* HundredPercentAdorationRating: Inverted; Jason, just like Kevin, is a dad with a good life. That translates very well to the house, because everyone enjoys his good spirited ways, he hasn't gone after anybody unless they really warranted it with ugly behavior, and has objected to extremely dirty moves to advance one's game. This is subsequently tarnished when he makes a huge error when he holds all the cards in Week 10. Outside of the house, though, he fractured the fandom. Jason is still regarded highly (he placed third in the favorite houseguest poll), but nervously so, because his ribald sense of humor can really disturb people, and in one case, got revolting enough that it split the fandom on how to respond. But nobody was more disgusted than Mrs. Deborah Schleuber herself, and she had the biggest right to be offended- that joke was about her!

* HatedByAll: Downplayed. Although Matt is nowhere near as universally hated in the house as Raven is, he's still looked down upon by his fellow houseguests. The only person in the house that seems to find Matt tolerable is Raven. Every single houseguest has treated Matt as if he is a leper. Paul, although he was in an alliance with him, had commented privately that he found Matt to be irritating because he wasn't useful in the game -- all Matt did was play house with Raven and lose competitions. Paul used Matt as a vote or a pawn and nothing more. Kevin has openly stated that he has found Matt (and Raven) to be incredibly annoying. The dislike between the two reared its ugly head in Week 9 when the two of them got into a huge altercation. Cody said that Matt is, annoyingly, one of the most useless players in the entire house. All of the houseguests have shunned him for his association with Raven.

* HatedByAll: As of the later weeks, nearly everyone in the house has come to dislike or hate Raven. Raven has shown that she's not the nice and friendly person that she tried to pass herself off as at the start. The other houseguests with the exception of Matt have commented how they dislike Raven's personality because she is an AttentionWhore who tries to be the centre of attention constantly. Others are just annoyed by Raven's attitude and how she's a ConsummateLiar who embellishes stories or makes exaggerations about her physical illnesses including her Gastroparesis. Alex has stated that she can't stand Raven because she comes off as attention seeking and a huge liar. Paul says that Raven is annoying because she constantly tries to include herself in his conversations and copy what he says. Christmas dislikes Raven because she has a habit of taking her stuff without even asking. Cody disliked Raven because she had told many lies about her turning Cody down romantically and how he made installs about her inability to have children. The majority of the house is NOT a fan of Raven and her attempts at trying use her illness to earn sympathy from the house isn't working.

* [[FaceHeelTurn Fake Heel Turn]][=/=]HeelFaceMole: At the chess table with Mark, Mark discussed taking Paul out of the game and Jason seemed to bite. However, this is a last-ditch effort by Mark to stay in the game and Jason doesn't want to follow through with his plans to take down Paul because he considers it too risky at this point to go after the master of the house just like that.

* TheOphelia: Raven is pretty and has a childlike innocence about her but it's also apparent that she's suffering from some serious AmbiguousDisorder or mental illness that's undiagnosed although it's uncertain exactly what mental disorder she suffers from. She could be suffering from a variety of mental illnesses including Borderline Personality Disorder or BipolarDisorder considering how erratic and overly emotional she is. Her behavior is extremely crazy and bizarre and she comes off as highly mentally unstable although she doesn't seem to believe that she has a mental issue because of her naive and gullible personality. Even though she comes off as innocent, serene and childlike most of the time, she's the opposite when she's provoked into anger as she becomes AxCrazy and CuteAndPsycho. * BrokenBase: Believe it or not, even NiceGuy Matt qualifies for this. He's stated more than once that his intent is not to win, but to get Raven to the end so that she has a chance to win given that she's an IllGirl. Noble, indeed, but the fact that it's for Raven the AlphaBitch has the fans up in arms. There's also a group that is calling out the producers for having a houseguest on who doesn't even bother to play to win, given the amount of fans who audition to play every year - and who ''would'' love the opportunity to play. And his reception upon being evicted is unsurprisingly lukewarm... until the mention of cereal comes up.

* KnightInShiningArmour: He tries to play this role for Raven, who could be considered his DamselInDistress. Matt has repeatedly stated that he doesn't care about winning the game but that his intentions are to get Raven as far as he can in the game so that she can get to the end and potentially win. Matt has been willing to fall on his sword for her and protect her with everything, not just because she is his romantic partner, but because she [[IllGirl suffers from Gastroparesis]] and needs the money the most because of it.

* AndThereWasMuchRejoicing: When [[IllGirl Raven]] is unexpectedly evicted on Double Eviction night in Week 11, everyone in the house celebrated (after the agony of Double Eviction Week blindsides died down, of course) and immediately started bashing her (with very good reason to) and talking about how happy they are that she's finally gone.

* DamselScrappy: One of the biggest complaints that many fans have about Raven is that she's so useless and weak in the game. This is in stark contrast to Alex, who is incredibly physically active, athletic and competitive. While the audience may sympathize with Raven for [[IllGirl suffering from Gastroparesis]], they believe that she's still incompetent in other aspects of the game other than competitively. Because Raven is a dance teacher and a trained dancer, one would think that she would be a lot more active in the competitions, but instead, she was terrible at them. However, if she did manage to scrape by at a particular competition, it was mostly the endurance or physical competitions, but this could be because she's a dancer and many of the endurance comps require balance and focus, two things that are crucial in the world of dance. Her social game and strategic game was useless as well. Her social game was weak because nobody in the house liked her or wanted to be aligned with her. And her strategic game was so non existent that Paul took over her brains 100% of the time because of the lack of intelligence in Raven. Fans have frequently said that Raven is one of the worst houseguests because she hasn't contributed anything to the game whether it be good social skills, strong strategic skills or solid competitive skills. A lot of fans are of the opinion that the only thing that Raven did all summer was sleeping with Matt and playing house. Because of her uselessness coupled with her unlike personality, she is extremely unpopular with the Big Brother audience.

* IllGirl: Raven suffers from Gastroparesis, a disease which causes her intestines to be paralyzed to the point where she needs to have a pacemaker. Other than this, she has frequently stated that she's suffers from a variety of other illnesses such as arthritis and other digestive problems.

* AntiHero: Type II (KnightInSourArmor). For the most part, Matt is a decent NiceGuy but at the same time, he's also aligned with the dark or bad side of the house as he's one of Paul's most devoted minions and followers. He can be nasty and vicious when he wants to be but for the vast majority of the time, Matt means well and has generally good intentions (especially where Raven is concerned). He's willing to go against the grain and break some rules for those he cares about or those he's aligned with. In regards to Matt's CharacterAlignment, he started out as somewhere between LawfulGood and NeutralGood and eventually slid farther down the scale to somewhere between LawfulNeutral and ChaoticNeutral.

* AntiHero: Type II (KnightInSourArmor). For the most part, Jason is a good person but he's also made some morally questionable actions and decisions throughout the game. In addition, although he normally does try to be as positive as possible, he can also be cynical and paranoid at times. He's also TheDragon to the BigBad Paul and he's willing to do all of his dirty work for him. In regards to Jason's CharacterAlignment, Jason started out as NeutralGood and eventually descended down to ChaoticNeutral with slight LawfulNeutral or LawfulEvil shades.

* AntiVillain: Type II (WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds). In regards to her CharacterAlignment, she started out as ChaoticGood and eventually descended to NeutralEvil later on. Raven may be a villain but she's still somewhat sympathetic because of her real life struggles and her illness. Raven has resorted to acting [[AlphaBitch very mean and petty]] in the game. It could be assumed that Raven is troubled because of the issues that she faces in the real world. And she wants to win the game more than anything so that she can bring awareness to her illness and use the money to help her cause. So although Raven's a villain, she's also a sympathetic villain that we can feel empathy and compassion for.

* ClothesMakeTheLegend: Jason is always seen wearing his classic signature "Whistle-Nut & Ole" jersey. Because of his jersey, his InSeriesNickname is Whistle-Nut or Whistle. In addition, he's always seen wearing a [[NiceHat cowboy hat]] and he's rarely, if ever, seen without it.

* {{Cowboy}}: ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin. Jason is a rodeo clown, which is someone who does bull-fighting. He's always seen wearing his signature [[NiceHat cowboy hat]].

* NiceHat: Frequently seen wearing a fairly nice cowboy hat. Used to hide his baldness.

* FourIsDeath: The first two times he was on the block, Matt was a simple pawn. The third time, Matt realized [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness he wasn't a pawn as much as an easy target to pick off.]] The fourth time, Matt was voted out, and by garnering a penalty vote, even [[UpToEleven he voted himself]] out of the house.

