Protagonist

    Kong 
A clone of the original Kong, who passed away. He was created via cloning by Dr. Lorna Jenkins supplemented with the DNA of her grandson, Jason Jenkins, making the two "half-brothers”.

Voiced by Scott McNeil
  • Adaptational Heroism: Kong goes from the wild animal worshiped by terrified natives in the movie to the island's legendary guardian beast who spends the time he's not helping Jason and his friends rescuing animals on the island from danger. In one episode he even sneaks out of the airplane hangar where the humans left him and spends the night saving people from street thugs.
  • Affectionate Nickname: In a non-romantic way. Jason calls him "bro", due the fact that Kong was made from half of Jason's DNA and the original Kong's DNA.
  • Bash Brothers: Genetically to Jason.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: He and Jason go berserk after De La Porta activates the power of the Primal Stone of Soul combined with a sacred song from Patti Wama. Luckly, with Lua's help, the brainwashing is successfully stopped before they attempt to attack them.
  • Expy: As a friendly offspring (of-sorts) of the original Kong, he can be seen as one to Kiko/Little Kong.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Kong has a soft spot for harmless animals.
  • Genetic Memory: Kong sometimes gets flashes from his past life as the original King Kong.
  • Gentle Giant: Unlike the original Kong, he genuinely cares about the innocent even though he still gets easily triggered by someone who tries to hurt his comrades.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: As stated above, he's a pretty sweet soul, but his rage can be set off at even the mere mention of De La Porta or Chyros, the latter of which triggers his Genetic Memory of the original Kong and his constant battle with Chyros.
  • The Power of Friendship: Due to not being ready to get fused with Jason in order to stop Rajeev who merges with a Yeti, Kong almost kills him due to being unable to control himself. After Lua reminds him that the Yeti is his friend, Kong is able to control himself and succeeds in saving Yeti from Rajeev's control.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: After sensing that a gigantic cat monster's identity is a child named Billy, who has transformed into said monster via cyberlink by accident, Kong refuses to hurt him and tries hard to stop him without needing to injure him.

    Jason Jenkins 
A main hero of the series, who is Kong's "older" brother and Dr. Lorna Jenkins's only grandson. A passionate and hot-blooded university student (he's an archaeology major) who is also a practioner of martial arts.

Cyberlink monster form: Kong, Fennec Fox, Eagle, Triceratops.

  • All-Loving Hero: Jason still hopes for De La Porta's redemption, even when he warns him to not trust Harpy and Chiros. However, De La Porta being De La Porta, he is in deep denial, resulting in his Karmic Death.
  • Almost Kiss: He and Lua almost kiss when they confess their feelings for each other, due to Kong playfully splashing them with water at the end of series.
  • Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: While he is not really arrogant and is actually a genuinely passionate and Nice Guy, Jason is prideful and confident regarding his martial arts and athletic skills.
  • Bash Brothers: Genetically to Kong.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: He and Kong go berserk after De La Porta activates the power of the Primal Stone of Soul combined with a sacred song from Patti Wama. Luckly, with Lua's help, the brainwashed succeed to stop before they attempt to attack them.
  • Hot-Blooded: Jason is known to be always energetic.
  • Nice Guy: While he is sometimes over confident over his skills, he is genuinely a good guy, even he willingly saves De La Porta from Andre.
  • Ordinary High-School Student: Actually he and Tann are university students. It's shown that they are almost in their last semester, which is mentioned when he believes that De la Porta has reformed and invited him to his museum to assist with his thesis.

    Eric "Tann" Tannenbaum IV  
The best friend of Jason Jenkins, who has the same major as him. He is from a wealthy family, (in fact, he is even wealthier than his parents due to his grandfather giving Tann his trust fund).

