Wynn

Ragni Fort & Wynn Plains

    Aledar
"It's a twist of fate that our paths have converged here, <playername>. We started our journey together and now..."

One of the first humans encountered by the player (along with Tasim below), and eventually a great adventurer as well.
  • Dented Iron: He survives some seriously insane injuries that would in 'A Journey Further', but by the end of the quest he seems to have given up on ever returning.
  • Determinator: Aledar, despite the injuries he accrues, is determined the complete the expedition to the Silent Expanse and keep the player alive in A Journey Further. Though this mostly stems from the player being the designated sacrifice to open Eldritch Outlook, as their death would render the entire point of the expedition moot.
  • Establishing Character Moment: his choice to run ahead of Tasim and the player at the beginning of King’s Recruit, which demonstrates not only his hotheadedness, but a slight disregard for his own safety.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: At the end of 'A Journey Further,' when reaching the Eldritch Outlook in the Silent Expanse, Aledar sacrifices himself, saying you're much more fit to fight The Eye and his soul opens the gate to the Outlook. Ironically, he initially brought the player to the Silent Expanse to have them be the sacrifice, but later on he realizes they ought to be the one exploring it rather than him.
  • The Load: Despite being Made of Iron, it becomes apparent very early in 'A Journey Further' that Aledar is this, considering he spends most of the expedition accruing many injuries from monsters or even himself and having to hinge on the player protecting him to get by. He realized that having the player be sacrificed at the very end of the journey would be a horrible idea as the player is far more capable than he has been during the expedition, Aledar decides to take the player's place as the sacrifice.
  • Put on a Bus: After the spiders questline ('Mushroom Man,' 'Arachnids' Ascent,' and the dungeon Infested Pit) he's nowhere to be seen... until the Bus Comes Back for 'A Journey Beyond.'
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red oni to Tasim's blue oni— Aledar's even got a red color scheme.
  • Those Two Guys: Occasionally with Tasim, as the two were recruits together. They part ways, but according to Tasim still kept in contact.

    Tasim
"...no sense screaming for the dead. But do you think I'm going to just give up like that?"

One of the first humans encountered by the player (along with Aledar above), and eventually a great adventurer as well.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Finds himself in one after the events of 'Recover the Past'— is he really cursed? What kind of magic can he use? Was it just a coincidence he and Aledar became friends? And how does the Player fit into this?
  • But Thou Must!: If you try and tell Tasim about Aledar's ultimate fate, the game won't let you, saying it would be cruel to tell him during the holiday.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Before getting captured by the Fruma guard and being sent off to Wynn, Tasim had a chance encounter with Aledar falling through the roof of his house in a heavily injured state. Tasim proceeds to heal Aledar with magic, which not only gets him labelled as an accomplice to Aledar, but it outs him as someone who could use magic in a province where magic is restricted only to Fruma's leaders.
  • Put on a Bus: It's unclear what happened to him after the events of 'Recover the Past.' He mentions wanting to go to Gavel, but this may have been a ruse since, unlike Aledar (who shows up at 'A Journey Beyond'), he's nowhere to be found in the whole province. But...
    • The Bus Came Back: ...He shows up as the final character you can invite to Detlas for the 2023 Festival of the Blizzard, and talks about wanting to learn about his history in Fruma. Apparently he actually did leave for Gavel, and has been stationed in Cinfras.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue oni to Aledar's red oni.
  • Those Two Guys: Occasionally with Aledar, as the two were recruits together. They part ways, but according to Tasim still kept in contact.

    The King Of Ragni
"Welcome to the Wynn Province! This is the noble fort of Ragni, one of the oldest and most influential cities in the province! Your job as a soldier of Wynn is to stop the growth of the monsters that are ravaging the province."