* BreakTheCutie: Inflicted on her by Alex, and Jason by proxy, with the events of Week 10; When she decides to target the Maven showmance, Alex thinks that eliminating Matt first will cause Raven to break and it will lead to her swift eviction next, but actually decides to go after Kevin next. Jason refuses to obey Alex and keeps the showmance on the block, and since Matt will of course do the chivalrous thing and redirect any and all votes aimed at his partner Raven at himself and even goes as far as to [[UpToEleven incur a penalty vote on purpose just to be sure it's him who goes home that particular week]], it comes to pass that he's evicted and Raven is left all by her lonesome and miserable.

* BastardGirlfriend: Her relationship with Matt is extremely problematic and even borders on being abusive at times. The way or manner in which Raven treats Matt is not at all nice and respectful. Raven acts like a bitch towards Matt because she is an extreme MoodSwinger in regards to how she interacts with him. Sometimes she can be very friendly, loving and playful towards him and other times, she's mistreating him by yelling at him, screaming at him or hitting him whenever she gets irritated and mad at him. Matt, on the other hand, comes across as an ExtremeDoormat when it comes to Raven and her treatment of him. He almost never stands up for himself against her. Many fans as well as the other houseguests have constantly trash talked Raven and how she treats Matt. They find Raven and Matt's relationship to be borderline DomesticAbuse as Raven emotionally and physically abuses Matt pretty frequently and Matt just seems to take it and let Raven walk all over him.

* DomesticAbuse: Her relationship with Matt is extremely problematic and abusive in nature. Raven is overly aggressive in her treatment of Matt while Matt comes off as an ExtremeDoormat when it comes to standing up against Raven and her bad behavior. How did Matt even stand to be around Raven for so long considering the awful way she treated him all summer?

* BaldOfAwesome: Jason is mostly bald although nobody can tell most of the time because he's constantly seen wearing a [[NiceHat cowboy hat]] to cover it up.

* BadassBeard: Subverted. Although Matt has an impressive beard (which is salt and pepper due to being a SilverFox), he's not an [[ActionHero Action Guy]] or a competitive threat (or even a strategic threat) by any means. At most, he's an ActionSurvivor who's used his social game as well as his blind loyalty and obedience to Paul to stay in the game as long as he did.

* BadassBeard: Jason starts off the game clean-shaven, but grows a scraggly-looking beard later on. Around that time, he also starts winning competitions. He's got GrowingTheBeard down to a science!

* AlphaBitch: Raven originally started off as a nice girl who was friendly, but as time went on, she revealed that she is one of the meanest and cattiest girls in the house. Raven is a mixture or combo of Type 1 and Type 2 of the Alpha Bitch personalities. She fits Type 1, because she appeared to be a sweet SouthernBelle who was a NiceGirl and was an AllLovingHero who gets along with everyone and cares about everyone genuinely. However, she's actually a typical mean girl who endlessly trash talks and treats other people terribly. She's also terribly manipulative and cunning and will use her feminine and girly charms to get her way. She also resorts to playing the victim card when it most suits her or if she feels that it will benefit her in some way. She has a ZeroPercentApprovalRating and she is nearly universally hated in the house (the only person who can remotely stand her is Matt and that's because he happens to be her romantic partner!). Guys tend to overlook Raven's awful personality and are attracted to her simply because she is physically attractive and looks cute. She's also incredibly unintelligent and seems to be a {{Cloudcuckoolander}} and TheDitz who has her head in the clouds. Raven is also the Type 2 personality because Raven is able to successfully put on a friendly facade, that of a NiceGirl and a sweet SouthernBelle. But underneath is a whole lot of bitchiness and a completely nasty person. Although she may appear dumb at times, she could be ObfuscatingStupidity. She's a ManipulativeBitch that loves to manipulate in order to get her way. Despite her horrible person, Raven seems to be completely oblivious to the fact that's horrible and instead, thinks that she is a nice and good person who everyone loves and wants to be friends with. Although Jessica is also an AlphaBitch as well, Raven may actually take the title of being the season's De Facto AlphaBitch. Raven has done a lot of shitty stuff to people. She especially exposed what a bitch she is at the very beginning when she made the petty decision to steal Alex's cat ears and hide them and then dump out all of her Coke simply because she didn't like her. She's also a bully. In Week 5, she got into a major fight with Jessica in front of the house in which Jessica called out Raven for being a liar about being the one who stole Alex's cat ears and poured out all of her Coke. When Jessica exposed Raven, Raven took it upon herself to bully Jessica and humiliate her in front of everyone just because she wanted to be petty and mean and take her anger out on her. She also called her many derogatory names such as bitch and cu-t. The fact that she constantly talks trash about the other houseguests unnecessarily does nothing to help curb her bitchy side. In addition to the constant trash talk, she constantly lies about her personal life as a way to seek attention. The way that she treats Matt is horrible. She treats him like a dog that she likes to control and abuse and Matt comes off as an ExtremeDoormat. Because of Raven's bitch attitude towards Matt and the awful way in which she treats him, some fans even argue that their relationship is borderline DomesticAbuse. Raven is [[ZeroPercentApprovalRating hated by both the audience and the other houseguests]].

* OdangoHair: Sometimes wears her hair in two high buns, as seen in the above photo. Interestingly enough, her hair style gives her a girlish appearance. Her signature hair style may be strategically making her appear more cute and innocent than she really is. See GirlishPigtails.

* TooDumbToLive: He does not even seem to realize the obvious red flag of being nominated even as a pawn until it's too late. Even though Paul and Christmas told him who to evict... he didn't put two and two together.
** Even to the point where he and Raven believed they were in control of the game, despite being in jury.

** Played Straight, however, in the second Double-Eviction. After Mark [[TheCassandra points out that Paul is the one really calling the shots and anyone who doesn't do exactly as he says goes]], Jason [[TooDumbToLive throws him under the bus and joins on the campaign to get rid of him, even volunteering to go up as a pawn and doesn't even consider the possibility of him going out]]. Sure enough, it's ''his'' decision ''not'' to nominate Kevin (because he felt Kevin might have gone out) the previous week, and Paul who sends him out (and attempts to frame Josh and Christmas for it), and Jason immediately sees right through it (and even blames Alex.)

* TooDumbToLive: Like most people in the season, Jason is ''incredibly'' stupid when it comes to the game:
** [[CassandraTruth Mark]] decides to tell Jason that Paul has been running the entire game. Jason doesn't believe him, and throws him under the bus all because it's Mark.
** Followed [[DevilInPlainSight Paul]] blindly.
** Volunteered to go on the block.
** Repeatedly threw competitions.
** Culminating in his dumbest move of all, and what is probably the dumbest move since Marcellas squandered his Golden Power of Veto all the way back in ''Big Brother 3'': completely forgetting that he promised to take Raven off the block when Maven shared the block together. This move was so bad, it made [[LivingProp Matt]] lose his cool. Yes, what Jason did was stupid enough that the one guy who was least visible in the house was unmissable for an entire day.

* {{Adorkable}}: Can be very likeable and endearing, especially in his interactions with Kevin, Paul, Josh and Alex. He also has a habit of being awkward at times, which adds to his endearing qualities.

* BadassAdorable: Jason is {{Adorkable}} and one of the strongest social threats in the game.

* {{Adorkable}}: Raven is very lovable and dorky and she's also the type to get easily excited over things. She shows to be enthusiastic and perky come every eviction vote with Julie. Raven was also the one who wanted temporary tattoos after the "Inked & Evicted" challenge ended. Her showmance partner Matt chose a temptation where he was made to dress as a ballerina. Raven is a dance teacher, so, naturally, after the challenge ends, he gave his tutu for her to wear for fun. However, her adorable personality is later on tainted and viewed in a more negative light as she reveals that underneath her cutesy persona, there lies a very nasty and violent personality. She's not as cute when she's bullying people or exploding in anger at others. The fact that she constantly embellishes stuff about her real life does not make her the least bit endearing.

* BadassAdorable: Raven has a spunky, feisty personality and is pretty scary when she is provoked into anger (she took down Jessica of all people!) but is also {{Adorkable}} and has her endearing, light hearted moments.

* CuteButCacophonic: Raven is {{Adorkable}} and cute but sometimes her voice and her speaking manner can be considered highly annoying, especially to some of the live feed watchers.

* CrossesTheLineTwice: A lot of the things Jason says jokingly are warped. Matt remarked, "There's a line. Jason doesn't step over it — he ''dives.''" [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWzsuZgBITY One of his jokes]] has an [[IncrediblyLamePun extremely]] raunchy punchline. But the one that got everyone up in arms [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pb0zY_UWXYI was a horribly fucked up rape joke.]] He wasn't meaning anything behind it, but it was just so blue that it would have made even Creator/RonWhite holler.

