Roter Morgen

  • Civil War: If the German Empire fails to deal with the fallout of Black Monday and the Roter Morgen game rule is enabled, the German syndicalists will rebel, starting a civil war.
  • Driven to Suicide: Even if the German Empire could defeat the revolutionaries in the civil war, Wilhelm II would take his own life out of shame, throwing the Empire into chaos.
  • Player-Exclusive Mechanic: The German revolution can only fire if Germany is controlled by a human player; it will never happen under the AI.
  • Satellite Character: Among the countries that emerge when Germany collapses after the reactionaries' victory in the civil war, only Bavaria has actual content. The others only have generic focus trees and serve as targets for Bavaria to conquer.

Ruling Party: Zentralkommandonote
Ideology: Syndicalism

  • I Can Rule Alone: After the revolutionaries emerge victorious in the German Civil War, Ernst Thälmann and Wilhelm Pieck will merge their parties due to their ideological similarities, only to turn against each other after one wins the election.
  • Kangaroo Court: If Thälmann or Pieck seizes power after the syndicalists emerge victorious in the civil war, the victor arrests the loser and holds mock trials for him and his supporters, sentencing them to life imprisonment.
  • Railroading: If the German Revolutionary Government wins the civil war, the British exiles will automatically retake the Home Isles, regardless of who is leading the Union of Britain. This was done to balance the factions.

Role: Chancellornote
Party: Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschland - Radikalenote
Ideology: Moderate Socialismnote

  • Full-Circle Revolution: If Liebknecht wins the first election after the Kaiserreich is overthrown, he'll turn the new Germany into a liberal democracy, paving the way for reactionaries like Konrad Adenauer or Gustav Krupp to take control of Germany and turn it back into a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie after Liebknecht retires in 1941.

Erich Honecker

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_germany_erich_honecker_young.png
General Honecker
Role: Chancellornote  (Liebknecht succession, first election)
Party: Partei of Demokratisch Sozialismusnote
Ideology: Moderate Socialismnote

  • Defector from Decadence: Honecker's radical faction splits from the SPD to protest how Karl Liebknecht essentially betrays the revolution by creating a new liberal democracy where right-wing parties are still allowed to freely run in elections.

Party: Christlich Demokratische Unionnote
Ideology: Social Conservatism

  • Evil Reactionary: Adenauer is a conservative who takes advantage of how Liebknecht creates a liberal democracy after the revolution and does not keep reactionary forces in check to run in the next election. Once in power, Adenauer does everything he can to revert the revolutionary government's progressive reforms, like secularism and welfare.
  • Rightful King Returns: The conservative Chancellor Adenauer has the choice to bring back the Kaiser and restore the Kaiserreich as a constitutional monarchy.

Kurt Schumacher

  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Krupp, CEO of one of Germany's biggest corporations, slashes welfare and worker's rights, controls them with metamphetamine, and allows the police to use lethal force to crush worker strikes.
  • The Man Behind the Man: He is the one behind the Supervisory Board of the Allgemeine Ostasien-Gesellschaft (AOG), backing their actions in China and German East Asia.
  • One Nation Under Copyright: Krupp, believing that monarchism, socialism and democracy are inferior to corporate rule, signs a contract for his corporation to simply buy out Germany itself, becoming the supreme authority in the regions they control.
  • Police State: Krupp massively expands the police and forms a militarised riot control force, authorised to apply lethal force to crack down on strikes.
  • President for Life: After winning the democratic election held after Liebknecht's retirement, Krupp cracks down on the opposition, consolidates power and eventually turns himself into Germany's new dictator.

  • Propaganda Machine: Krupp buys out all media and tells them what to print.
  • Red Scare: Krupp uses right-wing militias to crack down on the left and keep them on a tight leash.

Paul Lensch

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_gru_paul_lensch_2.png
Role: Volkskanzlernote
Party: Germanische Sozialistiche Volksparteinote
Ideology: Germanic Socialismnote

  • Commie Nazis: Lensch's ideology of German Socialism gives Germany a unique position as a symbol of the proletariat, fighting against bourgeois nations such as France and Britain. All German speakers should be united under a single pan-Germanic state led by a Volkskanzler, guardian of Germanic tradition and the People's Empire. Despite its name, German Socialism rejects Marxism and instead organises the economy in a corporatist manner, which has caused other socialists to condemn it as reactionary.

Emperor Rupprecht I
King Robert I
Role: Monarchnote
Party: Bayrische Vaterländische Frontnote

  • Naturalized Name: Rupprecht I of Bavaria becomes known as Robert IV of House Stuart-Wittelsbach upon being crowned King of Scotland or King of England and Robert I upon being crowned as King of Jacobite America.
  • Puppet King: Like with the other Stuart rulers, Rupprecht/Robert I has no real authority in Jacobite America and is mostly beholden to Arch-Regent Carroll's whims. Unlike the other Stuarts, though, Robert has actual aristocratic experience from his life in the German Empire.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kx_antartica.png
Official Name: Union of Soviet Antarctic Communes

Ideology: Communismnote

  • Foreign Ruling Class: Although the Antarctic Commune's population consists entirely of penguins, its leader Trotsky is a human.
  • Outside-Context Problem: Emperor penguins and Adélie penguins uniting under Leon Trotsky and invading human nations is meant to be every bit as ridiculous as it sounds.
    ...What have I done!?
    What in God's name...
    Who is this mysterious invader?
    We must stop this madness!

The place was situated within the Norwegian territorial claim of Queen Maud Lwas, with the Nazi Germany planned to take over the place and its sovereignty, but they never formally claim it. In Kaiserredux where the Nazi Germany did not exist, the region was claimed by the German Empire instead as its colony.

  • The Necrocracy: If the Polish Rebirth League takes power, they can declare Poland's symbolic head of state to be Jesus Christ, in the form of either Jesus of Lechia or Christ the King.
  • Purposely Overpowered: All of Poland's meme paths are designed to be some of the most overpowered ones in the game, especially the anarchist one.
  • The Theocracy: Under the Cavaliers of Jesus Christ or the Gords of Great Lechia, Poland becomes a Catholic theocracy whose people are tied together by their faith in Christ.

Gords of Great Lechia

Ideology: National Populism

  • Adventurer Archaeologist: Lechite archaeologists scour the world for the relics tied with Jesus of Lechia's history: the Shroud, the Crown of Thorns and the Nails.
  • Illegal Religion: The virulently anti-Semitic Lechites drive out all Jews from Poland, decrying them as the Synagogue of Satan.
  • Interfaith Smoothie: The Lechites promote a mix of Catholicism and Slavic paganism, declaring the Slavic gods as aspects of the One True Christ the Wanderer.
  • Proud Warrior Race: According to the Lechites, the warriors of Great Lechia once held the entire continent of Europe, all while the papist cleris say that they were nothing more than barbarians, even that they never existed.

  • Church Militant: The Cavaliers of Jesus Christ form numerous knightly orders like the Brothers of Saint Stanislaus and Knights of Saint-Queen Jadwiga to defend Poland and crush her enemies. The Church of Poland's support isn't enough; the faithful have to be mobilised, and the priests and chaplains have to become warriors for the coming crusade.
