Quirk: Quirkless

Izuku's Pen-Pal from America. A Quirkless boy who strives to prove you don't need powers to be a Hero.


  • Arch-Enemy: Puppetress. The two loathe each other; Puppetress for Bobby exposing and preventing her and Nemo's attack on Kirby during the gang war and Bobby for Puppetress' actions leading to the gang war that killed his sister Rachel.
  • Badass Normal: He has absolutely no Quirk. All he does comes from skill, grit, gadgets, training, and determination.
  • Batter Up!: He uses a baseball bat with a collapsible shield built inside it to fight.
  • Childhood Friend: With Momo Yaoyorozu. After reuniting, the two are happy to make up for lost time by teasing each other.
  • Covered in Scars: On top of his hand, Bobby's form is covered in scars from knives, bullets, and he has a foot and hand imprint burned onto his skin.
  • Expy: He's a composite of Jaune Arc and Oscar Pine.
  • Foil: To his pen-pal, Izuku. Bobby is what Izuku could've become by persevering and training like hell.
  • Heroic Lineage: His parents, John Doe and Maid Marion are in the Top 10 American Pro Heroes and his older sisters are a beloved Idol Hero team.
  • Homeless Hero: Lived as a vagrant for at least three years before being taken in by Michelle and enrolling at UA.
  • Official Couple: With Riley. He won't even look at other girls beyond friendship or sisterhood.
  • Pen Pals: He and Izuku were this when they were younger, with Izuku's letters helping Bobby overcome his Quirkless angst.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Noodles of any kind.
  • Twofer Token Minority: He's half-black, half-Native American.

Quirk: Hot Air

Bobby's best friend and confidant. His Quirk, Hot Air, allows him to ignite the air he breathes to create fire, burning steam, or even explosive blasts.


  • Berserk Button: Anybody disrespecting his friends. Katsuki ends up pushing this button with his Quirkist and arrogant attitude.
  • Best Friend: To Bobby.
  • Breath Weapon: He can increase the temperature of whatever he blows on, which means he can coat things he blows on in fire or ignite the air he breathes to create fire.
  • Childhood Friend: With Natalie. They grew up in the same neighborhood together
  • Exotic Eye Designs: His pupils are shaped like X's.
  • Expy: Of Lie Ren.
  • Secret Relationship: He's been dating Nancy in secret for some time... at least until Riley accidentally blabs.

Another of Bobby's best friends. Her Quirk, Shock Jockey, allows her to absorb and shape electricity.


     Riley Airheart — Cloudjumper

Quirk: Sky Dance

Bobby's girlfriend. Her Quirk, Sky Dance, allows her to climb and walk on air as well as manipulate wind and create clouds.


  • A-Cup Angst: Considering her sister and boyfriend's childhood friend are very well endowed, she gets like this on occasion.
  • Child Prodigy: Downplayed. She's a year or two younger than her sister Brittany but is in her class.
  • Daddy's Girl: She is very close to her father, who is openly affectionate with her.
  • Endearingly Dorky: She gushes over Momo and Ochako's bonds with Bobby and Izuku and acts like a cute child when pouty.
  • Expy: Of Ruby Rose.
  • Friend to All Children: She gets along great with Eri and Cyan, the latter of whom likes her enough to let her hold her.
  • Happily Adopted: By Perry Grin/Jet Falcon.
  • Insecure Love Interest: She is visibly annoyed and worried when she sees Momo and Bobby's reunion, remarking how pretty and smart Momo is.
  • Official Couple: With Bobby, and lucky for her, she's the only one for him in his eyes.

Riley's older sister. Her Quirk, Sunshine, allows her to channel power from the sun to increase her strength to astronomical levels.

Brittany's girlfriend. Her Quirk, Gota Oscura, allows her to create and manipulate shadows.


     Terrance Steel — Major Magnet

Quirk: Electromagnet

Bobby's rival. His Quirk, Electromagnet, allows him to manipulate magnetic fields to control anything metallic in nature.


