Kid Sherlock is a Detective Comic Book by Justin Phillips, Sean Miller, and Lesley Atlansky.

John Watson is an anthropomorphic dog who recently transferred to Baker Elementary School. Being the only dog student, as soon as he shows up, he's immediately made an outcast. The only real exception is Sherlock Holmes, the local Kid Detective who investigates strange goings-on around school.

Together, the two become the school's sleuthing team. They deal with bullies, find lost toys, investigate stolen school equipment, and may even face a threat to the very school itself.

The comic was released on June 14th, 2017.

Kid Sherlock contains examples of:

  • Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: Watson only wears a hat and eyeglasses.
  • Adaptational Species Change: Watson, naturally. He went from human in the books, to dog in this comic.
  • Age Lift: Well, of course. Sherlock is a kid in this comic, and Watson is roughly kid-aged, since he goes to school as well.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Watson on his first day at Baker Elementary. The other kids just give him cold stares in the lunchroom, and laugh at him when a bully tosses him a stick.
  • Animal Goes to School: Sherlock Holmes's friend and companion, John Watson is reinterpreted here as an anthropomorphic dog who is able to walk on two legs and attends elementary school just like any other human kid.
  • Black Bead Eyes: Watson has these.
  • The Bully: One exists in the comic that likes giving Sherlock and Watson a hard time. In one sequence, a classmate bullies Watson by throwing him a stick and ordering him to fetch it.
  • Kid Detective: Sherlock, naturally. Like his namesake, he investigates mysteries.
  • New Transfer Student: The story "The Smell" introduces Watson as the new kid at Baker Elementary School.
  • Signature Headgear: Sherlock wears a deerstalker cap.
  • Youthful Freckles: The above-mentioned bully has them.