  • The Big Guy: Physically much bigger and more muscular than Jason.
  • Fat and Skinny: He's the fat one to Jason, who is skinny.
  • Friend to All Children: Tann has a soft spot for children. In the episode Framed, he becomes a god-father to his friend's baby boy.
  • Genius Bruiser: Physically more muscular than Jason. Beside his love of eating pineapple pizza, Tann is proved to be smart with technology and occasionally gives an opinion of how to solve a problem.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Tann is Jason's best friend from university and they are rarely separated.
  • Nice Guy: Like Jason, Tann is a big-softie and a kind-hearted guy even though he comes from a wealthy family.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • After he realizes the identity of "a giant cat burglar" is no other but Tiger Lucy.
    • After he hears that the policemen want to shoot Billy who has gone berserk as "Cat Monster".
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Tann absolutely loves pizza, especially pineapple pizza (even though it makes his toe itch due to allergies).

    Lua 
A local shaman of Kong Island. She aids Jason and Dr. Jenkins to help them stop De La Portaand gives them the information they need about the Primal Stones.

  • Almost Kiss: She and Jason almost kiss when they confess their feelings for each other, due to Kong playfully splashing them with water in the end of series.
  • Damsel in Distress: While Lua is able to take some actions, she always get targeted by De La Porta due to her knowledge of the Primal Stones.
  • Does Not Like Spam: When De La Porta (who undercover as Jason) offers her coffee, she tells him that she does not like it.
  • Earthy Barefoot Character: Apart from gala balls, snowy places and the CGI film, Lua always walks around barefoot. Even when they go to town she is left with her typical dress and bare feet. This comes from her nature as a tribal woman born on a wild island. She might as well derive that she is a Magical Barefooter, she is still a shaman.
  • Fish out of Water: Lua is very naive about the world outside of Kong Island. For proof, she is uncomfortable wearing a dress in their mission to check up De La Porta new museum, and absolutely hates the animal-fur clothing theme.
  • Fragile Speedster: While Lua is not physically strong like Jason and Tann, she proves to be agile and speedy, which makes her capable of holding her own in a fight.
  • Friend to All Living Things: As shaman, Lua is very close with nature and animals, which explains why she hates fur clothing.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Lua becomes one every time another girl shows attraction to Jason.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: She trusts a mysterious shaman child named "Zara" and teach her about the primal stone and many things, who is turned to be Harpy.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Being the Sole Survivor of native Kong Island, Lua desparately wanted to find any other shaman or a human to be her friends to cover her loneliness.
  • Last of His Kind: The only Kong Island local shaman who is still alive in current era.
  • Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Inverted in Lua when she is possessed by Wendigo. Where She shares the muscular wendigo form with De La Porta.
  • Nubile Savage: Is a very beautiful tribal woman.
  • Token Religious Teammate : Lua is local shaman of Kong island. Which makes sense: she always ties with a any ancient spirituality and has vast knowledge about Kong Island.

    Dr. Lorna Jenkins 
A scientist who is Jason's grandmother and the one who cloned Kong from the DNA of King Kong. She is in the midst of researching the different species on Kong Island, as well as the Primal Stones when Da La Porta steals them in the first episode.

Voiced by Daphne Goldrick and Kathy Morse.

  • Brainy Brunette: In her youth, it's shown that she had brown hair and she is very intelligent.
  • Canon Character All Along: The Game Boy Advance game reveals that she is this continuity's version of Ann Darrow, which is why she was so dedicated to reviving King Kong.
  • Cool Old Lady: Lorna is seen to be very attractive to her male friends as they often flirt with her when they chat, and she stills take a role as informant in gathering some information.
  • Motherly Scientist: Due to Kong being cloned from her grandson's DNA, she treats him like part of her family too.
  • Neutral Female: She rarely takes part in any action and mainly focuses on finding information.
  • Nice Girl: She is deeply caring with her old friends and her grandson, even though he is already a university student.
  • Parental Substitute: She has taken care of Jason since his childhood due to his parents being dead.

