SCPs 2000 to 2099

• SCP-2000 Deus Ex Machina. Right from the get-go, you know this is something big when you see they've got a cognitohazard safeguard, just like the SCP-001 page. Then you see its classification: Thaumiel. Essentially, it is a huge facility capable of cloning the entirety of the human race in the event of an end-of-the-world scenario, able to set the culture and civilization of mankind to any period of time chosen, with politically important figures copied exactly to get the world running back on track. It is an enormous Reset Button. The scary part is it has already been pressed who knows how many times. A corpse found in it is dated back 450-700 years, and a letter accompanying it indicates that it was around long before then. The attached notes also indicate that we've still screwed it up by rewinding too far before its repopulation began, which ended up causing World War II. One note even says that they will not try reducing humanity's violent and sociopathic tendencies, because they already did, successfully. That corpse? It may have been Doctor Clefs. Yes, the doctor's walking around fine, and has no idea why there's a centuries-old corpse that has his security credentials, and yet there it is, with a note marking that even he, and then, had absolutely no idea when, and for what, they built the facility. The Wrong Proposal suggests that SCP-2000 has only been around since approximately the first half of the 20th century (the first O5-5's successor note was likely written at the very beginning when the facility was merely an idea.) Which means that, based on the corpse, the machine has been used at least a whopping 22-35 times.
• SCP-2003, Preferred Option, is a straight-up time machine used by the Foundation to find out about possible futures and guide humanity onto the correct path:
  • The method used is pretty horrific in itself (only brain and nervous tissue can survive time travel intact, so travelers must be 'prepared' suitably) but that's not the scary part.
  • There's a memo explaining that the Foundation is using all its resources to try to keep the timeline on course for a particular future designated XN. What happens in scenario XN? In 2349, an asteroid hits the Earth, wiping out most of humanity and rendering the planet uninhabitable. Of all the possible futures the Foundation has encountered, this is the best outcome. It IS the best outcome, in the sense that it's the only one the Foundation has observed where humanity survives the first century of the 2000s.
  • In all other timelines so far observed, everything from the collapse of society to total planetary extinction occurs anywhere between 10-50 years from present-day from a wide variety of causes, from our Sun spontaneously transforming into a black hole, freezing the Solar System but somehow leaving humanity conscious and aware, to a disease that makes people obsessed with spiders infecting 85% of the population and forcing them to breed more, which eventually leads to the death of 6 billion. An alternate scenario documented by the time machine describes humanity simply moving out to space colonies, though life remains much the same. O5-7 tries to rush research to avert both scenario XN and several other unrelated end-of-the-world scenarios. Turns out they were too short on time. There also exist Magnifier Individuals. These are people with a disproportionate effect on time, whose fates can somehow influence events they have no apparent part in. For example, the birth of an unnamed boy in Turkmenistan and the election of a New Zealand Prime Minister both happening on the same day in 2049 results in a society-destroying nuclear exchange in 2058. The scenario where the sun becomes a black hole? That occurred when three South Korean astronauts went up to the International Space Station. One of the futures looked pretty promising. After a flu pandemic killed over a billion people between 2023 and 2034, world governments worked together to resolve long-standing ethnic conflicts, reduce poverty and famine, and mitigate sea level rise. Then, on July 29, 2059, all human and animal life on Earth just vanishes without a trace. None of them return and there's no clear reason why it happened at all.
• SCP-2004, Personal Data Assistants of the Gods, a collection of hand-held data assistants that show information in some kind of unknown language. When a person views the information, their mind alters over the course of a week where they can only speak, read, and write in that language. Eventually, they begin to develop dangerous anomalous abilities. And like many other memetic anomalies, they try to spread the information to others. Standard stuff right? Only, a) the abilities granted by the devices have only gotten worse over time, and b) the document on the last functioning device seems a bit... familiar. And then you open up the O5 security clearance and see a message that seems to imply (and later confirmed by Word of God) that what we know as normal consciousness is some sort of indoctrination, the effects of the anomaly and those exposed to it are people's true consciousness trying to get out, and that the O5 is spreading this information to protect reality from collapsing and to achieve some sort of "transcendence". And it turns out that other SCPs, including Keters, are "monsters from the id" trying to escape humanity's false consciousness, likely as a much more dangerous version of the psychic powers that allowed infected individuals to craft anomalous technology out of nowhere, and may or may not represent different kinds of fears. This was all put into place by a higher-order alien race and their version of the Foundation (in fact, humanity is considered to be their version of SCP-001), and the Overseers are currently the only people who know this and are willingly complying with their demands because it's just too dangerous for humanity to go back to their wild Reality Warper powers.
• SCP-2006, Too Spooky. At first, it doesn't seem so bad. It's a shape-shifting entity that seeks to scare people For the Lulz, but is otherwise friendly and cooperative. It's also not really that scary, usually taking the form of Ro-Man and jumping out at people with cheesy lines. Even so, all personnel have to act terrified of it and continually remind SCP-2006 that it's the master of horror. Why? Not only does it have limitless shape-shifting abilities, but it's completely indestructible and always searches for new ways to scare people. The only reason it takes such Narmy forms is that the Foundation takes advantage of its poor understanding of human emotion by only showing it low-budget horror and sci-fi movies. If SCP-2006 were to breach containment, it could discover what really scares people. Why imagine what SCP-2006 might do? The author has written up a non-canon but possible scenario of what might happen should it learn what causes fear. It doesn't harm anyone, but it shows awareness of the facility and their fear of whether or not they really have the SCP objects in storage, or they just delude themselves into thinking they do. Which carries some chilling implications. Oh, and that it was Obfuscating Stupidity the whole time. Beware the Silly Ones indeed.
  Dr. Owings: Imagine if it saw the horror and fear of war, or the concepts of paranoia or phobias common to each and every human being. Imagine if it found the true horror of a nuclear holocaust or an XK-Class scenario. Now couple that with an entity that possesses shape-shifting abilities with no known limits, and you'll understand why it's classified as Keter.
• SCP-2009, "Thomas Hoang", is a disease that causes the rapid Body Horror transformation of anyone infected with its spores into a Chinese-American man named "Thomas Hoang", from Pollensbee, California. The transformation causes severe psychological distress as infected people are effectively slowly overwritten by Hoang, his memories and his mind, until eventually they are replaced completely by a copy of Hoang, which the Foundation refers to as SCP-2009-01. The worst part is that SCP-2009-01 isn't malicious and doesn't really know that he's doing it, he's just some guy who believes himself to be Thomas Hoang. The SCP was originally discovered in 1998, when he had managed to infect almost half the population of a town in Missouri, which resulted in the Foundation having to burn the entire town to the ground. The end logs are particularly chilling, depicting an African woman mid-transformation into Hoang, already losing some of her memories to his memories and believing his mother to be her mother. What's worse is we don't even know if there was an original Hoang, and if there was, what the hell happened to him to make him into this.
• SCP-2030, LA U GH IS F UN, is a television series that consists of prank videos that spontaneously appears on streaming sites (and before the emergence of such sites, on stores as DVDs and VHS). First, there's the fact that all the people seen in the audience or in the prank segments disappeared or died during the year the episode is released. Mysterious, but a bit tame. The real kicker, though, is that the pranks are supernatural, horrifying, disturbing and are complete mindfuck-fests. The most bizarre part is that, no matter how horrible and vomit-inducing the pranks are, the victims will laugh them off as soon as the show's host reveals himself. And of course, the article describes some of those episodes. Even worse, it's implied that the show selects its victims from the viewership pool. Its host also speaks in broken English and is implied to be a cannibal, or worse. Oh, and of course it can out-squick and deliver a heavy dose of Mind Screw to even SCPs like SCP-2852.
  Note: Video cuts off abruptly and a black screen is displayed for thirty seconds. Laughter and soft, wet noises can be heard in the background before the program ends.
• SCP-2031, Ant farm, another arthropod specimen. Specifically a colony of ants that act in unusual synchronicity, that instead of biting as soon as they get the chance, they like to wait to attack until they have surrounded their prey and give a fatal simultaneous attack. But what makes them particularly creepy is that these ants are essentially Puppeteer Parasites, with not only controlling the husk of the deceased victim but also performing actions that the victim would normally do, like animal husbandry and even burying collapsed hosts. Thankfully, they are contained to the farmland the Foundation found them in, but it could easily become Keter-level if it ever were to escape.
• SCP-2057, You Are What You Eat, is a brand of canned chicken noodle soup produced by Dr. Wondertainment.
  • If you drink it when it's warm, it can cure illnesses such as measles and the flu... but if you drink it when it's cold, your sickness will get worse and your body will start to develop chicken-like features... and if you drink it after it's been reheated, you'll start to grow feathers all over your body, you'll start acting like a chicken, your mouth will turn into a beak, and then you'll die of cardiac arrest from your internal organs suddenly changing into chicken organs. And this product was being sold to children!! It was so dangerous that Wondertainment decided to stop producing the stuff.
  • The article includes a copy of a rather unnerving letter that a man wrote to his friend whose children were sick with measles, telling him where he could find the cans of soup, and warning him not to disobey the instructions on the product. One can only hope the father followed the directions. Otherwise…
• SCP-2059, Wall of Flesh. Some kind of amorphous mass of body tissue, which will assimilate any living creature that touches it, minus keratinous materials like skin and hair. It currently consists of a blue whale, a giant squid, a pair of dolphins, three hundred rodents, several specimens of livestock and pets, thirty-one humans, and an unknown number of insects. The weird thing is that 85% of the assimilated organs are just sitting there, inactive. Also, not only is SCP-2059 fully sentient, but consists of two separate bits of intelligence: a Buddhist man who has retained some of his individuality and an entity referred to as "the child." At one point, the Buddhist was able to communicate with a Foundation scientist by using SCP-2059's biomass to form a new face. According to him, the child comes from a different place with different rules, which the Buddhist refers to as the "third cycle of (UNINTELLIGIBLE)." He has little understanding of things like a heart and liver, which is why most of the organs in SCP-2059 are inactive. This seems to imply that he may actually be absorbing life against his own will. The page also has a picture of part of the thing. Viscera and all, including an eye of the giant squid and what looks like an aforementioned face.
• SCP-2089, /john/. Reading this SCP seriously changes the way you see the terms "internet hate machine". Case in point: the anomaly is associated with a random guy's blog on the Internet, typically held in a Q&A format, not unlike Reddit AMAs. The anomaly in question? Nothing much, except anyone who regularly follows John's content gets stricken with a Hate Plague just like 053's. The twist? "In 48% of recorded videos, SCP-2089-1 (John) will attempt to commit suicide, with only 11% of those attempts being successful." Who encourages him to do so? The aforementioned followers. The Hate Plague influences them to start making anti-John content, from simple negative comments to a case of a D-class writing a poem named "Fuck John" with his own blood. And every time John posts a video of him failing to or successfully commit suicide, there's always a video posted the next time showing him without any injuries he sustained in the previous video. What's causing him to come back alive and well the next day? Well, take a look at Addendum 2089-03, a video of another one of his suicide attempts. Unlike his other suicide videos, he's wearing a mask instead of his hoodie and he's responding to an unidentified male figure who may or may not be his superior. The figure hands John a noose and John walks up to a chair placed underneath a fan and hangs himself, only for the fan to break off and crash on him. The figure pulls the fan off and takes a picture of John (who's revealed to have a severe skull fracture on the back of his head and is coughing up blood) and places him on the chair before pushing the chair toward the camera. The figure then says that "John is an entertainer. You followers expect torture, rape, castration, suicide. And John gives you exactly that. Isn't that right, John?" And John nods in the affirmative. The figure then reveals that they keep him alive because "a dead entertainer isn't an entertainer at all", and "demonstrates" by whacking John's skull fracture wound with a blunt object, opening the wound and revealing the brain. And John is still alive after all that. And the video? It's addressed to MrBRASIL, one of John's followers. The figure declares that "[John] belongs to him". And take a look at the comments posted in response to the video:

