The most outstanding psychiatrist and hypnotherapist in DisCity and works as a psychological consultant for the intelligence agencies in secret.
  • Beauty Is Bad: She is a beautiful, head-turning, and voluptous psychologist... but she isn't good.
  • Blind Without 'Em: It's said the glasses she wears are part of her hypnotism skills. That said, in her CB art, when she was young she wore glasses so she either did need to wear glasses or not.
  • Darkand Troubled Past: She did grow up in a decent, well-known family of psychologists, but what went down in her childhood was Oris killing her parents, and her witnessing the killing inside a grandfather clock, and going into coma which also led her to wake up as a Sinner before even hitting puberty. It's no wonder why she becomes a psychopath and hates Oris so much that she desires to ruin him and make his life a living hell since he ruined her childhood, killed her parents, and destroyed her home.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Chameleon is usually one of the most (superficially) nice Sinners in the game, putting on a kind attitude both to the Chief and the other inmates. Don't be fooled however, as this is just a part of her façade as a Manipulative Bastard and in reality she's one of the very few outright vile Sinners in the game. However, reaching to her 100% compliance shows her slowly trying to recover her psychopathy with the Chief, since they are one of the only people who can resist her hypnotism.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Heavily implied that she loved her parents considering one of the moments she mentions them is when she drops her fake expression and watched them see how they consulted their patients as a child. This makes it more of a strong reason she wants to have revenge against Oris since she saw their treatment for him was perfect and says how Oris should have just forgotten the negativity but decided to kill her parents and set their house on fire to destroy evidence all because he was scared his affair would spread out and he didn't want to lose his fiancee's family's power.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Turns the Chief's insecurities against them and uses them to acquire information from the 9th Agency for her own purpose.
  • Psycho Psychologist: She is a psychiatrist and diagnoses herself as a psychopath who thrives on the pain of others. However, her abilities as a psychiatrist are excellent, she graduated from Banyan Medical School, the same school Iron, Uni, and Anne graduated from, became a professor of psychology for said school, had a private practice, and was hired by the 9th Agency all by the time she was 21 (She's 26 in the story now), though this information could be taken with a salt of grain. It's just how she uses her abilities sometimes is for her own purposes aside helping with psychological issues.
    • Her reputation is heard from the Sinners in the MBCC but most don't ask a consult from her, likely knowing her true personality or just being scared of her.
  • Sadist: Outright admits to being one. She greatly enjoys inflicting pain upon others. She pretty much shows this when she finds Oris and making him lose his wife, power, and status not before making him go into a forever nightmare of hell. When she sees Chief shoot themselves to stop the hypnosis, this shocks her but this allows her to see Chief to be a funner toy to "play" with.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: Is generally soft and cordial in all her interactions, and outright and unapologetically admits to gain pleasures from hurting others.
  • Support Party Member: In gameplay, her main utility is to slowly increase the damage output of her fellow Sinners through buffs.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Lacks the combat experience and overwhelming physical capabilities present in most other Sinners (of course, as a Sinner herself, that still makes her stronger than a baseline human) but makes it up through her insanely powerful hypnosis capabilities that nary require her to exert herself.

  • A Day in the Limelight: Ignis is one of two Sinners who is trapped in Lady Pearl's Theater along with Chief and Luvia Ray in the Quixotic Troupe event.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: The way her powers work in game is pretty different to how her profile and interrogations say they work. In story she can set objects on fire in a localised area around her and can cause temperature spikes. In game she chucks fireballs like a wizard.
  • Elemental Hair Colors: Has flame powers and bright scarlet hair. Notably is not also a Fiery Redhead. Though she tries to act mean and unfriendly to people, this is a defense mechanism she puts up to avoid getting close to anyone for fear of accidentally harming them with her powers, and she's actually rather bad at the act. Her actual personality is far more subdued and introverted.
  • Power Incontinence: Combined with Psychoactive Powers. Her power is the ability to start fires in a 10 meter radius around her, which she can't properly control. Any time she becomes emotionally unstable, upset, or angry, things around her have a tendency to spontaneously combust.

