    Tala
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tala_earth_27.jpg

Former apprentice to Felix Faust, Tala is an accomplished practitioner of the arcane arts (magic) with a taste for men of power, wealth and influence.

  • Black Widow: She claims to have had much more than 5 husbands.
  • Composite Character: Tala's appearance is based of the comics, while her being an apprentice and lover to Felix Faust is taken straight from Justice League Unlimited.
  • Evil Sorcerer: Her greatest weapon is her knowledge of sorcery, which she could employ in various ways, including a vast knowledge of potion brewing and also but not limited to: teleportation, transmutation and telekinesis.
  • Femme Fatale: She's always seen seducing men. She claims that many men have fallen to her great beauty and she may bring these men to a level of bliss that only Chaos can bring.
  • Hot Witch: She's a sorcerer who's been trained and thought by Felix Faust and she is very attractive.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: She's the biological mother of Sebastian Faust.
  • Older Than They Look: Despite looking on her thirties, Tala like Felix Faust is an immortal sorceress who's been living on Earth for centuries.
  • Really Gets Around: She's been married at least 5 known sorcerers, including Felix Faust, and at least 2 demon princes as spouses in a magically reinforced marriage geas.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: She was trapped and sealed on a mystical mirror by Felix Faust. While she had planned to kill Faust, Felix instead shouted the incantation of the mirror just as Tala swung down with her blade. Faust imprisoned himself in the mirror and let his unfortunate pupil take the blow from Tala.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She's 5'11"/180cm tall and very attractive.
  • Unholy Matrimony: To Felix Faust. She and Felix took part in a ritual which a child was formed in her womb.

    Anton Arcane
  • Alliterative Name: Anton Arcane, much like his niece Abby.
  • Arch-Enemy: Of the Swamp Thing, being his murderer.
  • Demon of Human Origin: His soul is so tainted by infernal energy that he has become a demon of sorts.
  • Evil Mentor: He mentored a young Nick Nolan in the black art of necromancy, and both are notoriously hard to put down.
  • Evil Sorcerer: Skilled in many forms of magic, including necromancy, among other things.
  • Evil Uncle: He's the cause of much of Abby's misery in her life.
  • The Ghost: Mentioned but not introduced yet.

    Nick Necro (Nicolas Nolan)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nick_necro_earth_27.jpg
The former mentor of Zatanna Zatara and John Constantine, who was killed on accident by Constantine during the nineties. After twenty years in Hell, he's been revived by Constantine's enemies for a yet to be explained purpose.
  • Actor Allusion: Nick looks like Keanu Reeves because of his role playing Constantine in the 2005 movie, and Nick was John's mentor and the one who inspired him to change his style of dressing.
  • Alliterative Name: Nick Nolan.
  • Back from the Dead: After being dead for over two decades, he was resurrected by the First of the Fallen and Nergal to be used against John Constantine.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: To contrast John's trench coat, he wears a nice suit coat and a loose tie.
  • Composite Character: He's based on both 2005's Constantine and John Wick, who were both portrayed by Reeves.
  • Dating Catwoman: Decades in Hell gave Nick plenty of time to reflect on his feelings for Zatanna. He's forgiven her and has reignited his romance with her. Provided they do not talk about John Constantine, the two find it easy to fall back into their grove.
  • Expy Coexistence: Nick is based on the Constantine (2005) incarnation and co-exists with the more comic-book accurate version of John Constantine inspired by Matt Ryan.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: Nick can definitely hold his own in a fight against most typical opponents. In more fearsome fights, Nick is quite proficient in fusing his magical power with his blows. He is brutally efficient and he can clear a room of enemies with frightening ease.
  • Manly Facial Hair: Instead of a five o'clock shadow, Nick has a well trimmed beard and he's just as manly as John Constantine.
  • Necromancer: This was Anton Arcane's specialty and the first school of magic which Nick studied and mastered. He is particularly adept at performing spells and rituals associated with death, decay, and that channel the power of the Rot. It is possible that Nick's own necromancy played a part of his resurrection. As an apprentice of Anton Arcane, it's quite possible that Nick could be an avatar of the intrinsic field.
  • Older Than They Look: He should be over 60 years old, but due to the time he was dead and in Hell, he looks younger than that.
  • Perception Filter: Nick is adept at making people think he's someone or something else. He can also change how another person's image is perceived.
  • Polyamory: He's the lover of Zatanna Zatara, who is also involved with John Constantine and Rory Regan.
  • Resurrected for a Job: Nergal and the First of the Fallen resurrected him for a yet-to-be-specified job, most likely concerning John Constantine and with nefarious purposes.
  • Shock and Awe: Nick can command "godfire" to emit from his body — usually his hands or eyes. This wicked magical lightning is black and violet in color. Before his death, Nick's lightning was entirely purple but it seems to have taken on an infernal aspect to it since his resurrection. His magic bolts are known to be extremely painful for ghosts, demons, angels, daimons, and fae.
  • Stage Magician: Nick has mastery in stage magic: practical hypnosis, sleight of hand, and escapology. Without using his magic, Nick can slip a pain of handcuffs within seconds.
  • Summon Magic: Nick is a skilled summoner of infernal beings. He can also summon a mysterious demonic voice to give him counsel and insight.
  • The Topic of Cancer: In Nick's autopsy, it was discovered he had lung cancer. For whatever reason, when he was brought back to life, his cancer was not only left intact but also warded against any magical attempts to cure it. It's possible that his demonic benefactors wanted to impress upon him a reason to not betray them.
  • We Used to Be Friends: John Constantine was once his pupil and lover, but after he accidentally killed him, now Nick resents him. Even though he still carries a grudge and constantly warns Constantine about a reckoning, he has yet to act on it.

