Heartwarming / Digimon Survive

Per wiki policy, Spoilers Off applies here and all spoilers are unmarked. You Have Been Warned.

Digimon Survive may be one of the darkest entries in the franchise, but that doesn’t stop it from having a lot of heart, just like the original anime.

  • Agumon’s kindness is evident the moment Takuma (the player character) meets him as Koromon. He reassures him repeatedly he won’t ever betray him and is extremely loyal and even cheers him up on the night after Ryo’s horrifying death. The same goes for the other partners too as they’re incredibly loyal (even poor Lopmon with the abusive Shuuji).
  • Haru (actually Renamon in disguise) taking care of Miyuki while she’s trapped in the Kemonogami World. Keep in mind that time in that world is faster than in the Human World. In the fifty years the Professor (actually an older Akiharu Minase) has been there, over thousands of years passed in the Kemonogami World. Granted, that time did a number on Renamon's sanity and intensified her love for Miyuki to near Yandere levels, but it's still sweet.
  • Aoi being the Team Mom while Takuma was away and caring for everyone. It's a testament to her character growth, having originally been uncertain about whether she could be someone the kids can rely on.
    • Aoi and Takuma's relationship in general. The two of them lean on each other for support a lot, particularly in the non-Truthful routes where they're forced to assume greater responsibility for the group.
  • The Moral Route is the closest you can get to an Everybody Lives ending (at least on your first playthrough as the Golden Ending is only accessible via New Game Plus). The only casualty the party suffers in that route is Jijimon, who elects to hold off a Master-possessed Miyuki long enough for the heroes to escape, and they all get back to shape quick. It's also the route that focuses on the Professor the most, since it's the only route among the standard three where he, Garurumon, and Miyuki all live.
  • The Truthful Route being activated by reaching out to Ryo on New Game Plus. He's unhelpful and unpleasant to be around, but if you make an effort, his survival ensures the best possible ending for everyone. Just the fact that it says that everyone is valuable, that it's worth it to reach out to people, and that everyone is indeed valuable.
  • Surprisingly, the Master (or rather, Haruchika), in spite of the numerous children he killed or vanished over the centuries, still had people who cared about and sympathized with him — namely his former friends, the human partners of the sovereign beasts. It's eventually these people who granted Takuma's party the power to finally return Fanglongmon to his original, benevolent form and relinquish Haruchika's hatred, ending the cycle of death and sacrifice for real.
