@ Catwoman

  • He's Just Hiding: In Catwoman: Gotham Underground, it’s possible to wonder if Tinderbox survived being crushed beneath a boulder at the conclusion of the arc. It helps that her body looks oddly unmarked; her powers might have let her melt through the boulder or cocoon herself as it fell, and Dr. Phosphorus's dialogue could be interpreted as either mourning a dead child or comforting a badly hurt but living one.
  • The Scrappy: The new characters from the New 52 arc Catwoman: Gotham Underground tend to be viewed as uncharismatic and having been given too much world-building too fast.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Tinderbox, Dr. Phosphorus's daughter from Catwoman: Gotham Underground, feels like a character who had a lot of room to grow due to gradually improving her powers and scheming in her last issue, giving Phosphorus a source of both Kick the Dog and Even Evil Has Loved Ones moments, having grown up in a mysterious underground city, and having a mysterious, briefly-mentioned mother whose relationship with Phosphorus sounded interesting. However, she spends most of her page time being annoying to both readers and other characters alike before being written out of the series in a casual manner in her fourth issue.

@ Haunted Mansion (2023)

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Gabbie, Travis, Kent, and Harriet's haunting experiences that drove them back to the house and Kent's recruitment to try and exorcise the ghosts sound interesting but are all only briefly mentioned and don't even get a flashback scene.

@ Robin (1993)

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: The return of Ulysses Armstrong/the General/Anarky II's brother and sister after a Long Bus Trip in Robin #182 has some interesting potential after their friendly interactions with Robin and willingness to side with him over their brother. They are seemingly killed in a bombing after just a brief cameo for no narrative purpose to add some It's Personal feelings to Robin and Ulysses's feud ... which never gets followed up on afterward, making them feel even more wasted.
@ John Putnam Thatcher
  • In Accounting for Murder:
    • Thatcher makes a polite comment about Albanian poetry and folk music at a party, then finds the host wanting to make him listen to a lot more of it, causing Thatcher to urgently wrap up his business and leave the party with undue haste. Then, after giving his denouement at another party, it turns out the singer is there too, and Thatcher has no excuse for leaving before the guy starts singing.
    • Regina Plout, a member of the stockholders' Protest Committee, conducts routine actions with "pompous solemnity" half the time and, at one point, accuses someone who is seemingly above suspicion of the murder simply because "I don't like his shifty eyes." It's implied that her eccentricities have driven her son and daughter-in-law "to one of the more inaccessible points on Long Island."

@ Manhunt (2024)

  • Even Evil Has Standards: David Herold may be an accomplice to a Presidential assassination and an implied white supremacist, but he won't kill a horse they don't need anymore and indicates that he holds Oswell Swann in contempt for being a black man willing to work with the Confederates.
  • Incurable Cough of Death: Stanton occasionally coughs while under heavy strain due to having asthma, and his doctor tells him that it will probably eventually kill him unless he starts taking it easier, which Stanton refuses to do.

@ Manhunt (2024)

  • After Booth kills Lincoln and flees the theater, a Badass Bystander chases him out of the theater and down the alley even after Booth mounts his horse.
  • Many of the detective moments in which Stanton and his allies gain insights into pursuing the fugitives are decently impressive.
    • Stanton realizes that John Suratt Jr.'s shoe size is in an employment record he made, and they can use that to see if he was the one who made tracks outside Stanton's house.
    • A black soldier realizes where they can find a map of Confederate Secret Service routes in an old office, leading to a large raid where his unit smashes into a Confederate office and then finds a hidden cabinet after a search.
  • When budding President Evil Johnson shows no interest in hunting down Booth, Stanton threatens to publicly circulate the conspiracy theories that he is involved in the assassination if he tries to stand in their way. Earlier, he also pointedly refuses to call Johnson "Mr. President" before hs official swearing-in.
  • In one flashback scene, a group of slave catchers abducting runaways up North is temporarily driven away by a defiant mob that includes two gun-toting freedwomen, the uncle of the little girl they're after, and even some nearby white abolitionists.
  • In multiple scenes, Booth and his black guide, Swann, trade barbs or negotiate. Swann proves more than willing to threaten Booth at gunpoint, refuse to be humiliated, and raise his price whenever Booth does anything petty.

