Recap / Teen Titans Go S 1 E 25 Colors Of Raven

Go To

Original Airdate: September 18, 2013

A mysterious prism breaks apart and creates multiple Ravens, each a different color and matching core part of her personality. The Ravens quickly disrupt the Titans' collective life. So they decide to put the pieces of the prism back together to bring Raven back.

  • Anti-Climax: While the other Titans try, but fail, to beat Dr. Light, Raven simply snaps her fingers to beat him, teleporting him to jail.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Pink Raven exclaims, "Ooh, shiny!" when she sees the prism on Cyborg's person and reaches out to touch it, capturing herself.
  • Big "NO!": Cyborg and Beast Boy do this when Pink Raven reaches out to touch the prism on Cyborg's person.
  • Call-Back: To the first series' episode, "Nevermore", which similarly features an opening battle with Dr. Light (who easily beats the Titans, while Raven easily beats him) and multiple personalities of Raven (albeit more so than here). Because of that, this episode and that have several parallels to each other in terms of trope content.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Each of the core aspects of Raven's personality is a different color: Pink is happy and makes things around her wonderful, Purple is passionate and is always kissing boys, Red is always in a rage and full of anger, Gray is extremely timid and throws up at will, and Orange is extremely lazy.
  • Covered in Kisses: Happens to Beast Boy when Purple Raven kisses him so much.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Zig-zagged: Dr. Light is not nearly as harmless as he appears — until Raven shows up.
  • Epic Fail: Robin finds it exciting to have multiple Ravens to help in a battle — but when they are starting to fight a monster, and Robin shouts, "Ravens, go!", they all just start doing their own respective thing: Purple kisses Beast Boy, Red punches Cyborg repeatedly, etc. Robin ends up giving himself a Face Palm.
  • Genki Girl: Pink Raven.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Red Raven.
  • I Ate WHAT?!: After Pink Raven's capture, the whole world she made disappears, leaving Beast Boy to throw up because all that food she made was really a bunch of garbage.
  • Literal Split Personality: The different core aspects of Raven.
  • The Pigpen: Orange Raven.
  • Pre Ass Kicking One Liner: Thinking that Dr. Light will be easy to beat, Robin simply orders the Titans to come up with one-liners with "doctor" and/or "light" in it to beat him.
Beast Boy: It's lights out for you, Dr. Light!
Cyborg: Light's about to have his punched out!
Starfire: The Dr. Light shall need a doctor when I am through with him!
    • Dr. Light beats them all with relative ease — until Raven snaps her fingers, teleporting Light to jail, without saying anything.
      Robin: Where's the one-liner?
Raven: "This is stupid." How about that?
Robin: Eh, really should "light" or "doctor" in it.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Red Raven has red irises.
  • Shrinking Violet: Gray Raven
  • Stress Vomit: Gray Raven does this at anything scary or stressful.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: "Who knew that under that dark cape and darker scowl that a mix of happy, scared, loving, angry, lazy emotions exist?", Starfire queries by episode's end.
  • Sugar Bowl: Everything Pink Raven touches becomes something like this.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Beast Boy has this reaction when the team finds out Orange Raven ate all their junk food, being the one to personally put her back in the crystal.
  • Vomit Indiscretion Shot: Gray Raven vomits on-screen a lot, and Beast Boy does the same after seeing the burger he was eating was actually an old shoe.