    Stay Puft Marshmallow Man
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stay_puft_marshmallow_man_earth_27.jpg

  • Abnormal Ammo: Stay Puft can hurl sticky, messy chunks of himself a great distance.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: Instead of being a form taken by Gozer, he's a creation of Gozer accidentally thought by Ray to serve as champion against the Ghostbusters.
  • Adorable Abomination: A nigh unstoppable creature of destruction that's kind of cuddly.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: A giant marshmallow man.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: It's a marshmallow creature the size of a skyscraper.
  • Death Is Cheap: When destroyed, Stay Puft is only dispersed for a period of time. The amount of time it takes for him to reconstitute varies, depending on the method and severity of his destruction. When gone for longer periods, he often returns at larger sizes.
  • Four-Fingered Hands: Only has four fingers, which is hardly surprising for a mascot character.
  • Golem: It's classified as a Confectionary Golem.
  • The Needless: Stay Puft has no need to rest, eat, or hydrate. He is powered entirely by essence.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: He has survived gunfire, missile impacts, focused fire from seven flamethrowers, and even once had a Kryptonian fly through his chest. None of that fazed him in the slightest other than to upset him.
  • The Not-So-Harmless Punishment: Ray tries to think of a form for Gozer to create a champion that couldn't possibly hurt anyone, and he inadvertently recalled a corporate mascot from his childhood. There were certainly worse things Gozer could have created, but it still ends up as a hostile kaiju.
  • Self-Duplication: Stay Puft, while at his smaller sizes, has abundant essence to burn off. He can thus create "Mini-Mallow" duplicates of himself to help defend him against attackers.
  • Signature Headgear: The sailor hat he always wears with the words "Stay Puft".

    The Grundel
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/grundel_earth_27.jpg

  • The Ageless: Provided it eats every five to ten years, the Grundel does not appear to physically age, nor is it susceptible to illness.
  • The Corrupter: From a ghost that convinces children to behave badly, to a child-eating monster.
  • Dark Is Evil: His body is almost completely black with the exception of his face. Its body becomes even darker while in dark environments.
  • Lean and Mean: Is very lean and is a very unsavory character.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Star City Boogeyman and Terror of the Glades.
  • The Needless: The Grundel is able to go years between actual meals. It might also go days or weeks without sleep, particularly when it is actively stalking or hunting.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: As a supernatural entity, the Grundel is nigh-invincible and not susceptible to most conventional weaponry. It can shrug off gunfire and seems unfazed by most personal assaults.
  • No Biological Sex: Doesn't appear to have a gender, being considered Non-Binary.
  • Our Monsters Are Different: The Grundel appears to be an old bauba (boogeyman). As they age, each of these creatures evolve differently and have come to be known by many different names: rawheads, bodach, Black Pete, Jersey Devil, etc.
  • Overly-Long Tongue: Has a long tongue that ends in five tendrils. The tongue is also coated with some sort of paralytic ectoplasm which can render its victim immobile.
  • Skull for a Head: Its head is the skull of a child he uses to protect its head.
  • Super-Strength: Though it does not usually resort to brute displays of force, the Grundel can rip doors off hinges, throw an adult male over its head with one hand, and hurl manhole covers with ease.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Baubas are vulnerable to high-voltage electrical currents (a sustained exposure to a stun gun's current can kill your average bauba). It's also weak to Cold Iron.
  • You Don't Look Like You: His design is completely different from the series.