  • Horrible Judge of Character: Is kind to and helps bandits, which placed him under suspicion of the MBCC for being an accomplice. Kawa-Kawa finally moves past this once he gets backstabbed by their leader after helping them.
  • Kid Hero: Is still a teen, but is one of WhiteSand's most experienced navigators.
  • Nice Guy: Unlike most other Sinners, he remains kind and helpful throughout his appearances, even in his own interrogation.
  • Wide-Eyed Idealist: Genuinely believes that helping others will always be the right thing to do and is totally blindsided when his help is repaid with a backstab.

Birthday: June 8

Known as Ocean Messenger of the Taumas Society.

  • Abusive Parents: It is specifically distant relatives who adopted Lamia after her birth mother died early after giving birth.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Lamia acts as a nice but scared girl during the interrogation but it turns out that she is this.
  • The Chessmaster: This is how Lamia operates. She pretends to be below the President of Thaumas Society, but she is actually the mastermind who is moving the pieces. She admits to the Chief that if they didn't discover her scheme, the MBCC was going to be the next Thaumas Society with the Chief as the next President.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Lamia was trying to be seen by the Chief as a sympathetic girl with a tragic backstory during the interrogation. While the Chief noticed early on that she had an odd shift in her expression for a supposed scared girl, they didn't have explicit proof. So Laima's plan was going well until her aunt who adopted her appeared before them after noticing online photos posted by curious passersby near the hospital. Lamia could have still concealed her true colors if she acted calm, but she can't help to be evil in front of her abusive aunt who is trying to blackmail her for money rather than getting justice for her gone insane son.
  • Die or Fly: When the cousin of distant relatives who adopted her was drowning her as an abuse,
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Due to Lamia's Then Let Me Be Evil attitude, she can't understand how the Chief says that a selfish, cruel, and cold-blooded monster like her is not a monster or a freak because they are the same humans in the end. Of course, it is somewhat subverted because she does acknowledge that light does exist, but only as an illusion that disappears because people inevitably succumb to their own darkness. This is because mankind's virtues such as courage, perseverance, kindness, and love stem from naivete about the world, and they are ultimately no match against the cruel realities of life and their own weakness. By the end of the interrogation, however, Lamia learns that not all humans succumb to their darkness, but instead fight to keep the light alive.
  • Lotus-Eater Machine: What Lamia provides as the Ocean Messenger of the Taumas Society is this. It should, however, be noted that while members of the Taumas Society are living a good life in the illusion, this isn't the case in reality. For example, the Chief and Lamia visit a family who are members of the Taumas Society during Lamia's third interrogation. The family was suffering because their daughter was terminally ill. So Lamia created an illusion of a healthy loving family life. Of course, the Chief says that such an illusion is not good because it doesn't solve fundamental problems in reality. As a response, Lamia reveals the truth to the father and mother about their actual reality and asks if they want to go back to illusion. Lamia barely finished her sentences before they immediately replied that they wanted to go back to illusion. It seems like Lamia's views of humanity seemed correct...until the Chief insisted that they ask if their daughter feels the same. It turns out that the girl wants to return to reality because her parents are trying to cure her for real. Even when Lamia says that there is no cure, the girl replies that even if it is true that her life is over for good, that isn't the case for her parents. So the girl will be happy to know that her parents were able to move on. It is at this moment that Lamia gets Evil Cannot Comprehend Good.
  • Manipulative Bastard: While acting like a kind, supportive girl, she actually manipulates others for her own gain. She is so good at manipulation that even her president doesn't realize her true nature until she murders him in order to take control of society. She also quickly realized early on during the interrogation that MBCC's investigation would uncover details about her past sooner or later. That is why she instead took a preemptive strike to show her vulnerable and tragic past to win the Chief's trust and sympathy.
  • Uncanny Valley: While Lamia looks beautiful as if she is a mythical mermaid, her skin color has been gray since birth. Her uncanny beauty has been both a curse and a blessing.
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Averted. When the Chief and Lamia go out to Eastside Psychiatric Hospital during the second interrogation, passersby point and snap photos at Lamia not only for her gray skin, but also for her fame as the Ocean Messenger of the Taumas Society.
  • Then Let Me Be Evil: The primary reason behind Lamia's villainy. Due to how she can't get other people's acceptance or approval no matter what she does, she decides to be strong enough to beat them if she can't join them.

