Usagi: Do you have a beautiful dream?
Chibi-Usa: Life is so complicated and full of ups and downs. It's hard to make your dreams come true.
Usagi: Yeah, and what's even harder is holding onto those dreams even after they do come true. But whatever happens, don't give up on your beautiful dreams.
Both: Hang onto them!

(CWi Episode: "A Teacher's Lesson")

Chibi-usa struggles to develop an actual friendship with Pegasus who continues to be aloof and refuses to connect. She's not the only one with connection problems as her art instructor Ms. Marino is also having trouble bonding with her students despite her supposed dream of being a teacher.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Adaptational Context Change: In the original, Kyuusuke teases Marino by saying that she's still single. In the Cloverway dub, he says that no one wants her as their art teacher.
  • Apathetic Teacher: Played with regarding Ms. Marino. She did dream of becoming a teacher and is committed to helping her students. But she does struggle to bond with them and comes off as too cold and frigid. This puts a strain on her as she worries if she's happy with her current life.
  • Bowdlerize: Surprisingly, Rini changing into her pajamas in front of Pegasus was initially left in the Cloverway dub when the episode premiered on Cartoon Network. It would eventually be cut for the edited dub VHS release and further reruns.
  • Cool Shades: Mamoru wears these when he shows up in his car.
  • Death by Secret Identity: Hebihanabiko learns that Chibi-usa is the one hiding Pegasus. But she's killed off before she can escape and reveal that information to anyone.
  • Dub Name Change: Momoko is named "Melanie" in the Cloverway version. Despite the fact that she is the exact same character as her first appearance in the R Season, she looks so drastically different from her first appearance that she was assumed to be a whole new character by the dubbers, so she was named differently. Though, "Melanie" and "Melissa" sounds like similar names anyway.
  • The Final Temptation: Within Chibi-usa's dream, Hebihanabiko tries to convince her to force Pegasus to be hers since he's inside her dreams which makes him hers. But Chibi-usa refuses saying that it wouldn't be right to force him to be her friend without his approval.
  • Fortune Teller: Tiger's Eye pretends to be one in order to lure Marino into letting her guard down.
  • Fun-Hating Confiscating Adult: Right in her first scene, Ms. Marino disapproves of Chibi-usa disguising herself as a famous artist and criticizes her for her inability to draw a proper landscape.
  • Happy Flashback: While recovering from her traumatic attack, Marino remembers a time when she was able to bond with her students and had a fun time painting clouds that look like pastries.
  • Old Maid: Kyuusuke strikes a nerve with Marino by pointing out that her cold attitude is a reason why she isn't married yet.
  • Only the Pure of Heart: Discussed. Tiger's Eye openly questions what would happen if the one who is hiding Pegasus knew of his extraordinary powers and decided to exploit him for world domination. His cohorts counter saying that the holder wouldn't even have those types of thoughts if their dreams were pure enough for Pegasus to find sanctuary.
  • Shadow Walker: Hebihanabiko is a shadow woman that can travel through any shadows. She even has the ability to enter a person's heart through their shadow.
  • The Spook: Pegasus is said to have incredible powers that can be easily exploited if he were to be captured. That's why he has to resort to keeping a distance from Chibi-usa while refusing to say anything about himself.
  • Supernatural Phone: Deciding that he also wants to be friends with Chibiusa, Pegasus summons the Stallion Reve so he can talk with her whenever the two are alone without anyone watching them.
  • Take That!: Sailor Moon's In the Name of the Moon speech describes how teachers work long hours and are underpaid for their efforts.
  • Villain Ball: As soon as Hebihanabiko goes after Pegasus, Tiger's Eye decides to leave and let her take care of everything. Had he stayed a little longer, he might have discovered the connection between Pegasus and Chibi Moon.
  • You Don't Look Like You: Momoko's appearance has changed considerably from her first appearance. This change caused enough confusion that the dubbers assumed she was a completely new character and was named differently in the Cloverway Dub.
