Moon Girl and The Beyonder become stranded on a desolate alien planet; the two set out to find a rumored black hole in hopes of getting home.

Tropes:

  • Adaptational Badass: This version of Molecule Man is very powerful. He was able to remove the Beyonder's powers and comes dangerously close to killing Lunella. This is slightly offset by the fact that he clearly needs his wand to use his powers, something that was only a psychological limitation for his comic self.
  • Adaptational Species Change: Molecule Man is an alien from another dimension instead of a human supervillain here.
  • Alternate Self: Among the many enemies the Beyonder has made are an alternate version of Lunella and Devil named Devil Girl and Moon Dinosaur.
  • An Aesop:
    • Bad actions have consequences. Beyonder messing with people in the multiverse came back to bite him hard. One of said people was Molecule Man, who uses his wand to remove his powers, leaving him vulnerable to everyone he's messed with to come and get revenge.
    • Don't take your special skills for granted. And even if you don't have your special skills, you're still capable of doing great things.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Lunella and Beyonder escape Molecule Man and Lunella is returned to her family only two hours after her departure. However, Lunella is heavily traumatized from her near death at Molecule Man’s hands.
  • Body Horror: Parodied. Beyonder treats being thirsty, sweating from his armpits and getting blisters on his feet as horrible deformities.
  • Break the Cutie: Lunella very nearly dies at the hands of Molecule Man and is left completely traumatized by the ordeal.
  • Break the Haughty: Beyonder has his powers removed by Molecule Man and suffers a beat down from everyone he's ever messed with throughout the multiverse.
  • Call-Back: When facing Devil Girl and Moon Dinosaur, the former says the Beyonder is going down for destroying her science fair project.
    Lunella: [sighs] Really, Beyonder?
Beyonder: What? You're not the only Lunella in the Multiverse I like to mess with.
  • Chekhov's Skill: The Beyonder uses the tip toe that Lunella taught him earlier to pickpocket Molecule Man’s wand and restore his powers.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Molecule Man ultimately trounces Lunella and would have surely killed her (via a literal curb stomp to the head no less) had the Beyonder not managed to pickpocket his wand and get his powers back.
    • Once his powers are restored, Beyonder makes short work of Molecule Man.
  • De-power: Happens to the Beyonder, courtesy of Molecule Man as revenge for destroying his planet.
  • The Dog Bites Back: When word gets out that Beyonder has no powers, everyone in the Multiverse he's ever wronged converges on the planet for payback.
  • Evil Counterpart: Devil Girl and Moon Dinosaur are this to Lunella and Devil Dinosaur.
  • First Time Feeling: Having been deprived of his powers, Beyonder is now experiencing common human sensations such as thirst and tiredness for the first time, and he does not enjoy them.
  • Fountain of Youth: Upon stealing Molecule Man's wand and using it to return himself to normal, the Beyonder uses his powers to turn Molecule Man into a baby.
  • Goofy Feathered Dinosaur: While he is still fearsome and formidable, Moon Dinosaur ultimately has a moment of this when Lunella gets him to back off by distracting him with a treat. That said, this makes him not so different than his featherless Good Counterpart.
  • Immediate Sequel: This episode picks up where "OMG Issue #2" left off.
  • Oh, Crap!: Courtesy of the Beyonder upon discovering:
The Beyonder: Oh no! My powers! THEY DON'T WORK!
  • Power Nullifier: Molecule Man uses his wand to turn off Beyonder's powers.
  • Revenge Before Reason: Molecule Man would rather take revenge on Beyonder than allow him to fix his homewolrd. Then again, Beyonder had played an intergalactic game of golf that destroyed it in the first place and he only came back eons later to help Lunella.
  • Sheathe Your Sword: Seeing that Lunella is no match against his powers, Molecule Man decides to withdraw his wand and kill her the old fashioned way. This is what enables the Beyonder to steal his wand, save Lunella and get his powers back.
  • Shown Their Work: Moon Dinosaur has feathers covering his dorsum, as Tyrannosaurus is thought to have had in real life.
  • Space "X": As described by the Beyonder, galactic golf is like regular golf except with asteroids as the balls.
  • The Stinger: The ending credits shows a dark shadow looming over a piece of Lunella's costume left behind on a stalagmite.
  • Wake-Up Call Boss: Lunella has faced plenty of villains since the start of the series, but Molecule Man proves to be the most powerful to date. She ends up being saved by Beyonder and is left visibly shaken when she finally returns home.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Molecule Man nearly kills Lunella, to the point where the Beyonder has to save her life by stealing the wand and regaining his powers.
  • Year Inside, Hour Outside: By the time Lunella is returned home, only two hours have passed since her Heroic Sacrifice in the last episode.

Devil Girl and Moon Dinosaur

Just as Lunella and Beyonder were about to cross the bridge, they encounter an alternate versions of herself and Devil who like everyone else in this dimension want payback.

How well does it match the trope?