De La Porta and his henchmen

    In General 
Ramone and his henchmen are the main antagonist of the series. A group of thieves and kidnappers to collect and gather some information about the Primal Stones and a ancient artifacts. With a cyberlink, they able to fuse with any animals and formed a gigantic humanoid monster of animals.
  • Bad People Abuse Animals: Capture and use any random animal to fuse themselves with their cyberlink to fight and do their dirty job.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Even though they are willing to do some dirty jobs for money, the henchmen still question him about the situation and mission.
    • Frazetti confesses his confusion and fear about Kong Island after De la Porta wants to get a Primal Stone, and he tells De La Porta that the island is dangerous.
    • In The Thirteenth Stone both Tiger Lucy and Omar are absolutely unhappy after they arrive in the age of dinosaurs. They are confused and angry at De la Porta due to his denying their question, and Tiger Lucy also demands that he needs to find a way to return them to the current era.
  • Lack of Empathy: None of them care about their captive people/animals, and are willing to hurt them if they try to get free or threaten them.
  • Monster of the Week: Each episode involves them, they will have different monster form depending on which animals they have.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: The henchmen. As long as they get a bonus from De La Porta, they will do anything for him.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Their kidnap victims, most of whom are woman.
  • Would Hurta Child: In Dangerous Melody, when Jason and his team turn into children due to a Primal Stone, they still use them as hostage to Kong, even being willing to kill them by throwing them into the river full of crocodiles.
  • You're Nothing Without Your Phlebotinum: Jason and Tann with their martial arts and Lua with her supernatural knowledge and her agility can hold their own in a fight. While they are without cyberlinks, these villains are helpless due to relying too much on weapons and cyberlinks. They are easily defeated and later run away.

    Ramone De La Porta 
Professor Ramone De La Porta is an arrogant and power hungry scientist, university teacher, and museum owner willing to do anything to become the smartest person in the world and to conquer the world bynany means.

Cyberlink monster form: Smilodon, cave bear, gigantophis, wild boar, manticore (fused from cat and scorpion), tyrannosaurs, jaguar, eagle, Loch Ness, Cockatoo, spider monkey, two-headed cerberus (fused from two german shepherds).

  • Alas, Poor Villain: His soul ends up being broken by Chiros ritual and its confirmed by Dr. Jenkins that he has little chance of being saved, both Lua and Tann can't help but feel sorry to him.
  • Ambition Is Evil: His goal of collecting the Primal Stones is to become the smartest person in the world and conquer the world. To reach this, he is willing to do anything to get this from stealing and kidnapping.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Jason warns him to not work together with Harpy and Chiros since they are demons and want to destroy the world. However, De La Porta refuses to listen to him and expects that Chiros will bestow power on him. Unfortunately, instead of receiving power he ends being used by Harpy to complete the ritual to free Chiros. This results in his Karmic Death due to his arrogance and denial.
  • Big Bad: While Chiros is the most threatened villain in the series, still he and his henchmen dirty job cause the main threat.
  • Bad Boss: If his henchmen cause some mistake or their mission is failed, he will rudely scold them.
  • Dashing Hispanic: Ramone is apparently of Hispanic, probably Mexican, heritage, judging from his accent tone of him speaking.
  • Demonic Possession:
    • In intentional case, he is willingly being possessed by Wendigo,which leads him turn into it.
    • Play straight in The Thirteenth Stone where Chiros puts a spell to him where he almost gets killed as Chiros sacrifices before being saved by Omar.
  • Dirty Coward: De La Porta willingly frames Jason and his friend in order to evade capture and always runs away from them after his plan fails.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: As much as hypocritical he is, De La Porta is genuinely disgust over any kind of poaching. While he does capture some animals for sake to use Cyberlink, in fact he never takes it back and just lets them free after his defeat.
  • Evil Laugh: Along with Slasher Smile when he is delighted to see his plan work, threatening someone and receives an ancient power from primal stone.
  • Evil Mentor: He is Jason and Tann's university teacher.
  • He-Man Woman Hater: While he never states this, his annoyance at Tiger Lucy and harassment of Lua is prove he is not very good at facing women.
  • Last-Name Basis: He's always called "De La Porta", even though sometimes he's been called "Ramone" or "Professor".
  • Pragmatic Villainy: De La Porta wants to capture and kill Kong with any means. But the only way that he will never use to do it is killing Jason and his human friends. Because he knows that something worse will happen if he does that.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: Occasionally dresses like this in some episodes.
  • Slasher Smile: Everytime if he is delighted in seeing his plan work well.