  • Brutal Honesty: She speaks her mind, but she can be a real jerk about it.
  • A Day in the Limelight: She is prominent during the Night of Wonders event as one of three search teams to find the missing Chief in the museum.
  • Forgotten First Meeting: It turns out that there is a reason why a Sinner McQueen was so interactive with Lisa during Night of Wonders, despite Lisa disliking very much the presence of McQueen around her and insults her every moment she gets. This is because before Jennie became McQueen, Lisa not only appreciated her work, but also believes that Eastside's art critics should stop looking for names and renown when it comes to artistry, and appreciates the beauty and passion artists put into their work.
  • Jerkass: While not nearly as evil as some other Sinners, Lisa can be one of the most unpleasant people to be around sometimes.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: She spares no words when criticizing the artistic tastes of Eastside, saying that they are even shallower than you (i.e, the Chief). Harsh, but if one plays through McQueen's Interrogation, it turns out her statement that it's "delusional to think that a few millions DisCoins can define the value of a work" is absolutely right.
  • Pet the Dog: If you level her up, she gives out a sincere thanks to the Chief, no strings attached. She even lampshades how unusual this is coming from her in the same voiceline.
  • What You Are in the Dark: Despite her critical attitude, however, Lisa does give praise when warranted as shown in McQueen's flashback.

The One-and-Only Designated Queen of the Club who assists people in their strange indulgences and abuses powers in attracting elites to participate in illegal gatherings for money.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Macchiato is part of the Chief's investigation at the Insatiable Fiesta Event due to her fixture in Eastside high society.
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl: It is hard to believe that Macchiato is Reluctant Fanservice Girl considering her behavior and Sinner power, but not only she was unable to leave the fetish club due to the nature of her power, but also how her boss essentially coerced her with promise of concealing her identity as a Sinner and possible promotion with a raise.
  • Whip of Dominance: As a Reluctant Fanservice Girl, Macchiato does not enjoy the act of whipping others. That is why she hides the whip somewhere less obvious when out of combat. She once tried changing weapons but gave up as no other weapon came close to the efficiency of the whip in using her special powers.

Sinner Ability: Forging of Malice
Tendency: Fury
Skills: Forge/Vicious Sword, Vicious Smith, Compatibility Weapon, Malice Contagion
Affiliation:
Birthplace: Syndicate
Birthday: February 20
Height: 160cm
Voiced by: Christina Costello (EN), Kiyo (CN), Reina Kondo (JP), Kang Sae Bom (KR)

  • The Blacksmith: A classical fantasy type who forges cold weapons (which means non-firearms, like swords and maces and the like), making her stand out a bit in a world where guns are just as common. She also can make mechanically complex devices such as a gas bomb as seen in her Interrogation.
  • The Corruptor: Her power revolves around literally weaponising malice, and to extract it she often incites the people she makes weapons for to acts of violence in exchange for discounts. Her interrogation even has her attempt to corrupt the Chief by forcing them to use the shackles on her and harvesting what she believes would be an extraordinary amount of malice. It doesn't really work out that way. Fittingly, in stark contrast to her normal artwork, her interrogation artworks make her look unspeakably evil at times, though it turns out she's really just an extremely damaged girl on a vague Rage Against the Heavens quest.
  • Gamer Chick: She likes retro video games, the kind EMP also plays. Her Ambrosia-induced dream in Dreamy Bubble is modeled after one such game where the game's hero takes up a legendary sword forged by Mess (roleplaying as a blacksmith) to kill a dragon, complete with pixelated NPCs and 8-bit music.
  • Insubstantial Ingredients: Her Sinner power allows her to extract the desire of malice from people, which she then forges into the physical form of weapons. This stems from a desire to combat her unseen archenemy's own malice.
  • Rage Against the Heavens: Implied. Though the 'thing' she's fighting is not outright stated to be 'God', her in game profile says that her goal in extracting and forging malice is to forge a 'deity slaying weapon' in order to "cut away my nightmares." Also, her level 3 Interrogation has her literally attack the sky with her strongest weapon in a blind rage until she collapses from exhaustion. Whether she believes the nameless 'thing' to literally be God, or just some vague malicious entity responsible for everything wrong with the world is not made explicit, and is implied to be just a coping mechanism for her past trauma regardless.
  • Start X to Stop X: Her entire plan to fight the "thing" that spreads malice is to beat it at its own game, her Interrogations revealing that she sells her weapons to encourage more malice in people she can then extract from. This is also her motivation for spreading Ambrosia in the Dreamy Bubble event, since the drug secretes negativity, malice included, on a wider scale.
  • Vagueness Is Coming: She never quite makes it clear about whatever this "thing" spreading malice she fights is, especially with her claiming only she can see it. When she points it out to the Chief in her Phase 3 Interrogation, it's to the night sky, and nothing else the latter could see. It's heavily implied that it's a coping mechanism from being betrayed by her family and friends, blaming their malicious actions on a non-existent mastermind.