SCPs 2100 to 2199

• SCP-2121, Gods' Noose, is another anomaly that belongs to the mundane object made of organic tissue category. It's a hangman's noose that is to be "fed" with a religiously devout D-class personnel every lunar month. When the D-class is executed, he/she will still be able to speak when he/she is being strangled, though the speech is always religious-related such as wails of despair, cursing, or pleading for mercy towards an unknown deity. After more than 3 minutes, the D-class will pass away and the body will be dried out of any bodily fluid. Blood will be consumed by the noose, while the rest will pour down to the floor. In the case the noose is not offered a sacrifice every lunar month (approx. 28 days), it will emit a series of screams, moans of pain, panicked voices, etc. that will increase up to 137 dB in the next 24 hours in a 1.7 km radium and will cause any religious believer to commit suicide as soon as it hears the noise. No matter what soundproof object or place you are in, the noise will still catch you. It was found in a village in northeast Russia. To placate it, the local priest offered criminals in order to protect the villagers and so did its predecessors before him. The noose and its rite existed at least 500 years ago with the foundation of the village and the eradication of the pagan tribes that lived there.
• SCP-2151, The Ties That Bind Us, is a pair of rings that fuse the two people wearing them together, in a process that's described with marvelous detail. It was found with a fleshy mass resulting from the rings' usage, consisting of a 17 year old girl and someone who left her a creepy Yandere love note, and genetic testing on the flesh mass reveals they were closely related to the girl.

