Trivia / Oh No! It's An Alien Invasion

Go To

  • Channel Hop: The series left YTV in August 2014 and moved to Teletoon in November that year, airing new episodes on the latter channel.
  • Executive Meddling: Compared to his previous series League of Super Evil, series co-creator Peter Ricq had significantly less creative control due to being based in Vancouver (far from Nelvana's Toronto studio) and putting more focus on other projects at the time. As a result, he was much less involved in the show's direction and art direction than he was with LOSE at Nerd Corps Entertainment in Vancouver, and he's admitted that the show didn't quite turn out as he envisioned. This problem would greatly worsen with Ricq's next series Freaktown.
  • He Also Did: Series creators Philippe Ivanusic-Vallee and Peter Ricq previously co-created League of Super Evil when working at Nerd Corps Entertainment, which this show bears a few visual similarities to.
  • No Export for You: The series never aired in the United States, although some online streaming services that include Nelvana cartoons in their library have this show.
  • Screwed by the Network: Suffered this during its second season run on Teletoon, with the network dumping new episodes in early afternoon weekday slots where they would get no promotion or viewership (since most kids would be in school) and then quickly removing the series from their airwaves once they burned off all the episodes.
  • What Could Have Been: Early concepts for Nate as shown on Peter Ricq's website show the character originally had a large helmet. Apparently, the executives in Toronto disliked the design and tried to push for a more "Backstreet Boy"-like look, although Ricq managed to compromise in keeping the goggles.
  • Working Title: Not unlike how The Powerpuff Girls started off as Craig McCracken's not-for-kids student film, Whoopass Stew, the pilot for the series was a student film by series co-creator Peter Ricq titled Oh Shit! For obvious reasons, this had to be changed when YTV picked it up as a kids' cartoon.
