ECO are a Hebdomad formed from the remnants of the Order of Ancient Mysteries known as the Eurybian College of the Occult, or "ECO". They have many objectives but one involves possession of the five rings and the overthrow of Gaia.

    In General
  • Equal-Opportunity Evil: The technomancer student of Professor Frankenstein, a Demon Prince, a Kasnian oligarch, a mercenary from Santa Prisca, a former Vlatavan aristocrat turned Titan, a magical were-pig, the daughter of Gaia herself, and the goddamn personification of darkness itself... the ECO ain't a group to mess with.
  • Fun with Acronyms: The Eco-Villains are now a Hebdomad formed from the remnants of the Order of Ancient Mysteries known as the Eurybian College of the Occult, or "ECO".

    Eurybia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eurybia__earth_27__commission_by_phil_cho_dejuvn5_fullview.jpg

Eurybia is a Primordial goddess of myth described as "having a heart of flint within her". She is the bastard daughter of Pontus and Gaia. She was known as having power over the elements. Founder and former leader of the Eurybian College of the Occult.

  • Adaptational Superpower Change: While technically based on Captain Pollution, her powers have nothing to do with pollution or anything of the sort, although her powers have increased due to the increase in sea levels thanks to human activity.
  • Antagonistic Offspring: To her mother Gaia, desiring to kill her and take her place as goddess of the Earth.
  • The Archmage: She has incredible magical powers and knowledge, making her truly among the divine in her understanding of the occult. With her ability to leverage the power of the sea, her magic undeniably potent. As a ritualist, the backing of her cult, Eurybia is an unmatched sorceress.
  • Bastard Bastard: The illegitimate daughter of Gaia and Pontus, she's described as having a heart of stone.
  • Brother–Sister Incest: She was married to her half-brother Krios, and currently she's dating the man that now possesses her husband's body.
  • Cain and Abel: The Cain to Iapetus' Abel.
  • Curtains Match the Window: She has blue hair and blue eyes.
  • Dimensional Traveler: Eurybia can open rifts to other realms such as the Void, the Homelands, the Green, the Red, and many other dimensions.
  • Elemental Powers: Similarly to her brother Iapetus, Eurybia has control over elements.
    • Dishing Out Dirt: Eurybia can alter and control soil, stone, and molten rock.
    • Green Thumb: Eurybia has control over plant life native to Earth.
    • Making a Splash: Eurybia can command the flow of any body of water. She can cause water to immediately freeze or boil, independent of its external temperature. Eurybia can condense water molecules in the air thereby conjuring water. She could even extract the water from the bodies of living things, causing them to immediately dehydrate.
  • Everyone Is Related: Being a Titan, she's related to nearly the entire Greek Pantheon, being the mother of the Titans Pallas, Perses and Astraeus. Through her son Perses she's the grandmother of Hecate, Goddess of Magic.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Her outfit is certainly not symmetrical.
  • Gender Flip: Being based on Captain Pollution, she's Captain Planet's sister and Evil Counterpart.
  • Hyper-Awareness: Eurybia has a greater knowledge about the universe than humans and other supernatural beings. She is aware of such things as the Tapestry, Murums, the Monitor and the Fanatics.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: Unlike her mother's golden eyes, Eurybia has pale, icy eyes.
  • Immortality: Similar to her mother, Eurybia does not require worship. She does have a deep and intrinsic bond to the welfare of the sea (specifically the Mediterranean Sea, but also to the oceans and other large bodies of water). So long as Earth is covered in water, Eurybia will thrive. As the sea levels rise and reclaim more of the Earth, she will only grow stronger — with her power now rivaling that of her mother.
  • Jerkass Gods: She's a primordial deity who wants to destroy humanity, not due to their activities but to stick it to her mother Gaia.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Eurybia is unharmed by conventional weaponry, and is immune to pain, common physical ailments, and disease.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Her son Pallas was killed and dissolved at the River Styx while her other son Perses was slain by Poseidon and Hades at his throne during the Titanomachy.
  • Red Baron: Daughter of the Deluge, Floodborn, Sister of Sand, Sea, and Storm.
  • Stripperiffic: She doesn't wear a lot of clothing, even displaying the heartstone that's located in her navel.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: She looks a lot like her mother Gaia.
  • Super-Strength: Eurybia's physical form is exceedingly strong. She can punch with the force of a tsunami. At her current power, she can match the strength of her half-brother Iapetus or a fully powered Kryptonian.
  • Teleportation: Eurybia can not only immediately relocate herself to places her cult have established as places of power, but she can also instantly teleport from one shore of a body of water to anywhere else touched by the same body of water.
  • Time Abyss: She's 5.33 millions of years old, being born before the first true hominids descended from the trees.
  • The Usurper: As Gaia's natural born daughter, Eurybia stands to inherit the mantle of Mother Earth, should Gaia be destroyed. In a way, Eurybia was Gaia's insurance policy that if she should be killed, that there would be a new being able to oppose the Titans. Unfortunately, this insurance policy has backfired. Eurybia now intends to claim her inheritance though violence.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Eurybia has multiple forms she can assume easily. With some focus, she can assume the form of any being of Earthly origin.
  • Wife Husbandry: It's pretty blatant that Eurybia groomed Dragan Nukaum to be her lover once he turned eighteen, and it didn't take long for her to transfer his soul to Krios' body.

