- Acting for Two: In the episode "Far-Out Friday", Cubby and the voice over the intercom that orders him to clean up aisle five are both voiced by Rob Paulsen.
- Development Hell: Per Donovan Cook, he spent a while pitching the show, and two days after H-B had decided to give it a shot, Ted Turner bought H-B and things got delayed again since the studio was in turmoil amidst the buyout.
- Follow the Leader: This was Hanna-Barbera's attempt to do The Ren & Stimpy Show. In fact, John Kricfalusi provided what he called "tidbits of bad taste".
- Keep Circulating the Tapes:
- Exactly one DVD set, titled "Volume 1," was released in 2018 through Warner Archive. As of this writing, there's no word on Volume 2.
- And also this show isn't on any streaming service, not even Netflix or Hulu or even HBO Max. Not even iTunes. The only way to watch 2 Stupid Dogs is YouTube, which only has clips scattered around online and there are very few complete episodes. So besides a DVD, 2 Stupid Dogs is pretty hard to find.
- Starting from June 2022, The show is now fully available on HBO Max.... but only in Mexico and Latin America
- Boomerang used to rerun 2 Stupid Dogs, but they no longer do.
- Short-Lived, Big Impact: The show only lasted two seasons, but it was a major turning point for the then Turner-owned Hanna-Barbera, helping to bring Thick-Line Animation back into vogue and launching the careers of a number of people that would go on to create some of Cartoon Network's biggest hits. There's even a chart explaining how the show directly or indirectly led to many other different shows since.
- What Could Have Been: Hanna-Barbera wanted to change out each season's middle segments with other reboots of their older shows, including The Hair Bear Bunch, The Cattanooga Cats and Snooper and Blabber. The plans fell through, but the characters of Snooper and Blabber did show up in one of the Super Secret Secret Squirrel segments.