@ Manhunt (2024)

  • Booth has a grandiose dream about being sworn in as President of the Confederacy, only to be woken up by his guide loudly declaring he needs to take a piss.

@ Teen Power Inc.

  • Lethal Chef: In The Missing Millionaire, Kurt, the hotel cook, makes unappetizing-looking breakfasts for the guests that include overcooked eggs and especially shriveled stewed prunes. He actually is a good cook (as shown by the meals he makes for his boss), but he and his boss don't care about making the extra effort to make their guest's meals tasty.

@ Batman: Rogues Gallery (Part 4)

@ Token Good Cop

  • Clockers: Minority Police Officer Andre is a rare cop who tries to guide and protect the neighborhood people instead of exploiting them or bullying them to solve crimes, although he is willing to dish out some Beware the Nice Ones beatings when pushed far enough.

@ Minority Police Officer

  • Kate Moore from the third Dirty Harry movie and Al Quan from the first are promoted due to being a woman and Asian, respectively, although both handle their new duties well.
  • Exit Wounds: George Clark, Boyd's new partner, is one of the only black cops above the beat cop level at the local precinct and keeps his distance from Montini and Useldinger due to, among other things, their potential racism, meaning he escapes being lured into the corruption of their circle, although Dragon-in-Chief Sergeant Strutt is also black.
  • Mystery Road: Jay Swan is the only Aboriginal police officer in his old hometown and doesn't feel that many of his white colleagues care enough about solving a case involving black victims, while his own efforts to do so take him on a path that sees him leaving town during the Time Skip between films.
  • Thunderheart: Being the only part-Lakota agent in the FBI gets Ray Levoi an unwelcome assignment to investigate a murder on a reservation in South Dakota, despite his disconnect from his heritage, as a PR attempt.
  • 87th Precinct: Frankie Hernandez is the only Puerto Rican detective in the area, which causes him to be given point in a dangerous hostage situation in his old neighborhood that ends in his death.
  • Fun Jungle: South African Athmani Okeke is the only known member of the eponymous animal park's security force who isn't an American citizen, having been brought in as a temporary expert consultant due to his experience fighting poachers as a game warden. However, the short-term nature of his job and his unhappiness at the thought of going home to a future of fighting armed poachers for another few decades until retirement cause him to decide to fund an early retirement through a criminal conspiracy.
  • King City: Charlotte is the first African-American to come out of the local police academy with high detective scores in years (King City is only 3% black) and is promptly sent to join Detective Wade in his Uriah Gambit on the Wrong Side of the Tracks.
  • Murdoch Mysteries: Robert Parker, a black Pinkerton detective, is hired as a special officer for the Toronto Constabulary in Season 13, only to be eventually fired by racist higher-ranking officials who are only willing to employ black people in the Coroner's office.

@ Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  • The Sunndyale High Yearbook shows that despite the constant monster attacks and other shenanigans in the school, various students related to some of those events have accomplished things like winning science fair prizes outside of town (Scott, Chris, etc.), getting into a prestigious ballet company (Michael), and serializing a novel in the school's literary magazine that publishers are interested in (Kyle)

@ Ciaphas Cain

  • Blood Knight: Cain notes how much he relishes shooting the invaders of his home world.
  • Mercy Kill: He views blowing up an important Ork base as a good plan despite the presence of prisoners, arguing that killing them would be merciful due to the abuse they suffer and how unlikely they are to ever escape. However, once rescuing them becomes a viable option, he is fine with that.

