    Rallen
The chosen Spectrobe Master and a Nanairo Planetary Patrol officer.
  • Catchphrase: "Iku Ze!" (Let's go!) and "Honki de Iku Ze!" (Let's go for real!)
  • The Chosen One: Rallen is the only one who can wake the Spectrobes, but others can use them.

    Jeena
Rallen's partner, who's an expert with tech.

Spectrobes

Introduced in the first game

    Vilar, Vilamasta, and Vilanox
Vilar has a hard exoskeleton and constantly scans the ground. Vilamasta is a trusty ally that uses its sharp horn for melee combat. In contrast, Vilanox uses its built-in cannon for ranged attacks. They have the Corona property.
  • Mighty Glacier: They're slow, but have high attack and defence stats.
  • Starter Mon: Vilamasta is functionally one in Beyond the Portals; you don't technically start with it, but your Harumite gets swapped out for it before any real battles happen. This leads to problems later on when Rallen starts encountering Flash-element Krawl.
  • Tough Beetles: Vilamasta is a beetle with samurai armour, while Vilanox is a beetle crossed with a cannon.

    Segu, Segulos, and Segulara
Segu is a prankster that loves to pretend it's an egg. When it evolves into Segulos, parts of its shell become spiked shields that it uses for both attack and defence. And if all that armour wasn't enough, Segulara is so electrified that it looks like a ball of plasma. They have the Aurora property.

  • Shock and Awe: Segulara is surrounded by electrical currents that shield it and block attackers.
  • Shy Shelled Animal: Segu is encased in an egg-like shell, and its description in the first game says it's a little shy.

    Harumi, Harumite, and Harumitey
The crab-like Harumi is a voracious eater that digs for minerals with its claws. Harumite uses its pincers as a weapon, and it's also covered in spikes. Harumitey's armour-like shell gives it a lot of defence, and it can be quite stubborn. They have the Flash property.
  • Power Pincers: Harumite attacks by combo-jabbing opponents with its pincers.
  • Starter Mon: Subverted. You start out with a Harumite in Beyond the Portals, but early on it's removed from your party and replaced with a Vilamasta.

    Spiko, Spikan, and Spikanor
The spikes on Spiko's tail are blunt, so it uses it to break open rocks to reach the tasty minerals inside. Once it evolves into Spikan, these spikes become longer and sharper, allowing it to use it as a weapon. Spikanor is a master of close-ranged combat that loves to crush its enemies. They have the Aurora property in the DS games, and the Plant property in Origins.
  • Epic Flail: Spikan and Spikanor have spike-covered balls on the ends of their tails that they swing around to attack.
  • Shockwave Stomp: In all three games, Spikan has an attack where it creates shockwaves by slamming its tail on the ground.
  • Starter Mon: You start out with a Spikan in the first game.

    Komainu, Komanoto, and Komadoros
Komainu is easy-going and loves to have its ears petted. Komanoto has a fierce bite, and is a lot faster than it looks. Komadoros is built like a tank and hits like one, too. They have the Corona property in the DS games, and the Fire property in Origins.
  • Asian Lion Dogs: "Komainu" is Japanese name for stone guardian dogs. It is associated with the element of fire and described as easy-going, and has the thick lips and curly fur typically seen on komainu statues. Its evolutions, Komanoto and Komadoros, are more fierce-looking.
  • Lightning Bruiser: They have all-round balanced stats and are surprisingly fast.
  • Playing with Fire: While they mainly attack with their teeth, their most powerful attacks are fireballs.
  • Series Mascot: They're prominent in promotional materials such as boxarts, and one of your Starter Mons is a member of this line in all three games.
