When Worlds Collide
is a Massive Multiplayer Crossover by Lillypool.
Although the heroes won against Bill in 2012, his defeat had unforeseen consequences affecting the entire universe. Now, the protagonists of several Disney shows must band together as the fate of six realms rests in their hands.
This fanfic provides examples of:
- A Degree in Useless: Dipper almost mentally drops the trope name towards his cryptozoology degree, which cost him $25,000 in student loans. The only reason he's staying with Tex's horrible show is that he needs the paycheck to deal with said loans, and even considering that, he has enough by Chapter 2 and quits.
- Catapult Nightmare: Chapter 3 begins with Anne jolting awake from a nightmare of the events of True Colors.
- Contrived Coincidence: After quitting his job, Dipper is on the highway at just the right time to see Anne and the Planters arrive on Earth.
- Ignored Expert: Despite it supposedly being his job to make Tex's monster-hunting act look less stupid, the show staff never listen to Dipper's ideas. And this is despite him having an actual degree in cryptozoology. In Chapter 2, when he's unable to convince the director to travel to Gravesfield to help Camila, he finally has enough and quits.
- Massive Multiplayer Crossover: The story description notes that it's a cross between The Owl House, Amphibia, Big City Greens, Gravity Falls, The Ghost and Molly McGee, DuckTales (2017) and Star vs. the Forces of Evil.
- Noodle Incident: Luz spent a summer in Gravity Falls when she was ten, and Dipper notes that she caused more chaos than he ever had, Weirdmageddon included.
- Related in the Adaptation: Camila Noceda and Soos Ramirez are cousins in this universe.
- Time Skip: Chapter 3 has the story jump forward a couple of weeks to when Dipper and Wendy manage to track Anne and the Plantars down.