@ The King Nobody Wanted

  • Hufflepuff House: The Iron Islands is probably the least represented of the Seven Kingdoms, as of Chapter 102. While three Greyjoys are prominent characters and their father, stepmother, surviving siblings, and niece appear and/or are frequently mentioned, the rest of the Iron Islanders remain an interchangeable horde of reavers who have only appeared onscreen in one chapter. Only a small handful of contemporary Ironborn outside of the family, like Harren Botley (who summons Aeron and Urrigon to a meeting) or Dagmer Cleftjaw, have even been mentioned by name.

@ Fillmore!

The world of Fillmore! is full of culprits and other less-than-upstanding characters whose actions are empathetically portrayed as wrong but, at the end of the day, they are kids who (usually) aren't bad at heart, break the rules for what they consider to be good reasons, and may face heartbreaking consequences from their peers or the school authorities when they're caught.

  • The only adult culprit in the show, Leonard Grahand from "Masterstroke of Malevolence" also counts, having been a struggling artist whose work was never appreciated except when he compromised his vision to make a sale, which made him give up painting and take a job as a security guard watching over his artwork in a museum while being reminded of its imperfection. Then, after he comes to feel a sense of purpose in his new job, he's forced into early retirement and ends up with his good reputation as a guard damaged after he lashes out by defacing the painting.

  • Del makes Jackie wait by the elevator to give him coffee whenever he arrives at work, like in the movies. However, because Del isn't a stickler for punctuality, she doesn't know when to make the coffee, and he gets a cold and poor-tasting cup.

@ Powerless (2017)

  • Attention Whore: He loves fame, such as Tabloid Melodrama and getting to make a sexy but demeaning commercial.
  • Cool Helmet: His flashy but identity-concealing gladiator helmet gets some praise.

  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: She resents how her heroics can't keep her from being Tabloid Melodrama fodder.
  • Flying Firepower: She can propel herself through the air with fire, in addition to hurling fireballs offensively.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Her costume has a bigger Cleavage Window than anything the female main characters tend to wear.

  • Evil Laugh: Triumphant, villainous laughter is the closest he has to dialogue during his two short scenes.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: Frostbite seems like one of the many interchangeable C-list ice villains who constantly freeze Charm City before defeating and freezing the powerful Crimson Fox. character.

    Starro
A menacing alien in Emily's old hometown.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Starro is shown climbing up a building before being reduced to a splash of goo after being blown up in battle.

    Joker
  • The Faceless: He is only shown being arrested on the news with a bag over his head.

    The Riddler
A Batman rogue whose Mook Lieutenant turns out to be Emily's new boyfriend.
  • The Ghost: He is mentioned, and his men read a text from him, but he remains offscreen.
  • Leave No Witnesses: He tries to have his men kill Emily and Jackie after stealing a Wayne Security invention from them.

@ Powerless (2017)

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Olympian having a Secret Identity at Wayne Security, Emily befriending Green Fury, Emily dating a henchman, and Ron being from Atlantis are all only brought up in one episode apiece despite having decent entertainment potential and tying the story into the bigger DC universe.