* {{Hypocrite}}: Has little to no issue with lying to Matt and Raven about promoting to use the POV on one of them so that Kevin would be backdoored since he didn't want to go back on his word to Kevin and did so to benefit his game. But as soon as someone else (Paul) decides to make a game move against him that wasn't personal in nature (considering that Jason was one of Paul's closest allies and friends in the house), Jason acts like a SoreLoser who is bitter. Sure, it sucks to get backstabbed or betrayed by one of your closest friends and allies in the game, but did Jason forget that he's playing a [[LamePun little]] game called ''Big Brother''? A game that involves lying, backstabbing, manipulating and betrayal? Jason should have seen it coming.

* HairDecorations: Raven is often seen wearing some sort of hair decorations in her hair whether it be hair bows, headbands, ribbons, or clips. The decorations that she wears in her hair often give her the appearance of a GirlyGirl and TheIngenue.

* AmbiguouslyEvil: Now that Raven is out of the game and no longer in the house, it's uncertain if Raven could be considered to be someone that's villainous or evil. Outside of the house and going by the jury segment footage, it seems that she's highly delusional, crazy, and unstable but pretty harmless. The only reason she's classified as more of a villain while in the house was because of her association with Paul (who's the BiggerBad) and her mean, aggressive, and cruel behavior and treatment towards other houseguests. Raven wasn't the nicest person, but she's not completely bad either. She's just really delusional and out of touch with reality.

* MakeupIsEvil: Raven wears so much make up on her face to the point that her face sometimes becomes unrecognizable. Zingbot even zinged her for having the appearance of a clown because of how much makeup she wears. Fittingly, Raven is also a villain who's TheDragon for Paul (who's the BiggerBad of the season).

* DelusionsOfGrandeur: Raven is probably the most delusional houseguest in the entire house. She constantly talks about herself and creates stories and make them seem as though they are a reality. She constantly embellishes things about her personal life. Some even think that Raven is psychotic because she doesn't seem to be aware of reality. She likes to make up things about her life to make it seem like she has endured so much tragedy so that she can gain attention and sympathy from other people. She also has a superiority complex and seems to think that she deserves to win the game more than anyone else simply because she has had a hard life and has endured more struggles because of her illness. Raven seems to be completely unaware that everyone in the house with the exception of Matt hates her and can't stand to be around her because she is such an annoyance. Even Julie is skeptical around Raven when Raven claims she did well in the game (at least on a social level). In the Jury House, they let her have it for thinking for even one second that she was the mastermind in the house, and quite predictably, she gets really pissed about it. And while nobody gets Raven's BB Comics "Arkansassin" poster and she does (being delusional and a compulsive liar), it's [[CoversAlwaysLie itself a lie]], which is pretty damn genius humor.

* TooSpicyForYogSogoth: Half the things she says are excised from the TV broadcasts and generally only the marshmallowy stuff she says survives, which makes her appear deceptively nice most of the time. In truth, when Raven lives up to her namesake, some of the things she says are so malicious that they can't show it. The producers were desperate to throw her disparaging remarks and behavior on the live feeds under the bedcovers, but finally discovered it was too big of a task for them to pull off without putting her OutOfFocus.

* MarySue: Subverted. On the surface, it seemed as if Raven was the "perfect girl". She was the sweet, kind, caring and compassionate SouthernBelle who was the ultimate NiceGirl–so nice in fact that she could pass herself off as an AllLovingHero. She's also incredibly loving and friendly and has such a strong social game and ability to make friends that she was going to be so popular and loved by everyone in the house! Let's not forget that she's an accomplished and trained dancer and she also teaches it for a living so that means that she's super duper talented! Or how about the fact that Raven is physically beautiful and almost has the appearance of a PrincessClassic and TheIngenue because she simply looks so pretty and innocent. Raven pretends that she is a victim who's innocent and requires lots of compassion and sympathy from others, but instead, she uses her illness to manipulate other people into feeling sorry for her. Raven's perfect girl image is nothing more than a facade to hide who she really is– a mentally/emotionally unstable mess of a person who suffers from major identity and self esteem issues. Never mind the constant personal and family problems that she also battles in addition to her health issues and her mental issues.

* ABoyAndHisX: Jason's sidekick as Whistle-Nut the rodeo clown is a gentle bull named Ole (hence, "Whistle-Nut & Ole"). Ole actually misses Jason while he's in the ''Big Brother'' house, which moves him to tears. Ole is also a father of 9 younglings.

* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: Downplayed. Although Matt is nowhere near as universally hated in the house as Raven is, he's still looked down upon by his fellow houseguests. The only person in the house that seems to find Matt tolerable is Raven. Every single houseguest has treated Matt as if he is a leper. Paul, although he was in an alliance with him and was working with him, had commented privately that he found Matt to be irritating because he wasn't useful in the game. Paul found him annoying because all he did was play house with Raven and lose competitions. Paul used Matt as a vote or a pawn and nothing more. Kevin has openly stated that he has found Matt (and Raven) to be incredibly annoying. The dislike between the two reared its ugly head in Week 9 when the two of them got into a huge altercation. Cody said that Matt is, annoyingly, one of the most useless players in the entire house. All of the houseguests have shunned him for his association with Raven.

* AntiHero: Type II (KnightInSourArmor). For the most part, Matt is a decent NiceGuy but at the same time, he's also aligned with the dark or bad side of the house as he's one of Paul's most devoted minions and followers. He can be rather nasty and vicious when he wants to be but for the vast majority of the time, Matt means well and has generally good intentions (especially where Raven is concerned). He's willing to go against the grain and break some rules for those he cares about or those he's aligned with. In regards to Matt's CharacterAlignment, he started out as somewhere between LawfulGood and NeutralGood and eventually slid farther down the scale to somewhere between LawfulNeutral and ChaoticNeutral.

** Matt has never cared for Kevin on a personal level and the two were never closely aligned in the game. Matt has stated that he doesn't like or trust Kevin because, like a lot of other people in the house, he finds him to be fake, shady and dishonest. Matt also dislikes Kevin because he's heard from other houseguests that Kevin constantly talks crap about him and Raven behind his back (such as how annoying Matt and Raven are, how unfunny they both are, and how useless they are in the game, etc.). Matt, of course, has taken this personally and in turn has targeted Kevin. In Week 9, Matt and Kevin get into a bit of a blowup when tensions rise between the two. Kevin instigates a fight with Matt in the backyard by trying to say that Matt is talking crap about him and making up lies about him. Matt gets angry and confronts Kevin by suggesting that Kevin is trying to threaten him. In Kevin's goodbye message to Matt, Kevin shows that he has no love loss for Matt when he simply says "Matt, take care. Goodbye." Although the animosity between the two isn't as bad as it is between some of the other houseguests, there's still no friendly times between the two.

* BeardOfEvil: Downplayed. Matt isn't really evil per say, but he does work for the BigBad Paul and he's TheDragon for him.
* BerserkButton:
** Normally, Matt is a calm and collected guy, but it's a really bad idea to personally attack Raven. When Raven told Matt that Cody said a romantic relationship wouldn't work between Raven and Cody because she can't have kids due to her illness, Matt called Cody a piece of shit and said that he "could kill him" for saying such a thing. However, this is horrifyingly subverted when it turned out that [[ManipulativeBitch Raven made that lie up about Cody just to incite Matt to face off with Cody if he went to Jury]].

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Matt is normally nice and down to earth, but he can have a rather aggressive streak to him especially if he is triggered into it. Something like attacking him personally or his allies, especially Raven, will reveal a tougher side out of Matt.

* TheBore: Matt's a NiceGuy and he's nice to look at but he doesn't really add anything of substance or entertainment in the game. But this is probably because he's OutOfFocus on the live show. What he does is basically shower a lot and chow down on cereal like a starved maniac, but that's it. He has more of personality on the live feeds.

* TheChampion: For Raven. Matt has made it clear throughout the game that he doesn't really care about winning the game himself and that he cares more about Raven advancing to the end so that she can possibly win. In regards to Raven, Matt is very selfless and understanding towards her because she's his romantic partner, and he has extra sympathy for her due to her illness (Gastroparesis) and knows that she could use the money more than him. Even when Matt and Raven were on the block against each other in Week 9, Matt was willing to throw his game under the bus for Raven by breaking the Have Not rules (eating food, taking hot showers, sleeping in a regular bed) so that he would earn numerous penalty votes that would ensure he would go home over Raven.