  • Beware the Silly Ones: A distractable and rather silly otaku, and also an S-ranked Sinner for a very good reason. She used to be affiliated with Parma and retains her ruthless mad scientist edge even now.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Is extremely skilled at inventing things, to the point a whole team of scientists couldn't reverse engineer one of her inventions.

  • Teen Genius: Mastered all doctoral courses at 14 and accepted into the Ring Research Institute as a junior high school student.

Sinner Ability: Eclipse Advent

Affiliation:
Birthplace: Uncertain
Birthday: February 11
Height: 171cm
Voiced by: Liu Ruomei (CN), Ruriko Noguchi (JP), Lee Seul (KR), Liz Morey (EN)

  • Affectionate Nickname: Stargazer refers the Chief as her "little monster". This makes sense when she considers the Chief to be a monster like herself. This commonality actually makes her feel like they are companions as fellow monsters.
  • Fortune Teller: Everything about Stargazer is what you expect a fortune teller to have. She has her crystal ball, tarot cards, and her exotic looks. Despite how her power as a fortune teller is genuine, however, almost no one besides the Chief wants their fortune to be read by her. This is because not only ordinary humans should not be able to foresee the future, but also how her prophecies are never good news no matter how accurate they are.
  • I Am a Monster: Stargazer is considered a monster by everyone else due to her power to dispel sandworms, travel through sandstorms, come back alive from Tide of Ashes, and foresee the future. When the Chief tries to deny this by saying they don't think she is a monster, she rebuttals by saying maybe they think this way because they are a monster as well.
  • Literal Change of Heart: Out of three ash crystals from the Dreamflower, one ash crystal became the heart of a maiden who fled from humanity in search of a home, which turns out to be the Stargazer. Stargazer is grateful to the Dreamflower not only because it gave the ash crystal that serve as her heart, but because it also became her only companion. This is why Stargazer is so willing to do everything to get back all three ash crystals including the one that serves as her heart. The only problem is that if the ash crystal that serves as her heart gets taken out, the Stargazer will naturally die. While Stargazer may be fine with that, the Chief isn't. That is why the Chief is able to solve this by replacing Stargazer's heart with their own shackles. The length that the Chief is willing to save her despite how she betrayed them began to make her consider the Chief as her only companion beside the Dreamflower.
  • Mad Oracle: There is a reason why Stargazer belongs belong to the Heresy Libram. She is quite fanatically obsessed with finding the Realm of Truth and leaving behind the current world which is nothing but a lie.
  • Mysterious Waif: Stargazer is certainly this as the Chief is often mesmerized by her mysterious looks and powers.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: "The Stargazer" is an alias. Her true name is revealed in her interrogation. It’s Anarkia.
  • Screw Destiny: Averted. As a fortune teller, Stargazer completely believes in her destiny that her prophecy foretold. It is rather the Chief who tries to go against destiny. This theme is central during Stargazer's interrogation as she foretells that the Chief will die unless they join her to find the Realm of Truth while the Chief manages to overturn their doomed destiny by the end of the interrogation.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Stargazer betrays the Chief once she got two ash crystals from them. While the Chief sees this as a betrayal, Stargazer says that this is more of revenge towards foolish humans for their crimes against the WhiteSands and the Dreamflower.
