  • Birthday Episode: The episode takes place on Karen's birthday.
  • Body Horror: In order to keep himself from being stepped on by other dancers, Plankton uses a device that stretches his legs through a series of cogs, which is extremely painful for Plankton.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Defied. After Plankton's tall legs are saw all the way down, Plankton is about to shout "My Leg!" until Fred suddenly shows up and covers Plankton's mouth so he can shout his catchphrase.
  • Hidden Depths: Bubble Bass of all people is an excellent tango dancer, having won tango competitions with his mother for three years in a row.
  • Kindness Ball: Plankton and Karen are Happily Married in contrast to their usual Awful Wedded Life. Plankton doesn't need any external motivation to be nice to her, and dancing is something they genuinely love doing together. Even though they do get aggressive during the dance, it's encouraged by their instructor and everyone takes it in good fun.
  • Man on Fire: Plankton uses himself as the candle for Karen's birthday cake. But when the flame burns all the way down his antennas, his whole body catches fire, and he runs around screaming until Karen puts him out in the cake frosting.
  • Slasher Smile: Both Plankton and Karen sport one when they learn that tango requires aggression, which results in them sabotaging the other dancers while they dance.
  • Special Guest: Rosie Perez is Suzie Groove, Plankton and Karen's tango instructor.
  • Synchro-Vox: Happens when Plankton believes that tango requires lips rather than hips.

Original air date: February 26, 2024

  • Crazy-Prepared: Mr. Krabs has all the unusual ingredients that SpongeBob asks for from the spellbook.
Mr. Krabs: What? I can't pass up a sale.
  • Here We Go Again!: At the end of the episode, Mr. Krabs says that rather than sending SpongeBob, he went to pick up the cookbook himself. Turns out he also got a spellbook, with imminent danger for the Krusty Krab.
  • I Love the Dead: One of the spells in the spellbook is titled "The Undead and You", which shows a fish running with a skeleton in a bikini.
  • Non-Indicative Name: The Evil Witch isn't actually evil at all. She lends SpongeBob her magic to help save the Krusty Krab and even offers to let him be her apprentice afterwards.
  • One-Note Cook: SpongeBob is only used to making Krabby Patties. When he tries to make breakfast, he makes pancakes that taste exactly like Krabby Patties. Mr. Krabs sends him to get a breakfast cookbook to expand his selection.
  • Overly Long Gag: The bookstore clerk spends 20 seconds looking back and forth between two books, even though it's obvious which is which. He does it again not even a minute later, when there's only one book.
  • Portmanteau: At the end, Mr. Krabs decides to start serving a combination breakfast and dinner, which he calls "brinner".