SCPs 2200 to 2299

• SCP-2207, Dimensional Razor, is a knife that if sliced at 6 m/s, it'll create a rift between our universe to another random universe. In the explorations conducted, it shows that the Earths in these universes there are somewhat...off, to say the least, such as one world where a total eclipse sucks up all the people towards it, people sagging and melting down in less than ten minutes, or when a D-Class became totally stuck as soon as he steps over to the other world, where his only sign of response in an increased activity via an EEG cap. The real kicker is when after conducting several explorations using SCP-2207, they received a cease-and-desist by a multiversal organization to stop their antics, lest the universe faces punishments which may or may not be related to an Apocalypse How event.
• SCP-2222, Meschk-Mernanschordbtoum-Vordhosbn V 7, an airlock in a space station that causes any animal trapped within it to turn into a Body Horror victim who can only communicate backwards. The first humans also had messages burnt into their skins. Further exploration by the Foundation discovers the thing is sort of a television to a sadistic extraterrestrial race who entertains themselves by torturing the humans. One even hijacks one of the restricted Foundation reports to explain.
• SCP-2271, Factory Loans, manifests itself as an innocent, comically-misspelled letter detailing the owing of student loan repayments greater than that of the planet's liquid assets. It seems silly enough until you realize it's a Keter class, a serious Cognito-hazard, and a cranked-up dose of everyday anxieties. Upon merely touching the letter, a subject is infected, becoming irrationally obsessed with paying the debt listed. They'll sell off all of their possessions and funnel the cash to the debt collectors, violently reacting to any impediment. And when they run out of what you'd usually call a possession? Next, it's body parts, teeth, blood, even the subject's loved ones (the footnote describing how this is typically done is particularly unnerving) until the subject is killed from all those vital organs they tried to package. All the while, you're harried by spectral figures in the corner of your eye who become steadily more aggressive if you don't cough up. Worse still are the incident reports — without spoiling too much, this little letter takes out two towns in Nebraska and an entire Foundation site. Seconds before the site was destroyed (due to infected individuals breaching containment and the place going up in flames from a tripped nuclear failsafe), it transmitted a letter to Site-01, a scan of an SCP-2271 instance smeared with a permanent marker (the original instance, per Word of God, is what started the breach in the first place). The message on top strongly implies that its source, like several other anomalies that spread through information, knows that it is being contained and is incredibly pissed. Links in the article also strongly suggest Factory Financial Management is a subsidiary of the Factory, as interpreted in SCP-001-O5.
  THERE IS A PLACE IN HELL FOR DEBTORS AND A HOLE JUST YOUR SIZE
• SCP-2284, "Mr. Lie", the final of the Little Misters Wondertainment SCPs to get an article, and it is the longest by far. SCP-2284 is a male humanoid of Indian descent who physically cannot tell the truth and whoever hears its lies will instantly believe them, even through audio recordings. However, questions posed by SCP-2284 and transcriptions of its speech can act as loopholes, so they decided to conduct a text-to-speech interview with a D-class personnel. Throughout the interview, SCP-2284 slowly starts to learn the extent of its own abilities to the point of being able to confuse the D-class by saying contradictory statements and was able to write on their notes a message to be passed onto a researcher that can edit its article and do an unsupervised interview with SCP-2284. Due to this, SCP-2284's procedure was rewritten by a Researcher so that it would be contained adjacent to its brother, SCP-2148, and that its description would be changed to tell its abilities to have the opposite effect. It gets worse as SCP-2284 put in a couple of recordings of itself, the first of which is a trick to convince anyone that the changes are completely normal. The second recording, which only can be viewed by Dr. Mann, is the beginning of an interview with Dr. Mann, where it can convince him that it is an O5. The rest of the interview is cut out, but a link below it links to Dr. Mann's Project Thaumiel entry, in which an O5 convinces Mann to kill the entire council and then himself. So effectively, an SCP has been masquerading as an O5 member and secretly manipulating the Foundation without any of them possibly being able to know.

SCPs 2300 to 2399

• SCP-2316, "Field Trip":
  • SCP-2316 is a lake, containing anywhere between 45 and 200+ human corpses. Viewing the corpses or reading about them causes one to believe they recognize the corpses in the water as people they know, usually from childhood. Individuals who don't attempt/are unable to resist this effect inevitably attempt to go to the lake and reach the corpses before drowning and becoming part of the SCP. Throughout the article, a voice talks to the reader, attempting to reveal the names of the corpses and telling them to return to the lake. A hidden link at the end of the page reveals a message telling the reader to remember the summer of '75, before repeatedly asking "Can you hear them?"
  • Part of the voice's ramblings mentions that the Foundation is responsible for the existence of the lake and itself because of their overzealous defense of the Veil. Until Series V, this was easily taken as yet another lie to get the reader to go into the lake... until SCP-4833 released, which chronicles the organization known as Syncope Symphony responsible for the "Class of '76" anomalies, SCP-2316 seemingly being one of them. When a Foundation agent confronts their leader in the present, the ensuing confrontation implies SCP-2316 is telling the truth, and it is neither their creation nor their minion. That same silence and ruthlessness SCP-2316 chides the Foundation for is what created Syncope Symphony themselves when SCP-2000 tried to destroy them after surviving an XK-class event, and years later, it's implied Syncope went back to the lake and got SCP-2316 to join up with them. The end result? A plot to Restart the World, with an incredibly powerful sapient cognitohazard as The Dragon and many more experts in reality-bending fueled by an insatiable lust for revenge at the top. They win while horrifically maiming thousands of innocent lives in the process, and it's all the Foundation's fault.
• SCP-2317, "A Door To Another World". The page contains 6 tabs, each a record of a different SCP staff member logging in to the database to read the SCP entry, each with increasing security clearance that reveals more and more sensitive information.
  • The first iteration, a lowly staff assistant, gets almost no information at all, other than that it's a wooden door frame that leads to another world, kept in security by the Foundation.
  • A security specialist finds out that it's Keter and more about the containment procedures, including something called "Procedure 220-Calabasas".
  • An assistant researcher finds out more about the nature of the SCP and potential consequences for failing to perform the containment procedure — a potential XK-Class End of the World scenario.
  • A senior researcher gets most of the details of Procedure 220-Calabasas, which now requires a high-clearance Foundation staff member pretending to be a Class D and some form of ritual sacrifice.
  • Dr. Crow himself reveals the true nature of the threat: an immensely titanic entity, estimated at over 200km in height, imprisoned below the ritual site by 7 colossal chains — 6 of which have already broken. However, it does slightly alleviate the horror by also revealing that the sacrifice required daily is only a chicken. But, the worst is yet to come...
  • The O5-restricted entry reveals that, while the description of the world beyond the door and the imprisoned entity are accurate, the rest of the entry is a complete lie. The SCP? Not the portal, but the entity imprisoned beyond it itself, a creature referred to as "the Devourer of Worlds". Its true object class designation? It doesn't have one, instead getting the special access designation CODE NIGHTMARE REGENT RED. The containment procedures? "Irrelevant." While the Foundation is desperately trying to find a way to contain the Devourer when it inevitably breaks free sometime within the next century, at the moment they're at a loss to either repair or replace the broken chains or prevent the last one from breaking. All the hoo-ha and fuss about "Procedure 220-Calabasas" earlier in the document? A smokescreen the O5s have implemented to prevent panic by convincing people that they're achieving something meaningful.
  • In short? We're effectively doomed and the SCP Foundation can't save us! This raises a terrifying possibility: what if the containment procedures for some other SCPs are lies too? What if 231-7, for example, will give birth to whatever it is inside her eventually and Procedure 110-Montauk is just a cruel facade under the guise of Well-Intentioned Extremism?
  • On the topic of SCP-231, read the two side-by-side. SCP-2317 has one last chain keeping it restrained. SCP-231-7 is the last carrier alive. 110-Montauk may very well be the one thing keeping us from annihilation.
• SCP-2399, A Malfunctioning Destroyer, is a massive, complex, mechanical structure of extraterrestrial origin, that made its way from the Triangulum galaxy to our solar system for unknown reasons. On the way, it collided with one of Jupiter's moons, Io, and fell to the planet below, and it has spent hundreds of years slowly recovering. Why is it listed as Keter? Whatever this structure is, it is immensely powerful, with the ability to dramatically affect the atmosphere around it. The Red Spot on Jupiter? That was created by 2399 moving. It also has shown to have a force-field that makes it Nigh-Invulnerable, as well as antimatter weapons. The foundation predicts that, should it come into contact with Earth, it would result in XK Barren- Earth end-of-the-world scenario. The only prevention the Foundation has against it is Protocol LEGIONNAIRE-5, which they are currently working on developing before it manages to reach 75% repaired. And the Protocol itself? It is a plan that isn't even close to being finished, being a proposed system that will launch a massive EMP at 2399, followed by countless nukes. And even if they do manage to develop it, they predict that it won't even scratch the thing. But this plan is all they have. And one more creepy detail? SCP-2399 has been receiving encoded messages from the Triangulum galaxy that the Foundation has been blocking with the BARRIER array. The problem being that the array is slowly failing and that the message that it's currently blocking is an order to stop all repairs and head for Earth.
  • A tale titled The Last Man seems to be about the poor individual tasked with living on the moon while LEGIONNAIRE-5 is being prepped. As SCP-2399 does head to Earth, LEGIONNAIRE-5 is fired... and the effect is essentially moot. He sits there and weeps over the fact that Earth won't survive while he lives as the last man alive, alone on the moon. In this animation, we get to see a recording from said survivor, detailing the events of what happened in hopes that someone or something will find it. At the very end, after it is revealed that SCP-2399 is still hovering nearby, he gives whatever is watching one last message to remember him by.
  To whoever you are, whatever you are, I am the last man, and on behalf of my species, and my planet, you should have stayed far, FAR away from us.