** CoDragons: With most of the other houseguests for Paul of course, but most commonly with Raven as she is Matt's number one ally. Both are TheDragon to Paul and have been working with him since the start of the game. Even though Matt is aligned with Paul, Matt doesn't really contribute anything of serious value to Paul and his game. But what he does contribute to Paul is his UndyingLoyalty to him by basically doing everything that he wants or asks. Matt also helps get out all of Paul's wanted targets by voting them out or going up as a pawn to ensure an intended target goes home. Also in Week 7, Matt won the POV and instead of using it to take himself off the block, he followed Paul's plan and chose to take Jason off instead so that Alex would replace him with Cody as the backdoor replacement nominee. It's also assumed that if Raven doesn't make Final 2, he would be a guaranteed jury vote for Paul.

** NobleTopEnforcer: Matt is far more moral and noble than Paul is. While Matt is a genuinely NiceGuy with a side of BewareTheNiceOnes, GoodIsNotNice and GoodIsNotSoft, he's significantly less manipulative, aggressive and ruthless in terms of gameplay style. Matt is more calm and down to earth while Paul is more cutthroat. Matt has also never gotten personal in the game or resorted to attacking or bullying other houseguests. And he didn't always agree with some of the antics or behavior that Paul would pull at times. However, it's not wise to make an enemy out of him or anger him for [[BewareTheNiceOnes he can be rather nasty and vicious when he's provoked into anger!]]

* GoodIsNotNice: Matt can be rather unpleasant when he's angered or provoked. In Week 9, Matt completely went off on Jason for not honouring his word in using the POV on either Matt or Raven. He got into a screaming match with him in front of the entire house and repeatedly called Jason a coward and a liar for not upholding his word. On the week he was a Have Not, Matt threw a temper tantrum and broke the Have Not rules by eating regular food, taking a hot shower, and sleeping in a regular bed. That earned him a penalty vote (one automatic eviction vote against him) at the live eviction. It was thought that Matt was a genuinely nice guy (and he still is for the most part) but when he doesn't get his way, he displays a rather nasty and mean streak.
* GoodIsNotSoft: Matt is a genuinely nice person to those he trusts, likes or considers to be his allies and friends. However, he doesn't always extend that same nice side to those he doesn't like or those he sees as his enemies. Matt didn't care for Cody and had no problem with throwing him under the bus repeatedly despite being aligned with him earlier on in the game, though that made sense because Cody proved to be too disloyal and untrustworthy to work with. Matt wasn't all that nice to Jason when Jason had decided to not exercise the POV and take either Matt or Raven off the block in order to put up Kevin in Week 9. In fact, a rather vicious and nasty side came out of Matt when he yelled at him and called him a liar repeatedly.

* ShipTease: With Raven. They have somewhat of a WillTheyOrWontThey relationship. Best seen when Raven complains about getting stitches and he goes "That's the first time I've heard you yell. Raven jokes, "[[ImmodestOrgasm I promise it won't be the last time.]]"

* {{Adorkable}}: Can be very likeable and endearing, especially in his interactions with Kevin, Paul, Josh and Alex. He also has a habit of being somewhat awkward at times, which adds to his endearing qualities.

* AntiHero: Type II (KnightInSourArmor). For the most part, Jason is a good person but he's also made some morally questionable actions and decisions throughout the game. In addition, although he normally does try to be as positive as possible, he can also be rather cynical and paranoid at times. He's also TheDragon to the BigBad Paul and he's willing to do all of his dirty work for him. In regards to Jason's CharacterAlignment, Jason started out as NeutralGood and eventually descended down to ChaoticNeutral with slight LawfulNeutral or LawfulEvil shades.

* BewareTheSillyOnes: Jason is a BoisterousBruiser who is fun-loving, humorous and extroverted but behind that is someone who could be a major dark horse to make it to the end in the game. Nobody is actively targeting him and he does have a rather strong social game which is evident in how many allies he has.

** DragonInChief: Inverted. Although Jason is somewhat of a big threat in the house, Paul is still the de facto FinalBoss of the season. Jason has proven to be one of the strongest social and competitive threats but Paul much more of a threat than Jason because Paul is a competitive, social and strategic threat.

* AffablyEvil: Raven appears sociable and friendly on the surface–that is until you completely piss her off and provoke her into anger and then she becomes FauxAffablyEvil. What's scary is that Raven can easily switch between acting friendly and sweet and then suddenly snap and change into someone who is very unpredictable, aggressive and volatile. Because of her ability to switch from friendly and set to mean and vicious, Raven comes across as someone who's CuteAndPsycho and maybe even a little on the AxCrazy side because of how unstable she is.

* AmbiguouslyEvil: Now that Raven is out of the game and no longer in the house, it's uncertain if Raven could be considered to be someone that's villainous or evil. Outside of the house and going by the jury segment footage, it seems that she's someone who's highly delusional, crazy, and unstable but pretty harmless. The only reason she's classified as more of a villain while in the house was because of her association with Paul (who's the BiggerBad) and her mean, aggressive, and cruel behavior and treatment towards other houseguests. Raven wasn't the nicest person, but she's not completely bad either. She's just really delusional and out of touch with reality.

* AxeCrazy: Downplayed. She classifies as someone who is CuteAndPsycho. Raven, for the most part, is harmless, but when she is provoked into anger, she's downright scary, volatile and comes across as unstable. The fact that she's also a {{Cloudcuckoolander}} and she hides her nasty and volatile side makes her even scarier. After getting into a fight with Jessica in Week 5, everyone in the house had commented how they were shocked at Raven coming across as emotionally unstable. Paul even stated while he was alone that Raven was crazy. Also, in Week 9, Raven went batshit crazy on Jason when he decided not to use the POV on either Matt or Raven when he had made a deal and told them that he would. Raven became extremely volatile and was just screaming at him non stop. The fact that something like a game move could make Raven erupt into a volcano of anger and hostility shows how mentally unstable she really is.

* BlackSheep: Once Josh matures and starts to develop better social skills and makes new allies, Raven starts to become the ostracized and left out one in the house. Everybody in the house shuns her and nobody wants to hang out with her. They believe that she is the strange one of the house and that because of her eccentricities, she just doesn't belong or fit in. Because of her personality and her personal struggles, she's the houseguest that sticks out like a sore thumb. Because of the fact that Raven is different from everyone else (especially being the only one who is suffering from a debilitating illness), Raven is often left out and many people constantly talk badly about her behind her back. Paul has commented that he can't stand Raven on personal level and that he sees her as unstable and crazy. He doesn't like that she is always following him around the house and trying to copy everything that he does and says. Christmas views Raven as completely immature and someone who is annoying because of how much she constantly plays the victim card so that she can get attention and sympathy. Christmas has also expressed that she can't stand Raven because she is always trying to exaggerate everything about her life so that she can one up people and that makes Christmas incredibly irritated. Alex and Jason thought that Raven was completely mentally unstable and that her stories simply didn't add up because all she did was embellish the truth about her personal life. Alex and Jason, along with Paul, would often be the ones to constantly trash talk her and be the ones to make fun of her behind her back. Kevin just plain didn't like Raven from the beginning and he found her to be a waste of space. Josh feels some sympathy for Raven due to her being sick and being an emotionally sensitive and vulnerable girl but he still didn't care for her all that much of because of her unlikeable personality and her constant need for attention. Cody and Jessica couldn't stand Raven because all she did was make up lies about the both of them. Raven lied about Cody saying that he came onto her at the beginning of the game and that he told her that they couldn't be a couple because she was infertile. Cody found out the truth from Alex and he was not amused at all. And Jessica and Raven used to be friends, that is until she decided to throw Jessica under the bus by saying that it was Jessica that was the one who stole Alex's cat ears and poured out her Coke when it was Raven that was the one who did it. The only person that Raven is not a black sheep with in the house is Matt. Nobody has any respect for Raven in the house and everyone likes to make fun of her. She's basically the laughing stock of the entire house.

* CorruptTheCutie: Double Subverted. Paul seems like he would have been the one responsible for Raven becoming a completely awful and vile person. Raven still puts on a facade of someone who is nice, sweet and friendly, but she's actually always been terrible and unpleasant.

* CreepyChild: Inverted. Raven is 23 but she acts extremely childish and immature for her age and doesn't come off as someone who's a young adult. In fact, Raven's cute and childish behavior is a facade to hide how AxCrazy and mentally unstable she really is, which adds to her creep factor. See CuteAndPsycho.

* DamselInDistress: Raven plays herself off as the victim who's completely harmless and not an actual threat, the one in constant need of protection and saving by other people, primarily the men. She hasn't won any competitions and she's been pretty useless in the game. Matt, Paul and the other male players are often trying to protect her and keep her in the game. Overall, Raven was one of the most useless houseguests in the house and the only reason that she got as far as she did was because she was someone who was easy to beat at the end and the houseguests just wanted to drag her to the end because it would be easy to beat her in the hard competitions whether they were mental or physical.