  • Abusive Parents: His father, a high-ranking army general, apparently beat him and he does not speak fondly of him when reminiscing.
  • At Least I Admit It: He knows he's not the nicest guy around and will freely admit as such.
  • Expy: Of Cardin Winchester, only with much more Character Development. His Quirk is also one to Eustass Kidd's Magnet-Magnet Fruit.
  • Foil: To Katsuki, which he even points out to the explosive blonde himself.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While an unrepentant prick, Terrance admits to wanting to become a hero so that he's not tied down to orders like soldiers, so he can help more people quicker. He also has a soft spot for children, forgiving a little girl who spilled her ice cream on his pants and giving her more than enough cash to buy a new one.
  • Lantern Jaw of Justice: He has a very pronounced cleft chin.
  • Military Brat: He grew up as one, no thanks to his abusive father. He had this knocked out of him when he went to Kirby.
  • The Rival: To Bobby. The two originally hated each other but eventually gained mutual respect.

     Donna Carolina — Thread Princess

Quirk: Spooling

A lovesick girl with a massive crush on her classmate Dennis. Her Quirk, Spooling, allows her to create and manipulate ribbons of all shapes and sizes.


  • All Women Are Lustful: She is downright thirsty for Dennis, even outright offering him to peep on her in the baths.
  • Girly Girl: She's the most outright girly of her female peers in Kirby.
  • Implausible Hair Color: Her hair is all the colors of the rainbow.
  • Official Couple: With Dennis, who actually reciprocates her feelings for him but tries to be a gentleman to her.

     Dennis Denim — Mr. Coat

Quirk: Silk Shift

A handsome and gentlemanly young man. His Quirk, Silk Shift, allows him to transform his clothes into any material he touches and can even recall the materials he had previously touched in case he needs to transform on the fly.


  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: He's not as forward or constant as Donna is in showing affection, but he races to save her from being captured by Sero, checks that she's okay, and promises to dote on her when they're alone.
  • Bishōnen: He's very handsome and takes good care of his appearance. It's one of the many reasons Donna fawns over him.
  • Foil: To Yuuga. Both are the most stylish of their respective classes but unlike Yuuga, who is flamboyant and cheesy, Dennis is level-headed and straight to the point.

     Jenner Goodall — Menagerie

Quirk: Animorph

A nature-loving young man. His Quirk, Animorph, allows him to transform parts or all of his body into any animal in existence as well as simply channel their unique abilities.


  • Animorphism: His Quirk in a nutshell.
  • Blessed with Suck: While his Quirk is impressive and allows him to change into any animal, his stamina remains the same, and none of the defenses of the animal he's turned into apply to him.
  • Great White Hunter: His Hero Costume invokes this trope.

     Henry France — Carjack

A lethargic young man with a rather speedy body. His Quirk, Garage Mod, allows him to cybernetically shapeshift parts of his body into vehicle-themed weaponry and gadgets.


     Odessa Ahab — Sea Siren

A flirtatious and charming girl. Her Quirk, Siren, gives her various powers based on the mythological creature it's named after.


     Nancy Flemming — Chillarina

A composed and studious girl as well as Riley's best friend. Her Quirk, Chiller, gives her various Cryokinetic capabilities.


     Kianna Sinclair — Ivy Green

Quirk: Mother Nature

A girl with a love of plants and nature. Her Quirk, Mother Nature, gives her various powers related to plant life.


  • Expy: Her powers have been favorably compared to Swamp Thing and Poison Ivy.
  • Hero Worship: Kamui Woods is her favorite Pro Hero in Japan and she fangirls when she gets the chance to meet him.
  • The Medic: She can create any kind of plant with medical properties to help others.

     Stars & Stripes 

Cathleen Bate — Stars & Stripes

Quirk: New Order

The current #1 Hero of America and one of All-Might's old acquaintances. She has recently taken up a job as a teacher at Kirby in the same vein as her former master's at UA.


  • Master-Apprentice Chain: Played With; she was mentored by All-Might and is looking forward to seeing where Izuku goes. She was also mentored by Bobby's father and is now training Bobby himself.
  • Reconstruction: She's stated to be the closest to an old-style comic book superheroine; devoted to her country, seemingly unbeatable, and with a heart of gold.
  • World's Strongest Woman: She is the current #1 Pro Hero of America, which makes her this by default.

     Equinox 

Ben — Equinox

Quirk: Unknown Elemental Manipulation Quirk

The new #2 Hero of America after the retirement of Bobby's father, John Doe, and Kirby High's recent teaching hire.