    Omar 
A tall African-American man who is The Dragon of De La Porta.

Cyberlink monster form: rat, griffin (fused from lion and eagle), triceratops, anteater, dog, mandrill, coyote, lizard.

  • Armor-Piercing Question: In The Thirteenth Stone, he begin questioning De La Porta statement about they are enter in wrong timeline.
    " In middle of nightmare, you call that luck !"
  • Bald of Evil: He is tall Scary Black Man and most intimidating henchmen.
  • The Brute: Omar is physically strong and intimidating than the others, even with De La Porta.
  • The Dragon: He is most trusted henchmen of De La Porta.
  • Genius Bruiser: In contrast with Frazetti, Omar proved to be smart enough which made him even often accompany De La Porta to do his dirty job.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: Omar always seen partnered with Tiger Lucy and never seen liking each other.
  • Scary Black Man: The only African-American guy who become De La Porta minion, and straight-up most intimidating than the other henchmen.
  • Undying Loyalty: Most loyal henchmen of De La Porta. He shown three times to save De La Porta from harm, like from Set rampage, forcing him to evacuated from gold mines and from Chiros mind-control at past.

    Tiger Lucy 
The The Smurfette Principle of the team. Used to be Tannenbaum family art dealer and having a crush on Tann, she turn our to be one of De La Porta henchmen who willingly do his dirty job for money.

Cyberlink monster form: Cat.

  • Affably Evil: While Tiger Lucy willingly does dirty jobs for De La Porta to get money, she remains humble, sarcastic and carefree.
  • Almost Kiss: She attempt to kiss Tann at their reunion, but Jason quickly pull him to manage go out from museum after fail to find De La Porta.
  • Animal Motif: Feline. She has word "Tiger" on her name and she is associated with form of cat-humanoid when use Cyberlink.
  • Cat Girl: She always known to be fused with her pet cat.
  • Classy Cat-Burglar: Use cyberlink to turn her into giant cat monster, to stole some ancient artifacts. Judging from her action on her debut episode, it's implied she already experienced to work as cat burglar for long before De La Porta recruit her.
  • Combat Parkour: On her debut episode, Tiger Lucy shown skilled on acrobatic when attempt to steal the artifact from the museum.
  • Combat Stilettos: Her boots heel quite tall and she even still wear this when she attempt steal artifacts.
  • Faux Action Girl: Tiger Lucy only twice shown using cyberlink in series and often get defeated very quickly if she attempted to fight the heroes.
  • Full-Name Basis: Both heroes and De La Porta call her in full name.
  • Karma Houdini: While De La Porta meet his Karmic Death and the rest henchmen are captured by the heroes, she is completely absent in the end of series. The fact, since she willingly do dirty job for money with him, her ''mysterious'' disappearance is doubled with this.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: Inverted. Tiger Lucy has a tabby cat. Despite her morality and role as henchwoman for De La Porta, Tiger Lucy does like to pet her cat during one episode "Framed" and proves to be friendly with her cat.
  • Money Fetish: Blatantly admits to De La Porta that she will do his dirty job if she gets paid and tells him that she wants to illegally sell the stolen weapon as her bonus, which annoys him very much.
  • Morphic Resonance: Tiger Lucy's mutant cat form shares its fur color with her civilian clothes: red and dark blue.
  • Never My Fault: Casually mocking De La Porta who annoyed with her after she decide to evade the capture from Kong and Lua by destroy the stolen arms, said that he never inspire her with anything.
  • Non-Idle Rich: Despite being an art dealer for a rich family like the Tannenbaums,Tiger Lucy does not get enough money from selling the art. This leads to her becoming a thief and De La Porta's henchwoman to get a bonus.
  • Right-Hand Cat: Tiger Lucy and her cat are friendly and close with each other. This is shown during the events of "Framed" before they merged into mutant-cat monster, especially when the cat informs her of Lua and Kong's appearance by hissing at them.
  • Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Unlike fellow henchmen, Tiger Lucy's mutant cat form has more feminine characteristic, such as a body fur pattern resembling a crop-top, a leg fur pattern resembling long boots and a more slim body-shape.
  • Villainous Crush: Tiger Lucy has a crush on Tann while she is still an art dealer for his family. It seems Tann also has a crush on her, which is proved when he is so surprised after he learns that she is working with De La Porta, but it's never stated if they were ever dating or in a relationship.

