Jaune recovers from his wounds just as the first school term ends; At the start of Beacon's second term, JNPR gets into a food fight with RWBY.
Tropes in this chapter include:
- Big Eater: Jaune ravenously gorges on every food in the cafeteria. Near the end of the chapter, he sneaks into Beacon's cafeteria at night to devour even more food.
- Defensive Feint Trap: Used by Pyrrha to win her sparring match with Jaune. When Jaune uses his telekinesis to enhance his attacks, Pyrrha realizes that she won't be able to hold off his attacks for long and starts to retreat while blocking his blows. She then lets Jaune knock her shield from her arm, giving him the impression that she's now defenseless. A frenzied Jaune then lunges in with a thrust from Crocea Mors... only for Pyrrha to spin away, use her Semblance to yank on Jaune's sword, and trip his legs, sending him tumbling across the floor. She then places her blade on the back of his neck before he can get back up, ending the fight.
- Food Fight: One breaks out in the cafeteria between JNPR and RWBY.
- Gotta Get Your Head Together: Jaune clutches his head in pain when he is suddenly hit with a feeling of ravenous hunger upon entering Beacon's cafeteria.
- Groin Attack: Weiss kicks right between Jaune's legs in response to hearing him tell her that he thinks she looks cute when she's angry.
- Improvised Weapon: Both JNPR and RWBY use various foods as substitutes for weapons during their food fight.
- Kung-Fu Sonic Boom: When Jaune's telekinetic shockwave meets Ruby's vortex, the resulting shockwave shatters every window in the dining hall, sends furniture flying through the roof, and knocks over a pillar.
- Never My Fault: Played for laughs. When Goodwitch walks in on Jaune's victory moment, he immediately claims that the explosion he caused during the food fight was Ruby's fault.
- Took a Level in Badass: Jaune is now able to match Pyrrha for blows in a sparring match.
- Time Skip: The chapter starts one week after Jaune woke up in the hospital in the previous chapter.
- Unstoppable Force Meets Immovable Object: This phrase is used to describe the result of Jaune's telekinetic shockwave meeting Ruby's vortex head-on during the food fight in the cafeteria.All of the windows of the dining hall shattered, exploding outwards as Ruby's unstoppable sonic boom met Jaune's immovable barrier.
- Wham Episode: This chapter significantly raises the stakes with the reveal that Jaune is slowly transforming into a Force Wound similar to Nihilus and is experiencing the same Horror Hunger that previously drove Nihilus insane.
- Wham Line: "And so the mask continued to corrupt Jaune, tearing open a wound within him much like its original owner's."
- The Worf Effect: To show how quickly Jaune has progressed, he puts Pyrrha on the back foot during their sparring match and only narrowly loses.
- You're Cute When You're Angry: Jaune tells Weiss this during their food fight. It gets him a kick in the nuts.Jaune: You know, you're pretty cute when you're angry.
