• Dark Horse Victory: Despite being a shadow of Germany, Prussia can not only unify all of Germany, but they can somehow take over the whole world.
• Irony: The secret organization created by Philipp Bouhler to take over the world and destroy socialism and leftism worldwide is called the International, which refers IOTL to the ideal of world unification of socialists in the song The Internationale and the name of the successive politicals Internationals, world forums for socialist parties. In other words, the Internationals of Pax britannica and OTL only share the desire for world unification but for completely different, antithetical goals.

• Alien Invasion: The whole plot of the Pax Britannica Halloween event is a Martian invasion of Earth.
• Civil War: A civil war can potentially erupt between the Martian task forces depending on their stance towards humanity.
• Les Collaborateurs: Instead of exterminating all of humanity, the Martians can potentially enlist human collaborators in order to integrate the newly conquered areas easier, at the cost of displeasing the extermination faction.
• Evil Colonialist: They invade Earth to secure living space for themselves, wipe out everything in their path whether it's a threat or not, warp the environment to resemble their own, and consider natives to be little more than a type of animal to exploit.
• Great Offscreen War: The Martians talk about the First Great War on Mars and the Fifteenth Martian Civil War that cut off the stellar colonies, both of which were far larger in scale than humanity's Great War.
• Humanity Is Advanced: Downplayed. While the Martians have some advanced weapons, it was made clear that the humans are more advanced than them. The Martians will have to adapt in order to successfully conquer Earth.
• Human Resources: The Martians build Processing Camps, where humans are converted into Red Weed, a material instrumental in terraforming Earth. The material is created by exsanguinating a human body, then processing the blood into a modified slurry which can then be aerosolised. This gas, while toxic to humans, promotes the growth of the terraforming material.
• Invading Refugees: Decades of war have rendered the surface of Mars uninhabitable. The oceans have frozen, cities and canals lie decimated. The Martians thus want to take Earth for themselves from a species that clearly cannot appreciate what it has.
• Kill All Humans: The initial goal of the Martian invasion is to exterminate humanity to make way for colonisation, though they can later change their minds and recruit human collaborators.
• Outside-Context Problem: Pax Britannica is a world with unrestrained technological progress, hyper capitalistic regimes, brutal revanchist dictatorships, unrestricted warfare, and other manmade horrors beyond comprehension. No one excepted a Martian invasion to be one of them.
• Shout-Out: The halloween event is based on The War of the Worlds.
• Starfish Aliens: The closest evolutionary equivalent to Martians seem to be the octopus, as their portraits would indicate.
• Start My Own: The invading Martians can choose to cut ties to their homeland and start a new life on Earth.
• Take Over the World: The main goal of the Martians.
• Vestigial Empire: Mars was once the centre of an empire that extended to the Kuiper belt, but that was a long time ago.

• Alien Invasion: Inverted. If the League of Earth beats back the invasion, a revanchist faction begins preparations to take the fight to Mars and bring the same devastation to the red planet as was brought on Earth, though the counter-invasion of Mars is not actually depicted in-game.
• The Alliance: The League of Earth consists of every nation in the world united to fight the Martians.
• Enemy Mine: After America or Russia falls to the Martians, Germany will rally every nation in the world regardless of ideological differences in order to combat the increasing Martian threat. Even France teams up with Germany, viewing the Martians as a greater threat.
• Evil Vs Oblivion: All human nations, no matter how moral, will team up against the Martians, who wish to exterminate humanity.
• Taking Up the Mantle: Germany will become the leader of the League of Earth after America or Russia falls.