  • Affectionate Nickname: His students call him 'Mr. E' and his girlfriend, Megumi calls him 'Benji'.
  • Combo Platter Powers: Whatever his Quirk is supposed to be, it allows him to manipulate various elements and even read minds and heal others.
  • Foil: To both Mirio and Hawks. Like Mirio, he was the top student in his class after mastering a powerful and complicated Quirk but is not one held back by procedure and will always do the right thing. Like Hawks, he shot through the hero rankings and is already the #2 Hero despite barely being into his 20s.
  • Official Couple: With Maiden Machine, his high school sweetheart and partner at leading their agency.
  • One of the Kids: He gets along great with his students, mostly due to being close in age to them.
  • Pop-Cultured Badass: He makes many comic book references.

     Commander Comet

Quirk: Unknown Stellar Manipulation Quirk

The #3 Hero of America and Bobby's primary caretaker and mentor as well as Kirby High's homeroom teacher.


     Jet Falcon 

Perry Grin — Jet Falcon

Quirk: Unknown Falcon Mutation Quirk

The #9 Pro Hero of America, the adoptive father of Riley and Brittany, and one of Kirby's primary teachers.


  • Doting Parent: He adores his adoptive daughters with all his heart, which often embarrasses them but they love him all the same.
  • Papa Wolf: He immediately leaps into action whenever his daughters and their friends are in danger.

     Maiden Machine 

Megumi Deedee — Maiden Machine

Quirk: Quirkless

The current #6 Pro Hero of America and Equinox's love interest.


  • Battle Couple: With her boyfriend, Equinox.
  • Expy: Of Penny Polendina
  • Robot Girl: She is an android with all the thoughts and emotions of a regular human as well as a built-in arsenal of gadgets and weapons to help with Hero Work.

Pro Heroes

     John Doe 

John Walker — John Doe

Quirk: Grey Gaze

The former #2 Pro Hero of America and Bobby's estranged father.


  • Career-Ending Injury: He lost his sight in an explosion at a Remembrance Day Parade and was forced into retirement because of it.
  • Foil: To Endeavor; both were #2 in their respective country and have turbulent family lives. However, John is happily married and has, as of the last chapter, much better relationships with his children.
  • Happily Married: To his wife, Maid Marion.
  • Living Lie Detector: His Quirk, Grey Gaze, allows him to see through lies and view the thoughts of those he fights against.
  • Parents as People: He truly loved his son but when he was diagnosed Quirkless, he did his best to train him before figuring he'd be safer at a school catered to supporting Quirkless students...not realizing it was a front for All For One's Nomu experiments.

     Maid Marion

Quirk: Pain Power Point

Bobby's mother and one of America's most beloved Pro Heroes.


  • Emotion Bomb: She can share the emotions of all in her area with her target, allowing her to either support or debilitate depending on the emotions.
  • Happily Married: To her husband, John Doe.
  • Parents as People: She loved Bobby more than anything but feared for his safety due to him being Quirkless and because his sisters were too rough with him. She and her husband figured he'd be safer at a Quirkless Support School...before realizing too late that they almost sent him to a Nomu Factory before Rachel got him out of there.

The Guild

     Puppetress 

Ena Anwir — Puppetress

Quirk: Unknown Puppeteer Quirk

The granddaughter of Colonel Cash and arch-nemesis of Bobby. Her Quirk allows her to create puppet strings from her fingers that she can use as weapons or to control other people.


  • Arch-Enemy: She's this to Bobby, both of them having a deep-seated hatred for each other.
  • Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: She loves her mother in spite of being a villain. She also loves her stepfather and stepsister much more than her birth father, Gallant.
  • Eye Scream: One of her eyes is missing, replaced with scarred tissue. This is due to an old battle she had with Bobby months ago.
  • Freudian Excuse: The reason why Puppeteer has it out for Hero society was because of the abuse she received from her father Gallant, who, under his public persona as a noble superhero, was a hypocritical, sexist, and racist bastard who abused his daughter and wife. As such, when her grandfather gave Puppeteer permission to cut loose on Gallant after his dirty laundry was aired out for the world to see, she accepted the proposition with glee.
  • People Puppets: She can take control of people's bodies by attaching strings to them. This allows her to throw them around like ragdolls or even control their every action.
  • Unholy Matrimony: She ends up developing a crush on Tomura Shigaraki, the two of them hitting it off the second they lay eyes on each other.