@ Team Human

  • Respects: Poseidon, The Halls of Wind and Air, Water and Moisture and Weather
  • Of Interest to: Hody Jones,
  • Jonah is an unlucky sailor that goes onto ships only for his luck or clumsiness to cause something to happen that makes the ship sink. He has been on one hundred and thirty-eight ships that have sank soon afterwards. He causes fear in any sailor who recognised him because they know that the ship he is on will sink. Sometimes the very sight of him will cause the crew of ships to flee, sometimes they flee so fast that they can't stop from crashing something in front of them.
  • The Pantheon first heard about the ship sinking incidents when Unhygienix had hired out his fishing boat to a group of sailors. One of the sailors was called Jonah and he was able to hook a fish but the fish pulled him off the boat. Jonah held tightly onto his fishing rod even when the fish turned around then went under the boat while Jonah went right through the boat leaving a Jonah shaped hole in the boat that caused it to sink. This caused Jonah to let go of the fishing rod and crash into the boats at the docks sinking all of them. Afterwards the shipwright Franky was called to repaire the boats, and Franky suggested that Jonah try to sail a metal boat that Franky had made but Jonah's clumsiness and bad luck caused that boat to sink too. It was decided that Jonah would be sent to the House of Craft to keep him busy doing something that would make it impossible for him to sink any boats while the Court of Gods made a decision on him. The Court of Gods decided to make Jonah the God of Sinking Ship Scenarios and made sure that his temple was kept well away from any boats in his hall. Jonah was told of his ascension after being thrown out of the house of craft for causing boats in paintings, statues of boats and ships in bottles to all sink.
  • Jonah is kept away from any living boats because of his clumsiness and bad luck would cause them to sink. The Star Fleet dare not go anywhere near where Jonah is because of his reputation of causing ships to sink. They fear that the moment they meet him they fill suffer an accident that sends them down into a watery grave. The Shipgirls fear him because their ship forms getting sunk will turn them into their Abyssal counterparts. Thankfully if the Abyssal counterpart are sunk they turn back into regular ship girls.
  • One day when Jonah was sailing his newest homemade ship he was surprised when a seaplane made a crash landing in front of him. The plane distracted him from steering his ship causing him to crash it into a nearby dock which caused enough damage to the ship that it sank below the waves. The pilot of the seaplane Launchpad McQuack helped Jonah get out of the water and on to dry lane. Launchpad was happy to find someone that had gone through similar mishaps to him because they could relate to each other. This led to them becoming firm friends, they even sailed in a ship that they had built which crashed then sank, undeterred they decided to built another ship named Pantheon 32. They are both known around the pantheon as walking disaster areas to vehicles but the people on the vehicles always survive.
  • Due to Jonah's clumsiness and bad luck it was decided to ban him from the vehicle depot just in case his clumsiness and bad luck that causes ships to sink works on the ships and spaceships in the pantheon. Jonah has been asked if he had anything to do with the original Titanic's sinking but Jonah just pointed out that he couldn't have anything to do with it because he was born many years after the original Titanic sank. He has had something to do with his homemade boats sinking some of which he named after the Titanic. However he has been forced to stop calling his homemade boats that name while in the pantheon after people that were on the Titanic like Scrooge McDuck.
  • Most One Piece Deities fear Jonah for his ability to cause ships to sink because of the effects of their Devil Fruits causes them to lose the ability to swim. Having Jonah around means that one mistake by him could cause the ship that they are on to sink which could take out any of the Devil Fruit Eaters on board. One of the few One Piece deities that doesn't fear Jonah is Hordy Jones who instead seeks to enslave Jonah. Hordy wants to use Jonah as a slave that he could control, Hordy wants to use him as a means to sink humanity's ships. As bad as Jonah is towards ships in the pantheon most people realise that it would be better for everyone if he was kept well away from Hordy Jones.
  • When Jonah first was seen in the pantheon he was on a fishing boat with some other sailors when he cause it to sink. This caused Haddock and Popeye to have a dislike of Jonah since they were on the fishing boat as well when it sank. Unhygienix was especially angry since it was his boat that Jonah had sunk, so Jonah was forced to run away from Unhygienix who was trying to throw fish at him. Jonah got lucky when his clumsiness caused him to trip and the fish ended up hitting Obelix who decided to return the fish by hitting Unhygienix on head with it, this caused Unhygienix to fight Obelix over his fish allowing Jonah to Escape.
  • Rear Admiral Tamon Yamaguchi hates Jonah for not not going down with the ships he sinks. Jonah says he goes down the ships but since he is usually working on the deck, he ends up in the water and just swims either to land or a nearby ship. The reason he is usually found on deck is because the ship's captains figure that it is the place where he could do the least amount damage to the ship. Tamon Yamaguchi's temple is his ship so he tries to keep Jonah well away from it, to prevent Jonah from making it sink again.
  • After Jonah had caused a pirate ship to sink the crew in the life boats decided to throw him out of the boat. Jonah decided to swim for land however he was soon rescued by a Crocodile that made a ticking sound like a clock. The Crocodile transported him to the pirate ship Jolly Roger and then used his tail to hit Jonah on the ship. Captain Hook was afraid to see Jonah, Hook yelling out 'Agh! It's 'im!' Hook's crew panicked after hearing that and in the panic they accidentally caused holes in Hook's ship causing it to sink. Unfortunately for Hook he was left in the water with Tick-Tock the Croc who decided to try and eat him, Hook was last seen swimming for his life with the Croc chasing him.
  • Jonah is known for causing boats to sink in the sea, rivers, lakes, and ponds but could he sink a boat that was already underwater? That was the question that led to Jonah being introduced to Spongebob Squarepants and Jonah being given a diving suit so he could go through a portal into Spongebob's universe. There Spongebob suggested that he could have a try driving a boat at Mrs. Puff boating school. During the drive Jonah accidentally pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake pedal causing the boat to go so fast up a nearby ramp that it broke the sea level and went into the sky before sinking below sea again. After that incident it was decided that the best thing to do would be to return Jonah back through the portal into the Pantheon before he could cause anymore damage.
  • One day Jonah heard about some Sailors with Magic powers, he went to introduce himself to them while hoping that he didn't sink their boats. He was surprised to find ten magical girls who Jonah thought were ten Superheroes. They explained that their outfits were called Sailor uniforms and that they weren't the type of sailor that Jonah was looking for. They are unsure if Jonah totally understood their explanation since Jonah now seems to think that Magical Girl is the name of their team.
  • Like most sailors Jonah respects any Gods that can control the elements that can effect a sailor's voyage. He tries to stay on their good side so they don't cause any ship he is on to sink. The Gods have pointed out that Jonah doesn't need any help with sinking ships, his clumsiness and bad luck sink them before they could even do anything. Poseidon once took Jonah to Charon's temple to see if Jonah would cause Charon's ferry to sink so he could win his bet with Hades. Hades bet that Charon's ferry is the one boat that Jonah couldn't sink, while Poseidon bet that Jonah could make it sink. The winner of the bet was Poseidon and Jonah was seen being chased by an angry Charon shouting "How dare you sink my ferry Jonah!"