    The Rat King (Max Piper)
The original Pied Piper and Peter Piper's older brother. He became an agent of the Sheeda to take children away from their hometowns to be made enforcers of the Sheeda. Currently a member of the Parliament of Limbs.
  • Arch-Enemy: Of both his brother Peter and his sister in-law Bo Peep.
  • Back from the Dead: He was left for dead by his brother Peter but came back thanks to the popularity of his story.
  • Cain and Abel: The Cain to Peter's Abel, especially after he made Peter think he had killed his wife Bonnie, which is why Peter stabbed him and left him for dead.
  • Composite Character: Fables' villain and Peter Piper's brother Max is combined with The Rat King, an enemy of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
  • Did Not Think This Through: He was convinced by his brother to forsake his father's inheritance in exchange for helping him romance Bo Peep. When he tried to obtain his father's flute, his grandfather reminded him he had long forsaken that right.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Not that he was a very nice guy before, but after killing his father, he became an agent of the Sheeda who used his magical fife to take children and let the corrupted faeries turn them into their agents.
  • Magical Flutist: He is the original Pied Piper, using his magical fife "Fire", which is the opposite of Peter's "Frost".
  • Patricide: He killed his own father in order to obtain his magical flute.
  • Rat King: It's literally how he's known.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Even before they became enemies, Max and Peter were very different, with Peter liking the hard work and being a farmer while Max hated it, was a troublemaker and left as soon as he was able to.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He would at least kidnap children and let the Sheeda turn them into their enforcers.

    Dark Opal
  • Alternate Self: He's revealed to be an alternate self of Michael Fusco, just like Fusquod the Dwelf.
  • Arch-Enemy: Of Amethyst and Gemworld in general.
  • Evil Uncle: He tried to kill his niece Lexa when he took the relic that signifies the rule of Gemworld.

Order of Ancient Mysteries

    Vigo the Carpathian
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vigo_the_carpathian_earth_27.jpg

  • 0% Approval Rating: He wasn't exactly well-liked by his subjects as he was also known as "Vigo the Cruel", "Vigo the Torturer", "Vigo the Despised", and "Vigo the Unholy".
  • Adaptational Nationality: He was born in Markovia, instead of Moldavia. He just conquered Moldavia.
  • Archnemesis Dad: Besides being hated by his subjects, his daughter Elsa wanted to have revenge on him, only to be killed by unrelated factors, leaving Elsa without true closure.
  • Black Widow: A male version. Vigo has outlived over 12 wives.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: He referred to himself as "The Scourge of Carpathia" and "The Sorrow of Moldovia".
  • The Dreaded: Universally feared and hated by his own subjects while alive.
  • Emotion Eater: He feeds on human negative energy.
  • The Evil Prince: A notoriously despotic autocrat.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Quite literally. He was probably someone of common birth who after killing his first man at age ten, became apprentice of a lower lord or knight, and then he learned sorcery and the occult, until he became a feared despot all across Europe.
  • Hate Plague: His sheer presence seems to cause anger and resentment on the country of Markovia, since whenever his painting was brought out of storage and put on display, civil unrest came to the country.
  • My Death Is Just the Beginning: Upon dying, he declared he would return to the living world one day. And he did.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: All his nicknames show us he was not someone you wanted to mess with.
  • Our Founder: He happens to be the founder of the Order of Ancient Mysteries and its first Grandmaster.
  • Rasputinian Death: Since he wouldn't die of old age, a young Markovian king led his subjects in revolt and was poisoned, stabbed, shot, hung, stretched, disemboweled, drawn and quartered. And before his head expired, he swore he would return one day.
  • Related in the Adaptation: He's the father of the witch Elsa Grimston, who was birthed in a ritual with the succubus Enêligos.
  • Sorcerous Overlord: He was this in his past life.
  • Soul Jar: His painting actually contains Vigo's soul.
  • Spooky Painting: Dana comments that the painting gives her chills, even before the paranormal shenanigans begin.
  • Wanted a Son Instead: He wanted an heir, so he used a ritual with the succubus Enêligos to give birth to a child within a single night of full moon, only for the child be born a girl. He then left his daughter Elsa to be raised as a scullery maid.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Vigo is more than willing to possess baby Oscar for his new body.