SCPs 2400 to 2499

• SCP-2419, The Laughing Men. Ever wonder how amnestics are made? From y-909, the stuff Anantashesha makes when it eats humans. Turns out the Foundation found out they could get the same compound with significantly less danger of mental degradation by boiling away every happy memory from the corpses of D-class. Well, turns out even corpses aren't happy about having everything happy boiled away. The corpses are crawling out of incinerators and attacking any sapient being they can get their hands on. That alone makes them utterly horrifying, combined with the fact that they are nigh-invulnerable. The Wham Line seals the dread:
  Operator Maddox: The things in SCP-2419 aren't screaming with fear or pain, Bryan.
  They're not screaming at all.
  They're laughing.
• SCP-2430, Immortal Hitler Clone, is a clone of Adolf Hitler, yes, that Adolf Hitler. After Hitler committed suicide in 1945 when the Soviet Union stormed Berlin, the Soviets were angered by this, as Joseph Stalin wanted to punish him for a personal betrayal. To get his payback, Stalin made a deal with some Sarkicist Cultists to resurrect Hitler with a pain capacity three times as strong as a normal human using what DNA remained combined with the flesh of an immortal boar from Norse Mythology. Five years later, the cultists were able to successfully create an immortal clone of Hitler with the desired enhanced pain reception and regeneration capability so Stalin could have his fun for as long as he wanted. After Stalin's death, the clone was buried alive by G.R.U.P, rescued by sympathisers who took him to Argentina, but eventually ended up in the custody of the S.C.P Foundation. For all intents and purposes, this is the real Hitler, the only differences being immortality and a heightened sense of pain. It's a terrifying thought for anyone who may have suffered under the Nazi Regime. Though, on a slightly lighter note, Foundation employees have permission to punch him.
• SCP-2439, [SLOT UNALLOCATED], For some bizarre reason, no SCP uses this number and as a result it is the current unofficial number for an unnamed entity. What is this entity? It's an evil ancient mind from another reality that slowly takes over the minds of those that know about it, and it is currently being contained by D-Class personal working together to keep the foundation from finding out about it as it would become far too dangerous with their resources, something that only works because they are killed at the end of the month which means it can't fully take over their minds in time. It doesn't even have a file in-universe for these reasons and its "file" is just writing on a wall in a room that the foundation pays no attention to. The only reason D-Class spread knowledge about the entity among themselves is because they don't know what would happen if no one knows about it and aren't going to take that risk. The D-Class may not know what keter means, but the classification certainly fits this being.
• SCP-2456, Dreams of a Broken World, details a memetic parasite that affects a small portion of the population. Those affected at a certain time enter a three to six-day period of advanced REM sleep where they dream terrible visions and even small reality-warping effects that tend to be violent. After this, assuming they haven't been treated, they will be dormant for 6 days to 6 years, where then they will start preaching and forming an Apocalypse Cult version of an existing religion (most notably involving the number 5) that will infect others with the SCP. And it is something that the Serpent's Hand is trying to prevent the Foundation from finding at all. The last addendum shows why. A broken transcript from a Foundation member describes that the SCP has a third stage, an anti-meme that causes those affected to slowly fade from existence along with everything and everyone they knew (barring some slight exceptions), and implies that the Fifthtist Church is the most recent iteration of this religion, which sounds like something from H. P. Lovecraft. The infamous Star Signals book (see SCP-1425)? Essentially the bible for this reality destroying religion that has been fought for millennia. This implies that the entire world might be affected by the SCP. And of course, the Foundation, with their modus operandi, is unknowingly keeping the SCP alive by containing those affected and not outright eliminating them.

SCPs 2500 to 2599

• SCP-2521, ●●|●●●●●|●●|●, is a creature who steals every piece of information about itself, as long as the information is expressed in textual or verbal form. Because of that, everything about it is registered by ideograms and pics. Did we mention that people describing its report out loud count as "things that can be stolen" by this monster? And that the monster is impossible to contain? We don't even know what it does with the information or the people it steals, as the imagery suggests neither of which are ever seen again. It certainly gets rather suggestive when the creature is displayed with a heart in its head when it takes either the information or the person who described it, though this could merely be a way to display its want for the information.
• SCP-2571 is a recurrent childhood memory of a nonexistent theme park known as Cragglewood Park. Besides the incredibly unwholesome Nightmare Face at the end of the video log, the thing is, the memory fades when treated with amnestics, but will resurface when they are discontinued. Then, in the memory itself, the subject remembers that while visiting the park there were no adults, just many singing anthropomorphic trees and plants. And the park has only one ride, the merry-go-round, which the subject does not go on. There are no adults around, none of the kids know each other, and they're all are crying and scared. It's implied it all has something to do with SCP-437. For those who don't get it: Only pairs of siblings can enter Cragglewood Park. In order for one sibling to escape, the other has to take their place on the carousel, becoming a singing tree in the park forever. Afterwards, the family loses all memory of the sacrificed child. SCP-2571 is believed to affect 0.05% of the world's population. According to calculations by the author, that's about 3.75 million people. 3.75 million missing children whose families can't even remember them, and 3.75 million more people whose siblings loved them enough to sacrifice themselves to Cragglewood Park for them.

SCPs 2600 to 2699

• SCP-2669, Khevtuul 1, is a space probe launched by the Foundation in 2004 in order to find extraterrestrial life on exoplanets, as part of a Foundation extraterrestrial threat assessment program. Sounds benign; however, it is classified as Keter because it is heading at nearly 5 times the speed of light towards the Earth. That's not the scary part.
  • In order to achieve instantaneous communication from the probe to the Foundation, they voluntarily uploaded a researcher by the name of Dr. Asma Tareen to the probe. As an exobiologist, she was initially excited to research far away planets and have the possibility to discover extraterrestrial life. However, no matter how far she traveled, nor how many planets she studied, she found no signs of life anywhere. The universe appeared to be dead and desolate. This drove her insane, leading to her taking control of the probe and trying to escape her newfound hell by finding her body back on the Earth. The Foundation, as a countermeasure, decided to upload another scientist into the probe, hoping he would be able to stop her from crashing the probe into the Earth.
  • This managed to delay the probe for a bit, but it came back online shortly afterwards, this time without the scientist. It's implied that Asma somehow managed to assimilate him and his knowledge of orbital mechanics, allowing her to optimize her path towards the Earth. They sent more, trying to stop and delay the probe, getting more desperate until they started sending innocent civilians and coma patients. Their last idea for long-term containment is to upload newborns into the probe; she can't detect them due to their lower cognitive functions, allowing them to evade being destroyed by Asma. It's more than likely we are screwed anyways.
    This is novel. If I could scream my appreciation, I would. I long for that.

