Our heroes board their fateful train to Neverwinter, and are rude to just about every single person aboard. Merle strikes out at evangelism. Magnus learns that he may not, in fact, have the biggest muscles. Taako just wrecks some baby carrots.
Tropes
- Bloodsport: Jess the Beheader is a famous athlete.
- Break Them by Talking: Played for laughs. The Horny Boys' relentless dogging of Jenkins left him questioning himself and incredibly insecure, to the point where he's recovering from a good cry when he next meets them in the Pleasure Room.
- Butt-Monkey: Taako loves to needle Jenkins about not using his magic, and about needlessly saving spell slots. And everyone likes to give Griffin (and by association, Jenkins) shit about the bizarre character voice he chose. They are barely any better to poor Angus, who they're immediately suspicious of and keep teasing.
- Catchphrase: Invoked. Travis expects Jenkins to be a fan favorite and asks Griffin to give him a catch phrase ( “Dynomite”, “Sayonara”)
- Foreshadowing: Griffin gives a rather obvious bit that Travis quickly points out.
- Kick the Dog: Even for them, Tres Horny Boys' treatment of Jenkins is cruel. It's hilarious.
- Mundane Utility: Merle wants to use Jenkins’ teleporter to go into the adjacent room.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning:Griffin: As you turn to walk away from [Angus] you swear you see the color of his eyes just turn blood red and—no I'm fucking with you. That's not true.
- Robe and Wizard Hat: How Juicy Wizard knows that Taako is a wizard.
- Running Gag: Characters claiming to be cursed because "a witch kissed me."

- Merle's fake accent starting from this chapter had been mockingly compared to Scrooge McDuck, or Flintheart Glomgold, by the rest of the crew.
- Merle hands Angus a Chick Tract to read while they're bombarding him with questions.

- Truth Serum: Merle uses Zone of Truth but Angus makes his saving throw.
- Wolf in Sheep's Clothing: Discussed. Magnus spends nearly his entire initial encounter with Angus suggesting that he's the guy they're looking for, if only because he's so trusting, polite, and sweet that he comes off as fake to him. That, and a dice roll that landed on 24 out of 20.
