Devils

    Sirzechs Lucifer
Rias Gremory's brother who is one of the Four Demon Lords.

    Serafall Leviathan
Sona Sitri's sister and another one of the Four Demon Lords.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Has one for just about everyone, much to Sona's chagrin.
  • Ambiguously Bi: She may or may not have feelings for her sister while also trying to Ship Tease her character with Makoto's character while insisting her relationship with Makoto himself is "purely professional."
  • Cosplay Otaku Girl: She arrives at the school dressed as a magical girl and acts in-character.
  • Destructive Savior: She's all too eager to use devastating attacks that would cause massive collateral damage if the others weren't there to keep her from using them.
  • Genki Girl: In stark contrast to her stoic younger sister, she's extremely energetic.
  • The Glomp: Has a tendency to do this to her sister, much to her chagrin.
  • Incest Subtext: She suggests her affection for her sister may be "more than sisterly love."
  • Show Within a Show: She stars in Miracle Levia-tan, which she ropes Aika and Makoto in joining the cast of in Volume 5.
  • Ship Tease: She suggests her and Makoto's character in her Show Within a Show may develop "romantic tension," which Akeno jokingly interprets as "an affair."
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Her hyper and affectionate personality clashes with her serious younger sister, who's embarrassed by the mere mention of her.
  • Woman Child: She acts like a teenaged magical girl (Or "maou-gical girl" according to Makoto) despite being an adult Demon Lord.

    Zeoticus Gremory
The father of Rias and Sirzechs and the current head of the Gremory family.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: He rivals and possibly surpasses Gabriel in this regard, embarrassing both Rias and Makoto so much that they flee to the former's bedroom.
  • Camera Fiend: He is seen with a camera when we first meet him, taking any opportunity to take pictures and video when he visits his daughter, much to her chagrin. He does take a break from taking pictures of his daughter to take a signed photo of Serafall in cosplay with Makoto.
  • Happily Married: Even though he maintains a harem, Venelana is very much his Top Wife.
  • Shipper on Deck: He's incredibly eager for Makoto and Rias to be in a relationship, insisting that he call him "Papa" even though he isn't even in a relationship with his daughter.

    Venelana Gremory
Rias Gremory and Sirzechs Lucifer's mother. She was a member of the Bael family before marrying Zeoticus.
  • Mum Looks Like a Sister: Even someone as chaste as Makoto is taken aback by her striking similarity to her daughter.
Venelana: You know, I do appreciate your modesty, but you could stand to be a bit bolder.
Makoto: Sorry. You just remind me too much of your daughter for my own good.
  • The Rival: Back in her prime, Gabriel was her sworn rival, especially as her Retribution ability was the Holy Counterpart of hers. However, they are now good friends.
  • Top Wife: She manages her husband's harem and, as far as we know, is the only one to bear his children.
  • Younger Than They Look: She doesn't look much older than Rias, her daughter. She is over 100 in the Light Novel.

    Grayfia Lucifuge
The Queen and wife of Rias' older brother, Sirzechs Lucifer. She also acts as a maid for the House of Gremory.
  • Big Damn Heroes: She arrives as Enrico Stark is attacking Makoto and Akeno and helps them escape.
  • The Dreaded: Nicknamed "The Strongest Queen," she makes even Riser and Gabriel cease their violent argument with the threat of intervention.
  • In Vino Veritas: Implied to be vulnerable to this after drinking Gabriel's wine. She enters uninvited while Makoto is in the bath and even offers to help him bathe. She also gets more honest with him than she's normally comfortable with.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Makoto notes these as part of the reason that it's no surprise that she's the "Strongest Queen."
  • Statuesque Stunner: She's just as tall as Makoto at 174 cm.
  • The Tease: Isn't this normally. A few drinks in, however...

    Riser Phenex
A High-Ranking Devil engaged to Rias Gremory. He asks for the ORC's aid when his sister is captured.
  • Arranged Marriage: He is engaged to Rias per an agreement between the two families.
  • Bait-and-Switch Boss: He is set up to have the Rating Game with Rias Gremory, only for him to decline due to his sister being kidnapped.
  • Battle Harem: His peerage is composed entirely of women.
  • Break the Haughty: He's still quite vain, but being trounced by Milcom Amon beforehand seems to have sobered him up a bit, even offering Phoenix Tears to the Occult Research Club to help them defeat Milcom to help get his sister back, even if that means breaking his engagement with Rias.
  • Brother–Sister Incest: His sister, Ravel, is part of his Battle Harem, though he denies that he has a complex for her.
Koneko: Didn't know he was into that kinda stuff.
    Riser: It's not like that.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He quickly makes work of Diodora as he has Yubelluna "carpet bomb" him and his six remaining Pawns when he tries to ambush Makoto.
  • Disposable Fiancé: Makoto didn't even need to fight him. He called off the Engagement after the Club helps rescue his sister.
  • Engagement Challenge: He says he'll reconsider the engagement if the ORC can rescue his sister.
  • Humiliation Conga: He gets this hard courtesy of Milcom Amon. He curb-stomps him with his smaller peerage, kidnaps his sister, and calls his engagement "self-proclaimed."
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite his haughty attitude and making unwanted advances towards Rias, he genuinely cares for his sister and is, despite initially mocking him for being a Half-Blood, interested in friendly competition with Makoto for who can build the better Battle Harem.
  • Obviously Evil: Subverted. While Makoto says his entrance makes it clear that "he came straight from Hell," he's an Upper-Class Twit at worst, especially since he's a Bait-and-Switch Boss this go-around.
  • Revenge Before Reason: He's willing to concede his engagement with Rias if it means getting back at Milcom for his defeat against him.
"I want Milcom Amon to learn the cost of humiliating the house of Phenex!"
  • The Rival: He has a self-proclaimed rivalry with Makoto after the Engagement Challenge for Rias' hand,
  • Stalker Shrine: He denies returning to the school in Volume 4 to hit on Rias again two volumes after breaking the engagement, despite his mother saying he still keeps several photos of her.

