Hacker finds the part he needs to fix his Magnetic Magnotube — a machine that would disable Motherboard forever — in a most unlikely place. All he has to do to get it is win a cooking contest on the hit Cyberspace TV show, "The Fearless Chef". Hacker’s plan? To kidnap his competition. But the CyberSquad is on to him. Jackie and Inez go on a rescue mission to save the Fearless Chef, while Matt and Digit take on Hacker. Digit is already a celebrity chef, so this should be a piece of cake. They must race the clock and Hacker to cook three delicious dishes in three outrageous locations. Will Digit beat Hacker? Only time will tell.

Tropes in this episode:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: Chairman Delicacy describes Digit’s salad as “a sweet and sour salad with special seaweed sauce”.
  • Braving the Blizzard: Digit and Matt get stuck in a blizzard on a floating piece of ice thanks to Hacker and Buzz’s sabotage.
  • Cell Phones Are Useless: Hacker’s master plan to have all his food delivered to avoid cooking ends up failing during the last challenge as realizes he doesn’t have any service on Volcano Island.
Hacker: So much for "call anywhere from anywhere" plan!
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: As usual, Hacker’s cheating and sabotage does nothing to help him succeed.
  • Chekhov's Skill: Digit’s history as a cook, which turns out to be exceptionally useful for a cookbook cipher in food-themed Aquari-Yum, entering bake-offs in "A Time to Cook".
  • Coincidental Broadcast: When Hacker angrily questions Buzz and Delete where he’s going to be able to find another golden conduit, Delete hits the TV and it turns on to an announcement about the “Fearless Chef” competition in which the winner gets a golden chef’s hat.
  • Cooking Duel: Hacker and Buzz face off with Digit and Matt in a cooking competition in which the competitors have to cook in extreme locations all over Cyberspace.
  • Compressed Hair: In order to escape the trap set by Hacker, Jackie takes out her scrunchie, which causes her natural hair to grow twice its size. She’s then able to easily smooth it back down after putting her scrunchie back in. This happened again in "The Flying Parallinis".
  • Delivery Guy Infiltration: A variation. Inez calls out to Delete, pretending to be a “cyber delivery guy” in order to distract him so she and Jackie can save the Fearless Chef.
  • Diligent Hero, Slothful Villain: Hacker is portrayed as the Slothful Villain, where he secretly has pre-made meals flown in for each stage of the Cooking Duel that the kids try to win fairly.
  • Distressed Dude: Hacker takes the Fearless Chef hostage in order to keep him from beating him in the cooking competition. He was hoping to win on a technicality when the Fearless Chef didn't show up to compete, but Digit and Matt end up joining at the last minute.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Chef Foody makes a non-speaking cameo before being properly introduced in "Digit's B-Day Surprise" as a recurring character.
  • Endangered Soufflé: The last challenge for the cooking competition is to make a souffle and, of course, like all souffles it was doomed to be deflated by a loud noise.
  • Fake Ultimate Hero: Fearless Chef is seen by the public as a strong hero that can face any challenge, but, as Jackie and Inez learn, whenever he’s put in a dangerous or difficult situation he has a long list of excuses for why he can’t be of any assistance.
  • Instant Home Delivery: Hacker doesn’t actually cook any food for the competition, instead he orders each dish to be delivered directly to whichever crazy location they happen to be competing at.
  • Nice Character, Mean Actor: Digit idolized the current champion of "The Fearless Chef" but when Jackie and Inez tried to rescue him after he was kidnapped, he was quickly revealed as a bit of a Jerkass. And a coward.
  • Race Against the Clock: While on Glacier Pointe, Digit and Matt have to make their salad before a blizzard hits at exactly 9:43.
    • The competition as a whole also counts, because the contestants only have a certain amount of time to cook all three dishes.
  • Rimshot: One plays when Digit changes his recipe from his “famous cyber beet stew” to “just plain stew” when his beets blow away in the wind.
  • Slow-Motion Drop: Happens when Digit and Matt accidentally drop the clock they were using to track the time they needed for each dish.
  • Suddenly Always Knew That: While stuck floating away on a piece of ice, Digit is able to speak to some penguins and ask them to take him and Matt to Volcano Island.
Matt: I didn’t know you could speak penguin.
Digit: There’s a lot about me you don’t know, Matty!
  • Wingding Eyes: Hacker’s pupils turn into the golden chef’s hat once he sets his sights on getting it for his latest invention.
