Suggestion: Title Tropes

I wanted to bring up several different title tropes in this thread. Unlike most tropes, they tend to be relatively easy to illustrate because they're not all that complex.

In order, here are my suggestions for:

• Initialism Title
• Team Title
• Letters 2 Numbers
• Completely Different Title
• Role Called

I'm down with all of these for their respective pages.

They work. The Die Hard suggestion would need a caption translating it.

I really like all of them. Putting "That's Die Hard, for you English speakers" in the caption is easy enough.

I enlargened the subtitle.

Giving my for all the suggestions in 1, as well as the caption in 4.

I think that subtitle is a little too big. Somewhere about halfway between that and the original would work well.

Agreed, cut that down by about half and it should be good.

Also, while it's semi-obvious, it doesn't hurt to mention what the Spanish title actually means in the caption.

Those are all good, but I think a crop of this◊ cover art for the F4 movie might resize better.

Wait, I just realized that Morgenthaler also posted a suggestion for Letters 2 Numbers... I'm scratching my own suggestion off the list.

^ Don't worry, we can put up a crowner for these if more suggestions come in, including Letters 2 Numbers.

Of the ones in #10 above, I think they're all solid except two. I'd replace Annual Title because of overlap with Trope 2000. Perhaps Windows 98◊ instead?

American Title is also one of the few title tropes that's slightly more complex, because there's both a straight application and a subversive one. Here's something that combines the two:

Oh, okay then. In that case, I'm putting my suggestion back up (I'm using the BD cover as suggested by Willbyr). Also, '98 is good, I think.

I'd crop the Blu Ray banner off the top of that pic.

I don't think any of them have quite enough s to go with, plus we've got more than one suggestion for some of them...seriously thinking about setting up a crowner to make everything official.

For Annual Title, how about Match Game 73◊? The show updated its title every year it was on the air in its original incarnation, this was the first.