    Albert Davis
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/albert_davis_earth_27.jpg

  • Adaptational Jerkass: Instead of summoning demons attempting to protect Star City in despair for the death of his wife and children, here he was manipulated by the Fallen Angel Azazel to unleash the Hell on Earth, using Gozer and his ritual as distractions.
  • Classic Villain: His weaknesses are listed as avarice, envy, and vanity. Classical indeed.
  • Composite Character: Being Linda Martin's ex-husband makes him a composite with Reese Getty, who was Linda's ex in the series.
  • Deal with the Devil: In his interactions with Azazel in the Dreaming, he made a pact with the Fallen in exchange for knowledge and power within the Order of Ancient Mysteries.
  • Dramatically Missing the Point: He completely mistakes Death's attempts at making him find peace with his own dying for some sort of test he needs to surpass, and he ends up trapped between life and death trying to reanimate himself instead.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: From a regular man with some interest in the occult, to Grandmaster of the Order of Ancient Mysteries and the one who summoned one of the most dangerous infernal beings in existence.
  • Hell-Bent for Leather: Wears a leather trench coat and the man brought the Hell on Earth incident.
  • Keystone Army: The ritual that brought demons to Earth was tied to his life-force, forcing Oliver Queen to kill him in order to seal the gateway he had opened.
  • Never My Fault: Even after it leads to his death, he refuses to accept his own decisions are what led him down this path, and even blames Death for manipulating him, when in fact she merely presented him with different choices he took.
  • Promoted to Parent: His parents Abraham and Karen Davis, as well two of his sisters, died during the Manhattaning, forcing his eldest brother Leonard to take care of his siblings.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Dressed in red leather and with a black shirt.
  • Related in the Adaptation: His brother Leonard "Len" Davis is part of Firestorm's supporting cast, while his nephew Lester "Rocky" Davis is one of the founding members of the original Challengers of the Unknown. His other brother Jonathan James "J.J." was part of Adrian Chase's support crew, providing him with weapons. His wife Linda Martin-Davis comes from the Lucifer TV series, while his daughter is Zoe Davis, an initiate of the cult and member of Night Force.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: He helped Walter Peck with acquiring a court order by "putting in a good word" with a judge he played golf with.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Not him but his wife and daughter, whose death motivated his descent into villainy in the comics, survived him instead.

Star City Slayer (Stanley Dover Sr.)
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Instead of Jr.'s maternal grandfather, Mitch Dover is his son instead.
  • Asshole Victim: Is very doubtful anyone felt sorry for the way he died.
  • Demonic Possession: Intended to take over his grandson's body so he could control the Beast with No Name who had bonded with Jr. by accident.
  • Evil Old Folks: Old Dover was a serial killer and a wannabe demon master.
  • The Ghost: Mentioned in Stanley and Spot's biography, but hasn't been seen yet.
  • Just Desserts: Eaten whole by the creature he was trying to control.
  • Offing the Offspring: Not only he killed his son and daughter in-law, he was planning to take over the body of his grandson.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/e27_mary_seward_by_roysovitch_ddijnzn_pre.jpg

Leader of the Blood Red Moon and mortal enemy and lover of Andrew Bennett.

  • Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: Her top leaves her flat stomach on full display, contrasting the fully-covering clothes Andrew wears.
  • Dating Catwoman: She and Andrew might be enemies now, but they still love each other, remaining engaged and seeing each other once per month at the Oblivion Bar.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: She and Andrew are still engaged and in love, and would rather not hurt each other.
  • Lesbian Vampire: Like her lover Andrew she's bisexual and a dangerous vampire lady.
  • Locked into Strangeness: Much like Andrew, a strand of her hair turned white after she became a vampire.
  • Love Makes You Crazy: Manipulated by Richard Rallstone/Simon Hurt to force Andrew to turn her into a vampire, she has become much less moral and more bloodthirsty, founding the Cult of the Blood Red Moon.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Mary's invulnerable to most forms of injury (certain exceptions apply). Bullets, blades and blunt objects do little to no damage to a vampire's body.
  • Really 700 Years Old: She's only a year younger than Andrew, and has remained alive for almost 500 years.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: Has red hair and green eyes and she's very important in the life of Andrew Bennett.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Mary can turn into a number of things— from wolves, to mist, to bats. She's also capable of partial transformations.

