Starting in 2023, famed speedrunning celebrity Spikevegeta started a series where he attempts to play every game in the North American SNES library. You can view his spreadsheets here. The YouTube archive for the show is here.

SNES Mania contains examples of:

  • 100% Completion: For the SNES library: Spike is tackling and defeating every US released SNES game, in chronological order. Prior to starting, he had, by his own estimation, only finished 41 Super Nintendo games, which means there's 677 games for him to discover, learn and conquer.
  • Anti-Frustration Features: Spike allows himself to use GameFAQs if he's stumped on a game. Lagoon was such an example. As a general rule, he prioritizing finishing the game over mastering it.
  • Audience Participation: Unlike other streams, Spike allows for Twitch chat to help him get through the games.
  • Breather Level: Most sports games tend to come and go pretty quickly, as the only objective is "win a match".
  • Canine Companion: Occasionally, Spike's dog would interrupt the stream and demand attention from Spike.
  • Christmas Episode: Spike intended for Home Alone to be the 2023 Christmas special, and ran multi-hour streams to get to that point before the new year. And succeeded!
  • Continuing is Painful: Spike noted this was the case in Gradius and Super R-Type: both offered unlimited continues, but also required several powerups in order to be capable of surviving the incoming enemy swarms that killed him when he was fully powered to begin with, meaning he was in a worse position than when he died. This usually results in him downgrading the game's score.
  • Marathon Level: in the case of games with "arcade" sensibilities, most either have limited continues or making continuing a bad idea. When it takes a few hours to reach the end of the game, being forced to start over is painful.
    • The longest playthrough, as of March 2024, is Romance of the Three Kingdoms II, which took a whopping twenty-five hours to finish, on the basic map at the lowest difficulty. Spike had to point out repeatedly during the streams (of which there were four) that he was not completing all of the scenarios when just completing one took more than a day.
  • Nobody Could Have Survived That: Spike was shocked that Cid survived sealing off the underground with a bomb in Final Fantasy II.
  • Nostalgia Filter: Averted: Spike has zero problem pointing out when a game does things wrong, such as shoddy controls, terrible instruction or direction, or poor optimization.
  • Optional Boss: These tend to be skipped, such as the Summon fights in Final Fantasy II and Larry Koopa in Super Mario World.
  • Pet-Peeve Trope: Spike really hates it when games have a complete lack of Mercy Invincibility, such as Lagoon.
  • Post-Victory Collapse: After finishing a particularly frustrating game, Spike generally isn't happy so much as he's just tired and thankful that it's finally over. Examples include Pilotwings, where he just stayed silent waiting for the credits to show up, and Robocop 3, where he didn't even celebrate.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Spike tends to swear when he gets frustrated at a game.
  • The Unfought: Due to Spike skipping the Sealed Cave in Final Fantasy II, the EvilWall survived the events of the game.
  • That One Boss: In-Universe, Nebiroth from Super Ghouls N Ghosts took a full hour of a five-hour long game to beat on the second loop.