* DecoyDamsel: Raven seems like she's nothing more than a DamselInDistress in the game who's completely useless and doesn't really contribute anything game wise, but she's actually somewhat of a threat because she's TheDragon to Paul and has been working for him all along since the beginning of the game.

** BlindObedience: Raven seemed to follow Paul's orders or whatever he says with no questions asked. She never questioned him in any way because she felt that he had UndyingLoyalty to her. Raven was the biggest puppet to Paul and Paul manipulated the hell out of her because she was extremely gullible and was willing to obey everything that Paul asked. If she had actually questioned Paul, such as his intentions in the game or even his loyalty to her, she may not have come off as someone who was completely naive and stupid. Her extreme loyalty to Paul made her blind to the fact that she couldn't see that Paul actually disliked her on an immense level. She was so blindly obedient of Paul that she didn't recognize that Paul was secretly plotting her demise in the game.
** [[KickTheDog Cruelty]]: Raven appeared as though she was a NiceGirl who was sweet, friendly and compassionate. but her true colors came out and what was revealed was someone who was very nasty, mean spirited and cruel. Raven would constantly bash or trash talk other houseguests behind their back, even if they have done nothing to deserve it. In the first week, Raven stole Alex's cat ears and poured out all of her Coke all because she hated Alex. In Week 5, she humiliated Jessica in front of the entire house by yelling at her and calling her many derogatory names including the C word. She didn't stop there and continued to bully and harass Cody and Jessica during the bullying tirade. She didn't show and remorse for what she did and actually seemed proud of her behavior. Her treatment of Matt was also excessively problematic. She would constantly beat him, hit him or yell at him when he wasn't doing what she wanted him to do. Their relationship was so problematic that it came across as DomesticAbuse to some of the other houseguests as well as to some fans. Raven, overall, is a very nasty, cruel mean girl and she takes the cake in regards to the biggest bitch in the house next to maybe Alex.

* MarySue: Subverted. On the surface, it seemed as if Raven was the "perfect girl". She was the sweet, kind, caring and compassionate SouthernBelle who was the ultimate NiceGirl–so nice in fact that she could pass herself off as someone who's an AllLovingHero. She's also incredibly loving and friendly and has such a strong social game and ability to make friends that she was going to be so popular and loved by everyone in the house! Let's not forget that she's an accomplished and trained dancer and she also teaches it for a living so that means that she's super duper talented! Or how about the fact that Raven is physically beautiful and almost has the appearance of a PrincessClassic and TheIngenue because she simply looks so pretty and innocent. * OdangoHair: Sometimes wears her hair in two high buns, as seen in the above photo. Interestingly enough, her hair style gives her a rather girlish and childish appearance. Her signature hair style may be somewhat strategic in order to make her appear more cute and innocent than she really is. See GirlishPigtails.

* {{Yandere}}: Towards Paul, especially now that Matt is gone. Raven has become extremely clingy, dependent towards Paul and has become rather obsessed with him. She's become a StalkerWithACrush and she follows him around the house everywhere he goes. She also copies him or mimics him overtime she is around him. Her obsession with Paul has caused him to frequently complain to other houseguests that Raven makes him very uncomfortable and he's even admitted that he doesn't feel "safe" in her presence because of her creepy behavior towards him. Raven has even veered into MurderTheHypotenuse territory with her wanting to eliminate every single person that is friends or aligned with Paul, starting with Jason and Alex. It seems that Raven wants everyone out of the way so that she will be Paul's only ally in the house.

* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Matt's a cereal-eating machine! It is so bad that the people responsible for restocking the house with cereal actually stopped buying SMORES brand cereal because Matt was burning through them ''that'' quickly. He even decided to pause in the middle of a POV competition to snack on cereal with a Cereal Counter rolling up to 725, and that's not all- Matt ate cereal while he was under Have-Not rules to eat slop, so in doing so, he incurred a penalty vote. Even before and after his eviction, the live Twitter feeds were blowing up with outcries that this will put an end to his cereal record and to think on the bright side that there's bound to be plenty of cereal in the Jury House.

* AffablyEvil: Jason is a genuinely NiceGuy despite the fact that he's TheDragon to Paul and is part of the "dark side" of the house. But just because Jason is nice doesn't mean that he's any pushover either. Just stay out of his way or don't get in his cross hairs and he'll remain the lovable, dorky, and goofy guy that he normally is.

* AmbiguouslyEvil: All in all Jason is a good guy, but he's still fighting for the bad side and working for the BigBad Paul. He's not completely evil but he's not all good either in terms of the game. It's really hard to place him in regards to moral alignment in the game because he's both a decent person and he's aligning or working with the bad side and has for the majority of the game.

* BaldOfAwesome: Jason is mostly bald headed although nobody can tell most of the time because he's constantly seen wearing a [[NiceHat cowboy hat]] to cover it up.

* ForgetfulJones: Jason sucks at remembering things/not to do things. Every time a memory challenge takes place in the game, he completely botches it. He does even worse than middle-aged Kevin (who is just [[BrilliantButLazy not applying himself]], age apparently having nothing to do with his sucky memory). The worst offense on his gameplay dossier is somehow managing to make a promise to '''take Raven off the eviction block''' into a forgotten moment because it was something he just automatically blurted out to make her feel better instead of paying attention to what he was saying well enough to remember he would have to keep his own word.

* ActionGirl: Inverted. Raven has zero competitive ability. She's always playing the DamselInDistress role, the one in constant need of protection and saving by other people, primarily the men. This is in stark contrast to another female houseguest such as Alex, who is incredibly physically active, athletic and competitive. The fact that Raven is a dance teacher and a trained dancer, one would think that she would be a lot more competitive and active when it comes to competitions and competing in general. Even when she did compete during the competitions, she was completely useless and terrible at them. However, if she did manage to excel somewhat at a particular competition, it was mostly the endurance or physical competitions, but this could be because she's a dancer and many of the endurance comps require balance and focus, two things that are crucial in the world of dance. Not only was Raven not an action girl in terms of competitions, but she also wasn't' much of an action girl in terms of social game and strategic game. She was useless there as well. Her social game was weak because nobody in the house liked her or wanted to be aligned with her. And her strategic game was so non existent that Paul was the one who took over her brains 100% of the time because of the lack of intelligence in Raven. Overall, Raven was one of the most useless houseguests in the house and the only reason that she got as far as she did was because she was someone who was easy to beat at the end and the houseguests just wanted to drag her to the end because it would be easy to beat her in the hard competitions whether they were mental or physical.

* CuteClumsyGirl: Definitely has her moments where she comes across as not the most graceful. This is kind of ironic because Raven is a dance teacher for a living, a profession which often requires good balance and grace.

* ChickMagnet: At the very beginning of the game, many of the female houseguests (such as Dominique, Raven, and Elena) had found Matt to be very physically attractive and appealing. It's not a shock considering that he's a {{Hunk}} that loves to go [[ShirtlessScene without his shirt]] from time to time.

* GoodIsNotSoft: Matt is a genuinely nice person to those he trusts, likes or considers to be his allies and friends. However, he doesn't always extend that same nice side to those he doesn't like or those he sees as his enemies. Matt didn't care for Cody and had no problem with throwing him under the bus repeatedly despite being aligned with him earlier on in the game. Although Matt not having any loyalty to Cody made sense for his game because Cody had proven to be too disloyal and untrustworthy to work with. And he wasn't all that nice to Jason when Jason had decided to not exorcise the POV and take either Matt or Raven off the block in order to put up Kevin in Week 9. In fact, a rather vicious and nasty side came out of Matt when he yelled at him and called him a liar repeatedly.

* KnightInShiningArmour: He tries to play this role for Raven, who could be considered his DamselInDistress. Matt has repeatedly stated that he doesn't care about winning the game but that his intentions are to get Raven as far as he can in the game so that she can get to the end and potentially win. Matt has been willing to fall on his sword for her and protect her with everything, not just because she is his romantic partner, but because she is an IllGirl who suffers from Gastroparesis and needs the money the most because of it.

* ManChild: Downplayed.
** For the most part, Matt acts like a regular adult. But when he doesn't get his way, he can resort to throwing a tantrum, a SpoiledBrat and a SoreLoser. In Week 9 after Jason refused to use the POV to remove Matt or Raven from the block and instead replace one of them with Kevin, Matt decided to lash out in anger by breaking the Have Not rules as a Have Not such as eating regular food when he's supposed to be on slop, taking hot showers instead of cold showers, and sleeping in a regular bed instead of a Have Not room bed. Many fans complained that they found Matt's behavior completely childish and immature and that because of his actions, he should have been kicked out or expelled for his behavior and for insulting the integrity of the game.
** In addition, his behavior and the way that he acts when he's around Raven can come across as downright silly and immature. Many question how a 33-year-old guy like Matt could act so immaturely over a girl that he has known for only a short period of time. Sometimes he will get into silly and unnecessary play fights with Raven which make him come across as a lovesick teenaged puppy that has never been in love before. Many of the other houseguests (in addition to some fans) have found Matt's interactions with Raven to be childish, silly and annoying.

* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Every single houseguest (except Raven) refers to him as Matt. However, Raven is the exception as she frequently calls him Matthew. Sometimes she will call him by his full name, Matthew John Clines, especially whenever she's trying to make a statement or a point to him in frustration.

* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: Downplayed. Although Matt is nowhere near as universally hated in the house as Raven is, he's still rather disliked and looked down upon by his fellow houseguests. The only person in the house that seems to find Matt tolerable is nobody other than Raven. Every single houseguest has treated Matt as if he is a leper. Paul, although he was in an alliance with him and was working with him, had commented privately that he found Matt to be irritating because he wasn't useful in the game. Paul found him annoying because all that he did was play house with Raven and lose competitions. Paul used Matt as a vote or a pawn and nothing more. Kevin has openly stated that he has found Matt (and Raven) to be incredibly annoying. The dislike between the two reared its ugly head in Week 9 when the two of them got into a huge altercation. Cody said that Matt is, annoyingly, one of the most useless players in the entire house. All of the houseguests have shunned him because of his association with Raven.

* AnnoyingLaugh: Many live feed watchers as well as even some of the other houseguests, notably Paul and Kevin, have commented how they can't stand hearing Matt laugh because they find it irritating to listen to. Kevin in particular hates listening to Matt laugh because he thinks that Matt laughs at any joke that is said, even if the joke is not that funny. Josh had even compared Matt's laugh to sounding similar to ''Film/WhiteChicks''.

** Matt and Jason were never really aligned with each other although they did work together by common association with other houseguests (mainly Paul). However, Matt and Jason became quick enemies when Jason had nominated him and Raven in Week 9 and had promised that if he were to win the POV, that he would remove either Matt or Raven from the block and replace one of them with Kevin as a backdoor nominee. Jason won the POV and went back on his word to Matt and Raven by not using the POV on one of them and nixing the idea of backdooring Kevin (much to not only Matt and Raven's dismay, but his number one allies Paul and Alex's). After the Veto Ceremony, Matt got into a HUGE fight with Jason when he had confronted him for lying and going back on his word that he was intending or promising to use the POV if he won it. Matt resorted to yelling at Jason and calling him many nasty names such as a liar, a coward and a pussy. Matt made it clear that he didn't like or trust Jason because Matt realized Jason was someone who was dishonest, disloyal and a coward.

** Normally, Matt is a calm and collected guy, but it's a really bad idea to personally attack Raven. When Raven had told Matt about what Cody said to her about a romantic relationship not working out between Raven and Cody because she can't have kids due to her illness, Matt called Cody a piece of shit and said that he "could kill him" for saying such a thing. However, this is horrifyingly subverted when it turned out that [[ManipulativeBitch Raven made that lie up about Cody just to incite Matt to face off with Cody if he went to Jury]].

* TheChampion: For Raven. Matt has made it clear throughout the game that he doesn't really care about winning the game himself and that he cares more about Raven advancing to the end so that she can possibly win. In regards to Raven, Matt is very selfless and understanding towards her because she is romantic partner, and he has extra sympathy for her due to her illness (Gastroparesis) and knows that she could use the money more than him. Even when Matt and Raven were on the block against each other in Week 9, Matt was willing to throw his game under the bus for Raven by breaking the Have Not rules (eating food, taking hot showers, sleeping in a regular bed) so that he would earn numerous penalty votes and he would ensure that he would be going home over Raven.

* SickeninglySweethearts: With Raven, to the point where Alex refers to them collectively as "[[Literature/AliceInWonderland Tweedledum and Tweedledee]]" for being annoying and stupid for each other. Especially Matt- Matt's basically Raven's steed for the entire game and had lost all desire to really play to win on Day 3, feeling like Raven should win instead, even turning into her advocate for Gastroparesis awareness. That's why he does nothing but act as wandering scenery for a large portion of the summer.

* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: Subverted. Raven seemed to have originally had a thing for Cody at the start of the game, but she eventually realizes that she doesn't like his personality. Instead of going for Cody, she romances [[SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan Matt]] instead while Cody ends up romancing [[AlphaBitch Jessica]].

* TheBadGuyWins: Subverted. Raven was someone that could have easily been dragged all the way to the Final 3 or even worse, the Final 2. Which is why the other houseguests were hesitant in keeping her in the game for too long because she was such a good person to take to the end and potentially beat. She could also have possibly won enough jury votes to win because her sympathy card (due to her hard life and her illness) is through the roof and the jury would feel compelled to vote for her because of this fact. However, her life in the game is ultimately cut short on Double Eviction when the house decides to evict her so that she doesn't have the slightest chance of winning.
* BadLiar: Although Raven is a ConsummateLiar who embellishes things and lies by making up stories, she's actually a really horrible liar because she's just not convincing or doesn't make her lies come off as believable. Other than her embellished and unrealistic stories that she tells about her life, she's also a horrible liar on a game related level. When Jessica felt paranoid about the vote regarding Josh being evicted over Ramses, Jessica had asked Raven upfront of she was going to vote out Josh 100% over Ramses. Raven gave a very iffy answer along with a suspicious expression but ultimately told her that she would vote out Josh. Going by her facial expression, her eye contact and her body language, she didn't conceal the fact that she was lying. Before Jessica asked Raven about her voting out Josh, Raven, along with Paul and Matt, were scheming and planning on voting out Ramses. The fact that Jessica couldn't see through Raven and sense that she was lying straight to her face about the Josh vote is shocking considering how obvious she was that she was lying.
* BaitTheDog: Raven was originally believed to be a NiceGirl who was cheerful, optimistic, and friendly. She did, however, show a mean girl streak in the earlier weeks of the game as she did engage in quite a bit of trash talk with Jessica. In the later weeks, Raven reveals her true colors as a person in Week 5 when she goes on a bullying tirade against Jessica by yelling at her and calling her many derogatory names in front of the entire house. Raven is not the friendly, cheerful and nice person that she pretends to be.
* BareYourMidriff: Raven wears tops or shirts that reveal her midriff. She most likely feels comfortable wearing revealing clothing since she's a dance teacher. In addition, she also probably wears a lot of revealing clothing because she wears a lot of dance costumes that show off many parts of the body.
* BastardGirlfriend: Her relationship with Matt is extremely problematic and even borders on being abusive at times. The way or manner in which Raven treats Matt is not at all nice and respectful. Raven acts like a bitch towards Matt because she is an extreme MoodSwinger in regards to how she interacts with him. Sometimes she can be very friendly, loving and playful towards him and other times, she's mistreating him by yelling at him, screaming at him or hitting him whenever she gets irritated and mad at him. Matt, on the other hand, comes across as an ExtremeDoormat when it comes to Raven and her treatment of him. He almost never stands up for himself against her. Many fans as well as the other houseguests have constantly trash talked Raven and how she treats Matt. They find Raven and Matt's relationship to be borderline DomesticAbuse as Raven emotionally and physically abuses Matt pretty frequently and Matt just seems to take it and let Raven walk all over him.
* BattleCouple: Averted with Matt. Raven and Matt were the worst competitors out of all of the other showmances including Maven and Jody. Unlike Maven, who did nothing but play house together all summer, at least the other couples managed o actually play the game to an extent whether it was through winning competitions, socializing or having some degree of game or strategy.
* BeautyIsBad: Raven is a pretty girl but she has a mean, catty and nasty personality underneath all of that sweet SouthernBelle beauty.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Why Raven has so much loyalty to Paul because he's one of the few people that showed that he genuinely cared about her on a personal level. Raven became clingy towards Paul because she realized that he was someone that supported her and was willing to be her friend. What Raven doesn't realize is that Paul thinks that Raven is incredibly annoying and useless and he in fact doesn't want to have anything to do with her.
* BelievingTheirOwnLies: Raven constantly lies and embellishes things and she seems to seriously believe that they are reality. One example was when Raven made up that Cody had come onto her before the live feeds had come on and that Raven turned her down with Cody saying that it was for the best because she couldn't bear children anyways, which made Matt made enough to kill Cody [[ManipulativeBitch all because of what Raven told him]]. It seems that she has used this lie about Cody in order to make him look bad to the rest of the house.
* BeneathTheMask: It seemed as if Raven was a NiceGirl who was sweet, friendly, affable and a SouthernBelle. However, underneath, she's really an AlphaBitch who's mean, nasty, vile and EvilAllAlong.