SCPs 2700 to 2799

• SCP-2701, True Solitary, is a cell in an abandoned prison. Anybody who is locked inside with their name and release date written on the intake list will disappear from sight until the start of the release date, where they will reappear. Disappeared subjects experience complete sensory deprivation while staying fully conscious. They could not age, sleep, or breathe and perceived time at a much slower rate than in the real world. For example, somebody who was gone for minutes would have experienced it as lasting several weeks. Unsurprisingly, returned subjects show a range of behavioral disorders. In the addendum, SCP-2701 was discovered when the warden placed numerous inmates inside the cell, causing the prison population to decrease dramatically. The log ends with the warden confirming that an outside force had created the SCP for him in return for his hatred and grief.
• SCP-2706, Resurrection Forest, is a forest of oak trees. Each of these oak trees have around 3-10 growths on them that periodically produce an animal. These include humans. Humans that have been dead as well as extinct animals. While this is interesting, it doesn't explain why it's classified as Keter. The article then goes on to describe an incident where growths that had been dormant for a long time spat out SCP-682. Three of them. Fortunately, the 682 clones weren't quite as nigh-indestructible as the real deal, but it still took MTF Nu-7 (the Foundation's heavy weapons specialists) to bring them down with overwhelming force, with the third instance in particular taking two hours to kill in a firefight that led to roughly 15% of the forest being destroyed. This comes to the conclusion that the longer the growths remain, the more dangerous the things that emerge... and there's an unhatched growth that's been there ever since the foundation found the SCP... And whatever is inside it, it's highly radioactive.
• SCP-2718, What Happens After.
  • To start, you'll notice that on the page, the index number of the SCP in the Item # and Special Containment Procedures fields is constantly fluctuating. Said Procedures make it a point that this is an extremely dangerous cognitohazard that you should not expose yourself to, ever, and advises you repeatedly to close your browser and clear your cache (it's noted that a lot of the SCP pages imply that the articles are meant to be read through a Foundation terminal rather than just any browser anywhere) The Procedures then note that the article can't be deleted, because it's so ingrained into the Foundation's digital infrastructure that deleting it would cause a catastrophic failure of the Foundation's critical systems. Instead, the best that the Foundation's been able to do is to have the article constantly swapped with other articles, using intentionally suboptimal coding to lengthen the amount of time that the article can't be accessed to take advantage of the fact that swapping articles briefly makes them inaccessible; this explains why the SCP number keeps cycling.
  • At first the Special Containment Procedures tell you to close your browser and there will be no consequences. But if you keep reading, it will then tell you that it is too late to close the browser and that you need to notify the help desk that your terminal is contaminated and you need to seek amnestic treatment. Keep reading anyway and you'll be told that you are also contaminated and need to be subject to Mobile Task Force "processing". What this "processing" proceture is, it's not made clear, but given that this is the SCP Foundation, it certainly can't be good...
  • If you scroll even further, you'll see a note left by an engineer who was assigned to improving the measures to reduce the chances of anyone finding the article by mistake. They then explain what their containment duty entails: First they were randomly chosen (implied to be through a rock-paper-scissors method) for the task. Then, they do their thing and then take a heavy-duty amnestic to forget about the whole thing and then some (stated to be years of their life), because if they don't complete their task, the amnestic doesn't work, or they don't take the pill ("if, upon return, they can remember the year or name the current U.S. President"), they have to be terminated. The "processing" procedure mentioned earlier in the article? The engineer mentioned that at least they won't be able to remember that, suggesting that whatever "processing" is, it's something quite horrific. Finally, the poor schmuck just had to go and read the description of the article and realizes that it's indeed the cognitohazard they were warned about, their last words (presumably before the amnestic kicks in) praying that they forget about the whole thing pretty quickly. So what is the cognitohazard that they were warned about? Well...
  • There's a lot of terrifying anomalies in the SCP universe, many of whom are capable of ending the world in their own ways. For the most part, the Foundation is able to contain them or at least find a way to prevent the most dangerous of them from harming anyone. That's not the case with SCP-2718. It's something completely unstoppable, will eventually affect every single person on the planet, and not even the Foundation fully understands it. It's death. More specifically, what happens to people after they die. While the Foundation has many ways of bringing people back, they don't really have any method of examining the mind of someone after they die. Or at least they didn't until they resurrected Roger Sheldon, formerly O5-11, using a new procedure. Roger had died of a stroke eighteen years earlier on Española Island, his corpse being reduced to almost nothing but a mess of bones. After scrounging up as much of him as they could, they were able to replicate him on the quantum level in order to find out what he had learned. There was no heaven or hell. Instead, he described being aware of everything after his death, unable to move from where he fell as his body slowly decayed. A feeling that continued even after his nerves were long gone and everything that used to be him has slowly pulled apart, trapped in a state of utter isolation and pain which a mortal brain is too small to comprehend. This is the fate that awaits everyone. And after Roger tells the O5 council about this, all of them have amnestics administered to themselves, SCP-2718 is designated a DAMMERUNG class cognitohazard where so much as reading its description is designated a containment breach, and Roger is sentenced to be returned to his Fate Worse than Death. It's just too much for any of them to know. And as for Roger? He eluded recapture long enough to willingly go into SCP-106's containment chamber. Yes, "The Old Man". That is how much Roger wanted to not return to the hell of absolute isolation and agony that awaits him after death. Of note is that we only know of this because of a second-hand report by Foundation security, who promptly follow the standing protocols for SCP-106 and declare him KIA; nothing is known to us about what exactly happened, and especially if what Roger was hoping for from this did in indeed come to fruition... or if he failed. And the worst part is that it might not even be real. It might just be a memetic infection. In which case, Roger gave himself to 106 for nothing. And given how persuasively written the account is, it's one that's already infected some of us...
  • The article preservation measures mentioned above? This was O5-7's doing! She wanted everyone to know about the (alleged), absolutely fiendish afterlife that (supposedly) awaits all of living humanity! Depending on how one interprets SCP-2718, either she really was being benevolent and trying to help find a way out for humanity, with the other O5s willing to suppress the truth no matter the cost, or she's the antagonist and trying to spread the cognitohazard to everyone else, with these esoteric containment procedures and protocols being the Fives' desperate bid against a memetic that she's ensured can't be destroyed without compromising the Foundation and consensus reality as we know it.
• SCP-2719, Inside. It's Keter. Things either "go inside" or "become inside." The only containment protocol for it states that it should be "kept inside." Knowing about it will cause you to go inside.
  • A bit of a Mind Screwdriver for those that don't really understand the article: essentially, SCP-2719 is a programming variable that applies to real life, and can be defined as an object or concept (which then "becomes inside") and have objects/concepts put inside. For instance, making cars and cities "inside" allows them to stick people inside of them, like D-class and the city's population, which incidentally also makes it quite useful for evacuation. Then you get to nasty stuff like defining a D-class as "inside" and putting things inside them, namely a second D-class and an entire containment cell. Eventually, the O5 council got wind of it and started trying to use it to achieve "transcendence", but for that, It Only Works Once... for better or worse. They don't necessarily keep knowledge of it off-limits because knowing about it makes you go inside; they may keep the knowledge off-limits because they don't want people screwing around with the universe. Like, say, making the Sun become inside and then putting the Earth inside.
  • This thing was used to try to kill SCP-682. It became inside, and was then put inside itself repeatedly. Then at the end, it was outside.