Grigori of the Golden Gaze

A coven of witches made up of Grigori at the service of Azazel. Unlike the Grigori of later years, this coven is very much aware of their service towards Azazel and Belphegor.
    In General
  • Eye Color Change: The three used to have blue eyes that turned golden when they officially became members of Azazel's Grigori.
  • Life Drinker: Their power can be further accelerated though drinking the blood/ichor of ephemerals, psychics, and other supernatural beings.
  • The Power of Hate: When angry, scared or in pain, they become more dangerous than usual as their blood draws in ambient infernal or eldritch energy from their surroundings, giving them an arcane adrenaline boost. This may augment their physical or mental capabilities or exhibit itself in a temporary arcane power.
  • Supernatural Sensitivity: All three have the ability to pierce the veil with their basic senses, allowing them to see and interact with ghosts or other unseen forces.
  • Two Guys and a Girl: To mirror the B.P.R.D. trio, they consist of Rasputin, Kroenen and Ilsa.

    Grigori Rasputin
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/grigori_rasputin_earth_27.jpg

A Siberian mystic and close advisor to the late Romanov family of the Russian Empire, Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin is a Grigori Witch at the service of Azazel and the one who orchestrated with the Nazis the summoning of Hellboy to Earth in 1944.

  • Actually Not a Vampire: Yes, he was dead, was brought back and he can absorb the life force and energy of others, but he's an infernal witch/sorcerer, not a vampire.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Instead of blue his skin remains its original color, and instead of Occult Blue Eyes, he has Supernatural Gold Eyes.
  • Back from the Dead: After his first death in Russia, his body was recovered by Ilsa Haupstein, who took him to Germany where Karl Kroenen built him a new body and transferred his soul into the empty husk.
  • Bald of Evil: Completely bald and wants to bring the end of the world.
  • Beard of Evil: Has a well trimmed beard and he's an occultist who plans to end the world.
  • Charm Person: Rasputin has a mesmerizing aura. When his identity is not known or people are not predisposed to dislike him, Rasputin can charm most into succumbing to his will. However, this ability does not work against those who have their reasons to dislike him — whether from his reputation or past interactions.
  • Energy Absorption: Rasputin lacks a heart. Instead, he has an essence engine built into his chest that can absorb the essence engine built into his chest that can absorb the essence from other sources — including living beings. Attacks with raw, unrefined essence against Rasputin will be impaired by the engine absorbing the essence quickly. Similarly, the engine will consume the essence of spells cast against Rasputin, causing decreased duration and/or effect.

  • Historical Domain Superperson: The famed mystic Grigori Rasputin is also a witch who has been at the service of the devil Azazel since he was very young and has returned to bring the Apocalypse using Hellboy.
  • Lust: Rasputin is often a slave to his carnal desires. Though Rasputin is a well-known master of seduction, he can also be made a victim of his own game.
  • Not Blood Siblings: His lover is Ilsa Haupstein, his coven sister.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Due to his new nature as a witch, he has outlived his children Dmitry and Maria Rasputin, who lived and died as normal humans.
  • Psychic Block Defense: Rasputin is immune to psychic intrusion or manipulation. His will alone can keep him conscious in the face of severe shock or trauma.
  • Rasputinian Death: He's the Trope Namer, since he was poisoned, shot, stabbed repeatedly and thrown into an icy river, but he refused to die, placing his soul into a magical torpor that would remain through his autopsy and burial.
  • Red Baron: Mad Monk, the Black Monk, The Master, the Voice of the Dragon.
  • Resting Recovery: Rasputin can enter a deep state of hibernation that preserves his life. He can go without nutrition and hydration, survive harsh exposure to the elements, and not succumb to death caused by painful and debilitating injuries of illness.
  • Sinister Shades: Wears sunglasses to hide his golden eyes and back in Russia he was quite known as sinister.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: His once blue eyes turned yellow after he was brought back from the dead by the followers of his patron Azazel.