     The Spot 

Nemo Muirhand — The Spot

Quirk: Unknown Spot Hole Quirk

Puppetress' best friend and former right-hand man. He was believed dead when Bobby thwarted Puppetress' plan to destroy Kirby High but was actually infused with a batch of experimental dark matter he created, which transformed him and gave him a Quirk that also teleported him to Japan.


  • Adaptational Wimp: Downplayed. While his powers are still very versatile, Word of God states he won't be a Multiversal-Level Threat.
  • Evil Genius: Despite originally being Quirkless, he had a brilliant mind. This allowed him to invent a special batch of dark matter that could give or destroy Quirks. He ended up becoming the unwitting guinea pig of his own experiment when Bobby destroyed the plane he was piloting.
  • Expy: He's literally The Spot but with a different identity.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: He was a normal Quirkless student at Kirby High who felt stifled by the curriculum and wanted to destroy it. However, an accident with a batch of dark matter he created caused him to gain a versatile Quirk which he is slowly mastering.
  • Moral Myopia: He blames Bobby for what happened to him while ignoring the fact he and Puppetress were basically going to repeat 9/11 with Kirby High.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: With Puppetress. The two are overjoyed to be reunited with each other and one of the reasons Puppetress hates Bobby is because she believed he had killed Nemo.

     Feedback 

Nick Tesla — Feedback

Quirk: Reverb

The villainous older brother of Natalie and one of Puppetress' closest allies. His Quirk, Reverb, allows him to absorb any kind of sound and return it as deadly attacks.


     Mudslide 

Amos Flick — Mudslide

Quirk: Mud Mold

One of Puppetress' trusted allies. His Quirk, Mud Mold, allows him to turn into and manipulate mud.


     Void 

Nullius Slade — Void

Quirk: Null & Void

One of Puppetress' allies. A sadistic and arrogant man whose Quirk, Null & Void, allows him to produce a substance in either liquid or gaseous form that weakens others and disables their Quirks.


  • The Friend Nobody Likes: None of the others in Puppetress posse particularly like him. Considering how smug and disrespectful he is to their allies and his blind devotion to Puppetress, it's not hard to see why.

     Quatal 

Chantico Tlaloc — Quatal

Quirk: Aztec Idol

One of Puppetress's two trusted bodyguards, a man dressed in the garb of an ancient Aztec warrior.


     Showdown 

Creed Quatermain — Showdown

Quirk: Non-Reload

One of Puppetress' two trusted bodyguards, a man dressed like a bounty hunter from the Wild West Era.


     Predator 

Predator

Quirk: Unknown

One of Puppetress' trusted allies. A young mercenary with the firepower of a one-man army.


  • Commonality Connection: He and Toga manage to hit it off quite well with each other after discussing blades.
  • Mommy Issues: He does not have anything positive to say about his mother, and his father Showdown is in complete agreement with him.
  • Overlord Jr.: He's the son of Showdown and they both care deeply for each other.

     Carbonado

Quirk: Unknown Carbon Manipulation Quirk

One of Puppetress' trusted allies. A young woman whose Quirk allows her to manipulate carbon in all its forms.


  • Deadly Gas: She can produce carbon monoxide to poison people, which she demonstrates on Void when he trash-talks Tomura.
  • Has a Type: She actually considers Heteromorph-type people beautiful, hence why she takes an interest in Spinner.

     Chemistra 

Chemistra

Quirk: Unknown Chemistry Manipulation Quirk

One of Puppetress' trusted allies. A young woman of dubious sanity and talent in creating and mixing chemicals with her Quirk.


  • Dissonant Serenity: Remains a sweet and cute girl while remarking how she had Feedback poison Void with a cobra venom cocktail of her own creation.
  • For Science!: Seems to have this kind of attitude, if her interest in the cloning goop Twice's doubles are made of is any indication.
  • Genki Girl: Her questionable sanity aside, she's very cheerful and eccentric.

     Nightmare

Quirk: Mind Monster

One of Puppetress' trusted allies. A goth girl with a punk-like attitude.


  • Dark and Troubled Past: From what she's mentioned so far, nobody in her family ever gave her any support.
  • Nightmare Weaver: Her Quirk allows her to manifest monsters based on people's fears to fight for her.
  • Snark-to-Snark Combat: Her and Dabi's first interaction with each other is basically mocking their pasts and poor disguises.

The International Cabal

     Colonel Cash

Quirk: Unknown Money Empowerement Quirk

The #1 Villain in America. Despite currently being imprisoned, he still manipulates things behind the scene. After hearing of his best friend All For One's defeat and arrest, he extends an offer of alliance to the League of Villains.