• SCP-2730, Q U A C K - Q U A C K, asks the question "What if Gilbert Gottfried was actually a duck?" and naturally answers it with the most disturbing answer possible. The phrase "mask made of Gilbert Gottfried's skin" begins the usual sample of Body Horror the Foundation has provided so much of, and continues on by describing what kind of traits a ducklike creature would have in order to pass for something human. However, the interview takes this gross but familiar description into left field: SCP-2730 keeps angrily insisting that it's the real Gilbert Gottfried to its interviewer, Dr. Rothfuss when it suddenly goes silent. Then it starts accusing Rothfuss of being a duck. The infrared video feed shuts down and starts up again, this time showing Gilbert as the real deal and Rothfuss as the ducklike creature. The accusations continue, with Rothfuss trying to figure out what's happening in his panic while Gilbert insists on calling him an imposter, when finally, Gilbert tells Rothfuss to take off his mask. And he does, exposing himself as an instance of SCP-2730.
• SCP-2740, It Wasn't There, is probably one of the most disturbing examples of Nothing Is Scarier and Unreliable Narrator on the entire website. SCP-2740 is a strange entity believed to be residing in the attic of a Lee residence. According to the description and containment procedure, it is not known if the entity even exists, but the anomalous properties stem from how those who live in and around residence insist that it exists. What really sells the creep factor on this SCP is that attempting to enter the attic fails, not because the SCP blocks passage or puts up some sort of barrier, but because a person who attempts to enter just gives up or is unable to carry one up the ladder. Essentially, people who do so end up "waking up" at some point in the house, almost as though they had woken up from a day dream, though some individuals such as the wife insist they have entered the attic even when evidence says otherwise. Oh, and ignoring the entity won't help, as it gives off some sort of dread that gnaws at the psyche of the residence of the home. The husband of the house, for example, claims that whenever he tried to enter the attic to confront the entity, he would simply find himself unable to go up the ladder, to his irritation. Because of this phenomena, the Foundation can't properly contain the entity, as personnel will simply believe they entered the attic when in reality they didn't. Even unmanned expeditions don't work, because they're really never conducted! These attempts may have included direct access through the second floor attic ladder, shaped charges situated at various points on the second floor ceiling, drone access through the ladder opening, manned and unmanned access by cutting through the roof, and complete leveling of the home. As stated above, no records exist that any of these methods were actually attempted. Oh, and the Lee family can't leave their home. Whenever they try to move away, the effects that manifest when they try to enter the attic happen when they try to exit the house. They are trapped in a house with an entity that may or may not even exist. Even more bizarrely, they interview Olivia Lee, the daughter of the family that's constantly alluded to, and she's apparently changed her name to Rebecca Feldman. But, by the end, investigation reveals that Olivia doesn't exist. If so... what was Olivia? How did the Foundation interview Rebecca Feldman? Have they interviewed her at all? If they did... What happened?
• SCP-2747, As below, so above, is a group of six pieces of media that are fictional, including a Radiohead album, a Satoshi Kon movie, a Gabriel García Márquez story, and others that are frequently mentioned across the internet (including on this wiki) but do not actually exist. It is implied that a group of symbols, iconographies, and motifs in these works spawned a entity known as an anafabula or anti-narrative, which eats narratives and can only be viewed by the Foundation by creating meta-narratives around it so they can watch it feed. It is implied that because of recurring tropes in these works, they were eaten from existence by the anafabula. The Foundation has collected all information about the anafabula in an index. But all information about the tropes of the anafabula creates the anafabula, so the index is missing. It is implied that the Foundation is next to be deleted because they are a fictional work and that due to Real Life being the metanarrative surrounding the fictional Foundation, we're due to be eaten next. Also, due to Characterization Marches On, it's sapient, knows about all of the attempts to contain it, and is seemingly capable of manipulating existing narratives to create access points for it, manipulating everyone from lowly humans to gods to do so. The more the Foundation and other narrative anomalies learn about it, the more SCP-2747 appears to not be a mindless force of nature, but an individual in its own right who wants all of narrative space dead and will stop at absolutely nothing to do so.
• SCP-2770, The Lure, focuses on two designated entities: SCP-2770-1 & SCP-2770-2. SCP-2770-1 is human male who appears to be a sole survivor on a raft trying to signal anyone for rescue, and SCP-2770-2 is a derelict submarine which will, after a passing ship or watercraft rescues SCP-2770-1, surface and proceed to open its conning tower before dragging itself, SCP-2770-1, and its rescuing watercraft down to the watery depths. In an incident report, SCP operatives attempted to avoid being dragged down by extracting SCP-2770-1 to a secure site in the middle of the desert via helicopter, to which it was successful. SCP-2770-1 was then interrogated about it's existence along with SCP-2770-2, but before he began to answer, he simply responded with this (before the submarine's tower crashed through the floor of the interrogation chamber and dragged the site beneath the desert sands).
  SCP-2770-1: I think you forgot the water table, you fucking idiot.
• SCP-2774, The Slow Burn Sloth, is a medium of any non-live media that features 2774-A, a humanoid in a sloth costume. Over the course of 100 hours, any who sees the image will start exhibiting sloth behaviors, to the point where they will only be able to have 150 seconds of cognitive thought every 24 hours. The victims pretty much state that for the remainder of the time they are aware of their entire situation, and during the time they are mentally tortured by the sloth-like entity who is implied to be taking control of their bodies. The situation is described as so unbearable that those afflicted beg for death. There is also no known cure for the symptoms once they set in. All the Foundation can do is give Class A-Amnestics to those they feel are infected on site, take care of those on site who have already shown symptoms, and terminate anyone off-site who is infected as well as cull the numbers on site who is infected, since SCP-2774 gets stronger with the more alive people that are infected. There is one bit of good news: SCP-2774 only affects 40 percent or less of those who view it, even among those who aren't colorblind, so most people are unaffected. The problem is, there's no way to know who will be affected...
• SCP-2798, This Dying World, is another Thaumiel class that is a wave that was created by the Foundation in 1971 and is supposed to contain SCP-001, implied to be an entity like Dr. Clef's proposal, by making it believe that the Earth is a single entity not separate from humans. This wave was created with the help of several inanimate object SCPs whose very nature breaks reality. However, the benefit of sealing quite possibly the most dangerous SCP is not without its consequences. This includes a mental disorder which the Foundation dubbed "Transcendent identity disorder" which is incurable. Another effect is that it is causing an "erosion in belief in organized action" which has had the effects of people being pessimistic in politics and to organize against radicalism. The addendums attached show that this only scratches the surface of the effects by detailing exactly the changes in personality such as a man digging a hole in a vacant lot with an unknown chemical and strange messages since 1978 of people wanting "to go to the center" and be one. If that is not dire enough the next addendum shows multiple contingencies for when SCP-2798 fails. All of them are rejected with the exception of just giving a worldwide distribution of cyanide pills and having a mass suicide. But maybe this is like many apocalyptic scenarios in the SCP-verse and it won't happen for years or even decades. Well... the final addendum shows perhaps the most terrifying thing in the whole article: a countdown for when SCP-2798 completely fails... a countdown that is going to end on November 2nd, 2016. Sweet dreams... Depending on your perspective, the whole situation is either horribly defused or made more horrifying once you read the Word of God statements (and rumors) saying that the timer in Real Life is heavily implied to be a release countdown for author Kalinin's 001 proposal. The idea of a creature so set on living souls is terrifying if the Foundation had to go to this length to stop it from ending the world. As of now, "SCP-2798 HAS CEASED FUNCTION. SCP-001 UNCONTAINED. WORLDWIDE EMERGENCY PROTOCOLS ARE NOW IN EFFECT."