    Frazetti 
A blonde haired De La Porta henchmen who is presumably a Italian.

Cyberlink monster form: Hyena, stegosaurs, quetzalcoatl (fused from quetzal and rattlesnake)

  • Blow You Away: As quetzalcoatl, he able blow a wind with his arm-wings.
  • Dumb Blonde: Male version. He always follow whatever De La Porta order without thinking first and often get foiled by the heroes much like Giggles.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Often partnered with Giggles.
  • Hollywood Acid: As quetzalcoatl, he gain a "acid spit" that melts through almost anything.
  • Sleeves Are for Wimps: He always shown wear brown tanktop.
  • Winged Humanoid: Instead of dragon-like form, his quetzalcoatl version is more to naga-like humanoid with wing at his arms.

    Giggles 
A black haired fat man who always partnered with Frazetti.
Cyberlink monster form: Komodo dragon, crocodile, eagle, tarantula, coyote, stegosaurus

  • Breath Weapon: As komodo dragon monster, it gives him the ability to breathe fire.
  • Butt-Monkey: Giggles notable get most unluckiest moment in the series unlike the other antagonist. He foolishly get electrocuted by Howling Jack electricity fence when he try to runs away from Kong. Being mocked and leaved by Frazetti and Omar alone after he loses from fight against Kong. Get stuck in small hole after being foiled by Lua. And then accidentally slip Frazetti to lake with his tail when he become stegosaurus monster.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: The food he makes tastes awful.
  • Fat Bastard: The only male henchmen who physically not so muscular or build.
  • Morphic Resonance: Some of Giggles' mutant forms keep his plump body shape and long mustache.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: As the tarantula monster. This is probably his most fearsome monster form.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Only known as "Giggles", due his habit to giggling, by all people. His real name is never stated.

    Other Henchmen 

Wu-Chan

A Chinese man who appear in episode Curse of the Dragon.

Cyberlink monster form: Dragon (fused from Kingsnake and Pekingese dog)

Rajeev

A Indian man who appear in episode Top Of The World
Cyberlink monster form: Yeti

  • Even Evil Has Standards: Unlike the other henchmen who eagerly or willingly accept the cyberlinks, Rajeev absolutely surprised when De La Porta order him to use it and he has no choice but accept it.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • When De La Porta offer him to use cyberlinks.
    • After he see Kong (who merge with Jason) become enlarge and furious, instantly punch him due to not ready to merge with Jason.
  • One-Shot Character: Same with Wu-Chan, he only appear in one episode.
  • Psycho for Hire: He and his men are a mercenary that hire by De La Porta.

Other Characters

    Chiros the Destroyer/Shikala 
The true main Big Bad of the series. He once a greedy shaman named Shikala who wanted a power from primal stone, but ended transform become a demonic entity to destroy the world. He was sealed away by the original Kong and his shaman companion. After De La Porta steals some of the Primal Stones, Chiros is slowly released from his imprisonment.
Voiced by Paul Dobson

