Prematurely launched pages and pages that weren't fully fleshed out at the point of launching, are a big problem. Since these usually share several problems at once, this thread is aimed at re-running them through the TLP for fixing - the usual fix - or cutting them if they are too bad.
Problems this thread deals with include bad names, not enough/bad examples, unclear description, etc.
For the interested, here's a list of recently created pages. Launches
Note: Please do not request a mod to unlaunch drafts that don't have any issues besides lacking a launch notice/24hr launch notice. While 24hr launch notices are mandatory, there are a few exceptions to the rule. If you see a draft's sponsor launch a TLP without an announcement, it's best to remind them of our TLP Guidelines first. If they continue to repeatedly launch drafts without a launch notice, you can report them on Ask The Tropers or the TLP Community Issues thread.

FanWorks.Splash has been recreated; this time it's the text of a fanfic. Cutlisting.
Suspended the author as well.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Monstrous Mandibles was launched a few days ago. As far as I can see, there are no glaring problems... except with the way the description treats the terms "mandible" and "maxilla" as if they're exclusive to the eponymous insectile mouthparts, when they're actually generic anatomical terms for the lower and upper jaw(bone)s in any animal species, respectively.
Do I have permission to rewrite the description to account for that?
EDIT: Just found that Flower Mouth has a similar problem, though it only uses the word once.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.there was a lot of opposition and issues brought up in that draft, with the OP responding only to basically say "no". If the concerns have been left unaddressed, and I'd also qualify expecting the average TV Tropes reader to understand "maxilla" as one, it should be sent back.
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!Well, I'll admit that I only gave a cursory look at the TLP draft... and I am rather under the weather due to a persistent bout of the common cold, so my concentration was probably out of whack and I missed that.
PS: You may want to take a look at related TLP drafts and recently launched tropes, such as Monster Mouth and Flower Mouth.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I think there were a few comments like "isn't this Flower Mouth" (which was also in TLP then) — — EDIT: reading that TLP again, appears I was mistaken. Probably thinking of one of the similar drafts.
Looking at Monster Mouth TLP, it's definitely been improved upon but I'm not seeing the necessity for a supertrope that is, really, more like monsters have mouths that look like a monster's mouth (and would probably function better as an index?).

OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!From what I can tell, it's more about the general concept of a gruesome/horrific-looking mouth, which can happen on an obviously monstrous creature or as an/the defining element of a seemingly normal creature's Nightmare Face.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. On a different note, does this thread's mandate extend to technically "old" tropes that haven't thrived at all in terms of either wicks or inbounds since their launch? Another Man's Terror was made almost 8 years ago, and yet it's still stuck at 43 wicks and 164 inbounds... not to mention the questionable quality of the trope's name itself.
And for the record, the YKTTW/TLP draft literally has only two comments in it, and the launch date coincides with the dates of said comments. Definitely seems like a premature launch to me.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Sorry, didn't realise this was the place to come to discuss concerns with trope launches.
I posted a thread here a couple of days ago with concerns about the launch of Putting the "Pal" in Principal. I've copied and pasted my original post, since I originally asked in the wrong place.
This looks like a brand new trope that has just been launched. An entry was placed on a page I watch, which is how I noticed it. I'm finding the trope description to be extremely scrappy and ill-defined. It doesn't really make a proper attempt to tell me what the point is supposed to be as it's couched in a far too casual "Is he X or is he Y? You decide!" manner. It doesn't tell me how it stands out from Reasonable Authority Figure as it just seems to be a very badly worded case of The Same But More Specific.
I went to the YKTTW page and noticed that this question has been asked in thread. The only response was that this trope is supposed to be a sub-trope of Reasonable Authority Figure — which might be fine, but there's no attempt to link this new trope back to Reasonable Authority Figure. Indeed, it actually implies a relationship with Benevolent Boss instead and, again, the trope description doesn't try to either distinguish itself from, or tie into the trope description of, Benevolent Boss (there's just an obvious headmaster/student instead of boss/employee focus).
I know it has a lot of hats but, at the moment, it feels half-finished at best. Was it launched too soon?
So, what do we do with Monstrous Mandibles? Just a description tweak, or send back to TLP?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I think a description tweak might work, I'll bring it up in the Trope Description thread :)
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!Video Game Kahoot shouldn't be a Main page work. It's a video game.
That can be safely moved to VideoGame.Kahoot, then cut the old destination.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanRhetorical Devices was just launched ~9 hours ago, and it has sections for various types of tropes, without wicking to them, basically duplicating those indexes., such as:
- Alliteration is basically Added Alliterative Appeal.
- Allusion
- Irony
- Understatement (Though that's not an index), are just a few of those twelve.
- Weasel Words
~Piterpicher 'cause you grabbed and launched the TLP.

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Shoot. I guess that's what happens when you take over a draft from 2011. I'll cut it, then.
I do admit I wanted to take two other TLP drafts, though: Long Jump Game and Pilot Episode Tropes. Do they have potential, or should I not even bother?

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)- Well, I actually thought Rhetorical Devices had potential, as a branch off from the topic of dialogue in general?
Pilot Episode Tropes, make sense? They're a distinct type of episode, made in specific ways?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Unless mods decline the cut, Rhetorical Devices will die. Though if the cut does get declined, I'll like to talk on the discussion page with you on how to improve it. If it does though, I guess that's just how it is. Still, you say Pilot Episode Tropes makes sense, so I'll take care of it.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)If the page content is otherwise OK, it should just be moved.
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!- Willbyr said they moved it, on the TLP.

ETA: Looks like it's already being fixed. Still, is there a way to move the TLP archive to the correct discussion page?

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Tried a move; doesn't work.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportCould we relaunch the draft with the correct title?

- Are there copy paste problems with the description?
And that editor needs to learn how to Wiki Word. Whatever, sent a PM. ... And forgot to mention that they need help with Namespacing too. *sigh*.
