  • During his final fight against Todoroki in the sports festival, Shigeo decides to take the dual quirk user's]advice by embracing the thrill of the battle. Unfortunately, he gets too carried away and realizes that he's acting no different from when he was fighting against President Suzuki and allowed himself to lose control of his powers. Shigeo ends up losing the will to fight which allows Todoroki an easy win. For the young esper, he can't help but cry over not only losing control of his powers but for failing to win first place like he promised All Might.
  • While living through Shigeo's memories, Stain ends up witnessing the more tragic and heartbreaking experiences in Mob's life and feels sorrow for the boy who's endured so much suffering. Such as living through Mogami's Nightmare World to him reaching his Rage Breaking Point when he sees the corpses of his family.
  • While alone in her family's garden, Momo confesses to Shigeo about her own insecurities and how she doesn't feel worthy of being a true hero given how she's had to rely on his powers in order to pass their respective trials. While Izuku and his friends are strongly against him leaving, all they can do is argue and beg him to stop as Mob uses his psychic power to immobilize them so they won't interfere with his decision. Before leaving, he says some parting words to his friends which leave them confused and scared over the new development. And lastly he smiles to his brother and promises to him that he'll come back to school as soon as he can.
  • Despite their good intentions, the Kageyama Retrieval Squad are unable to be of any use in regards to saving their friend. As they're immediately exposed and are forced to gain protection from the boy they intended to save, each member feels the upmost guilt for being unable to do anything to help out. It gets worse when they get scolded by everyone for their reckless actions and how much trouble they actually caused for Mob and the heroes. Endeavor tries to comfort him by saying he shouldn't blame himself while openly, and tearfully, apologizing for the lifetime of abuse and horror he inflicted onto Shouto, his mother and siblings.
  • The following day as Class 1-A settles into their new dorms, each of them miserably reflect on how much Mob meant to them in the past and how he doesn't deserve to be imprisoned for their actions. But special mention goes to Kirishima who destroys his punching bag in anguish while deciding that he no longer has the right to call himself a true man.
