Saunders Lewis

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_wales_saunders_lewis_07.png

  • Conscription: Lewis institutes mandatory military service in Wales to combat the syndicalist threat.
  • Cult of Personality: After thwarting H. R. Jones' coup attempt, Lewis will build a cult of personality, portraying himself as the God-appointed leader of Wales. His portrait is hung in every classroom, and his face is omnipresent in the streets.
  • Full-Circle Revolution: If Lewis seizes and holds onto power, Wales' revolution would only have replaced an English dictator (Oswald Mosley) with a Welsh one.
  • Occupiers Out of Our Country: The Wales Home Rule Army has been in active opposition to the government in Westminster since 1925, and seeks to secure Wales' independence from English rule.
  • The Purge: Lewis will round up and shoot key union leaders, and give many unionised workers lengthy prison terms, so that no socialist can rise against his rule. If H. R. Jones' coup attempt against him fails, he'll begin rooting out his allies in the administration.
  • Secret Police: The Comisiwn Heddlu Arbennig is a secret police force formed for the purpose of rooting out syndicalists and traitors.

H. R. Jones

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_wal_hr_jones.png

Official Name: Kingdom of Scotland (Paternal Autocrat), Scottish Workers' Republic (socialist), Covenanter Scotland (National Populist)
Ideology: Authoritarian Democracy

  • Binding Ancient Treaty: If the syndicalists take power in Scotland, they can accuse England of having betrayed the revolution and ask the Commune of France to join the Third Internationale, citing the anti-English Auld Alliance between the two countries.
  • Rightful King Returns: Scotland can choose to invite the exiled King of the United Kingdom from Canada to Edinburgh, in preparation for an invasion of England and the restoration of the UK.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_john_white.png

  • The Theocracy: Reverend White seeks to turn Scotland into a Presbyterian Kingdom of God on Earth.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: One of White's first actions is to purge the Homeland Watch as enemies of God. While he acknowledges their necessity during the revolt, they have long outlived their usefulness and must be put to the sword.

  • Naturalized Name: The foreign monarch crowned King of Britain by Percy Hobart will be known by an English name, either the English equivalent of their given name or a completely new name if the former doesn't exist (in case of Magnus I/Kirill of Russia or Joshua I/Yasuhito of Japan).
  • Offered the Crown: If Percy Hobart decides to restore the monarchy, he'll form a Regency Council with the sole propose to find and elect a new King of Britain. With the Windsors being seen as traitors after leaving Britain to the syndicalists, the Council will instead crown one of 28 possible monarchs from foreign royal houses, including Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich of Russia (Magnus I), Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte (Louis II), Wilhelm II of Germany (William V), among others.

Percy Hobart

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_england_percy_hobart.png
Ideology: Paternal Autocracy

  • Patriotic Fervor: Believing that it was the British people's lack of patriotism that gave the Syndicalists their opening to worm their way to power, Hobart ensures that Britons will find a nation to be proud of.
  • Reluctant Retiree: If the Right Club prevails over Hobart, he'll announce his retirement from politics. He claims the reasons are for his health, which may be partly true, but it's been plainly clear that Hobart has been little more than a figurehead; any influence he could have had over the government is long gone.
  • Vote Early, Vote Often: Under Hobart, the results of elections are decided the moment he holds them. The BBC already has the results even, a sweeping victory for the Loyalists.

Archibald Maule Ramsay

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_england_archibald_ramsay_6.png
Ideology: Paternal Autocracy

  • Clear Their Name: Believing that Guy Fawkes has been unfairly demonised by British historians, Ramsay holds a new trial before live cameras, in which Fawkes is posthumously acquitted of his charges.
  • Evil Reactionary: Ramsay has a very radical view of how Britain should be run: an emphasis on tradition, a new found Catholicism and a rabid hatred of Syndicalism.
  • Regent for Life: Since he has no royal lineage, Ramsay feels it improper to crown himself King. Instead, if he chooses not to give the crown to someone else, he'll proclaim himself Lord High Chancellor, an absolutist ruler whose title will also be bestowed upon his son or other chosen heir.

William Joyce

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_england_williamjoyce.png
Ideology: National Populism

  • Master Race: Joyce sees Britain as the most civilised nation on Earth, with the duty to expand across the world so that all might bathe in its civilising light.

Clement Attlee

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_england_clem_attlee.png
Ideology: Social Democracy

  • Reconcile the Bitter Foes: Attlee's government seeks to integrate the best of both of Britain's past systems, and assures the common people that even after the counter-revolution, they shall not lose the rights they have come to enjoy. He also pardons the social democrats and moderate leftists, allowing them to swear loyalty to the new government, rescind their previous allies and extremist beliefs, and then serve as loyal civil servants in the new Parliament.
  • The Remnant: After the Union of Britain is overthrown in Hobart's counterrevolution, Attlee reforms the Labour Party with former TUC syndicalists who escaped punishment for one reason or another, and are widely seen as a remnant of the old order and a threat to the new order. However, Attlee himself considers the new Labour to be the final protectors of the rights of the workers.