The king of Fort Ragni, and the NPC to formally introduce the player to the province of Wynn.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Calls all the new Fruman recruits "young recruit," and eventually starts calling the player "young master."
  • Happily Adopted: He casually mentions being adopted in Wynnexcavation Site D.
  • Hobbes Was Right: His idea about the crystals can basically be condensed to the fact that we generally can't be trusted with power. However, considering the King is a Villager talking to a Human about a Villager's problem with Olmic crystals, this idea probably extends beyond just "humanity."
  • No Man Should Have This Power: At the end of WynnExcavation Site D after Amadel is defeated for good, the player meets Ragni's King, who takes from them the Power Crystals that WynnExcavation had sought, and submerges them in lava, destroying them.
Ragni's King: I think those crystals represent a force far beyond what we can grasp, and if that power can turn one man into what you fought back there, I shudder to think what else it could do.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: During the 2023 Festival of the Blizzard event he mentions sending someone to visit the festivities in Detlas in his stead, and upon arriving at Detlas the player can encounter a Mysterious Lurker... who is the King wearing a hooded cloak.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: While something of an Informed Attribute, he does seem extremely busy helping keep Ragni Fort in shape. Apparently this is mostly boring work, as he mentions the most interesting part is when he signs agreements with other cities and greets new recruits.

    Enzan & Therck
Two brothers, soldiers of Ragni Fort— one a retired knight, and the other still in action. The first quest the player encounters (after 'King's Recruit') involves them, and at least Enzan will attend many fo the seasonal festivals.
  • Always Identical Twins: Their only physical difference (sans the Blizzard Festival, when they wear different outfits) is their beards— Therck has a slightly longer mustache.
  • Black Bead Eyes: Both of them.
  • Cynic–Idealist Duo: Enzan is the idealist, and Therck is the cynicist.
  • Homemade Sweater from Hell: Enzan loves the Craftmas sweaters the vendor sells, much to Therck's disdain.
  • Knight in Sour Armor: Quite literally for Therck, who is a soldier. Clearly he has something to fight for, but he's not pleasant about it. Enzan calls him out for this often.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Enzan is kind and patient, while Therck is very rude and obstinate.
  • Workaholic: Therck apparently has to be reminded by Enzan to take breaks. It's telling they're (presumably) the same age and Enzan has retired, but Therck continues to work and shows no sign of stopping. Therck also doesn't come to any of the festivals besides the Blizzard Festival, and he basically has to be dragged there.

    The Cook
The often overworked cook of humble Ragni Fort.
  • Everybody Calls Him "Barkeep": A rather straightforward example, as he's not known as anything else other than "Cook."
  • Retcon: At one point The Cook was the same character as Chef Hamsey, but this was changed because having two versions of the same NPC at different points in their life on the map at the same time was strange.
  • Supreme Chef: In the 2021 and 2022 Festival of the Blizzard, he cooks up a Craftmas dinner in a "mesermizing" spectacle, which gives you a whopping +25% Health Regen, +15% Main Attack Damage, and +15% Spell Damage— for ten minutes.

    Bob
The legendary Hero of Wynn.

    Bak’al
The only organized leader of the Corruption and the scourge of Wynn... until Bob came along.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Whenever Bak'al leads his army anywhere, any opposition is destroyed easily, unless there's Bob.
  • Eye Scream: One of his eyes appears to be destroyed, and the other bulges out of its socket.
  • Horrifying the Horror: As terrifying as Bak'al was, he couldn't hold a candle to Bob. One of their clashes is retold in the Wynn Plains Monument, where, after Bob counters everything that the Leader of the Corrupt can throw at him, the beast flees, and never again attacks an outpost under the protection of the Hero of Wynn.

Nivla Woods

    Ope
"What, do you have someone to mourn as well? Plenty of bonfires 'round here. I'm sure you can find somewhere else to do it. Beat No? No. Alright. Guess we'll stand here together."

The slightly troubled Con Man nephew of the Mayor Alvin, who is often involved in some sort of trouble.
  • Con Man: He calls scamming people his "primary personality quirk," but it's pretty clear he wasn't always that way.
  • Disappeared Dad: Mayor Alvin states Ope's father is ambiguously "out of the picture," and either can't or won't help with Ope's current family situation, meaning Alvin is Ope's primary family figure.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Ope's first interaction with the Player and Tasim is to say that he was bitten by a spider and is in dire need of a medicinal herb, send the two off on a quest for said medicinal herb, and then proceed to run off and not pay the two at all.
  • Hidden Depths: At the festival of the bonfire, Ope reveals he works as a Con Man to try and demonstrate to his uncle Alvin the kind of person he believes himself to be, showing he's motivated out of self-spite rather than the real desire to scam people.
  • I Miss Mom: His mother Lacrona died rather recently, taking a hefty toll on him.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: If you invite him to the Blizzard Festival he pays you all the money he owes you for helping him in 'Infested Plants' and 'Supply and Demand.' Despite all his bluster, he's just very lonely.
  • Mythology Gag: His Lacrona was the NPC of 'Suspended Flowers,' the quest that existed prior to 'Infested Plants.' This is only explicitly stated by Asher in the Festival of the Blizzard 2023.
  • Noodle Incident: He’s banned from using the trade market after trying to buy out the world’s supply of magical powders. Exactly how or why this happened is never commented upon.
  • Perpetual Poverty: From 'Infested Plants' to 'Supply and Demand', Ope claims to have no money to speak of, losing it on unrelated issues. The fact that he has no home either (except for a house his uncle no longer uses) adds to this.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: His interactions during the bonfire festival imply he only recently started scamming people due to his mother's death. Especially when he snidely calls himself "never-caused-any-trouble Ope."

