* SheatheYourSword: The only way to get through the Park Shrine is to not engage the residing Drackonacks in battle (or even get hit by them, they're invincible anyway) or else the gate on the other side will close. It's one of the more annoying puzzles in the game. You may need a Meerca Speed Potion]] for this, although it can be done without it. This in turn helps prepare you for the challenges in the Sewer Shrine, which are more {{Stealth Based Mission}}s than this.

* BadassBeard: The Old Knight [[spoiler:who is King Altador.]]

* AfterBossRecovery: Inverted. When you fight a boss, your health is automatically filled to the max. But it stays where you left is after defeating a boss.

* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: Upon beating Act 1, you take control of Roberta. They haven't met yet.

* AttackItsWeakPoint: The Black Knight. Unlike most other bosses in the game, you can't power your way through this one. You'll have to attack his weak points when they get exposed. Unlike most other bosses with these, he doesn't periodically show it in battle. Instead, he uncovers different ones as the fight goes on, and you'll have to be quick in exploiting them with Roberta.[[note]]As Tormund's sword strikes would just bounce off.[[/note]]

* BaitAndSwitch: When you encounter Fyora in Act III, you see her [[spoiler:free and with the Darkest Faerie tied up.]] But players would feel something's not right. After Roberta hands over Fyora's Wand, [[spoiler:it turns out the Darkest Faerie has switched places via an illusion spell. But it ''then'' turns out that Fyora wasn't that in distress after all and she then proceeds to have a showdown with the Darkest Faerie (which you can't assist in).]]

* FisherKing: When the lands are taken over the Darkest Faerie, the skies turn purple and the inhabitants turn crazy. Justified as it's a spell.

* HeroMustSurvive: Normally when one of the player characters die, you will switch over to the next one. However, in the Werelupe Burrows section, because the character split paths (and Roberta gets kidnapped), dying as any of the player characters will be an instant Game Over.

* SavePoint: Many are present in the game, some even very close to eachother. They show up as glowing hexagon stone slabs that emit a hum.

* WakeUpCallBoss: Most bosses are either quite the pushovers or have an easy-to-learn pattern if you know what you're doing. The Werelupe King however, can keep you on your toes, and blow through your healing items if you're not careful (and sometimes even then). All bosses after him get (satisfyingly) challenging from that point on. [[spoiler:Except the FinalBoss. See AnticlimaxBoss.]]

* DummiedOut:
** 2 bosses: A giant Spyder and a monster known as 'Cloud Beast' were planned to appear.
** Ancient Castle Spires was set to appear near the Knight's Crypts. It is a huge area with many traps. It can be accessible via a very difficult glitch.
** Faerieland has an unaccessible section that you will never be able to reach in the game, and it contains models of some boss characters in a T-pose.
** A strange map called 'Food Chute' can be found in all the map files. The area hasn't even been seen before.
** In the present files is an unused cutscene of Roberta pointing out she has to find the mosaic pieces in the Hall of Heroes.
** King Skarl's treasure room can be accessible by hacking, and it contains a DummiedOut item which is King Skarl's Key.
** The Crimson Ergyfruit

* SwordAndSorcerer: Tormund and Roberta are a sword-user and sorceress who work together.

* StealthBasedMission: In Meridell, you are tasked to herd some Miamice into a cage. But they run away if the spot you, meaning you must sneak behind them and pick them up one by one.

* BubblyClouds: Faerieland is a land resting on clouds. Although you don't stand on the clouds themselves, but the land on top of it.

* LadyAndKnight: Tor and Roberta.
* LaughingMad: A corrupted Seradar does a mad laugh when you encounter him.

* LizardFolk: The Techos and Grarrls. The Techos are gecko-like and the Grarrls are dinosaur-like.

The story later focuses on Roberta, who is a young Acara diplomat and niece of the Brightvale king, is bored of her position and instead prefers practicing magic as she dreams of being a sorceress.

Tragedy strikes the lands of Neopia when the Darkest Faerie escapes her imprisonment and puts a spell on all the Neopians that turns them mindless. Only Tor and Roberta appear to be unaffected by this curse, or so it seems. Now Tor and Roberta unite and join forces to stop the Darkest Faerie's murderous plan.

* Cap: There is a cap for the health and magic bar. After 14 increments for both bars, Red, Starry and Golden Neggs do nothing.

** A run exploiting glitches was completed in 1:22 by pok3monrocks.

** The only exception to this is when [[spoiler: Roberta loses Fyora's Rod]] and resorts to the next best thing, but that's a plot thing.

** The Faeries are obviously all female.

* SwordOfPlotAdvancement: Fyora's Rod is said to be the only weapon that could defeat The Darkest Faerie. It was even needed to [[spoiler: kill the Dark Faerie sisters who are otherwise invincible.]]

* GoodBadBugs:
** Certain bosses that do not use the 'Flash of pain' trope when hit will also not deplete motes. For example, attacking Plague Serpent while having a supernova equipped to your sword will not use up any mote power or magic.
** Due to a programming bug, the Abandoned Mines only needs to be completed by saving Mayor Jurgin. You need not rescue a single miner, they all go back to Cogham.