    Karl Ruprecht Kroenen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kroenen_earth_27.jpg

Clockwork cyborg, alchemist, technomancer and Grigori witch who works with Grigori Rasputin and Ilsa Haupstein.

  • Adaptational Badass: Kroenen in the movie was already a step up from his comic self, and here besides his skill as a clockwork cyborg, he also has the powers of a Grigori witch.
  • Adaptation Origin Connection: He worked as the assistant of Dr. Victor Frankenstein and working with him helped inspire Kroenen into turning himself into a clockwork cyborg.
  • The Ageless: Kroenen does not age. In fact, it is quite possible he is no longer alive (at least in the traditional sense) and may simply be some sort of clockwork cyborg.
  • Alchemy Is Magic: Kroenen is a master of alchemy. He can create homunculi, simulacrums, potions, elixirs, and even knows how to forge and shape using mystical metallurgy.

  • Cyborg: A technomancer who turned himself into a Clockwork cyborg.

  • Desperately Needs Orders: If left to his own devices, Kroenen would remain sequestered in his lab, continually "perfecting" himself.
  • Dual Wielding: He wields a pair of bladed tonfas.
  • Facial Horror: Removed his own lips and eyelids.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Kroenen has an armored bodysuit, gas mask, and specialized blades — all of which he created himself using adamant, iron, mythril, and aurichalcum. The goggles of his mask keep his lidless eyes moist and also provide nightvision and thermal sight.

  • Germanic Efficiency: He is also obsessed with efficiency and precision.
  • Implausible Fencing Powers: Kroenen possesses paranormal reflexes, dexterity, coordination, and reflexes. He can dodge bullets and even deflect them when armed with blades.
  • Instant Expert: Kroenen has an innate instinct for the occult and gradually learns new lore regurlarly, though due to his interests much of these are technomantic formulas and alchemical processes rather than traditional spells and rituals.
  • Last-Name Basis: Almost always referred to by his last name.
  • Mad Doctor: He claims to be a doctor of medicine, but besides his obsession with "perfection" and all the body modifications he made on himself, he experimented with countless people to create a new body for Rasputin.
  • The Mentally Disturbed: Kroenen claims he is beautiful. While beauty is in eye the beholder, he is clearly unstable. He also has a skewed view on other things most view as attractive or breathtaking.
  • Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: He's a Grigori witch who has turned himself into a clockwork cyborg.
  • The Quiet One: He doesn't talk much nowadays, mostly due to having removed his own lips.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: The goggles of his mask are red and he's incredibly dangerous.
  • The Sleepless: Kroenen is always conscious. If rumors are to be believed, he can no longer sleep and instead engages in meditation to preserve what is left of his sanity.
  • Stronger Than They Look: Kroenen is much stronger than his frail frame would suggest.
  • Super-Intelligence: Kroenen has apparently added adamant filament to the surface of his brain to improve his neural impulses, increasing his intelligence and reaction time.
  • Super-Toughness: Kroenen is more resistant to injury than normal people.
  • Terrified of Germs: After studying germ theory, he became concerned with developing an infection due to his constant self-flaying. Hence his signature gas mask and bodysuit.

    Ilsa Haupstein
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ilsa_haupstein__earth_27__commission_by_phil_cho_det49qz_fullview.jpg

Elisabeth Ingrid 'Ilsa' Haupstein is a Grigori witch of the Golden Gaze and accomplice of Grigori Rasputin and Karl Kroenen.

  • Adaptational Skimpiness: She was usually seen in uniform or in casual clothes, but here she's seen wearing far less.
  • Badass Longcoat: All she wears besides underwear is a white longcoat.
  • Blood Bath: Ilsa engages in occult bloodbathing to maintain her youthful vigor and appearance. While this practice continues, the effects of aging are countered.
  • Charm Person: Ilsa's innate power allows her to issue commands which demons are inclined to follow. Even archdemons are more receptive to her.
  • Composite Character: One of her aliases is Eloise Livingston, an alias used by Wonder Woman villain Fausta Grables. She's also combined with Ingrid Weiss, enemy of Tom Strong and mother of their son, Albrecht Strong.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Has blonde hair and golden eyes.
  • Dark Action Girl: Ilsa is regarded as a world-class assassin, specializing in the use of dual-wielded pistols. In addition to her marksmanship and uncanny gunsmithy ability, Ilsa is also a master martial artist and a master of most bladed weaponry. Her sociopathic mentality only makes her all the more deadly.

