This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

The page quote on Strike Me Down is a bit misleading. First, we have a separate trope for Strike Me Down With All Your Hatred. Second, Palpatine isn't really trying to die, but to goad Luke into giving in to the Dark Side.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Aye, it's unfitting. Strike it down.
The Character Died with Him's quote not only ignores one part of the trope (no mention of the actor), it is also from the same work as the current image. Looking at the quotes page, closest one may be the Joker one, but we may be better off without a quote.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportWhen doing some wick cleaning for a TRS project, I noticed that The Supremes has two quotes. What's preferred: some lyrics for one of their songs (quote 1), or a host announcing the group (quote 2, needs wick removed)?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportNever mind.

The quote for The Alcatraz sounds more like a Badass Boast than a statement about the prison. I suggest the opening narration from Escape from New York, though we would need a new quote for that page.
That's describes the feel of the trope well, but quotes are generally better when they are short and to the point. If you could cut that into something shorter, it may be perfect.
If not, I think this is succinct enough to work.
I concur. That's great.
Soooooo... the quote on Creator.Mel Gibson (and for that matter, the sole example in Quotes.Mel Gibson) seems decidedly non-kosher (pun intended) and blatantly bashing the guy. Whom I personally detest, but rules are rules.

New theme music also a boxThe first one is more concise, and is closer in line to the trope definition, I think.
Man in the Machine has two quotes. First one is more concise.
Mood Whiplash has a really mediocre quotation. I'm not sure yet what would make the best replacement, but so far I'm thinking the Skyward Sword quotation from the quotes page might be good enough for now if only as a tentative one.
EDIT:
Or alternatively, a couple VG Cats options:
VG Cats!Pikachu: Never fear, detective Pikachu is on the case! So what are we solving today? More Team Rocket tomfoolery? Human: Rape. Murder rape.
note
Criminal: Hey, little pussy, whatchu here for? Leo: A Squirtle, sir. Criminal: Well, not if I get it first! Leo, next panel: And then he took my wallet!

I can trim it a bit.
- A fifty-foot containment wall is erected along the New Jersey shoreline, across the Harlem River, and down along the Brooklyn shoreline. It completely surrounds Manhattan Island. All bridges and waterways are mined. The United States Police Force, like an army, is encamped around the island. There are no guards inside the prison, only prisoners and the worlds they have made. The rules are simple: Once you go in, you don't come out.
Or it can be the last two or three sentences:
- There are no guards inside the prison, only prisoners and the worlds they have made. The rules are simple: Once you go in, you don't come out.
A couple of questions from the dewicking of Bash Org:
- Is the quote on Artificial Stupidity formatted correctly? That doesn't seem normal.
- The quote on Bluenose Bowdlerizer is attributed to someone from Bash Org, but I always thought it was a John Green quote. Does this matter who said it first?
- On Hanaukyō Maid Tai, there's a quote from Bash Org as the page quote, but I always thought the page quote for a works page ought to be something from the work or creator. Should the quotation just be removed?
In Defence of Storytelling has two page quotes:
Lost in Translation has a quote from film critic Roger Ebert, rather than a quote from the work itself:
Can I suggest a quote for Perverted Sniffing?
From the Nostalgia Critic's review of the legend of the Titanic, perhaps when he makes the joke about Don Juan sniffing Elizabeth's glove?
Please allow me to introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and taste. Nice to meet you, hope you can guess my name.I think the quote for America Won World War II should be changed since the current one is this:
"We saved your ass in Vietnam!" — Homer Simpson to some British citizens, The Simpsons, "The Regina Monologues"
Obviously if Homer wasn't a moron, he'd say WWII, but since he is, this quote doesn't really fit the trope. I think something like this would be better:
"I just wanna say I'm not paying for your wine cellar, you thieving, would-be-speaking-German-if-it-weren't-for-us, cheap little man!" - Jack Geller to his British daughter in-law's father, Friends, "The One With Ross's Wedding"
Creator.Marilyn Monroe has two quotes at the top.
Keep the second. The Elthon John song can probably be fitted elsewhere.
Crazy People Play Chess is sneaking a second quote by putting it at the end of the article. Personally, I'd rather see this second quote replacing the top one.
The quote in Never Be a Hero is unsourced, and only describes half of the trope.
NightmareFuel.Splatoon not only has wicks, but it also has spoiler tags. Is the latter part kosher?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportTechnically they're potholes. Normal wicks are fine iirc, it's the potholes that aren't permitted.
Spoiler tags in page quotes are absolutely not kosher. They violate the "no tags above the trope line" rule.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? The "Don't tell me Nintendo games don't have dark stories." has potential as the page quote imo. We don't need to know the plot.
Though I wonder if that part would work on a trope page instead. I can't think of any off the top of my head, though.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyOkay, sawed off the spoiler chunk. Now to see where else it can go...
Edit: Closest I can find is What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?, which already has a good quote. Could be added to that trope's quote page, or be a quote for the video game subpage.

What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
I think the suggested Lego Batman quote works fine.
