Trivia / Medal of Honor: Allied Assault

  • Celebrity Voice Actor: Gary Oldman, who later voiced other video game characters such as Viktor Reznov, voices Spearhead's protagonist Jack Barnes.
  • Dueling Works:
    • With Return to Castle Wolfenstein, another World War II themed FPS (although mostly about Ghostapo and Stupid Jetpack Hitler instead of frontline combat) released a few months prior to Allied Assault. At least as far as multiplayer was concerned, especially with Enemy Territory in 2003.
    • 2002 was also the year the multiplayer-oriented Battlefield 1942 came onto the scene.
    • Spearhead and Breakthrough, which were both released in 2003, competed against Call of Duty, made by several members from 2015, Inc. who helped develop the base Allied Assault game.
  • Dummied Out: The Omaha Beach level appears to have been intended to be slightly longer at one point during development. In the final game, the captain will talk about taking out the artillery bombarding the beach, but the levels ends abruptly as soon as you leave the bunker. No-clipping will reveal that there is a fairly large unused area just beyond this point, complete with 2 large artillery guns with demolition prompts.
    • The 4|0 Secret Level and the multiplayer map Remagen are believed to be remnants of a singleplayer mission revolving around the eponymous battle, mentioned in several promos and seen briefly in pre-release footage. Interestingly, this would have been the final mission of the game based on its date.
  • What Could Have Been: There were originally going to be significantly more NPCs during the Omaha Beach level, as seen in pre-release footage. The number was presumably dialed down due to technical concerns regarding the hardware of the time.
