  • Cross-Dressing Voices: In the English dub, Mona Marshall voices Chagum.
  • Invisible Advertising: In America, the series just sort of showed up one Saturday night, and if you weren't following the schedule, you'd never have even have known it was on. After that and a couple false starts it finally aired completely and in a better timeslot, but still with zero advertising.
  • Screwed by the Network: The English dub shown on [adult swim] started at a not great but tolerable 1:30 a.m. timeslot, albeit with no advertising. Then, after episode 3 it was kicked to 5:30 a.m.. It was then restarted after 10 episodes in its original timeslot, but was dropped again due to the fallout of Geneon going bankrupt; the release of the DVDs got snagged up in red tape. [adult swim] was not permitted to continue showing Moribito until the licensing issues were resolved and DVDs 4-8 were allowed to be released. Thankfully, the problems were eventually solved, and [adult swim] re-aired and completed the series between June and December 2009, still with little to no advertising though.
  • Studio Hop: The anime is quite infamous for never being able to maintain a license holder for very long to the point of it being a Running Gag. First, Geneon USA had the license but then they went kaput and Media Blasters rescued it, but sadly MB themselves would end up going through a rough time that lasted until their eventual comeback in 2020. Eventually, Viz Media would acquire the license in 2014, but this wouldn't last long either as Sentai Filmworks note  snagged the license in 2020, and as of this writing Sentai still has the license.