    Dr. Blight (Dr. Barbara Blythe)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barbara_blythe_and_mal__earth_27__commission_by_phil_cho_dei6pye_fullview.jpg
Barbara Blythe and Mal

Dr. Barbara "Babs" Blythe is an Irish scientist and technomancer. She is a former student of Gerhardt Gestern and is usually accompanied by "Mal", her assistant automaton.

  • Mad Scientist: As expected from a former apprentice of Victor Frankenstein.
  • Morality Chain: Her husband Malcolm Curry tried to steer her away from Gestern and the immoral practices he was impressing on her. So when they married Gestern removed his soul and turned his body into an Empty Shell. This and the accident that disfigured her and destroyed Mal's body is what turned her into the nihilistic and hateful person she is today.
  • Older Than They Look: She might appear to be in her twenties, but she's in fact over 150 years old thanks to her knowledge of alchemy and technomancy.
  • Pink Means Feminine: She's a woman who wears a pink jumpsuit.
  • Red Right Hand: Her haircut covers up the fact that the entire left side of her face is horrifically burned. For bonus points, her hands are also scarred.
  • Shout-Out: Mal's last name references Tim Curry, who voiced Mal in the original series.
  • Soul Jar: As a final kick to his former student, Gestern placed the soul of Malcolm Curry within a crystal that was toxic to biological lifeforms, preventing Barbara from transferring the soul to a new body. Hence why she has created an automaton body for her former husband to inhabit.
  • Straw Nihilist: The only reason she joined the Eurybian College was to make everyone else suffer the same way she did. It's actually a very similar mindset to that of her mentor’s wife.
  • Two-Faced: The left side of her face is badly scarred.

    Plunder (Lyuben Plundordovic)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lyuben_plunder_earth_27.jpg

Lyuben Plundordovic is a Kasnian oligarch, arms dealer, and all around bad dude. He has political connections that run even deeper than his bank account. Unbeknownst to many is his secret background as an occultist. He has a number of minions to do his bidding, including Argos Bleak and his team of private security operators known as Slaughter Security.

  • Adaptational Hairstyle Change: In the show he was clean shaven and had relatively short hair, but here he has a goatee and his hair is tied in a ponytail.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Sure, second son of a third son, but he's an influential oligarch who wants profits for both himself and his family.
  • Authority in Name Only: He was given the position of Minister of the Royal Estate by his uncle, but when he realized the position had very little authority, he began to dive in fully in his occult pursuits.
  • Beard of Evil: In comparison to his clean-shaven appearance on the show, he has a goatee, and he's an all around bad guy.
  • Clashing Cousins: He constantly undermines the interests of his cousin King Gustav III by using his position in the notoriously corrupt Kasnian parliament to further benefit his shady businesses.
  • Classic Villain: Greed and Vanity, and he sure lives by those.
  • Classy Cane: Which has a golden elephant at the handle. He also happens to be a master fencer, so he knows Cane Fu as well.
  • Corrupt Politician: Managed to get elected in the quite corrupt Kasnian parliament, and he constantly uses his position to further his goals and undermine the authority of his cousin the king.
  • Diplomatic Impunity: Due to his status as part of the Kasnian royal family and as member of its parliament.
  • Evil Poacher: He's often involved in illegally killing animals, either for profit or for his own pleasure.
  • Fiction 500: An estimated worth of $57.2 billion.
  • Green and Mean: Green eyes and a fancy money green coat, and he sure can be a douche.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Nephew of King Gustav II, that makes him cousin of King Gustav III and of Princess Auda "Audrey" Plundordovic of Kasnia. His wife is Min-Jun Plunder/Mame Slaughter and his son is Radovan Plunder/Stalker Slaughter, while in the series they were unrelated.
  • Smug Snake: He often has a smug sense of superiority and acts condescending to those he considers beneath him.
  • Start of Darkness: The loss of his father and brother led him to delve into the occult, and he eventually used his estate to found the Eurybian College, better known as ECO.
  • Unholy Matrimony: With his wife Min-Jun Plunder/Mame Slaughter, who works as lieutenant at Slaughter Security.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: By all accounts he had a happy childhood, but the deaths of his father and brother during the Manhattaning changed him. His uncle tried to help him by giving him a position as minister, but when that position proved to be powerless, it made him focus into the occult and other ways to benefit himself and his country.

