• Mikitaka Hazekura, a self-proclaimed alien from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, has either a Stand or a supernatural ability called Earth Wind and Fire, which allows him to shapeshift into objects that aren't bigger than him or too complex. Interestingly, Hirohiko Araki forgot that he named it as such, and what eventually became the Stand of Planet Waves in Stone Ocean was originally meant to be called Earth, Wind & Fire.

• Babel: When Chieko and her friends go to the dance club, it's playing a remixed version of "September".
• Drumline: When he first addresses the class, Dr. Lee tells them they're in band because they believe in musicianship, and brings up such artists as John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, "and the elements known as Earth, Wind and Fire", which shows how old-fashioned he is when it comes to music.
• Queens Logic: At the the bachelor party that isn't, one of the songs that plays is "Shining Star".