  • Affably Evil: Despite being America's #1 Villain, he is quite respectful and respects the work of Heroes, since it keeps Villains with someone to battle against.
  • Do Wrong, Right: Due to believing that, whether Hero or Villain, you should 100% commit to the person you're supposed to be, he is disgusted when he learns his son, Gallant, who he prided on as his heroic Arch-Enemy, was abusing his family behind closed doors. As such, he punishes him by allowing his vengeful daughter to pay back all the abuse and destroy his career.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He adores his granddaughter and dearly misses his late wife.
  • I Have No Son!: He had already disowned his son Gallant sometime ago after learning of the abuse he inflicted on his family, but tearfully does it again when he's brought to the League/Guild.
  • Luxury Prison Suite: Despite being in jail, his prison cell is described as a movie actor's dream pad.
  • Wife-Basher Basher: He loathes violence towards women, as he beat his son Gallant black and blue before disowning him for doing such.

     Onikage

Quirk: Yami

The #1 Villain in China and All For One's rival.


  • Casting a Shadow: His Quirk allows him to use any kind of darkness and shadow-related superpower, making him a very versatile and dangerous threat.
  • Dark Is Evil: He has Casting a Shadow powers and he's the #1 Villain of China. He definitely counts for this trope.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: All For One at least doesn't. And the other villains are annoyed by his constant reminding of how he was the first Japanese #1 Villain.
  • Predecessor Villain: He was the original #1 Villain of Japan before All For One rose to power and overthrew him, forcing him to set up shop in China. Even now, he's still resentful toward him for that.

     Gentleman Ripper

Quirk: Madness Aura

The #1 Villain in the United Kingdom


  • Evil Old Folks: His exact age is unknown but he's said to have a grandfatherly voice.
  • Expy: His outfit brings to mind Jack the Ripper's portrayal in Assassin's Creed Syndicate.
  • Legacy Character: He's heavily implied to be directly descended from the original Jack the Ripper.
  • Supernatural Fear Inducer: One of the applications of his Quirk allows him to release a powerful aura of fear that can paralyze his targets or even make them commit suicide.

     Commissar Cyber

     Baron von Hurricane

The #1 Villain in Germany.


  • Cyborg: Overuse of his Quirk destroyed his arms, so he replaced them with cybernetics, allowing him to use his power without limits.
  • Expy: Of Von Twirlenkiller from MadWorld.

     Madame Masque

     Captain Conquistador

Quirk: Potential Sense

The #1 Villain in Spain.


  • Badass Normal: Compared to some of the other Quirks his comrades wield, he can only sense the strength and potential of others yet he still manages to make a name for himself as Spain's #1 Villain.
  • Dashing Hispanic: He is quite charming and affable and is the #1 Villain of Spain. He is even clad like a Spanish Swashbuckler.
  • Master Swordsman: Fitting his overall style, he is frighteningly skilled with a blade in his hand.
  • Spirited Competitor: Thanks to his Quirk, he enjoys finding strong opponents to fight with, as evidenced by one of the security guards at Tartarus whom he singles out to duel.

     Adam- 1

The #1 Villain in Africa.


  • Explosive Breeder: He has a large number of children, which helps tie into his Quirk, which prolongs his lifespan with every child he has.
  • Immortality Inducer: His Quirk allows him to do this to himself. Every child he has extends his lifespan by a whole decade. And let's just say he has many children...

     Danger Dingo

The #1 Villain in Australia.


  • Blade Enthusiast: Comes with a Quirk that allows him to turn any inanimate object into whatever blade he can imagine with a single touch.
  • Expy: Of Kano, minus the cybernetic eye.
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: Limited to blades. His Quirk allows him to transform anything into whatever type of blade he can imagine, such as turning a security key card into a knife to cut All For One free of his bindings.

     Lord Pharoh

Quirk: Pantheon Disciple

The #1 Villain in Egypt.


  • Expy: Of The Pharoh.
  • Mummy Wrap: One of the Egyptian Pantheon powers he uses allows him to use mummy bandages to wrap around targets and suck away their life force into himself, leaving them shriveled husks.
  • Semi-Divine: His Quirk grants him powers based on the Egyptian Pantheon, which he uses to deadly effect.

     Minotaur