    Nukem (Dragan "Drago" Nükaum)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nukem__earth_27__commission_by_phil_cho_deim8gi_fullview.jpg

Former Vlatavan Herceg (Duke) and occultist who, after being executed, had his soul placed on the body of the dead Titan Krios. Now he fights alongside Eurybia against Captain Planet and the Planeteers.

  • Achilles' Heel: Like Iapetus, Krios' body is weak to adamant, even though his body is made of the same material.
  • Adaptation Species Change: Instead of a radioactive mutant, he's a human soul fused with the body and heartstone of a Titan.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Rather than giving off and controlling radiation, he has all the strengths and weaknesses of a Titan, like immortality, might, nigh-invulnerability and is capable of Teleportation.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: He's a Vlatavan duke who supported Werner Zytle in his coup against the royal family. Now he's a Titan with a nasty temper.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Sort of red hair and red eyes.
  • Composite Character: Duke Nukem is combined with the Titan Krios. And quite literally on the composite part since he's a human inhabiting the body of a Titan.
  • Everyone Is Related: Due to Krios being one of the original Titans, it makes him the brother of Kronos, Iapetus and Eurybia, plus uncle of the many lesser Titans and Olympians, relating him in body to Wonder Woman, Menodora and Cassie Sandsmark.
  • Evil Counterpart: Of Captain Planet, being a Titan whose purpose was changed, but instead of fighting to protect Gaia, he now serves the designs of Eurybia.
  • Evil Redhead: Has red hair (or what appears to be a red crest) and he's a Titan and Duke with a lot of wrath within his soul.
  • Fusion Dance: After his death, Dragan's soul was fused by Eurybia with the Heartstone that once held the soul of the Titan Krios.
  • Neutral No Longer: Krios and his wife Eurybia apparently didn't take a side during most of the Titanomachy until the final battle on which he was slain.
  • Patricide: Killed his own father during King Vertigo's coup and to become the head of the family. Krios also aided his brothers in killing their father Ouranos.
  • Possessing a Dead Body: After death, Eurybia mended his soul to the heartstone and body that belonged to her husband Krios.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Has red eyes and he's a dangerous Titan.
  • Unholy Matrimony: Currently in a relationship with Eurybia, who was the wife of the Titan whose body he currently inhabits.
  • Weak to Magic: He has a weakness towards magic and Cosmic Energy.

    Sludge (Silvestre Barros)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sylvestre_barros_earth_27.jpg

Silvestre Barros is the commander of SLTR, better known as Slaughter Security. He has grown wealthy and powerful by selling his services to conflict areas and using this as a cover to extract mystical relics and obtain esoteric knowledge, often by force.

  • Adaptational Badass: He wasn't very physically capable in the series, but here he's an expert boxer, marksman and vehicle operator. Most of it was self-taught.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: In the series he was something of a Fat Idiot whose plans were prone to failure, but here he's a world class strategist and master archaeologist with lots of military, political and criminal connections.
  • Adaptational Villainy: He was the least overtly malicious member of the Eco villains in the series, even reforming, but here he's much more dangerous, ruthless, and willing to dirty his hands.
  • Adaptation Origin Connection: He and his mercenary band were the ones who killed Ma-Ti's village
  • Ambition Is Evil: He's been ambitious from an early age, and that desire to succeed is what led him to crime, and then to become a mercenary.
  • Appropriated Appelation: When a South American native elder called him 'Sludge', due to his last name Barros being the same word they used for the vicious waste produced by a power plant, he decided he liked it and took Sludge as moniker.
  • Bald of Evil: Balding but he still counts, being a ruthless mercenary that massacred Ma-Ti's people.
  • Classic Villain: His vices are Greed, Wrath and Gluttony, and he sure lives by those.
  • Fat Bastard: He's an overweight felon.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: From the street urchin son of an unknown father and a seamstress, to a major crimelord in Santa Prisca, to an important leader of a mercenary company with access to a great deal of mystic relics.
  • Hired Guns: Though most of his work is done with Plunder or the Eurybian College of the Occult footing the bill, Sludge and SLTR have also been employed by or done business with Felix Faust, Faust's former protégé Tala, the late Albert Davis, Mary Seward, Papa Midnite, Damien Darhk, Gideon Graves, Jaimini Sargent, and John Constantine.
  • In-Series Nickname: Sly Sludge and Silvestre Sludge.
  • Slime Ball: Besides Sludge being his moniker, the guy oozes sleaziness and is greedy, self-centered and gluttonous.
  • Teens Are Monsters: Became a crimelord at just 14 years old after years of fighting and killing in his way to the top.