    Yahya (SPOILERS UNMARKED)
A Gavellian Villager who, along with his brothers Nohno, Mehme, and Sohso, used to be a researcher employed by Gavel Excavation to study meteors. Unfortunately, this caused Yahya to go insane and drop out of the investigation.
  • Big, Screwed-Up Family: Three of the four brothers researched magical meteors until they went insane. Their interpersonal relationships with each other are unknown, but if you invite Nohno to the Festival of the Blizzard and ask if he knows Yahya, Nohno freaks out and goes off on a tangent about how much he dislikes him due to incessantly talking about mushrooms. It's pretty safe to say they're not on the best terms.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Yahya's mushrooms. That is all.
  • Sanity Slippage: Unfortunately Yahya found out firsthand that the Gavellian meteors cause this.

Time Valley

    Asher
"Time Valley? Oh... It's really interesting, actually. I've found tons of cool objects while I've been researching here! And... then... lost those objects. Lots of times."

An amateur archaeologist studying Time Valley.
  • Absentminded Professor: While not exactly a professor, he is a Time Valley researcher, and it's very clear he's nailed the absentminded part.
  • Constantly Curious: If you invite him to the Festival of the Blizzard, he mentions he's constantly looking for new and interesting objects in Time Valley. This is partly what leads to him being trapped in so many temporal paradoxes.
  • Death Course: A big part of his associated quest, 'Deja Vu,' is preventing Asher from dying as he wanders around pre-Portal Time Valley. The Player needs to prevent deaths ranging from a crane accident to a cosmic event.
Old Man Martyn: Not sure how you will stop a cosmic event, though.
  • Mythology Gag: In his associated quest 'Deja Vu,' Asher mentions he lost his shovel looking for purple flowers. In 'Suspended Flowers,” the quest he made an appearance in prior to 'Deja Vu,' his mentor Lacrona was looking for said purple flowers (of which Asher couldn't remember the name).
  • Never Got to Say Goodbye: His dialogue during the Festival of the Blizzard reveals he feels this way about his mentor Lacrona, who died due to a spider attack.
  • Oblivious to Hatred: Subverted. He's very aware that Ope dislikes him, but isn't entirely sure why (at least he knows it's because of Lacrona), nor does he know what to do about it. Clearly, he doesn't give it too much mind.
  • Temporal Paradox: 'Deja Vu' is all about one he finds himself in. He keeps getting sent to the past, where he dies, and keeps picking up his shovel in the present. Fortunately the Player and Old Man Martyn manage to put a stop to it.

    Old Man Martyn
"The valley is banned for most citizens. I watch over this timeline because of poor souls like Asher."

The mysterious watcher of Time Valley, perpetually annoyed by all who trifle in the powers beyond comprehension.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: His skin is bright yellow, not unlike a Simpsons character.
  • Ambiguously Human: He's clearly much older and more powerful than he seems, recalling the Olm, and being the self-appointed guardian of Time Valley. Not only that, but he was apparently going to singlehandedly deal with the Time Troubles.
  • Deadpan Snarker: If you fail to protect Asher in the past during 'Deja Vu,' he'll deliver something of a Bond One-Liner and tell you to try again.
  • Mysterious Protector: Acts as something of one to Asher, though he can be considered one for Time Valley as a whole.

Detlas & Detlas Suburbs

    Rusty Bartender
The bartender of the Rusty Recruit in Detlas. As you progress in the game, he'll comment on your level and what quests you've done.
  • Everybody Calls Him "Barkeep": A straightforward example, though he could be named "Rusty."
  • Unfazed Everyman: None of your stories seem to surprise him, to the point of Dissonant Serenity. The only thing that seriously gets him is the fact that you've met Siegfried (if you've done 'The Hero of Gavel') or completed the Qira Hive.

