Tropes for this episode include:

• Ascended Extra: Nazo was originally just a Joke Character that explained to the audience who the Monster of the Week was and was just background decoration. Turns out he was actually spying on Moka for Koko and transforms into her weapon.
• Call-Back: Kurumu and Yukari are giving away newspapers in the same French Maid Outfits as in Episode 11 in the first Season.
• Cyclops: One of the guys Koko picks a fight with is this. Apparently he registers as a A-Class monster.
• Even the Girls Want Her: When Tsukune meets up with Kurumu and Yukari, a bunch of freshman girls are feeling both of them up, marveling at the succubus' perfect breasts and Yukari's adorable Moe body. When Moka shows up, they all trample over Tsukune to meet her and grope her all over.
• Frankenstein's Monster: One of the guys Koko picks a fight with is this. Apparently he registers as a A-Class monster.
• History Repeats: Just like in Episode 1, Tsukune encounters a vampire on a bike in the woods on the way to Yokai Academy. Unlike then however, it's Koko who he runs into and instead of it being a Meet Cute, she just yells at him and kicks him a bunch of times.
• Implied Death Threat: Koko sent Moka a letter saying that she is going to end her life at the entrance ceremony.
• The Insomniac: Apparently Koko had been leaving copies of the same letter for other students to deliver non-stop all night, leaving Moka without any sleep.
• Kick the Dog: Koko had no reason to insult and belittle the school newspaper. She apparently just did it to be a bitch.
• Laser-Guided Karma: As Ginei is spying on the freshman, his camera moves to a pair of legs with knees socks (Koko) who promptly kicks him so hard the lens breaks.
• Obsessive Love Letter: Played for Laughs. Mizore's letter is from a fellow stalker who's been stalking her. Unlike the others, Mizore isn't too bothered by it.
• Stalker without a Crush: Koko had been leaving death threat letters for Moka non-stop for 24 hours before they finally meet.
• Tsundere: When Tsukune accidentally recreates his Meet Cute with Moka with Koko, Koko yells and kicks him for accidentally groping her. When she licks his wounded cheek when she smells his blood, she kicks him again when she thought he was about to do it again. She later kicks Ginei for taking pictures of her, calls the newspaper trash and crumples it up in-front of Kurumu and Yukari, calls Mizore "pathetic" for stalking Tsukune (even though she was stalking Moka at the time) and throws two guys into a wall for "ogling" her.