    Hoggish (Moccus)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hoggish_greedly_earth_27.jpg
Click for Were-Boar Look

Moccus is the son of the legendary Boar of Erymanthos and the Fabled goddess Henwen. He is a werepig, a rare breed of therianthrope, and a powerful practitioner of black magic. He is also known as the Greedy Hog or Hoggish Greedly, a name taken to disguise his true name.

  • Adaptation Species Change: From a regular 'pig-man' to a Therianthrope descendant of a mythological creature.
  • All Myths Are True: His birth name Moccus is the name of a Celtic boar or swine-god associated with Mercury. He's been known as Babi Ngepet, a demon boar from Indonesian mythology. Another of his aliases is Jimmy Squarefoot, a legendary bipedal pig-headed creature living on the Isle of Man from Manx Mythology. He's also been known as the Beast of Dean, a boar-like creature said to live, or to have once lived, in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Red irises and he's a redhead.
  • Delinquent Hair: A reddish mohawk, which remains even in beast form.
  • Divine Parentage: His mother was the goddess Henwen while his father was the famed Boar of Erymanthos.
  • The Dragon: As Eurybia's oldest ally, he is trusted with overseeing projects that the grandmistress considers of paramount importance. If you find Hoggish, then it's a certainty that he's got a battalion of SLTR soldiers within earshot and something big and bad is going down somewhere nearby.
  • Evil Redhead: Has red hair in a mohawk. His fur in werepig form is also reddish.
  • Famous Ancestor: His father is the Erymanthian Boar, one of the creatures from the Twelve Labors of Hercules.
  • Fat Bastard: Even more heavyset than Sludge and just as unpleasant.
  • Fat Slob: He's not just greedy, he's untidy, as the food stains on his vest prove.
  • Full-Frontal Assault: Doesn't wear clothes in werepig form, but luckily his fur keeps everything covered.
  • I Have Many Names: Babi Ngepet, Beast of Dean, Greedy Hog, Hoggish Greedly, and Jimmy Squarefoot.
  • In-Series Nickname: Bacon, Big Boy, Ham, Hammy, Hog, Piggy, Porkchop.
  • One Degree of Separation: One of the former followers of his mother was the witch Circe, who perverted the knowledge to turn men into beasts to curse her enemies.
  • Parental Abandonment: His father was defeated and captured by Hercules before being eventually slain, while his mother was killed by the goddess Artemis.
  • Pig Man: That remains consistent, and his wereboar form appears even bigger than that of the Three Little Pigs. Even in human form, he still appears piggish.
  • Really 700 Years Old: He was born in prehistory, old enough to have known Hermes in his identity as Mercury.
  • Sinister Swine: He's a literal Pig Man, a messy eater and the most dedicated follower of Eurybia and her plans.
  • Tiny-Headed Behemoth: Not so much in human form, but in wereboar form, his head appears very small on top of his massive fat body.
  • Villainous Glutton: Constantly eating and he's a villain.
  • We Used to Be Friends: He and Hermes in his identity of Mercury were once unlikely friends, until Moccus found out Hermes' sister Artemis had killed his mother Henwen, which made him flee north and rally the Celts against Rome.

    Khaos
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/khaos__earth_27__commission_by_phil_cho_dejx1tm_fullview.jpg

Khaos is a Primordial being, the sister of Erebus, Pontus, Gaia, Ouranos, and Nyx. She has explored the cosmos for a great expanse of time only to return recently, eager to reap the power of Earth at the dawn of the Fifth World. She seeks to usurp her sister Gaia as the Spirit of Earth to become the avatar of the planet upon its elevation in the aftermath of an event brought upon by their other sister Nyx, an event known as the Blackest Night.