  • Ancient Evil: He lived for millions of years and was trapped in the Skull Island.
  • And I Must Scream: Jason/Kong throw him back to his dimension and destroy his portal seal. Which made him trapped in his dimension forever.
  • Big Bad Ensemble: With De La Porta. Chiros is far less active since he can't leave his temple, acting through his minions, until he's freed.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: When he's free he swiftly defeats Kong, who even as Mega Kong is no match for him.
  • Evil Is Bigger: With his snake like tail he is much larger than Kong.
  • Lightning Bruiser: When freed, he turns to be even larger than Kong, and faster.
  • Near-Villain Victory: He almost succeed to imprisoned Jason/Kong who start weakened to his dimension, and it succeed prevent by Lua with her rituals.
  • Orcus on His Throne: Even when the seal imprisoning him is broken he can't leave his temple, so he has to act through his minions.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: He was sealed by the previous shaman with the power of primal stones. Until De La Porta come to the island and stole all the stones, the seal is broken. Even when the seal on his broken, Chiros can't leave his temple so he has to act through his minions. That is until he tricks De La Porta into helping release him in the finale.
  • Snake People: His lower body consist with a snake-like tail, and he almost similar with Naga.
  • Take Over the World: His ultimate plan if he succeed wiped out all humanity in earth.
  • Was Once a Man: In flashback, it shown Chiros used to be Human shaman who ended become a demon due his primal stone rituals.

    Harpy 
Harpy is a gargoyle-demon who serves as The Dragon of Chiros the destroyer. Due to Chiros unable to leave the tomb, Harpy given a tasks by him to get the Primal Stone so she can release him from imprisoned.

  • Ambiguous Gender: For female demon, she has very masculine body and raspy voice.
  • Bait the Dog: She take a form of a little girl named Zara to make Lua trust her, so she can give the primal stone to her. This plan is almost successful due to Lua fully believe her as the remain Kong Native, and when she reveal herself, Lua is visibly so hurt due her recklessness to trust Harpy.
  • The Dragon: The most trusted and loyal Chiros minion.
  • Hidden Depths: Minor. When she undercover as a Kong Native's child, it's shown she pretty good at baking.
  • Ironic Name: Her name is based on Greek mythology of "Bird-Maiden", but this Harpy is a Gargoyle-demon.
  • Meaningful Name: "Harpy" in Greek mythology is the servant of Erinyes, who is known to be so vicious and cruel. Which is very fit for her who is most trusted and loyal minion to Chiros.
  • Taken for Granite: Get struck by Lua's lightning, resulting she revert back to stone statue forever.

    Ominous 
A huge monster in service to Chiros and is his strongest servant. While Harpy acts as the brains of Chiros' minions, Ominous acts as the muscle.

  • The Brute: Acts a big bruiser who simply gets into fights with Kong and is subordinate to Harpy. Unlike most examples he's actually stronger than The Dragon since Harpy is human sized while Ominous is a giant.
  • Strong as They Need to Be: Sometimes Ominous is capable of overpowering Kong and is too much to defeat under normal circumstances, requirring Kong to become Mega Kong or the aid of the original Kong, other times Kong is strong enough to defeat him.
  • Top-Heavy Guy: Has undersized legs in comparison to his bulky upper body.
  • Your Size May Vary: Like Kong, his size varies depending on the shot. Sometimes he's as a big as Kong, other times he's actually bigger.

    Andre 
Andre is evil Arms Dealer who sells the illegal weapon to various international criminal. Some believe De La Porta ever made some contact to him to looking for powerful weapons. After Giggles stole the hi-tech weapon, he raids De La Porta hideout and kidnap him.

Cyberlink monster form: Komodo Dragon (accidentally), Polar bear.

  • Bad People Abuse Animals: In Blue Star, he start to sell endangered animals after giving up arms smuggling for not paying enough.
  • Evil Versus Evil: His first debut at episode Dragon Fire where he kidnap De La Porta after Giggles stole a Hi-Tech weapon, thinking that De La Porta dislike the price that he offer to him. Andre not only kidnap De La Porta, but also take his cyberlinks and the Primal Stone. Making Dr.Jenkins has no choice but order to the heroes to save him and take the cyberlinks and the Primal Stone before fall to the other enemies hand.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: He and his men are twice evaded from capture in two episodes where is involves with him, and ultimatel in Interview With a Monkey, he finally captured and imprisoned.
