The only reason he's staying with Tex's horrible show is that he needs the paycheck to deal with said loans, and even considering that, he has enough by Chapter 2 and quits.
* ContrivedCoincidence: After quitting his job, Dipper is on the highway at just the right time to see Anne and the Planters arrive on Earth.