  • Adaptational Attractiveness: Normally, Khaos is represented as a formless void, but here she can take human form.
  • Anti-Magic: Khaos' entropy can cause magical enchantments, curses, or other patterned effects like psionic reprogramming to unravel and dispel. More resilient effects may only be temporarily scrambled. Khaos can also create a field around herself which negates specific effects such as teleportation, metahuman powers, or chronokinesis.
  • Astral Projection: Khaos can project a fragment of her consciousness and a spectral likeness of herself to the presence of any person she is remotely familiar with — provided they aren’t warded from her.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Khaos and Eurybia seem to have the same goals as both wish to become Mother Earth. Though, their plans do differ. Eurybia wishes to cleanse the Earth of humanity where Khaos seeks to be the Spirit of Earth at the birth of the Fifth World so she inherits the expected endowment of cosmic energy. After that, she could care less about what happens to our planet.
  • Cain and Abel: The Cain of Gaia's Abel. That said, she's much older than either Cain or Abel.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Violet hair and purple eyes.
  • The Empath: Khaos can feel and influence the emotions of living beings — even showing herself able to manipulate the emotions of the most potent of cosmic beings. Among mortals, Khaos often floods the minds of large crowds with emotional sensations so potent as to override their senses, inhibitions, decency, and judgment.
  • Going Commando: Much like her sister Gaia, the slit of her dress indicates she's not wearing anything underneath.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Not only did she create the Lords of Chaos, she also used her touch of The Bleed to turn Mobius into The Anti-Monitor.
  • Healing Hands: With a touch, Khaos can harm or heal living matter.
  • Hyper-Awareness: Khaos can interpret passive signals in the frequencies of cosmic energy to gain insight into events she did not experience.
  • Magical Barefooter: Much like her sister, Khaos doesn't really wear footwear.
  • Manipulative Bitch: She manipulated Tuoti's feelings for Ahti/Kismet, increasing his desire and rage to make him attempt to kidnap her. Then she allied with Pralaya and Perpetua and usurped the Foundation from Tuoti.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: As one of the oldest cosmic beings, Khaos has immense resilience to physical and supernatural attacks. She has survived direct assaults from progenitors, archangels, and Endless. Mortals and their weapons pose little threat to her.
  • The Older Immortal: As a Primordial, she's billions of years older than other deities, including some of her siblings. She even predates the Void itself.
  • Our Founder: She made Tuoti her subordinate and renamed him Dominus, making her the founder of the Lords of Chaos.
  • The Power of Creation: Khaos can create objects, including those with minor enchantments, at will through the manipulation of ambient essence.
  • Power of the Void: Khaos can cause physical matter to implode upon it, simply ceasing to exist. She is limited in her ability to do things against the living by some esoteric quality possessed by certain things.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Purple hair, violet eyes and dark purple robe, and she's one of the most ancient and dangerous entities that exist.
  • Secondary Color Nemesis: Her colors are different shades of purple and she desires to usurp her sister Gaia.
  • Sexy Slit Dress: Her dress has a slit for her leg.
  • Time Abyss: She's one of the most ancient beings in all of existence, even older than her sister Gaia. She's around 14 billion years old.
  • Time Master: Khaos can suspend the flow of time temporarily. She can also accelerate or slow the passage of time around her.
  • The Usurper: She's the one that created the Lords of Chaos by usurping Tuoti and forcing him to submit to her, renaming him Dominus, and taking the Foundation as her domain. Now, in the advent of the Blackest Night, she desires to usurp her sister Gaia to continue existing.

SLTR aka Slaughter Security

    In General
  • Composite Character: Sly Sludge's Mudmen are combined with Slaughter Security, Mudmen being their moniker before officially renaming it SLTR.
  • Faceless Mooks: Rank and file soldiers of Slaughter Security wear face masks that cover their facial features.
  • Hired Guns: SLTR is more often known and advertised as "Slaughter Security" and bills itself, depending on the region, as either a mercenary company, private military contractor, corporate security firm, or courier service. Though it is a subsidiary of LP Investments, most of the group's mobilization and activity is acting as the dedicated muscle and martial force of the Eurybian College. If you see any members of ECO's inner circle, it's safe to assume that there is an armed brigade of SLTR nearby as well.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Yeah, Slaughter is not a name that implies safety or a great moral code.

    Mame Slaughter (Min-Jun Plundordovic)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/min_jun_plunder_earth_27.jpg

The wife of Plunder and a lieutenant at SLTR, better known as Slaughter Security.

    Argos Bleak
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/argos_bleak_earth_27.jpg
A henchman of Plunder and lieutenant at Slaughter Security.
  • Bald of Evil: Completely bald and a ruthless enforcer of SLTR.
  • Co-Dragons: One of Slaughter Security's lieutenants alongside Min-Jun Plundordovic, aka Mame Slaughter for Sludge.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Argos Bleak is certainly an intimidating name.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Inflicted this on Kwame Olowe during their first meeting, and Kwame would have died had his powers not activated for the first time and forced him to retreat.