* BrattyTeenageDaughter: Downplayed. Raven isn't a teenager as she's 23 years old but she displays teenage like behavior and she comes off as a SpoiledBrat who throws a tantrum when she doesn't get her way. Much of her bratty behavior is because Raven just has so much growing up to do. When Raven doesn't get what she wants she becomes extremely whiny. It's no wodner why a large portion of the audience finds her so irritating.

* ConsummateLiar: [[https://www.youtube.com/v/vYzHUlpmJb0 Raven is always making up stories about her personal life]], such as going on on how much tragedy that she has endured and how many injuries she has. She has also lied about Cody having come onto her before the live feeds came on. According to her, Raven turned him down and Cody told her that it's probably for the best that she turned him down since she can't have children. She also has a habit of exaggerating and embellishing things, including about her Gastroparesis, in attempts to gain sympathy and pity from the other houseguests. By Week 10, the houseguests, especially Paul, have noticed and are actively pointing out that Raven says a lot of things (for example her and her momma being in [[UsefulNotes/{{Mensa}} Mensa]]- and going on to say her GPA is ''[[InsaneTrollLogic Dance]]'' but that she also studied in Business- and her and her mother being an Olympic athlete) that are so nonsensical that they cannot be true. Paul outright calls Raven a compulsive liar, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQTm81h4_us and gets a kick out of the things she says.]] Furthermore, not only does she say Paul's band's single is already number one despite not being made yet, [[TakeThat she likes Paul's band and Christmas says that's a stretch]] (cue Paul making a DeathGlare at Christmas). She also says she stopped growing at 13 (which is why she's so short; there might be some truth mixed into that one), had 48 surgeries (also plausible), her family has a death book, she possesses impeccable music skills, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axkGB6ol1SU has a pet hedgehog]], has "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBJX7YvbmIc Rough Kneecap Syndrome]]" in her right knee that requires surgery for shaving, can't go through metal detectors because of her pacemaker and when Kevin asks if she's vulnerable to thunderstorms, states her mom (which Paul thinks is an anomaly to which Raven says she sorta is) has been struck by lightning (making Paul think her mom's lightning-proof), and Raven claiming she has an inverted spine. And that's not even the richest story she's got. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CSm6_gv9fM She had a relative]] on the ''Titanic.''

* TheLoad: All in all, Raven is completely useless in the game. She doesn't seem to have any strong aspects to her gameplay. Socially, she only interacts with Matt and Paul and everyone in the house has grown to dislike her or they find her to be annoying. Competitively, she's the worst competitor in the entire house and she has never won any competition such as an HOH or a POV to ensure her own safety or in order to make moves. And strategically, she is just completely lacking all together. The only role that Raven serves in the game is being TheDragon (or minion and puppet) to BigBad Paul whom she sees as her master. Everything that Raven has done in the game (not that she's done anything!) has been dictated by someone else, mainly Paul and Matt. Raven is such a non-entity in this game on a social, competitive, and strategic level. The only thing that she contributes to the game is embellishes stories and exaggerating things for attention and sympathy. Considering how useless Raven is and how she's nothing but furniture, why is she even a houseguest to begin with?
* LongHairIsFeminine: Raven is the most girly female houseguest in the house next to Jessica and she also has the longest hair in the house (it's unsure whether her hair is real or if they are hair extensions).

* TheMillstone: Raven has been completely useless for the entire game. She won no competitions, had no social game and had no idea about strategy. All she contributed in the game was her bad cooking, constantly lying and embellishing stories about her personal life, and playing house as well as shacking it up with Matt. That's right. Raven's one major contribution all summer in the game was hooking up with Matt and nabbing a boyfriend that she could cling onto all summer. Raven's uselessness was seen by the other houseguests as well. Paul saw her as nothing more than a liability for his game. Paul would constantly trash talk her and say that she has done nothing in the game but talk crap about everyone and lie about her personal life. All of the houseguests celebrated when they were finally free of her and she was evicted. Raven also made herself come off as extra useless because she would constantly play the victim card by using her illness to gain sympathy from others. This in turn would cause the other houseguests to want to keep her safe in the game and not want to get rid of her while letting all of the other houseguests do all of the dirty work to keep her in the game. Talk about a waste of Big Brother space.
* MoodSwinger: Why she's so widely disliked. She was deceptively billed in the promos and pre-show interview as a cute and innocent girl, but that's real just one facet of a roulette wheel of instability. No one can tell if Raven is being of sound mind or is an unstable fruitcake waiting to explode, and they think she's got problems. [[AxCrazy BIG]] problems. It's apparent that she's suffering from a mental disorder such as [[HollywoodPersonalityDisorders Borderline Personality Disorder]] or even BipolarDisorder.

At most, he's an ActionSurvivor who's used his social game as well as his blind loyalty and obedience to Paul to stay in the game as long as he did.

* HeroesWantRedheads: His attraction to Raven, who is redheaded. Eventually, Matt ends up engaging in a showmance with her.

* OnlySaneMan: Out of a jury house filled with very angry, bitter jurors that are mad at Paul for playing the game, Matt is the least bitter and understands that Paul played the best game out of everyone in the house. At the Jury Roundtable segment, Matt calls out numerous other houseguest for their unnecessary anger and bitterness regarding Paul lying and backstabbing to get where he is. He even calls out Mark for being bitter and being a hypocrite. Matt and Raven coming off as the least bitter and the most sane and logical out of the rest of the jury members is the probably one of the most shocking plot twists of the season.

* SickeninglySweethearts: With Raven, to the point where Alex refers to them collectively as "[[Literature/AliceInWonderland Tweedledum and Tweedledee]]" for being annoying, and, let's face it, stupid for each other. Especially Matt- Matt's basically Raven's steed for the entire game and had lost all desire to really play to win on Day 3, feeling like Raven should win instead, even turning into her advocate for Gastroparesis awaraness. That's why he does nothing but act as wandering scenery for a large portion of the summer.

* TooDumbToLive: He does not even seem to realise the obvious red flag of being nominated even as a pawn until it's too late. Even though Paul and Christmas told him who to evict... he didn't put two and two together.

* UndyingLoyalty: To RAVEN and PAUL, oh so much. Matt is willing to throw away his game for Raven and sacrifice himself for her so that she could get farther in the game. Makes sense since she is his romantic partner in the house. And Matt has always had extreme loyalty and obedience (almost blind) to Paul since the start of the game. In fact, he stated in his Eviction Interview with Julie Chen that Paul and Raven are the two best players in the game and he would like to see one or the both of them in the Final 2 as they would have his Jury Vote.

* ThirteenIsUnlucky: When he dropped Christmas on her foot, causing it to break, it just so happened to be Day 13. At first, it didn't seem that Jason suffered and consequences or repercussions for what he did to Christmas (by accident). But come Week 10, Christmas ends up sealing Jason's fate when she's the tie-breaker vote that ends up sending him out the door. Looks like bad luck or karma came to strike back at Jason and it happened to come from the person that he accidentally caused injury and harm to.

* AlasPoorVillain: Many of the people felt really bad that Jason was evicted. Christmas felt terrible for voting out Jason. When she had cast the tie breaking vote to evict him, she was in tears and couldn't hold her composure. Josh was already crying before the votes were announced and while Christmas was in the process of casting the vote to evict him. Josh also felt extremely saddened and guilty that Jason was being blindsided and that he had to keep it a secret all week. Paul, even though he was the one to plan and orchestrate Jason's demise, felt extremely bad that he had to send one of his closest friends and allies home. He didn't take it lightly and was noticeably remorseful over what he did. Kevin also felt saddened by Jason's eviction because he was close to Jason on a personal level and he felt horrible that he was not only sitting on the block against him but that he knew of the plan to blindside him out of the house. Alex was extremely upset and distraught over Jason's unexpected exit to the extent that she was shedding BrokenTears. Alex never fully recovered emotionally and game wise after Jason left and she had an emotional breakdown when she came to the realization that she was going home and that Jason was her only trustworthy ally in the house. The only one that didn't really care that much about Jason leaving was Raven, but that's understandable since Raven was still very angry about him going back on his word to use the POV and was the root cause of Matt going home.

