Trivia / Digimon Survive

Go To

  • Bad Export for You: The First Month Edition of the game includes codes that provide bonus items and access to Guilmon (which is not available otherwise). That is, unless you buy the physical version in Europe, which includes no codes at all.
  • Inspiration for the Work: In an interview with the game's producer Kazumasa Habu, he states that his work on this game was influenced by both his prior work on the Summon Night series and by the Utawarerumono series, both of which are also hybrid Strategy RPG / Visual Novel works.
  • Limited Special Collector's Ultimate Edition: The First Month Edition of the game, albeit if bought digitally or from specific retailers like GameStop. As its name implies, it's available only for the first month within release and offers bonus items and access to Guilmon, which would not be available as a purchasable DLC until late January 2023.
  • No Dub for You: Although the game was officially translated into multiple languages, including English, French, and Spanish, there is only a Japanese audio dub.
  • Real-Life Relative: A meta example which is combined with Actor Allusion and The Other Darrin. Piemon/Piedmon is voiced by Akio Ōtsuka in Survive. In Adventure, Piemon was voiced by Otsuka's late father Chikao Ōtsuka.
  • Role Reprise:
  • Spoiled by the Cast List: The same credits roll is used on any path clear, thus spoiling the names of certain characters that the player could not encounter in the path they have just cleared.
  • Troubled Production: Survive was first announced in 2018 and slated for release in the next year. However, the game ended up being delayed three years in a row as well as having both the developers and engine changed halfway through before finally releasing in summer 2022.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • In the final game the partner Digimon spend SP to evolve and stay evolved, but there's data in the game's files that suggests there was going to be a separate meter from SP called EP (evolution points) that would dictate how many turns an unit could stay evolved for a time. There's also leftover data for EP-restoring items, called Evolution Seeds.
    • This scene was showcased as a pre-release demonstration, but it (along with the Gym Key item) was not found in the final version. The closest remnant to a "puzzle" element in this game is figuring out how to get the Spirit Lamp Kit from a web-covered desk early in the game.