SCPs 2800 to 2899

• SCP-2852 takes the concept of a long-lost relative or creepy uncle/cousin and somehow makes it even more disturbing.
  • The SCP is essentially a figure known only as "Cousin Johnny", who manifests at random family get-togethers such as Catholic masses, funerals, weddings, and child baptisms. Whenever "Cousin Johnny" appears at one of these get-togethers, the events of said get-togethers become morbid, disgusting, and violent and even possess dangerous consequences for the attendees later in life. Said events include allowing the bride and groom at weddings to smash each others' teeth in who then proceed to feed each other the teeth, having a baptized infant's skin molt off and then fed to its godparents, and participants at funerals slitting their wrists over the open coffin while "Cousin Johnny" vomits dead bugs into it. During Black Level gatherings (which normally happen during funerals), The Foundation has no way of stopping said events from transpiring, only watching it from beginning to end with no way of preventing "Cousin Johnny" from spawning. What makes the whole thing scary is that no one who willingly attends these gatherings finds any of the events out of place, and treat "Cousin Johnny" as a welcomed family member. On top of that, reading the effects of each event level reveals that this thing has most likely killed or maimed thousands of people. For reference, the Foundation theorizes that around a third of its Catholic and Anglican D-Class personnel were involved in a Black-Level Event in the past. "Cousin Johnny" and the events surrounding him/it are all ultimately related to cicadas somehow. Children baptized in Blue Level events "molt" and later exhibit violent behavior and PTSD-like symptoms when they hear cicada cries, the groom produces a cicada call instead of vows and the couple is later presented 13 dead cicadas by "Johnny" himself in White Level events, and Black Level events have "Cousin Johnny"'s eulogy devolve into cicada song eventually, along with the aforementioned vomiting of cicada corpses. Why this is so is unknown, but it certainly won't help people who dislike the bugs to begin with sleep any easier.
  • A proposed backstory for the origin of "Cousin Johnny," as seen in the Wrong Proposal's extended logs, sprinkles in some extra horror and a little bit of tragedy. "Johnny" was a normal man with an anomalous connection to a mysterious being called a "Cicada Lord." Like his current incarnation, he gave speeches, but they were to wartime families, were actually coherent, and are implied to have saved lives. Come the Reset Button, and Johnny offends the Lord, who punishes him by taking over his body and propagating the current SCP-2852 anomaly under Johnny's image.
  • Funerals are Fun shows off a Black-Level event from the perspective of a participant. The event proceeds like any other Black-Level event, complete with the main character's brainwashed and dry remarks about the bleeding into the coffin. Definitely nightmare fuel with the introduction of a perspective, but it gets worse. SCP-2030 shows up and completely trashes the event, much to even Johnny's dismay. The tale ends with the main character receiving another dose of brainwashing, this time by 2030-1's show, and suddenly finishes off with the line "Funerals are fun. We should have them more often."
• SCP-2863, がしゃどくろ, is a population of Japanese monsters called the Gashadokuro. They resemble 100 ft tall skeletons who only come out during the night to hunt humans, specifically by biting their heads off and draining their blood. They are invulnerable to all forms of physical harm, but will lose corporeal form when exposed to the slightest bright light, either natural or manmade light, and can be warded off by Shinto rituals. Fortunately, the increase of modern urbanization in Japan has prevented any deaths by SCP-2863 instances since 2008, though there have been sightings over the years. However, one part is particularly unnerving if you know modern Japanese history. The Foundation's records come from a similar organization, set up during the Second Sino-Japanese War by Imperial Japan. The IJA used the organization to try and recruit youkai into their forces, but all attempts to recruit the Gashadokuro were unsuccessful. The first appearance of 2863-204 was in Nanjing China, January 1938, when a certain war crime was drawing to a close. It was continually witnessed by Chinese living in Japanese-occupied territory until 1945. Eventually, giant skeletons began appearing all across the Pacific Theater. Postwar, the next two major sightings were in 1946, near Fukuoka City, and in March 2011, on the coast of Tohoku. The 1946 sighting was severely burned and emitting low levels of gamma radiation. The 2011 sighting was missing all its teeth ^note Radiation sickness causes your teeth to fall out and the back of the skull was severely damaged. Now read this:
  Instances of Gashadokuro are created by mass death, by the concentrated suffering of hundreds. While the Gashadokuro will eventually fade, they remain for centuries after their creation, lingering until their sorrow has diffused and faded. There is no way to hasten this process.
• SCP-2872, A Fast Horse, is a horse that runs in circles at speeds high enough to smash through anything in its path. Seems like standard SCP material, right? Until you read that sometime after 2010, it launched from its containment cell fast enough to cause injuries in the triple digits and achieve orbital escape velocity toward the constellation Equuleus. At the time of the entry's writing, it's slowing down. And it's turning around.
• SCP-2875. With a name like "The Town That Got Fucked By Bears," you might expect it to be at least a little comical. It's anything but. SCP-2875 is a phenomena that affects a town in Wisconsin, where 50-100 adult grizzly bears spontaneously appear at noon every three days. While not anomalous themselves, the bears present an obvious danger to the residents, as well as the local ecosystem. The only method that Mobile Task Force Lambda-2 has found to kill the bears is sedation followed by blunt force trauma to the head. Everything else results in two more bears appearing beside the corpse.
  MTF Lead Note: I know plenty of you think that this is some kind of joke, but a town of constantly appearing bears is serious. Can you imagine what would happen to the local ecosystem if we let this thing go? It was like a goddamn bear arena when we first rolled in, and that was only after a few days.
• SCP-2881, The Tree You Cannot Climb, is a tree that you can't climb. Anyone who tries to do so will believe they're climbing the tree, only to find that they're still at their starting position. Anyone who is mechanically placed higher will find themselves feeling increasingly heavy and uncomfortable, despite no apparent change to their weight or local gravity. Doesn't sound that bad until you manage to cross a height of 8 meters. One D-class was unfortunate enough to do so, at which point he began climbing the tree in a trance-like state and disappeared from view. His body reappeared two hours later, hitting the ground at terminal velocity, with lacerations around the face, forearms, and legs. Autopsy reports showed that he'd died of hanging by the neck several days earlier.

