Open Windows is a 2014 Spanish-American found footage mystery-thriller film directed by Nacho Vigalondo and starring Elijah Wood and Sasha Grey.
Nick Chambers, creator of the website jillgoddardcaught.com who is a massive fan of world-renowned actress Jill Goddard, is excited to discover that he’s won a dinner date with his favorite actress, Jill Goddard. However, her manager, Chord, regrets to inform Nick that Jill supposedly decided to not honor the contest.
As such, Chord makes an offer Nick can’t refuse: the ability to view Jill secretly via computer. Nick begins watching the unknowing star on her webcam, stalking her through her calls and phone, and even tracking her to a hotel room not far from his.
But as these activities constantly put him in trouble, Nick is guided by Chord to evacuate his hotel room and even electrocute Jill's agent unconscious. As such, Nick starts to question Chord's actions and his identity. Unfortunately for Nick, Chord isn't quite finished with him or Jill yet...

- Being Watched: Jill and Nick. At first, only Jill is being watched by Nick, thanks to Chord. However, soon after, Chord starts keeping a close eye on both of them.
- Big Bad: Chord.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Jill's supposed manager? He's actually a psychopathic cyberterrorist.
- Break the Cutie: Jill.
- Broken Bird: Jill after being kidnapped, tied, and gagged by Chord.
- Didn't Think This Through: Nick curiously watches Jill through her phone and various cameras just because a stranger allows him to.

- Hidden Agenda Villain: As Chord continues to manipulate Nick into commiting various crimes for him, his intentions are pretty unclear for most of the film. It is then revealed that Chord plans to livestream Jill's death in front of millions of people on the internet.

- Never My Fault: Chord blames Jill's predicament on how her fans think of her.
- The Sociopath: While appearing to be a friendly guy to Nick at first, the film gradually shows Chord's true colors.
- Stepford Smiler: Jill, who is a actress superstar around the world but is actually miserable with her famous life.