  • I Have Many Names: Anneliese Steiner, Eloise Livingston, Ingrid Weiss, Gun Witch and Ice Princess.

  • Mythology Gag: Her Ops Moniker Iron Maiden references how in the comics she killed herself using an iron maiden to be with her lover Vladimir Giurescu, only for her blood to serve as an offering and anchor for the goddess Hecate.
  • Older Than They Look: She's over a hundred years old but remains youthful due to being a witch who engages in bloodbaths.
  • Psycho Supporter/Undying Loyalty: Though Ilsa does not have emotions, she does have her own deranged sort of love for Grigori Rasputin, possibly as a result of his mesmerizing aura. She had proven she would follow him to Hell and back to fulfill their mutual goals. Of course, this might sour quickly if he were to ever betray her.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Wears red and black lingerie.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Her husband (whom she killed as sacrifice to revive Rasputin) was Kurt Steiner, a Schutzstaffel officer in charge of the Fortress Regensdorf, in which prisoners of war were kept during WWII.
  • She-Fu: Thanks to her past as an ice skater, Ilsa is much more coordinated and dextrous than most humans. She has a perfect spatial awareness of her body in regards to her environment, with perfect balance and superhuman reflexes as well.
  • The Sociopath: She's downright called a psychotic sociopath, with no consciousness nor real emotions.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Listed at 5'8"/173cm tall and very beautiful despite her sociopathic nature.
  • Stripperiffic: Only wears a coat, lingerie and garter stockings.
  • Vain Sorceress: She's a witch who engages in blood baths to keep her youth and is The Vamp, although surprisingly she's not listed as being "Vain" about her appearance.
  • Unholy Matrimony: With her lover and coven brother Grigori Rasputin.
  • Woman Scorned: "Hell Hath no fury like a woman scorned" is especially true with Ilsa. When upset or stressed, Ilsa reacts violently and without regard for others' safety.

Sheeda

    In General
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: Instead of fairy-like beings who come from the future who would regularly pillage one timeline, they are corrupted Fae exposed to the energies of The Bleed.
  • Composite Character: The Adversary from Fables' canon is combined with the Sheeda from Grant Morrison's Seven Soldiers of Victory.
  • Creative Sterility: They are considered uncreative and simple glamour can fool them. Sheeda drones are notorious for being easily fooled and lacking creativity and intelligence. For this reason, the Sheeda will often employ human and Fable agents to their cause. The concept of love is also alien to them.
  • Reforged into a Minion: Sheeda put their prisoners through a conversion process, which transforms their victims into soldiers. It's possible to escape the process thanks to having a natural immunity to the Bleed, being rescued before the process is completed, or having a faulty pod.

    Melmoth
The Deposed king of the Sheeda and member of the Lords of Chaos.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Did this to Jacqueline Pemberton so she would consent to act as a conduit for the Sheeda invasion.
  • Dimension Lord: Ruler of the Sheeda, a extra-dimensional race intent on bringing chaos and destruction to Earth.
  • The Fair Folk: The Sheeda are an extra-dimensional race of faeries corrupted by Void's energies that have threatened different worlds since the times of King Arthur.
  • The Ghost: Klarion attempts to summon him, only to be stopped by Mystery Inc., as such he hasn't made an appearance yet.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: In the comics he's not related to the Lords of Chaos.

    Gloriana Tenebrae
  • Composite Character: She's combined with John Pemberton's wife Gloria Pemberton.
  • Depraved Bisexual: Gloriana's retinue includes both male and female slaves.
  • Evil Matriarch: Saw her children and grandchildren with John Pemberton as nothing but conduits to achieve the Sheeda invasion. She also allowed Melmoth to torture Jacqueline so she would consent acting as anchor for the Sheeda.
  • Fairy Tale Motifs: Gloriana is a Wicked Stepmother Evil Queen.
  • The Ghost: Mentioned in Jacqueline's bio, but hasn't made an appearance yet.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: Co-ruler of the Sheeda alongside Melmoth, and very bad news for Earth.
  • Related in the Adaptation: She's the mother of Sylvester and Darren "Soapy" Pemberton, and paternal grandmother of Arthur, Henry and Jacqueline Pemberton.