** TheCreon: Jason is okay with playing TheDragon role to Paul and has no desire to take over his role as the leader or BigBad. He has even admitted to Paul's face that he would be completely okay with sitting next to Paul and losing to someone like him in the Final 2. Also, Jason doesn't want the responsibility of being a leader and he much prefers being led by Paul.
** DevourTheDragon: Although Jason is one of Paul's closest allies in the game, Paul has been targeting Jason for the past few weeks. He has started to see that Jason is a huge threat because he is the link between Kevin and Alex, is a strong social and competitive threat, and is in a very strong duo with Alex, who is also a good competitor. In Week 8, Mark was always the original target but if Jason didn't win the POV that week, Paul most likely would have targeted Jason and had gotten him evicted.
** DragonInChief: Inverted. Although Jason is somewhat of a big threat in the house, Paul is still the de facto FinalBoss of the season. Jason has proven to be one of the strongest social and competitive threats but Paul much more of a threat than Jason because Paul is a competitive, social and strategic threat.

* EnemyMine: It appeared as though Jason (along with Alex) was going to work with Cody and Jessica in order to try to take out Paul and some of his other followers. But Jason, along with Alex, ends up betraying Cody and Jessica and decides to work with Paul and becomes extremely loyal to him instead.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even though Jason is working for the bad side, that doesn't mean Jason has completely lost his values and morals. Jason wasn't that big of a fan of all of the bullying that was going on against Jody in Week 5, despite being in opposition to them. He told Mark that he didn't like all the bullying that Josh was doing and felt that they were only causing more problems and unwanted tension in the house. In Week 9, Jason chose to not betray Kevin by putting him on the block when Matt and Raven wanted him to. He realizes that Kevin had done nothing to him on a personal or game level and the least he could do was to keep his word to Kevin that he wouldn't nominate him amor throw him to the wolves. Jason had a closer personal bond with Kevin than he did with either Matt or Raven so it was an easy decision for him.

** Downplayed. Christmas gave him the Ve-Toad curse after he accidentally broke Christmas's foot when roughhousing in the backyard, but he took it all in good humor and remarked that, as a rodeo clown, it wasn't even close to being the most embarrassing getup he's ever worn. Also, Christmas didn't do it out of spite, instead choosing him for the curse to fill the last slot because he'd be the only one okay with it.
** Played Straight, however, in the second Double-Eviction. After Mark [[TheCassandra points out that Paul is the one really calling the shots and anyone who doesn't do exactly as he says goes]], Jason [[TooDumbToLive throws him under the bus and joins on the campaign to get rid of him, even volunteering to go up as a pawn and doesn't even consider the possibility of him going out]]. Sure enough, it's ''his'' decision ''not'' to nominate Kevin (because he felt Kevin might have gone out) the previous week, and Paul who sends him out (and attempts to frame Josh and Christmas for it), and Jason immediately sees right through it (and even blames Alex.)
* LightIsNotGood: Jason commonly wears light colored clothing and he's aligned with the bad side (meaning he's TheDragon to the BigBad Paul).
* LikeAnOldMarriedCouple: With Alex. The two constantly fight and playfully bicker with each other like they are a married couple. Even Holly, Jason's real life wife, referred to Alex as being Jason's "Big Brother wife" because she constantly challenges him and keeps him on his toes.
* LovableJock: He's a rodeo clown for a living and he's an incredibly NiceGuy ([[BewareTheNiceOnes at least most of the time]]).
* MortonsFork: Save Kevin and earn the wrath of the house or end up throwing him under the bus? Either way, he gets labeled a coward, except one is more destructive to his game, and the other to his self-worth. What's more important? His buddy.
* MotorMouth: Jason speaks a lot and he also talks really fast when he gets really excited or nervous. Sometimes he talks to much that he has loose lips and CannotKeepASecret. Alex frequently calls him out for blurting out too much information when he shouldn't.

* AlasPoorVillain: Subverted. After Raven, aka the IllGirl, was evicted, NOBODY shed a tear or showed regret over her being evicted. In fact, everyone in the house celebrated her eviction (after the agony of Double Eviction Week blindsides died down, of course) and went immediately into bashing her (with very good reason to) and talking about how happy they are that she's finally gone.

* AndThereWasMuchRejoicing: Nobody in the house liked Raven or cared about her well being in the game. So when she is unexpectedly evicted on Double Eviction night in Week 11, everyone celebrated because they were all annoyed with her.

* DeepSouth: Raven is from the South as she's originally from Arkansas. Due to this, it was assumed that she was a sweet SouthernBelle but turns out that she's anything but when her true colors end up being revealed in the later weeks.
* DefeatMeansFriendship: Subverted. On Double Eviction night, Raven ends up being evicted. But does this prompt her to do a HeelFaceTurn and wish the other houseguests good luck in the game? No. In fact, she downright refuses to hug anyone and continues to act like a SoreLoser and SpoiledBrat. Even though everyone was willing to wish her well and felt sorry for her blindside in that moment. After she was evicted, t he houseguests went right back to hating her for her behavior and the attitude that she displayed on the way out of the house.

** [[HairTriggerTemper Anger]]: Raven has a major HairTriggerTemper and she can be easily set off when she's provoked into anger. Once she gets angry, she becomes completely uncontrollable and it's very hard to calm her down and placate her. She ends up becoming irrational when angry to the point where she seems like she can become very violent and aggressive. She has gotten into many yelling matches with other houseguests because of her being subjected to getting easily angry. Her yelling match with Jessica in Week 5 caused her to come off as batshit crazy to the extent that she became TheBully. Other houseguests have commented that whenever Raven lets her anger take over, she becomes completely scary, intimidating and unrecognizable. other houseguests have said that they are actually scared of Raven when she unleashes her wrath and her anger upon the house. Her inability to control her deep seated anger and temper has also made her a target. She could have easily gone farther in the game without being an active target because she was not that big of a threat competitively. Raven let her anger cause her life span in the game to become shorter.
** BlindObedience: Raven seemed to follow Paul's orders or whatever he says with no questions asked. She never questioned him in any way because she felt that he had UndyingLoyalty to her. Raven was the biggest puppet to Paul and Paul manipulated the hell out of her because she was extremely gullible and was willing to obey everything that Paul asked. If she had actually questioned Paul, such as his intentions in the game or even his loyalty to her, she may not have come off as someone who was completely naive and stupid. Her extreme loyalty to Paul made her blind to the fact that she couldn't see that Paul actually disliked her on an immense level. She was so blindly obedient of Paul that she didn't recognize that Paul was secretly plotting her demise in the game.

* LoveMakesYouCrazy: Raven has always had a strong admiration and loyalty towards Paul. But since Matt has departed the game, Raven has started to display extra strange and irrational behavior when it comes to Paul. She's started to become a creepy, obsessive StalkerWithACrush who ends up following him around the house everywhere that he goes to the point where Paul feels suffocated and uncomfortable whenever she's around him. She also displays strange and crazy behavior by copying and mimicking Paul constantly. Raven's already [[AxCrazy mentally]] [[CuteAndPsycho unstable]] as it is, but she's displaying how unhinged and crazy she is when it comes to her relationship with Paul.

* NeverMyFault: Raven never wants to take responsibility for her behaviour or actions. She chooses to place blame at other people's feet if she happens to act in an unfavorable manner. For example, Raven was the one who acted petty by hiding Alex's cat ears and pouring out all of her Coke simply because she had a personal vendetta against Alex from the start and didn't like her. Did she end up taking responsibility for doing what she did? NO. Instead, she chose to lie and blame Jessica instead by using Jessica's rivalry and dislike of Alex and pinning the blame of her actions on Jessica. During a house fight in Week 5 when Raven and Jessica got into a huge fight with each other, Jessica even told everyone in the house, Alex included, that Raven was the one to steal Alex's cat ears and pour out her Coke. But even though Jessica had confessed the truth in front of everyone, including both Alex and Raven, Raven STILL refused to say that she was the one who did what she did. Instead, she chose to blow up at Jessica instead by yelling at her and calling her every horrible name in the book simply because she didn't want to get caught and be exposed for the petty, mean girl that she really is. Part of her reason for never wanting to take responsibility for her behavior is because she thrives on getting by by using the victim or pity card as much as possible. Raven also never owns up to her lies and embellishments either. She tries to constantly make it seem as though her stories are a reality when they aren't.

* RecklessSidekick: To Paul of course. While Paul is much more logical and practical in his thinking and he's the brains behind the operation, Raven is more impulsive and reckless. Sometimes she really doesn't think when she acts and it can get her into a lot of trouble. She'll end up starting unnecessary fights with other people which could paint a target on her back. She'll end up doing and saying something stupid which could jeopardize her chances of staying in the game. Raven is reckless when it comes to what she says. She makes all of these unrealistic claims and makes up all of these unrealistic stories about her life that make it hard to believe are actually real and she doesn't seem to think before she speaks. Her constant embellishments just roll off her tongue like it's no challenge. Her constant, impulsive lying has also contributed to her reckless behavior and it has gotten her in trouble game wise. But she's so desperate for attention and sympathy, that she's willing to be reckless and impulsive to get it.