    Dr. Picard
A scientist-wizard studying memories of Frumans prior to their coming over to Wynn.

Nemract & Ancient Nemract

    Seaskipper Captain
"Where are ya headed? Nemract, huh? A'ight! I'll get ya there in no time."

The steadfast Fast Travel sailor and boat merchant, not to mention a teller of great tales and lover of Nemract Whiskey.
  • Drink Characterization: He loves liquor, with Nemract Whiskey being his favorite. According to him it's cheap and reliable. His gift for the player during the Blizzard Festival is Wynnter’s Wine.
  • Everybody Calls Him "Barkeep": His real name isn't actually Seaskipper Captain, but as he's about to tell the Player his name, he cuts himself off to announce the ship's arrival at its destination.
  • Fantastic Racism: Discussed in-universe. One of his dialogue options while sailing is him complaining about how Corkus doesn't let him operate a station since he's a Villager.
  • Father Neptune: While his tales of fighting pirates are slightly exaggerated, he's a longtime sailor with hours of stories, a mastery of his craft, and a love of the ocean.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Some of his comments while fast traveling Lampshade a few out-of-universe jokes, such as shout bombs.
  • Passed-Over Inheritance: His brothers inherited everything their father had, and he was given the boat that ultimately became the VSS Seaskipper.
  • Seadog Beard: While he has a generic Villager skin, the beard on it gives him this appearance.
  • The Storyteller: Every time you take a trip on the VSS Seaskipper, he'll tell the Player something new.

     Sayleros, Drucksh, and their brother
A trio of brothers who lived in Nemract until a group of thieves killed most of their family, leaving Sayleros and Drucksh as sole survivors.
  • The Alcoholic: Drucksh. He sobers up for the Blizzard festival, but he has to be forced by Sayleros. Turns out Drucksh is a surprisingly nice guy when not drinking so much.
  • Addled Addict: Sayleros encourages you to take advantage of Drucksh like this in 'Grave Digger' by bribing him with Nemract Whiskey to hear where his brother is buried.
  • Drink-Based Characterization: Drucksh likes Nemract Whiskey because it's good, reliable, and cheap. Despite being the same words as Seaskipper Captain, it comes off as a bit darker.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: Drucksh drinks due to the loneliness and trauma that's come with losing his family in a thief attack.
  • No Name Given: Sayleros' brother's name is… well, just that. According to both Sayleros and Drucksh! His gravestone doesn't have any name on it, according to the weapon Cathedral.
  • Psychological Projection: The first thing Drucksh does when Sayleros comes to take him to Detlas is claim he's not an alcoholic, Sayleros is. Sayleros quickly calls Drucksh out for this.
  • Rich Bitch: Both Sayleros and Drucksh attest that their unnamed brother got rich by chance, then started to act like he was too good for the family. Heck, apparently he showed up to Craftmas once without any presents because he didn't want to waste his earnings.
  • Running Gag: Nobody can remember the third brother's name. It gets Played for Drama from time to time.
  • Sole Survivor: Sayleros and Drucksh are the only two of their family left alive after an ambush attack.

    General Grakken
"Oi! Hallo?! Chum? Why're you wandering round all bog-eyed? Come back to me now! Come on, pip pip! Let's see a bit more colour in your eyes- There we are! Back now, chap?"

The leading general of the Nemract militia.
  • I Am Very British: Played for Laughs, especially during 'The Dark Descent'.
  • Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism: As might be expected for
  • Stiff Upper Lip: Not even being in front of, as he calls it, "the literal gates of hell" gets him down from his calm-and-yet-spirited demeanour. At snowstorm Detlas, he'll comment on how miserable everybody in the barracks seems and tries to get them to engage in a rousing Craftmas carol.
  • Uncertain Doom: While he arrives with you at the end of the Underworld Crypt dungeon, in the Corrupted Underworld Crypt dungeon he leaves only a note that he and his crew are unsure whether they'll make it out alive. Considering they don't show up in the dungeon, it's hard to say what happened to them.
  • The Unintelligible: Not necessarily by the way he speaks, but his usage of such a wide variety of Britishisms renders him borderline incomprehensible at times. If you've invited both Graken and Kelight to Detlas for the 2023 Blizzard Festival, Kelight claims to be unable to interpret anything Graken says to the point of it "ruining" his vacation.