    Luther
One of Diodora's Bishops and his old Childhood Friend. He assists Makoto in rescuing kidnapped Sacred Gear users.
  • Hazy-Feel Turn: After Diodora's arrest, he is transferred from being the Token Good Teammate of his peerage to a member of Anti-Villain Milcom Amon's peerage.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: Subverted. He sticks out for Diodora longer than he cares to admit, but he very much resents what he has become and ultimately decides to rebel against him when given the chance.
  • Named by the Adaptation: He is merely an unnamed Bishop in the Light Novel and Anime. He is briefly mentioned by Issei when he says he thinks one of the Bishops is a guy.
  • The One Guy: He is the only guy in Diodora's Battle Harem, as he was recruited before he developed his "horrid fetish."
  • The Red Mage: He primarily uses Twilight Healing and support magic along with some use of offensive spells.
  • Replacement Mooks: He feared that he would have been replaced by Asia if given the chance, especially since he also has Twilight Healing.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When he has his back against the wall against Ravel and Rahab, he surrenders and offers to assist Makoto, saying that "I'm not sticking my neck out for Diodora anymore!"
  • Token Good Teammate: He is the only member of Diodora's peerage who isn't either evil or brainwashed.

    Martha
Diodora's Queen who was a Sister who had been brainwashed by Diodora.
  • Face–Monster Turn: She was possessed by Diodora and turned into her slave. When she is cured through Makoto's senjutsu she remembers nothing about it.
  • Named by the Adaptation: She was an unnamed Queen in the Light Novel and anime.
  • Sex Slave: Potentially implied, given that both Diodora and Luther claim he had a "fetish" for her type.

    Seekvaira Agares
A high-ranking devil and heiress to the house of Agares, who is also a big mecha otaku.
  • Childhood Friends: Of both Rias and Makoto, the latter of whom she mainly spoke to through a mecha forum.
  • Childhood Marriage Promise: Makoto had supposedly asked her online a long time ago if she wanted to marry him. Makoto insists that was his Mom's idea.
  • Not So Stoic: Her serious persona vanishes once someone mentions mecha. Especially when she finds out Makoto was Fuji0510 on the forums.
  • Otaku: Specifically for mecha anime. Her father got her into it to help her cope with the stress of being an heiress.

Fallen Angels

    Baraqiel
The father of Akeno Himejima and a fallen angel who was injured on Earth and was rescued by and later married Shuri Himejima.
  • The Atoner: He takes Yuma under his wing after she runs away from the Khaos Brigade in an attempt to make amends with his estrangement with Akeno.
  • Henpecked Husband: Subverted. He and Shuri, at the very least, appear to have a healthy relationship, but she's certainly a dominant and she sharply gets onto him after he tries to attack Gabriel after she just saved her, with him complying without hesitation.
  • My Greatest Failure: According to Yuma, he believes his failure to protect Shuri and Akeno is this.
  • Properly Paranoid: After the last thing he heard from Azazel was about him going into Heaven before he was killed, he has reason to get defensive when he sees the Seraph Gabriel in his house.
  • Shock and Awe: He has power over lightning that he passed onto Akeno.

    Shemhazai
The leader of the Fallen Angels and the Grigori after Azazel was defeated by Halja.

Humans

    Suzaku Himejima
Akeno's older cousin who's the current head of the Himejima clan.

  • The Atoner: She intends to mend the shaky relationship the clan has with fallen angels such as Akeno.
  • Playing with Fire: She has a strong grasp on fire magic as her clan is blessed by the Shinto God of Fire.
  • Red Herring: The Himejima clan is attributed to the kidnapping of Ravel Phenex when in reality it's Milcom Amon
  • Strong Family Resemblance: She's noted by Makoto to share a striking resemblance to her cousin, down to the "massive knockers".

    Shuri Himejima
A priestess of the House of Himejima who married the fallen angel Baraqiel and was killed as a result.
  • Ascended Extra: She has more attention given than in the original, where she's only briefly mentioned. She's also key to the backstories of Gabriel and Makoto.
  • Death by Origin Story: She is killed after she marries and gives birth to a fallen angel.
  • Muggle–Mage Romance: She marries the fallen angel Baraqiel.
  • Posthumous Character: She was killed before the events of the story and appears in flashback chapters.

    Hikaru Fujiwara
Gabriel's late husband who was killed by his former employer, the Himejima clan, for his association with Baraqiel.
  • Muggle–Mage Romance: He married the Seraph Gabriel after they met shortly after she arrived on Earth post-Ragnarok.
  • Last Request: He asks for Makoto not to get involved, which sticks for about eight years before Makoto breaks Gabriel's enchantment when attacked by fallen angels.
  • Posthumous Character: He was killed due to his and Gabriel's relationship with Baraqiel.