In-Game Biography: Click to Show

  • Ascended Extra: In the original Kaiserreich, Thorez is only the Jacobins' candidate for the post of Security Minister in the Commune of France. With Kaiserredux, he becomes the leader of the Jacobin faction, replacing Marcel Déat (who is moved to the Sorelians, which is more accurate to his real life political stance).
  • Culture Police: The Jacobins seek to dismantle old France's cultural heritage and embrace the future.
  • Face Death with Dignity: When sentenced to death by Maurice Gamelin, Thorez sits calmly without any emotion and says no word, and when given the final word after the sentence is pronounced, he says nothing and stares straight ahead.
  • Illegal Religion: The Jacobins ban all religions in France and replace them with the Cult of the Supreme Being from the old French Revolution.
  • Kangaroo Court: The Jacobins broadcast the trials of dissidents (whose fates have already been pre-determined) in order to show their anti-socialist activity to the world.
  • Reign of Terror: In emulation of their namesake, the Jacobins begin a second Reign of Terror, putting a guillotine on every street and turning the Seine red with the blood of reactionaries (including anarchists, Sorelians and syndicalists).
Much like Robespierre, Thorez himself believed this wasn't enough. More blood had to be spilled for the beloved Commune to be cleansed of corruption. So, he smiled. In a field of sorrow, screams, and agony, he smiled.
  • Renegade Splinter Faction: The Jacobins see the Third Internationale as a corrupt and decadent organisation that sought only to advance the agenda of the syndicalists and their reactionary allies, and will form the Fourth Internationale to serve as the 'global standard bearer of socialism'.

  • Master Race: Bucard paints the German Ape-Man as such a brute that they lack even the most basic understanding of the world, while the Frenchman has always had an underlying sense of vitality and strength, one that was beyond all his neighbours which were either falling asleep in their siestas or being so stupid that they can't change the oil on a lamp.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Bucard, who has always had anti-Semitic tendencies, will use Georges Valois' assassination at the hand of a Jew to enact a crackdown on Jewish citizens living in France.
  • Putting on the Reich: Bucard renames the title of Chairman to Chief (an equivalent of Führer, Duce or Conducător).

Official Name: German Empire, Dual Monarchy of Greater Germany (Second Weltkrieg won, Austria-Hungary annexed), European Union (Second Weltkrieg won, Europe annexed), Greater German Empire (Second Weltkrieg won, Austria annexed), Imperial Federation (Second Weltkrieg won, Europe annexed), Paneuropa (Second Weltkrieg won, Europe annexed)
Ruling Party: Deutschkonservative Parteinote
Ideology: Prussian Constitutionalismnote

  • Allohistorical Allusion: If Germany was occupied by the National France, its government would be forced to sign the Treaty of Versailles and turned into a puppet republic, which is loosely a combination of the Weimar Republic and the Allied occupation of Germany following the real life World Wars.
  • Offered the Crown: Exploited. The German Empire and its loyalists can expand German influence by crowning its royal family members to become rulers of other nations, like crowning Prince August Wilhelm as the Kaiser of Costa Rica (and eventually the unified Central America). Even the Kaiser himself is no exception and can be potentially crowned as the ruler of China, Russia, Texas (and eventually the entire United States), the United Kingdom, the Ottoman Empire and so on.
  • Space-Filling Empire: Germany can form the either Dual Monarchy of Greater Germany (sharing a dual monarchy with Austria and annexed Austria-Hungary) or the Greater German Empire (with Germany taking charge completely and only annexing Austria) through annexation of Austria, which would form a massive Resurgent Empire. The result would either spans across the land of the former Holy Roman Empire at its smallest, or also engulfs the whole Donau-Adriabund beyond that at its largest. Even better, it also has the option to form the Kaiserliche Föderation through annexation of all of its colonies.
  • United Europe: Germany can annex the entirety of Europe and create Paneuropa, a Kaiserreich-centered version of the European Union.

