Rocket Raccoon (2014) is a comic book series from Marvel Comics, written and drawn by Skottie Young. It's the second solo series (and the first ongoing series) to star the titular Rocket Raccoon.

Rocket goes on the run from the Ex-Terminators, a veritable army of his exes, while also being framed for murder by his nemesis: Blackjack O'Hare! The series ended with eleven issues.

Rocket Raccoon (2014) contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Amazon Brigade: The Ex-Terminators led by Gemeral Amalya. And they hate Rocket.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: In issue #9, a potential future appears where Groot goes to Earth for testing and his self-healing goes into overdrive, making him grow to fifty feet and start attacking everyone. It's only through the Heroic Sacrifice of Rocket that this Grootzilla stops.
  • Frame-Up: Blackjack O'Hare pretends to be Rocket and commits crimes across the galaxy to ruin his name. Which was already pretty ruined, but now he has the authorities after him.
  • MacGuffin: The Book of Halfworld.
  • Rescue Romance: General Amalya's backstory with Rocket: he saved her from a kidnapping, they had a romance, then he left her after pilfering her family fortunes. So she wants revenge.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Both the Ex-Terminators and Blackjack O'Hare want revenge against Rocket, but they both keep getting in each other's way.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Rocket finally gets his hands on the Book of Halfworld, which should tell him about his race's mysterious past. However, the passages he starts to read are too odd and unnerving, so he just quits, gives the book to Captain Sale, and leaves.
  • Slippy-Slidey Ice World: The planet Fron, also known as the "Winter Planet."
  • Speaks in Binary: One of the robots Rocket finds on Knowhere is named 01100010 01110010 01110101 01110100 01100101, which is binary for "Brute."