    Honip
A pirate who kidnaps innocent Nemract citizens to work on his ship.
  • Berserk Button: Rats. He does not like rats. At all.
  • Did You Actually Believe...?: Said verbatim to the player after he captures them. He does make a good point that the Player must've been pretty gullible to believe a random pirate offering to take them for an adventure was probably not a good idea.
  • Jerkass
  • Noodle Incident: Apparently he and his shipmates went to Pirate Cove, where an "incident" abounded.
  • Pet the Dog: His main saving grace from being a horrible pirate slaver is that he does, indeed, love and care for his dog Pep.
  • The Pirates That Dont Do Anything: Him and his crew are pirates— they genuinely do nothing with their time but kidnap people to help with their rat infestations. Honip even admits he and the rest of the crew really do suck at being mean and intimidating.

Nesaak & Twain Manor

    Alem
"You might want to leave. There is nothing in this graveyard. This place is private.”

A man who sees that the spirits in the Twain Manor can pass on to the next life.

    Mael Twain
The Black Sheep of the Twain family, gifted as a medium who wanted to appease spirits. In the present, he may or may not be Alem as stated above.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: His other brothers Theorick, Rickeo, and Dwendle had Elemental Powers, while he was instead a Magnetic Medium, leading him to be ostracized by his adoptive family.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Mael was the metaphorical Black Sheep, and his magic was described as "dark" by the rest of the Twains. However, he was far from an evil man, and dedicated his life to helping spirits move on to the afterlife.
  • The Eyore: What little we see of him, he's a bit glum and melancholic.
  • Long-Lived: Mael Twain lived to be at least 300 years old, teaching Bob the ways of the bow around 850 AP.
  • Magnetic Medium: Mael Twain's primary ability was to be one, and he used it to help spirits move onto the afterlife.
  • Unhappy Medium: While not unhappy about his job, he was an outcast even within his family due to his ability to communicate with spirits.

    Theorick Twain
Another Twain son, with ice powers and an attitude to match. Rather than seek other children to continue his adopted father's legacy, Theorick decided to protect Nesaak with his life.

Troms & The Dernel Jungle

    Kelight
"However, as a Legend, I am very busy, autographs and the sort, and that's not to mention my guard duty! Let me see if you are even worth my time."

The challenge Keeper who hosts the Temple of Legends.
  • Informed Attribute: He's apparently a Legend, the Temple's strongest guard, and has fought many battles, but he's never actually seen in action.
  • Santa Ambiguity: Hilariously, asking him if Santa is a legend will have him speak about Santa as a Legend, meaning someone who belongs in the Temple of Legends (note the capitalization). Reluctantly, he'll admit Santa is, in fact, a Legend.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Pretty much everybody who interacts with him notes him as extremely full of himself. Rayshyroth calls him "snooty" and Garull calls him "pompous." As for what Kelight shows himself, he's very quick to call the Player "nothing special" when they first interact with him, and he treats them as an inferior for the whole 'Temple of the Legends' quest. Afterward he at least admits he underestimated the Player, not like he treats them better.
  • The Unfettered: He's stubbornly committed to guarding the Temple of the Legends, and he will not let you through until you really prove yourself.

    Worid
"Who wouldn't be a fan of Worid?"

A scheming Hustler from Ibjou Village who claims to need liquid emeralds to cure a mysterious case of "jungle fever."
  • Blatant Lies: Sure, Worid, you need a stack of liquid emeralds note  to cure your disease. Sure.
  • Did You Actually Believe...?: Never said directly to the player, but something he mutters to himself on his own. It's a wonder the Player decides to help him at all.
  • Foil: To Ope, a more Lovable Rogue than he. Rather than asking for favors which he can't repay, Worid goes right to the source and uses people to steal money for him. More directly, while Ope manages to pay you back for your favors, while Worid gives you a cut of the profits he stole from Detlas' bank.
  • The Heist: He plans one out to steal liquified emeralds from the Almuj bank during 'Jungle Fever.'
  • Hustler: His short con is to fake an illness to get liquid emeralds. Shockingly, this manages to work with the Player.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: He has a strangely Villager-esque appearance, with a large nose and a heavy brow. There’s never any discussion of why this is the case.

