That poster looks familiar!
Anime
  • Candy♡Candy:
    • There is a noble family named the Brightons. In Lady, they're an English elite family and in Candy♡Candy, they are the wealthy family that adopt Annie.
    • There's an episode where Lynn attacks Thomas after weeks and weeks of bullying, and Thomas' mother punishes Lynn as a result while coddling her baby boy. This is near identical to a Candy♡Candy episode where Neil does the exact same thing to Candy. Some people even point out that shot-for-shot, the scenes are similar.
Films — Live Action
  • In Lynn's Children & Peter Pan, when George and Diana go to Japan, there's a poster in the background that parodies the black and white poster of The Godfather.
Literature
  • Sarah is an expy of Klara Sesemann from Heidi. They are both children from elite, upper-class families that are disabled (Klara uses a wheelchair, while Sarah is implied to have hypothyroidism), and their lives significantly change with the presence of a cheerful young girl. In spite of their statuses, they are Spoiled Sweet. Even their names rhyme.
    • Sarah's physical appearance is heavily reminiscient of Klara from the 1974 World Masterpiece Theater anime Heidi, Girl of the Alps, with her long blonde hair and blue eyes, affinity for always wearing light blue clothes and large blue bow on top of her head.
    • Sarah, however, is more and pessimistic than Klara and has a tendency to Accentuate the Negative because her childhood was marked by George's Parental Neglect. This makes her similar to Colin Craven. However, unlike Colin and Klara, Sarah never throws off her disability.
  • Lynn's Children & Peter Pan, obviously, is one to Peter Pan.

  • In the manga, Lynn's daughter with Edward is called Diana, after Princess Diana.
  • Lynn's grandfather is the Duke of Woburn. Woburn is the name of an estate where a Real Life Duke in England lives.