SCPs 2900 to 2999

• SCP-2932, Titania's Prison, is a giant dome made entirely of trees, vines, and other plant matter located in a nature reserve in Peru. It's lit from within by bioluminescent structures, powered by a giant vascular organ in the middle of the main chamber, and protected by mobile plant-based organisms. The main section mostly consists of large rooms and arched hallways, with rooms in lower sections containing what used to be administrative offices. The only individual still living inside is SCP-2932-A, an elderly semi-humanoid insect creature. Deep beneath the surface, there's a massive chamber filled with a system of catwalks and plant pods, each with a small organic touchscreen that can open or close them. Some of these pods have been ruptured from the inside. Have you guessed what this place is? It's a prison built for SCP-1000 (yes, the Bigfoots) by SCP-2932-A's race to house a variety of dangerous creatures and entities. During the human uprising, they evacuated and left a skeleton crew to maintain the prison. SCP-2932-A was their warden and is now the only survivor. As the years passed, and the structure fell into disrepair, some of the entities escaped. The entry also includes translated records of the prisoners, some of whom were humans that hunted the Bigfoots even before they acquired their technology, but also include some kind of disgusting Puppeteer Parasite, a hungry beast that came "from the heavens", someone strongly implied to be Adam (yes, that Adam), and something that the Bigfoots refused to describe (likely some kind of memetic hazard). The final entry cements the idea that humans and Bigfoots truly are not so different, and it's labeled as "Fae".
  SCP-2932-A: "Do you believe that the Children of the Sun were the first to overthrow those who came before them?"
• SCP-2935, O, Death.
  • It's a cave in the midwestern USA. Passing through it leads to a parallel universe where everything is dead — and we do mean absolutely everyone and everything. Even invulnerable things like SCP-173 and SCP-682. The creatures that the Foundation studies and contains, the universes they've found, even the entities so powerful the Foundation can't contain or stop them, like the Shining Star? All dead. The corpses don't even decay, as the bacteria that causes them to rot are all dead as well. All evidence indicates that all life in that universe died at the exact same moment, at 3:13 on 2016 April 20. When a mobile task force explored the ruins of 2935!Foundation sites, they eventually learned that the instant anyone gets out of the cave, the home universe will become just like the parallel universe. How did they learn this? They found an audio-log by an agent of that same MTF from 2935!Universe who explored its own SCP-2935 and made that mistake, causing everything to simultaneously die when he returned. Whatever it is, it's possibly the most powerful SCP ever created. And the author themselves have confirmed that 2935 really does kill everything, no matter what it is.
  "Maybe I was the reason. Maybe I... am Death. If it was in there and I brought it back, then I am Death."
  "You know, it occurs to me... if you're listening to this... you're Death, too."
  • 2935 is so terrifying that 682, the unkillable lizard, Series Mascot, and all-round murderous terrestrial life-hating asshole, screams desperately in fear at the footage of its lifeless alternate self in the dead universe on the other side of the cave and begs to be saved from the thing that dwells there that 682 knows will come back with the exploratory team to kill all life in the home universe along with 682 itself. After learning that the research team in the dead universe sealed up the cave and elected never to return, saving the home universe, 682 expresses genuine gratitude towards them — something that it has never felt before towards humanity.
    Upon being informed of the actions of MTF "Manifest Destiny" sealing themselves within the reality, it made the following statement: "They have my most sincere gratitude."
• SCP-2996, ERROR / ERROR, seemingly tells a dark but ultimately heartwarming story. It's a ghost of an eight years old girl named Emily, who claims to have been murdered by a man named James Franklin and is now seeking revenge. However, through work with a therapist the girl is able to come to terms with the fact she wasn't murdered at all but committed suicide and let go of her anger. Moreover, the neutralizer Foundation has used to keep her contained made her corporeal again and she became a normal human girl. In the end she was released and adopted by a loving family. Yay, a rare happy ending...if it wasn't for the fact that there's a big warning on top of the file, suggesting the file has been subjected to unauthorized edits and likely corrupted, with pictures of the SCP being inaccessible. The addendum at the end of the article reveals multiple points in written text and even memories of the personnel do not match up with the rest of foundation database and there is no proof a girl under Emily's new name even exists. Even the older version of the file has been corrupted, being inaccessible to the Foundation...but not to the readers. Digging through the article history leads to finding the old version, which reveals three deleted entries in the file. The first one is a physical examination of now-corporeal Emily, performed by "Dr. Franklin", all in black text except for the lists of tests performed - visual examination, bloodwork, internal examination and vivisection. Next is another interview with the therapist, which starts by her telling Emily that was not the doctor scheduled to perform the examination. Emily responds by accusing her of gaslighting her to believe her murderer wasn't real only to leave her alone with him again. The final missing entry is information of a manhunt for an individual who has infiltrated the Foundation site, killed seven people, impersonated a doctor, and performed vivisection on an alive and conscious Emily. Emily's killer appears to have found out she's alive again, infiltrated the containment site, killed everyone in his way just to get to kill her all over again, then seemingly stole her containment cell with her inside and covered his tracks so well the Foundation has no idea about it.
• SCP-2998, Anomalous Transmission, 2485 M Hz. Like SCP-2317, the article is broken up into multiple revised versions. SCP-2998 is a radio signal whose source is unknown, but has been picked up from all over the Solar System. It was thought to just be strange but harmless white noise until technology to decode it was developed in 2011. The signal contains a video transmission of a humanoid alien floating in a dark room, making sounds and gestures like it's in physical distress. No context is provided. Later iterations reveal humans born with a rare nerve cluster in their Temporal lobe can decode the signal, with some side effects, and have discovered what the video is: a criminal named Ruhar being punished by an all-powerful ruler named Adidal for killing a member of the latter's family, doomed to be kept alive and suffer on public broadcast until the universe grows dark. Another iteration reveals that on 11/09/14, all Rosetta Cluster D-class personnel exposed to SCP-2998 experienced seizures, while the alien in the video fell unconscious and the transmission ended. After months of inactivity, SCP-2998 was considered neutralized. Problem solved, right? Nope! In December 2016, an alien fleet approaches the Earth and begins transmitting a new form of SCP-2998 on all radio, TV, and satellite signals. Anyone who hears it falls under Adidal's control. The Foundation responds to this with Operation Blackout, destroying all global communications infrastructures and killing everyone affected. When interviewing a captured subject affected by the signal, they claim that Ruhar has disappeared and now they're looking for him, and reveal that the "aliens" are in fact living ideas. A later iteration implies that Ruhar may have taken control of a high-ranking member of the Foundation, and the remnants of the Foundation After the End are eventually forced to combine SCP-579 with SCP-055 to reset the universe.
• SCP-2999, The Black Cat and the White Rabbit, while the article itself isn't overtly scary, just a little unsettling (and MORE than a little heartbreaking), the page image makes for a great scare. The first-page image is the desktop that SCP-2999-A uses. It prominently features some kind of disturbing rabbit girl staring into your soul with a toothy, bloodied smile. Clicking to enlarge the image doesn't do much, except that it reveals the image to be animated, showing the desktop very quickly change to a horrifying image of a skeletal, rabbit-like hole-covered, metallic-limbed entity standing in a darkened room soaked in blood, before reverting back to the original desktop image. You can see the cropped image here. It's still unsettling, but it may or may not be less creepy than the original image.