Characters.Granblue Fantasy Gran Djeeta

  • Modesty Shorts: In Relink, both Djeeta's regular dress and new outfit has a pair of shorts underneath, as to avoid any inappropriate shots in gameplay.

YMMV.Granblue Fantasy Relink

  • Adorkable: Roland is a goofy and kindhearted vicar who is often prone to silly moments, such as him correcting Vyrn on his name whenever the latter call him "Fix-it Dude".

Manga.Elden Ring The Road To The Erdtree

  • Art-Style Dissonance: The manga's mostly serious, well-detailed and realistic artwork often contrasts its silly story and the comedic situations that our protagonist finds himself in.

Trolls Band Together:

  • Easily Forgiven: Viva is also forgiven by Clay, Branch, John Dory and Bruce for trying to trap them at her home, as they get that her intentions were well-meaning and is not only trying to protect them, but being a big sister who is trying to keep Poppy safe.
  • Heartwarming: During an argument with John Dory, Clay defends Branch and Bruce that they and himself have changed. Also, despite being upset with John Dory, Clay does try to help his oldest brothers open his eyes and see that he can't cling onto the brothers he remembered.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • Bruce admitting his reasons for leaving both the band and his brothers is pretty heartbreaking, but it shows how much he didn't like John Dory's treatment of him and their siblings.
    • Despite some good coming out of leaving the band, John Dory, Bruce and Clay realize the bad side of doing so, as it exposed Floyd and Branch to danger, which makes them feel worse for their selfish actions.
