** With ''VideoGame/ReturnToCastleWolfenstein'', another UsefulNotes/WorldWarII themed FPS (although mostly about {{Ghostapo}} and StupidJetpackHitler instead of frontline combat) released a few months prior to ''Allied Assault''. At least as far as multiplayer was concerned, especially with ''Enemy Territory'' in 2003.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: There were originally going to be significantly more [=NPCs=] during the Omaha Beach level, as seen in pre-release footage. The number was presumably dialed down due to technical concerns regarding the hardware of the time.

* DummiedOut: The Omaha Beach level appears to have been intended to be slightly longer at one point during development. In the final game, the captain will talk about taking out the artillery bombarding the beach, but the levels ends abruptly as soon as you leave the bunker. No-clipping will reveal that there is a fairly large unused area just beyond this point, complete with 2 large artillery guns with demolition prompts.
** The 4|0 SecretLevel and the multiplayer map Remagen are believed to be remnants of a singleplayer mission revolving around the eponymous battle, mentioned in several promos and seen briefly in pre-release footage. Interestingly, this would have been the final mission of the game based on its date.

* RecycledSoundtrack: The game uses a number of soundtracks from both the first ''VideoGame/MedalOfHonor'' and ''Underground'', notably during the Fort Schmerzen level. This makes sense, since Creator/MichaelGiacchino composed the tracks for all these games.
* RecycledPremise: The final level definitely counts, as it's a return to Fort Schmerizen, the setting of the final level of the first ''VideoGame/MedalOfHonor''.
