Basic Trope: Character becomes nicer over time.
- Straight: Alice used to be a Jerkass, but now she's a pretty Nice Gal.
- Exaggerated: Big Bad Alice makes a Heel–Face Turn and becomes an All-Loving Hero.

- Alice has become less passive-aggressive over the years.
- The Big Bad remains a villain, but becomes more Affably Evil.
- Justified:
- A big part of Alice's Character Development over the course of the series is learning to trust other people after her Dark and Troubled Past.
- Alice becomes friends with Bob, whose attitude slowly rubs off on Alice.
- Alice realized how the situation has escalated from bad to life-threatening, and decides that it's not worth being a Jerkass, at least for the moment.

- Double Subverted: ...But then then she discovers that Good Feels Good, and decides to be nicer to everyone.
- Parodied: When Alice started out, she was the Omnicidal Maniac Jerkass Faux Affably Evil Ax-Crazy Big Bad. In Season 2, she has become the Big Good who wants to bring peace and love to the world.
- Zig Zagged: Alice alternates between Took a Level in Kindness and Took a Level in Jerkass on a regular basis.
- Averted: Alice never becomes less of a Jerkass.
- Enforced: Moral Guardians complained about how Alice was way too cruel for a kids show and the idiots upstairs acquiesced to their demands, ordering a retooling of Alice.
- Lampshaded: "Alice has gotten a lot nicer lately, hasn't she?"
- Invoked: Alice declares that she's going to start being nicer to people.
- Exploited: Charles, knowing that Alice's trying to be nicer but doesn't totally know how yet, begins manipulating her to get what he wants. After all, buying him a new car is what a Nice Guy... and she wants to be nice doesn't she?
- Defied: People keep expecting Alice to turn nicer eventually, but she never does.
- Discussed: "You know Alice, you've been acting a lot nicer lately."
- Conversed: "Is it me or is Alice a lot nicer than she was in Season 1"
- Deconstructed:
- We Want Our Jerk Back!.
- Alice tries to be a nicer person, but can't manage to pull it off because nobody will forgive her for being a jerk in the past.
- Alice tries to be a better person, only to discover that Humans Are Bastards, and trying to be nice makes her vulnerable.
- Reconstructed: However, despite all her problems Alice persists in trying to be a better person, and eventually succeeds.
- Played For Laughs: Alice turns into an obnoxiously sweet character, and other characters joke about how they liked her better before.
- Played For Drama: Alice was subjected to a brutal Humiliation Conga in which she was shown how much she hurt people, which led to her deciding to be nice.