Seraya Shapshal

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_crm_seraya_shapshal.png
Ideology: Paternal Autocracy

  • Cult of Personality: Shapshal raises Solomon Krym as the first Karaite national hero of the modern age. His image and legacy are used by the state to win over the masses, for he was the man who united Crimeans against foreign foes and grave threats like none other. Though he was not fond of the Karaite nationalist movement, the public does not need to know that.
  • Interfaith Smoothie: According to the works and words of Shapshal, the Karaite faith has deep pagan roots. Karaites are descended from pagans who adopted the law of Moses, Jesus and Mohammed as prophets while continuing to adhere to ancient Turkic beliefs. From the worship of old sacred oaks to the belief in a polytheistic pantheon under Tengri, and even to the use of sacrifice, these revelations are brought back to practice.
  • Proud Warrior Race: Shapshal paints Karaite history and tradition in a martial legacy, teaching each and every son of Crimea that they are the heirs to the old khanates, and that all they must do to seize this glory is to embody their martial legacy.

Ruling Party: Partito Popolare Italianonote
Ideology: Popularismnote

  • Church Militant: The NeoSanfedisti are a group of militias formed by Catholic reactionaries who oppose the Italian revolution, and have long been causing trouble in the Southern Italian countryside.
  • The Mafia: Crime families hold a tight grip over Sicily, and are a major thorn in the side of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.
  • The Remnant: After being pushed to the rural Southern Italy by Austria and its allies, the Italian socialists are hanging on by a thread, ruling over a populace that barely supports them.
  • The Theocracy: If the NeoSanfedisti manage to overthrow the socialist government, they'll turn Southern Italy into a Holy Land ruled by the Catholic faith.

Riccardo Lombardi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kx_ricardo_lombardi.png

  • Chummy Commies: The Fasci are democratic socialists who seek to end class exploitation and sexism, uplift the poor, avoid the SRI's corruption and religious repression, and reunify Italy through peaceful means.
  • Have a Gay Old Time: The word faggot in the Fasci's saying 'A Faggot is Unbreakable' has its dated meaning, referring to a bundle of sticks.

Calogero Vizzini

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kx_vizzini.png
Ideology: Paternal Autocracy

  • Arms Dealer: One of the Vizzini regime's main sources of income is selling guns for hefty prices to anyone that needs them.
  • Black Market: The black market is not only the de facto economy in the Mafia State, but is also their primary method of exporting their goods and services. Under the Mafia, Italy continues to manufacture the goods it's famous for; wine, cars, fashion - and now the Mafia exports them to feed the global demand for luxury goods. And unlike many fictional depictions of them, the Mafia has absolutely no problem being part of the drug trade.
  • Corrupt Politician: Exaggerated. In the Mafia State, corruption is no longer a problem to be rooted out, it is both a means and a way of life. The government is corrupt on every single level, with every cop, representative and judge being on the Mafia's payroll, and every political party in the area being loyal to them. Corruption is so ingrained that getting rid of it would be paramount to getting rid of the entire state.
  • The Don: Vizzini is one of the most influential bosses within the Sicilian Mafia. He's gentlemanly and even conducts his operations as legally as possible, but he still rules with unchecked, uncontested, absolute power. With his ascension to dictator of Southern Italy, he unites all the families and gangs behind him by enforcing discipline on them and settling all their feuds.
  • Gangster Land: With the Mafia having become the state, all of Southern Italy becomes this.
  • Honor Among Thieves: The Mafia have their own Code of Honour, a law for the lawless, which is enforced as such. Those who do not follow will face severe consequences. If they choose to do so, Vizzini can create a law enforcement for the Mafia families themselves, to ensure nobody gets out of control, and give everyone some form of oversight to keep them in line.
  • Just a Gangster: The Mafia now rule uncontested over an entire nation for the first time, and they see virtually no reason to give it up anytime soon.
  • The Mafia: With their ultimate victory, they can rule Southern Italy for real, with the families becoming the government, and the gangs uniting into a new army. And under Vizzini's leadership, the Mafia are even more dangerous as they are truly united, with no petty feuds and breaches of discipline bringing them down anymore.
  • Make It Look Like an Accident: The Mafia now can conduct high-profile assassinations of all opponents, using snipers, abductions, car bombings, and other standard gangland tactics. Still, Vizzini's government bothers to claim that all the deaths were accidents, despite everyone knowing otherwise.
  • The Man Behind the Man: Vizzini becomes this to the Pope if he decides to reinstate the Pope as leader of Northern Italy, but with the Mafia now ruling from the shadows.
  • Nebulous Criminal Conspiracy: They can form their own faction, the 'Axis of Bosses' and invite Capone's CSA and the Triad-led Legation Cities to join.
  • Protection Racket: The national source of income under Vizzini, who constructs as many as possible to enrich the government and state.
  • Shame If Something Happened: Their favored method of dealing with dissent these days is intimidation tactics, where they threaten the dissenter constantly. It's implied that outright murdering them is not out of the question.
  • The Syndicate: Their national government is structured like a giant Mafia syndicate, with protection rackets and
  • Totalitarian Gangsterism: Vizzini turns Southern Italy into a Mafia State, governed by the bosses, overseen by a Mafioso law enforcement. Corruption is engrained in the state, protection rackets replace taxes, and the government freely peddles narcotics, arms, and illegal luxuries to its own citizens. This is especially true in Sicily, the heart of the Mafia itself:
Indeed, in Sicily our word is law, in Sicily our control is absolute, and in Sicily we can do whatever we want. Our roots are in Sicily, and our home will always be in Sicily.
  • Violence is the Only Option: The Mafia's operations have always been violent, and now with them in charge, violence is a way of life for all of Southern Italy.