    Slykaar
"I can sense your life force... it is very powerful. I shall take pleasure in draining it from your body!"

A villainous shaman living on the outskirts of Troms. He helped keep the city safe from the Corruption, but used Human Sacrifice and meddled in dark magic.
  • A God Am I: His final words in the notes of project Slingra state this almost word for word— it's pretty clear he wasn't your average Glory Hound while guarding Troms, since he relished the fact that he could simply chose not to defend Troms and the city would fall.
  • Blob Monster: Slykaar specializes in slimes. While he didn't intend to do this at first, he began to intentionally amass an army of them following his Face–Heel Turn.
  • Dark Messiah: He was the only person who could even try and defend Troms from the Corruption, albeit through his own means. Then Bob showed up and the people were more than willing to cast Slykaar out, which caused him to become bitter towards the people he protected and caused him to start amassing an army of his own.
  • Finishing Move: As part of Corrupted Undergrowth Ruins' boss fight, Corrupted Slykaar rises into the air in his third phase, and you need to bounce up on slime to hit him one last time, killing him.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Slykaar was once the haughty, commandeering defender of Troms, creating monstrous slimes from unwilling test subjects to defend the citadel from the undead. However, when Bob appeared to defend against the corrupt scourge, the people of Troms flocked to him, turning their back on the dark shaman. The deposed Slykaar grew in bitterness, researching darker and darker magicks, and went on to create the Undergrowth Ruins, plotting to destroy Troms out of raw spite.
Slykaar: They were willing to give me a few peasants in 831, when the hordes crossed the bridge. The king was happy to throw away lives to save his. But then the hero of Wynn waltzed in a few years later. They banished me like a rotten fruit. Their hero, their protector.
  • Human Sacrifice: Being a dark shaman, Slykaar specialized in these. He lords it over the Player as a threat and a promise that they will become his next sacrifice in both the regular and corrupted Undergrowth Ruins dungeons.
  • Living Is More than Surviving: Invoked in the Corrupted Undergrowth Ruins, where Corrupted!Slykaar mentions he fears death, but at the end of the day, has nothing to live for.
  • Mad Scientist: While Slykaar is specifically a shaman, his experiments with dark/Dernic magic and slime DNA in 'Corrupted Betrayal' make him come across as one.
  • Pocket Dimension: Slykaar's Realm, a hidden dimension Slykaar made in his house to avoid being run out of Troms.
  • Sunken Cost Fallacy: Invoked in some of his Boss Banter, where he tries to get the Player to turn back because so many sacrifices will have been made in vain.
  • Unequal Rites: He sets a pretty poor example of what shamans are like.
  • Witch Doctor: A villainous example, with him being a shaman.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: Played Straight as he researched Dernic magic. In the Corrupted Undergrowth Ruins dungeon, he mentions the Player's life force as feeding his sanity.

    The King of Troms
The King of Troms.

    Amadel (SPOILERS UNMARKED)
The head of Wynn Excavation, initially posing as a traitor to the conglomeration.

The Ocean

    General Skien
"I refuse to truly fall.. so even if my efforts are futile, I will keep fighting, in the name of Troms."

A former Human leader of the Tromsi army. Well known for his strength and insight into battles, his fame and fortune came to an end when he was attacked by one of his own soldiers, causing the decimation of Troms. The blame was placed on him rather than the traitor, and he was sent to a faraway island to be exiled. To this day his Corrupted corpse remains.

    Nohno (SPOILERS UNMARKED)
A Gavellian Villager who, like his brother Yahya, used to be a researcher employed by Gavel Excavation to study meteors only to go insane from the effects. His insanity has manifested in a bizarre love of chickens.
  • Interspecies Romance: An informed version with Nohno's wife, who appears to be a regular chicken. Despite Nohno alleging that her parents disapproved, they seem to be pretty happy.
  • Never Live It Down: Nohno will never forgive the Player for killing Cluckles, and will accuse them of coming to kill his wife in every interaction the Player has with him for the rest of the game.

The Silent Expanse

    ??? (SPOILERS UNMARKED)
The cryptic quest giver of 'A Hunter's Calling,' who speaks in riddles and pushes the Player to find their "end."
  • Unknown Species:
  • Speaks in non-rhyming riddles and cryptic messages.
  • Weirdly enough, in 2021, you could invite them to the Blizzard Festival in Detlas as an easter egg. Not that they actually go, but still.
