“The Three Lights were in the middle of their final concert when Galaxia suddenly appeared before us. The Princess protected us from Galaxia's attack but paid the ultimate price, by having her own Star Seed removed.”
Usagi Tsukino

Galaxia carries out her conquest of Earth by reaping the Star Seeds of every inhabitant. And now that they have nothing to lose, the Starlights travel to Ginga TV to confront Galaxia regardless if they perish. Sailor Moon and her Sailor Team follow them as well but once again experience one of the worst tragedies of war.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • As You Know: Setsuna grimly reminds the Inner girls that Galaxia has control over a grand majority of the galaxy.
  • Attack Reflector: Sailor Galaxia proves to be so strong that any attack thrown at her is immediately returned to the Sailor Guardian opposing her.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: The Starlights leave so they can confront Galaxia to make her pay for her crimes. She accepts their request by transporting them to her ethereal throne room so she can dispose of them personally.
  • Berserk Button: While normally calm and level-headed when dealing with the trash, Galaxia turns to anger after Star Fighter openly defies her in regards to taking Sailor Moon's Star Seed.
Sailor Star Fighter: You'll never have it! I won't let you near her!
Sailor Galaxia: Really? You won't let me? Just who do you think you're speaking to?!
  • Berserker Tears: While crying her heart out, Sailor Moon furiously demands that Galaxia return her friends to her.
Sailor Moon: GIVE THEM BACK! GIVE REI-CHAN BACK TO ME!!!!
  • Big Damn Heroes: Just before several bursts of dark lightning strikes Sailor Moon and friends, Sailor Saturn saves everyone using her Silence Wall.
  • Big "NO!": Usagi screams this after having to see her friends die on her.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": Healer shouts this to Sailor Moon for insinuating that she would know what Princess Kakyuu would want from them.
  • Break Them by Talking: Galaxia spends a huge part of the episode doing this to the Starlights, telling them how they are little more than dust compared to her, or how meaningless everything they did turned out to be in the end.
  • The Bus Came Back: Sailor Saturn returns after her season long absence since the Nehelenia Arc.
  • Cliffhanger: After Galaxia identifies a golden Star Seed as the one representing the Earth, Usagi realizes what that meant in regards to Mamoru's whereabouts.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Averted. Galaxia initially planned to torture the heroic Guardians for a longer period of time. But after Sailor Moon appeared declaring that she won't have her way, Galaxia decides to skip the torture and go straight to murdering them all.
  • Complaining About Rescues They Don't Like: Maker and Healer are irritated to see the Inner Guardians appear believing that they came to rescue them out of pity.
  • Cue the Rain: To go with the apocalyptic lightning, rain starts to fall on the neighborhood of Juuban.
  • Died in Your Arms Tonight: Rei ultimately vanishes while being held by Usagi.
  • Do Not Adjust Your Set: Galaxia makes her debut by broadcasting to the citizens of Earth about their upcoming demise. And as soon as the Starlights are transported to her throne room, Galaxia has multiple screens on the outside broadcast their suffering.
  • Foreshadowing: While the Solar System Guardians are busy discussing the ongoing apocalypse, Haruka and Michiru quietly break away from the group plotting to fight Galaxia on their own.
  • Friendship Moment: A dying Venus explains to the Starlights that she and the others think of them as their friends regardless of what they say. It's why they would go so far as to die protecting them.
  • Goal in Life: Played for Drama. The Starlights explain to the Outers that their goals were to find Princess Kakyuu and restore their home planet. However...
Sailor Star Healer: Now that our hopes have been crushed, we have no reason to live...
  • History Repeats: Star Healer comments that Galaxia's rampage on Earth is exactly how she destroyed their homeworld Kinmoku.
  • In Medias Res: The final battle continues with Galaxia bringing absolute destruction to the Earth.
  • Internal Reveal: Sailor Mercury figures out that Galaxia's base is in Ginga TV.
  • The Last Dance: The Starlights agree to face Sailor Galaxia directly now that they've lost their beloved princess and how they have nothing else to lose at this point.
  • Last Request: Before fading into oblivion, Jupiter asks the Starlights to protect Usagi and their world.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": The Outer Guardians are horrified to witness the deaths of the Inner Guardians by Galaxia's hand.
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling: Possibly zigzagged. Realizing that the Starlights have found her base, Galaxia opens the doors for them so they can walk into their doom. However, she either didn't realize the Outer Guardians were able to get into Ginga TV too, or she noticed and chose to ignore them.
  • Never Say "Die": Usagi ponders the grim implications of what happened to Mamoru after seeing his Star Seed in Galaxia's possession.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: Sailor Chibi Chibi Moon uses her teleportation ability to transfer Moon and the Inner Guardians to Galaxia's dimensional throne room.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: Sailor Galaxia views humanity as insignificant beings and is more than eager to eradicate them as they have no place in her new world order.
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: Usagi fruitlessly begs her friends to stay with her as they fade into oblivion.
  • The Promise: Just before leaving for their final battle, Sailor Moon promises Luna and Artemis that they'll protect their beautiful planet and come back alive.
  • Taking the Bullet: The four Inner Guardians lay down their lives to protect Sailor Moon and the Starlights from Galaxia's devastating energy shots.
  • Wham Episode: The Inner Guardians are immediately killed off by Galaxia and Usagi realizes what happened to her boyfriend Mamoru.
  • Wham Line: When Galaxia unveils all the Star Seeds she's collected, Sailor Moon takes note of a single one in gold and immediately knows who it belongs to.
    Sailor Moon: Is that Mamo-chan?
Sailor Galaxia: I see your attracted to that golden Star Seed. You have impeccable taste. That is the Star Seed representing this planet.
  • The Worf Effect: The Inner Guardians are immediately removed from battle after having their Star Seeds removed.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Sailor Mars's final words to Sailor Moon are to tell her to stop acting like a baby and how she's much stronger than she thinks.
