Goblin Cat Tails
Sango
Sango
The boss of the Goblin Cat Tails.
- Bait-and-Switch Tyrant: We hear rumors about her strength, violence, and aggressive territory expansion for a few chapters before she appears on-page. She turns out to have good intentions.
- Chosen Conception Partner: Sango desperately wants a litter from Ryuusei after seeing his skill in battle.
- Lady Looks Like a Dude: She's the biggest cat in the manga and built like a tank; cats meeting her for the first time are shocked that she doesn't have balls.
- Large and in Charge: She towers over her underlings.
Kinbi and Ginbi
Kinbi and Ginbi
Identical littermates who are never seen apart.
- The Dividual: They're always seen together, and usually spoken to together.
Outsiders
Hazuki
Hazuki
Smug bastard tuxedo cat.
Madara
Madara
An information gatherer with no affiliations to any one clowder.
- Bad People Abuse Animals: Madara's kittenhood owner is a horrifying example; the depiction of animal abuse is eerily realistic, down to the lasting psychological impact it has on the cat.
- Dark and Troubled Past:
- Manipulative Bastard: He delights in manipulating cats to turn on each other, especially if they were close friends.
Mr. Moke
Mr. Moke
A long-haired mixed-breed with a special affinity for catnip.
- The Aggressive Drug Dealer: A cat equivalent. He deliberately gets other cats high on catnip by shaking his fur and scattering catnip dust on them.
- The Stoner: He's a catnip expert who's eternally high on his own supply. His human design even has weed socks.
Mugen
Mugen
An enigmatic Sphynx who came to Nekonaki on uncertain business.
- Creepy Hairless Animal: He's bald all over, which the Nekonaki cats find creepy. It's not helped by his constant silence.
- Friend to All Children: Kittens adore him and he's last seen allowing them to crawl all over him, with just a hint of a smile.
Others
Ryuusei
Ryuusei
Ryuusei is a dark tabby who's just rolled in to Nekonaki.
- Ear Notch: He's missing most of his left ear.
- Idiot Hero: Ryuusei is brave, loyal, strong, and about as dumb as a rock. One page shows him struggling to count to four next to an infographic that explains just how small domestic cats' brains are.
- Liberty Over Prosperity: The core of Ryuusei's personal philosophy. Not satisfied with his freedom from human control, he also refuses to follow other cats' rules.
- Silly Rabbit, Cynicism Is for Losers!: Ryuusei's trademark attitude.
- Younger Than They Look: He's built like a linebacker and outweighs many of the other cats at just one year old—the feline equivalent of fifteen.
Mocchi
Mocchi
A lost pet.
- Cute Kitten: Most of the characters are cute, but Mocchi's a real kitten at less than one year old. His shy, sheltered personality and unique face make him all the more endearing.
- A Pet into the Wild: He used to be a pampered kitty but escaped outside and got lost, eventually joining the Nekonaki clowder for safety.
Gekka
Gekka
A male calico.
- From Stray to Pet: He lives happily in a human home at the series' end.
- Law of Inverse Fertility: While most of the cats have no problem reproducing, Gekka angsts about the fertility issues caused by his intersex condition.
