Jerkass examples in Family Guy.
- Peter Griffin started out as a Jerk with a Heart of Gold who often made stupid and selfish decisions, yet always had his family's well-being in mind. After the show came back, he was transformed into an abusive asshat who openly hates his children for no reason, shows no remorse after he carelessly puts his family in danger, and assaults people over incredibly minor and ridiculous disputes. Unlike his wife Lois, he has no self-awareness of his behavior and doesn't respond well to criticism, outright ignoring other people when they called him out on his actions.
- Lois was flanderized from a loving mother and wife to an abusive shrew, especially towards Meg and Peter. This is most notable in "Stew-Roids", where she gives up on cheering up Meg and tosses her a Sylvia Plath novel and a bottle of Ambien, stating "Whatever happens, happens".
- Connie is an Alpha Bitch whose character revolves almost entirely around bullying Meg, being a major factor for the latter's self-harming tendencies. Although she suffers a brutal punishment for her actions in almost all of her appearances, she always comes back to antagonize Meg in the following episodes.
- Much like Peter and Lois, Brian became a jerkass through Flanderization. He has an ego the size of Texas, bashes everyone who does not agree with him and is a pretentious Know-Nothing Know-It-All who thinks all the other characters are idiots. By Season 12, he has devolved into an amoral, selfish jerk who deliberately gives Stewie and Chris herpes as a joke and sells Quagmire a dilapidated apartment after he has the decency to help Brian fix his teeth.
- Quagmire is a heartless sex hound who takes advantage of women's insecurities, tricks them into having unprotected intercourse with him, and abandons them after he is done. Also, sometimes his hatred for Brian crosses over into Disproportionate Retribution, like when he beat up the dog for sleeping with his transgender father (something which Brian was completely unaware of).
- Carter is one of the biggest jerks in the show. He has enslaved his employees, is inexcusably cruel to Peter, is distant to his daughter Lois, and has abandoned his son Patrick after the boy had a nervous breakdown. He even found a cure for cancer and refused to release it to the public, even after Lois made an emotional speech about the ethical ramifications. Also, one of his hobbies is to tease orphans by offering them toys, a puppy and a new family, only to abandon them afterwards.
- The guy from "The Kiss Seen Around the World" who kept calling Peter a phony for pretending to play a keyboard at the toy store. He's somehow able to find the Griffins' car in the parking lot and spray paints the word "phony" into it, tells people on the street where they live, and then calls Neil a phony for admitting that he wasn't seriously planning to jump to his death. The most karma he gets is in "Follow the Money" where he's left out of the episode until the very end when he's heard protesting a caption saying that he couldn't make it.
- The Hummer driver from "Hell Comes to Quahog".Hummer driver: HAHAHA! Dude, those animals are so fucking funny, they make me wanna merge without looking! *does so, resulting in a car crash behind him*
- Jeff Fecalman from "Screams of Silence: The Story of Brenda Q." beats his girlfriend (Brenda, Quagmire's sister) up constantly, and it can be assumed that he commits worse abuse on a regular basis. What makes this shocking is that Jeff is the first asshole in the show to be taken dead seriously and he winds up getting killed.
- Mental Mike from "A Fistful of Meg" is a sadistic brute who gets pleasure out of brutally abusing other people and even tries to kill Meg, just because she accidentally got food on his jacket. And like Jeff, he also gets killed by the end of the episode.
- Three men from "Herpe the Love Sore" steal Peter, Quagmire and Joe's booth at the Drunken Clam, then have them humiliated when they try to get the booth back by revealing themselves to be American soldiers, getting off scot-free for their actions and being praised for their heroics.
