Trivia / Taco-Man

Go To

  • Actor Allusion: In the Night Trap parody, Taco-Man uses the undercover name, "Dana", the same first name as the actress of the undercover agent from the original game.
  • Cross-Dressing Voice: Sam T. voices Taco-Man's wife with a performance that Taco-Man compared to Marge Simpson, in both sound and personality.
  • Dueling Shows: Taco-Man and Homestar Runner had jabs at one another.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: All the Stupid Adventures of Taco-Man have been removed from Samination's YouTube and Newgrounds channels. Sam T. has stated on twitter they were now embarrassing and outdated to him, and that he had no plans to re-upload them on the site. Taco-Man completely disappeared from those pages by 2023, after Sam T. shifted focus to producing Dead by Daylight-related content for YouTube. However, he later made all of Taco-Man's videos viewable again on either the Samination channel, or on one created especially for Sam T.'s oldest cartoons.
  • Milestone Celebration:
    • Taco-Man celebrated 50 episodes of Taco-Man Plays a Video Game with the 50th Episode Craptacular, in which he tried to re-play some of the games he reviewed before.
    • The 60th episode of Taco-Man Plays a Video Game, Taco-Man Plays Zelda II, had Taco-Man announce the number to an unfazed Princess Zelda in the middle of the video.
    • The 75th episode has Taco-Man play a game about himself, a 2006 parody of Night Trap.
  • Missing Episode: The Taco-Man Classics channel doesn't have "The Trouble With Virtual Boy", but the episode does have an unofficial upload.
  • The Other Darrin: Princess Polygon's voice actor changed from Sam T. to Rina-Chan in the second episode of Taco-Man: The Game Master, though she didn't receive credit until the third one. She also became The Other Marty when Sam T. "remastered" the first episode, and had her dub over the princess' lines. In the fifth episode, Taco-Man actually comments to Princess Polygon that her voice sounds much nicer compared to when they first met. She relapses into her original voice when she thanks him, then clears her throat and thanks him in her newer voice.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Taco-Man Plays A Video Game and Taco-Man the Game Master were originally going to be the same show, as evidenced by a Killer Instinct review popping up during the un-remastered version of the Game Master pilot. This idea was scrapped during development on Taco-Man Plays....
    • Also, Sam T. has stated in the past that Taco-Man Plays a Video Game was going to start several years earlier than it did, but at the time he did not have the equipment needed to make video game reviews. Had he did, he would have predated the The Angry Video Game Nerd episodes (minus his first two episodes made in 2004).
    • Taco-Man Plays A Video Game was supposed to run for 100 episodes before ending. In August 2020, Sam T. announced that the series has been cancelled, due to mediocre viewcounts and the success of his streams and animated horror parodies of Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th: The Game. The series quietly ended with episode 93, where he reviewed Who Framed Roger Rabbit for the Nintendo Entertainment System. However, in April 2023, Sam T. announced that he would revive the show if the Taco-Man Classics channel earned enough subscribers and Likes.