Julius Evola

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kx_evola.png
Ideology: National Populism

  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Invoked in a sense by Evola, who seeks to purposely promote warmongering, xenophobic and anti-egalitarian figures as part of his newly stabilished italian aristocracy - though he paints these traits as heroic instead of tyranical.
  • Better to Die than Be Killed: If the Neo-Sanfedisti take over Southern Italy and defeat the Legion, they'll eventually find Evola in the Basilica of Saint Nicholas, with a single gunshot in his forehead.
  • Culture Police: Evola wishes to purge Italy of all moral degeneracy.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Evola and his violent and totalitarian movement, the Nobile Legione del Risveglio, will attempt to forge Italy into their ultranationalist vision with little care for humanity when dealing with opposition. This mostly translates into them being violently misogynistic.
  • State Sec: The Knights of the Grail is a highly-esteemed society made up of the most loyal militants that answer directly to Sovereign Julius Evola without question.
  • War Hawk: Evola will declare war on the rest of Europe in the pursuit of restoring the Roman Empire.

Victor Emmanuel III

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kx_victor.png
Ideology: Paternal Autocracy (Messe), National Populism (Evola)

  • Puppet King: Emmanuel is little more than a uniting, popular face in Evola's empire, where the latter is the one to promote and instate his policies.
  • Reluctant Ruler: He doesn't fully agree with Evola's agenda, but is nevertheless happy to be given the throne if Evola decides on restoring the monarchy back.
  • Rightful King Returns: Victor Emmanuel, heir to the deposed Italian monarchy, can be restored to his throne if Julius Evola takes over the Kingdom of Two Sicilies.

Padre Pio as Pope

Ideology: Padre Pio Thought (National Populism)
In-Game Biography: Click to Show

  • Historical Badass Upgrade: In OTL, he was a relatively unknown stigmatist Catholic priest, now recognized as a saint. In Kaiserredux, he can become Pope, and eventually rule over the entire world.
  • Meaningful Rename: Gets one upon ascension to the Papacy. Aside from the meaning inherent in a Papal name, Pio can choose between the names Leo, Paul, and Gregory. These will determine whether he takes a traditionalist, moderate or reformist approach respectively.
  • Red Scare: Padre Pio issues a formal and unanimous decree against socialism, which he sees as a repugnant ideology.
  • Take Over the World: A reformist Padre Pio declares a new Crusade in order to unify mankind under the complete control of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Unexpected Successor: Padre Pio can arrange a meeting with the incumbent Pope, who proceeds to announce his resignation and declare that no Papal conclave would take place; instead, Padre Pio will be named his successor as Bishop of Rome. Naturally, the reactions are mixed, with some theologians declaring this move as illegal.

Ideology: National Populism

  • Feudal Overlord: Khan İshaki modernises feudalism to adopt it to the situation of 20th-century Bulgaria.
  • Historical Badass Upgrade: The real İshaki never had the political clout to make Bulgarism the official ideology of Bulgaria, or invade Ukraine and Russia to restore Old Great Bulgaria and crown himself Khan.
  • Hordes from the East: İshaki invokes the image of the old Turkic Bulgar hordes of the past.
  • Illegal Religion: İshaki outlaws all Orthodox Christianity to either instate state atheism or make way for Tengrism.
  • Occupiers Out of Our Country: The Bulgarists invade Ukraine, the North Caucasus and Russia to reclaim the former territories of Old Great Bulgaria and Volga Bulgaria.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_alb_nexhmije_hoxha.png

  • Cult of Personality: Nexhmije ensures that Enver wil forever live in the hearts and will of every single Albanian by promoting Enver as a deity who will guide Albania towards paradise, even in death.
  • Dirty Commies: The "Ultra-Hoxhaism" promoted by Nexhmije is an even more extreme version of Hoxha's Totalism, with all "revisionists" and reformers being purged, the power being centralized entirely around Nexhmije, a cult of adoratiom being promoted over Hoxha's death and a eternal state of revanchism to avenge her husband's name.
