- Acting for Two: Tim Curry voices Nigel as well as his father Radcliffe.
- Bad Export for You: The DVD for the movie has no hardcoded subtitles for when the Mbuti are speaking, so, if viewers want to understand what they're saying, they have to turn the subtitle track on.
- Celebrity Voice Actor: In addition to Tim Curry, Lacey Chabert, Danielle Harris and Flea all reprising their roles from the original series, the supporting cast includes heavyweights such as Rupert Everett, Marisa Tomei, Lynn Redgrave and Brenda Blethyn.
- Fake Brit: Sarah is voiced by the American actress Melissa Greenspan. The other girls at school are likewise voiced by Americans like Hynden Walch and Mae Whitman, or the Canadian Tara Strong.
- Licensed Game: The film received one released by THQ for the PC and Game Boy Color, both of which retell the film through a series of long-form levels and have additional "activities" available. The only significant difference between the two versions is that the PC features cutscenes and voice acting courtesy of the original cast while the GBC version does not due to cartridge limitations.
- Playing Against Type: You wouldn't expect Marisa Tomei to be revealed as a sadistic poacher.
- What Could Have Been: A sequel was planned, but they instead opted for Rugrats Go Wild! as a crossover film.
