37. The Perfect Area

- What Could Have Been: One concept thought up by StarringComet for "The Perfect Area" was a completely different short altogether compared to the final product. It had starred best friends Bunny Hat and Trapper Hat◊ where one of them (It doesn't specify who) has a crush on the other and went out to buy gifts for them since it's almost Valentine's Day (Even though the festival was released in July). They bought a box of chocolates at a chocolate shop then stumbled upon a flower field and find a bunch of beautiful flowers reminding them of their crush. They were about to take some when the owner of the flower field stop them but after apologising and explaining everything, the owner directed them to their flower shop to pay for the flowers. In the end, the hat confesses their love to their friend and handed them the gifts, leading to the two of them dating.

- concept art of a scrapped idea I had for our 48 hour short. The idea was that the narrative would be refuting a nihilistic outlook on life and existence using the bliss of nature, like how life and our consciousness can give things purpose. like nature being beautiful
- going into detail its like what would be 'beauty' or 'bliss' without life? it's something that only exists because of us. a beautiful mountain is just a mountain without life. sounds are just sounds, the stars serve no purpose without eyes to gaze upon them, etc

- The storyboard initially had Rose to contain a stick body like Flower from BFDI, but the director told me it wasn't meant to be part of her asset, and that Rose was just a rose flower with stick limbs and a face
- There was actually an error for a few seconds of the film committed when it comes to Phone's eyes, as when he says "I'm not sure, but I'm suddenly feeling fatigued", his eyes and face become a black color instead of the supposed white face as the Phone robot he is.
- The Freeze Frame with Dr. Fizzlepop near the end of the film with the big red face is actually supposed to be Dr. Fizzlepop sending his invention, Phone, into a portal before he got caught by the outside world and security and toast his life. You can hear the sounds of the security as the loud banging of the door intensified.
- When Phone said "I'm Blue", the chat started singing "I'm blue dabadee daba die", referring to the song of the same name.
- What happened to Phone at the end of the film is really similar to what happened to Beepdoot from the 2023 48-Hour Film Festival short "My Own Two Eyes", as both ended up dying from low battery.
- When Phone gets corrupted and his screen becomes static, the sounds he makes was actually audio edited of the voice behind him, aka Irene The Phoenix, formerly known as TMNC 57. (In short, that wasn't audio recorded by me LOL)
