Small smile, big insanity
Being a Sanrio franchise you would think it would be a sugar bowl-like world, right?

Right?

SPOILERS UNMARKED

  • The start of the series, both manga and game, starts of cute enough. Yu-sensei taking care of the kids, Rumi-sensei mantaining a watchful but loving eye, and we get to see the kids acting the way they usally do! Then the first Froggy Egg shows up, and the tone shifts VERY fast. Once the Froggy Eggs show up for the first collection time, they request the class to pay them medals. When they understandbly act confused, the Foggy Eggs rip themsleves up and show their true mouth.
  • In the manga, Daigoro doesn't even last a day in Uropia, instead being eaten, yes, EATENby the Froggy Eggs almost immediately because he spent all of his medals on the Froggy Phone, calling his mom. Not only is this a horrifiying way to go, but to remind you, nearly all the cast are toddlers. Daigoro probably wasn't even five when he died.
  • Rumi-sensei begins acting.. off. In the manga, she throws up her food and in the game, she stares out into space for a bit after giving Yu two of her medals. Either way, some time after Yu-sensei, Shinta, Lion, Hayate and Kanata return from Glitter Labrynth (or Twinkle Twinkle Labrynth, depending on the translator),SHE MENTALLY REGRESSES INTO A BABY.
  • Hikaru breaks the Twilight Alley(ways) rules by letting go of her partner's hand. Her shadow becomes alive, AND ATTACKS HER.
  • In the manga, Aki steals some sweets from a broken vending machine. To make up for this (and a apology from Rinrin and Mamoru for letting the rest of the hero squad scold her), she throws a partyIt ends in her getting MICOWAVED ALIVE, FULLY AWARE OF WHAT'S HAPPENING TO HER just because she shoplifted something she thought was free.
  • Madoka gets game over in equally brutal but different ways in the game and manga. In the manga, she gets crushed alive by falling debris before giving her camera to Yuzuriha. In the game, she drowns after throwing herself into the Sweeping Pool attraction's river to retrieve her camera.
  • Heart-pound'in Ferris Wheel (in the game at least) has decapitated goat heads in the background.
  • BYE-BYE SLOTS. Not only the concept of becoming a helpless plush toy who can barely move is horrifying enough, your forced into a battle of the death! The whole thing is based on a crane game/UFO catcher, extremely low chances to win (in this setting, survive) included.
  • Lion's mental breakdown throughout the entirely of episode 4 culminates in her jumpscaring the player by breaking the screen with a very loud glass effect.
  • Sweeping Pool's final stage has the water turn blood red.
  • The crying baby sfx that plays during Kanata's backstory exposition is bound to jumpscare some players.
